ICYMI, Spirit Airlines filed for bankruptcy, so we took a look at how that could affect holiday travel over the next few weeks. We let you know what's new on New Release Tuesday and we talked to Grant Bilse from the Wisco Sports Show! Cool story about a woman who donated part of her liver to save a young boy and finally got to meet him. And another great story about a guy in Georgia who saw a burning house & was able to break down the front door & save the person trapped inside. And during today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about an idiot who forgot his bag of drugs on a train and reported the bag missing, a granny in the UK who had a great response when she was busted for possession of cocaine, a pig on the loose named "Notorious P.I.G.", and a sad statement about where we get our news from in this country. For countless Italian Americans, many of the best-loved hallmarks of our distinct culture are intrinsically tied to Catholic tradition. Even for those who have let their personal practice lapse, or for others who come from different religious backgrounds, recollections of a special feast day in the old neighborhood, or holiday traditions rooted in Catholic practice remain treasured touchstones of their Italian American experience. For some families, that sense of identity continues to be informed by participation in Italian language Masses, or membership in one of the remaining Italian National Parishes spread throughout the country. And while these parishes and liturgies are available to our community at a lesser frequency than they were to older generations, there are some younger Italian Americans setting out to change that. In this week's episode, we're sitting down with Eric Lavin of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Newark, NJ and Alexis Carra-Tracey, founder of the Italian Mass Project of New York City, to learn about the ways they and their fellow millennials are seeking to preserve and expand the presence of Italian Catholic life in America. We'll explore their efforts to bring old traditions to a new generation, and get a lesson in the history of Italian Catholicism in America straight from the Wiki-Pat-ia himself. We still don't know much about the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home film coming later this year, but we may just know what our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man might look like. Spider-Man's new costumes has been on full display lately In the form of Funkos Spiderman, LEGOSs, and Spiderman action figures. This Funko Pop of Spidey, known as the Integrated Suit, shows off what appears to be some sort of sorcerer's device that Spider-Man will be in possession of. This third outing for Tom Holland's Spider-Man has been confirmed to be connected to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, giving way to much speculation on how or if we'll get glimpses of the Spiderverse. With these new Spiderman costumes, it's possible we'll see Tobey McGuire swinging his way alongside Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 17th, 2021, if they are exploring the Spiderman Spiderverse. We'll have to wait and see if we'll get a Spider-Man No Way Home leak or a Spider-Man No Way Home trailer to tell us more information about the Spider-Man No Way Home movie. In other Marvel news, James Gunn got into a back-and-forth on Twitter with fans about whether past Marvel shows were ever part of the overall MCU. While breaking down actors that have been in both the MCU and DCEU, a fan pointed out a few other actors that Gunn purposely omitted, which prompted him to note he wasn't including pre-Wandavision shows in the MCU. And finally, in things that should be wiped from the Internet and scrubbed from existence: We dropped an exclusive clip of Porky Pig rapping in the upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy movie. The clip starts off with Daffy Duck showing his age by referring to Porky as Notorious P.I.G., which immediately sent cringe shivers up my spine.
