On Love & Speak the Truth, Sister Brenda leads a thought-provoking conversation with Pauline Little, Dave Schmitz, and John Dimucci about the tangled realities of immigration, justice, and diversity in today's world. With Pauline and John grounding their perspectives in Catholic teachings and Dave bringing insights from management consulting, they explore the tensions between equity and merit, the ups and downs of diversity efforts, and the fears that hold society back. There are no easy answers—just an honest attempt to understand one another and navigate these complex issues together.
St. Tikhon's pointed advice to monk suffering from apathy and despondency. “If you follow these four instructions, believe me, little by little you will attain both zeal and inclination.”

Cub Kuker Supernatural Podcast EP429 The Bhagavad-Gita and the teachings of Jesus in the New Testament offer profound spiritual insights, each emphasizing the importance of love, duty, and the divine connection within all beings. Below are some parallels between the teachings of Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita and Jesus in the New Testament. On Love and Compassion Krishna: "He who has no ill will to any being, who is friendly and compassionate, free from egoism and self-sense, even-minded in pain and pleasure, and patient..." (Bhagavad-Gita 12:13) Jesus: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (John 13:34) "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be children of your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:44-45) On Duty and Righteousness Krishna: "You have the right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction." (Bhagavad-Gita 2:47) Jesus: "So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.'" (Luke 17:10) On Inner Divinity and Oneness Krishna: "I am the Self, O Gudakesha, seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle, and the end of all beings." (Bhagavad-Gita 10:20) Jesus: "The kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21) "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) On Faith and Devotion Krishna: "But those who worship Me with devotion, meditating on My transcendental form—to them I carry what they lack, and I preserve what they have." (Bhagavad-Gita 9:22) Jesus: "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24) On Renunciation and Self-Surrender Krishna: "Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear." (Bhagavad-Gita 18:66) Jesus: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30) On Eternal Life and Salvation Krishna: "One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna." (Bhagavad-Gita 4:9) Jesus: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) Both Krishna and Jesus emphasize the importance of love, duty, inner divinity, faith, renunciation, and the promise of eternal life. While their contexts and specific teachings may differ, the core messages align closely, encouraging a life of compassion, devotion, and spiritual realization… as well as devotion to the “Christ/Krishna” as the way. “The concept of limerence "provides a particular carving up of the semantic domain of love",[16] and represents an attempt at a scientific study of the nature of love.[17] Limerence is considered to be an emotional and motivational state,[9] attachment process[18][10] or even obsession.[11] It is typically experienced involuntarily[19] and is characterized by intrusive preoccupation[20][21] and a strong desire for reciprocation of one's feelings.[22][23] For Tennov, sexual desire is an essential aspect of limerence[24] but the desire for emotional commitment is greater.[25] The sexual desires of Tennov's interviewees were overshadowed by their desire for their beloved to contact them, invite them out and reciprocate their passion.[26] A central feature of limerence for Tennov was the fact that her participants really saw the object of their affection's personal flaws, but simply overlooked them or found them attractive.[27][28] Tennov calls this "crystallization", after a description by Stendhal in his 1821 treatise On Love. This "crystallized" version of a love object, with accentuated features, is what Tennov calls a "limerent object", or "LO".[29]” -Wikipedia --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

His interest was to teach leadership. Childhood Incidences:When you grow up in a family that has some Asian history, learning Western classical music is a big deal. Growing up, Alan had to learn how to play the piano. It didn't come naturally for him, and he had to put in a lot of work. Even so, he credits his piano discipline with working towards a goal and achieving it.Although he was born in the US, he was walking into an American fast food in his hometown one day, and an older man pointed him towards a Chinese restaurant that was across the street. It dawned on him that no matter how well he adapted, there would always be something to remind him that he was a foreigner.Influential Groups:Alan has had opportunities to perfect leadership in universities and the social sector, which has shaped the leader he is today. During Alan's doctoral program, his mentor, Rose Martinez, taught leadership creatively using the arts. Alan found her teaching method resonated with him.Cultural Epiphanies:While in Harbin, China, Alan caught himself making casual remarks to a teacher, not recognizing that there was a hierarchy to respect. His Japanese friend explained why his familiarity with superiors was considered rude. From his ethnographic research in Bali, and help from a cultural guide, Alan made the decision to live and work in Bali. The Balinese culture informs Alan's personal values, meditation, and teaching practice. Soapbox Moment:Alan has a calendar of leadership training offered in Bali. Exploration of the parallel plot between Sarah n Phil and author Kahlil Gibran with his beloved Mary Haskell. Maybe yin and yang truly are the most creative combo because many duos share a similar (often unwritten) story. Why love someone and choose not to "be" with them? This episode is sprinkled with excerpts from the book "Beloved Prophet" which is the correspondence and journal entries of Mary and Kahlil. Until recently, it was unknown that she played an intimate role in the editing, writing and inspiration for his book "The Prophet." Sarah reads the chapter "On Love" at the end of the episode from "The Prophet."

Avivah Gottlieb Zornberg is an internationally recognized teacher and lecturer around the English-speaking world and, each week, in multiple settings in Jerusalem, where her unique style of integrating keen readings of the weekly Torah portion with the commentaries of midrash, classical meforshim, Hasidic interpretation, and more, are supplemented by the insights she draws from philosophy, psychoanalytical readings, literature, and culture at large – the “best that's been thought and said,” as it were. Her work has inspired generations of students, and has produced a very rich body of six volumes on biblical books and themes. TRADITION's Winter 2021 issue featured her essay “On Love, Holiness, and the Other,” and, channeling the work of psychoanalyst Jonathan Lear and R. Aharon Lichtenstein, explored the “command to aspire” as an ethical imperative. That essay has now appeared as part of a larger chapter in her most recent book, The Hidden Order of Intimacy: Reflections on the Book of Leviticus (Schocken). As the Jewish world commences our annual reading of Leviticus this week the TRADITION Podcast spoke with Zornberg about her new book, the unusual way it came about, and the intellectual “atmosphere” she breathes in order to produce works of Torah scholarship that bring together such wide-ranging voices. We also discussed the troubling state of the study of the humanities in the world today and within Jewish learning in particular. The host for this episode is Jeffrey Saks, editor of TRADITION. Watch a video recording of this conversation.

On Love & Life, we're all about THRIVING in every realm of love and life! This sounds great, of course. But it also sets a very high bar—which can, admittedly, feel daunting and overwhelming. Elliott and I are here to help! As Elliott moves from Love & Life “fan favorite guest” to co-host, he'll provide expertise based on over 30 years of counseling individuals and couples. He also brings his pastoral wisdom and experience. By collaborating, we'll broaden the scope of our content—because ultimately, we can't thrive in love and life unless we nourish our mind, body, and spirit. So, while Love & Life remains focused on our relationships and flourishing therein, we'll incorporate other key concerns related to our mission: Providing conversations grounded in psych research, psychotherapy, and Biblical truth to help us thrive in love and life! Marni, Chris and Dr.Emily, get into the sticky business that is money, especially when it comes to couples. They point out the issues that surface (or don't for some) with the couples on reality TV show, Love is Blind, and ponder what we can learn from them. The situations that arise on the show mimic much of what goes on with us in our own personal lives, and we're forced to take a hard look at our own values surrounding money. When is it the right time to start talking about it? Is a prenup a no-no? Is there a deeper meaning to be gleaned from asking for one? We all wonder about how to broach the topic once things start taking a turn for the serious, but it remains a sensitive subject where we're required to tread carefully. Takeaways from this episode: When to set a financial plan with your partner Disagreeing isn't the same thing as gaslighting What's the code of conduct when it comes to talking money? Leave Open-casting in 2022 Instagram isn't a good indicator of who a person is Financial infidelity is a thing Does a Prenup Undermine the Commitment? [08:03] On Love is Blind, Marni draws our attention to two couples, Nancy and Bartiste, and Brenon and Alexa. Now with the first couple, Nancy is older and more well-established. When discussing money, she speaks of sharing their assets, and Bartiste's reaction is almost like that of the cartoon character whose eyes morph in dollar signs at the mention of money. A little worrying, but okay. With the second couple, Alexa mentions a prenup, and Brenon is open to the idea. But whether you relate more to the first couple (Bartiste's reaction was a bit of a red flag, though) or the second couple, when it comes to relationships, a financial plan needs to be set in place. At the very least, you need to be in alignment where your values are concerned. It's about looking at your non-negotiables and the core values you have surrounding money, and then discussing them with your partner. When it comes to prenups, there's no right or wrong route to take. It depends on what you feel more comfortable with. And let's break the taboo around prenups. Having a prenup isn't saying that the marriage won't work. It's more about talking openly in terms of how you'd like the income and the assets to be split, in a way that makes everyone comfortable. Because that's what'll save you from arguments around finances in the future. Is He Cheating Financially? [13:26] Hiding your wealth, or not being transparent in terms of your assets when in a relationship is financial infidelity. It's a form of deceit where you've kept a secret in the form of a hidden account, or a credit card, let's say. If you're going to share your life with someone; you're going to have to have these conversations regardless of how uncomfortable they are. And be transparent about them. You have to be courageous about it. Let's face it, talking about money isn't always pleasant but if this is the person you choose for yourself, then it's probably a good idea to get insight on their relationship with money. How did they grow up around money? What were their beliefs in relation to that? How did their parents handle the finances? Because all of this comes back as the relationship progresses. The you that's afraid today is going to be different than the you in 10, 20, or 30 years. Marni shares her own personal experience with forming a financial plan with her partner. And she elaborates that while they'd already set up a plan when they'd first started out, fast-forward to 30 years later, where they've built a whole life together, and it's time to revisit that plan. Your initial plan doesn't have to be set in stone. It changes as your relationship evolves, much like everything else. When Gender Roles Come into Play [20:35] Gender roles are constantly morphing with women gaining more independence financially, and a prominent presence within the working force. So, inevitably that plays a role in the dynamics. How you navigate that, however, is between you and your partner. But it needs to be discussed. Marni points to Raven who almost seems to expect SK to pay for everything. Even though she hammers on about being an independent woman, she expects SK, who'll be doing grad school in Berkley, to pay for both her apartment in Texas and his apartment in Berkley. She doesn't want to move in with him, but at the same time, she seems to be saying that once they're engaged, he'll have to pay for everything for her. The host and guests agree that her behavior is extreme. You can't really have your cake and eat it. Well, unless you've discussed it with your partner and he's okay with it but it's still a red flag. So…maybe don't do that. In any case though, it is important to acknowledge that your financial plan will evolve as your relationship does. And there's no one-size fits all because every couple, family, and relationship is different, but you get to choose what works for you, even if it means bringing in a professional to help you sort it out. These conversations evolve as dating progresses. So, we're talking about communication, negotiation and compromise. Today Nov 21st, marks the 15-year anniversary of my cousin Dayn taking his life. We had adopted Dayn as our brother. A phenomenal, gorgeous, handsome, funny, and grateful human being, Dayn was a light in this world and his light went out. In this episode, I'm sharing some things I've learned over the years that I would have told Dayn today – although he might be listening to me right now as well. So I'm sending all of these thoughts out into the universe today. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: On nurturing relationships On love, courage, patience, and belonging On joy, gratitude, and forgiveness On passion, purpose, and presence On acceptance and action Episode Highlights: [00:58] On Nurturing Relationships - Family first, last, and always. Blood will always run thicker than water. - There is nothing like lifelong friends. Cherish them, keep in touch, don't disappear, and don't ghost them. They will be your memory when you forget, but they will also love you always, and most often, laugh at any of your bad jokes. - Answer the phone when you know the person calling needs to hear your voice. We may not use the phone much anymore these days since we use a lot of text messaging and everything else. But when that phone rings, pick it up. [01:35] On Love, Courage, Patience, and Belonging - True love is like water. True lust is like lightning. Learn the difference. Make your choices wisely. - Courage – when you taste it, don't give up. Keep moving with it and life opens up. - It's never too late to let love in. And it's never too late to let someone love the real you. It's never ever too late in the day to tell the people you love that you love them. - Limiting beliefs – we all have them. Once you spot them, do your best to not let them take over. When you can acknowledge them, smile and put them all in the backseat. - Worthiness, recognition, belonging, attention, love – these are essential to us just like oxygen. - It's okay to be a late bloomer. Be patient, your time will come. [02:33] On Joy, Gratitude, and Forgiveness - Music – find what moves you and crank it up! - Bow down to each sunset, moonrise, and dawn… Bow down, rise up and give thanks! - Happiness is your birthright – and it is a choice. - Forgive yourself. Shame is a real killer of the soul. If you can't kick it yourself, find someone to work it out with. You are bigger than it is. [03:04] On Passion, Purpose, and Presence - Never ever let someone steal your sunshine. There will be people who feel the need to do so… detach from them and walk into the light. Find stillness somewhere. - Pause enough to look and see the goodness in others. Do this on purpose. Take time to listen. And be curious. - Find a career that is not a job. Find what turns you on and lights you up and makes you want to get out of bed daily! - Keep the past in the past. [03:42] On Acceptance and Action - You are I and I am you. We are all the same. With that, there is no judgment. - It's one thing to listen, and another thing to listen and act. Take action. Without it, there is no motion and there will be no outcome. You don't get points for holding back. Don't take yourself so seriously. We are all in this together. Finally, in the words of Dayn, dance as though no one was watching. Wishing everyone beautiful sunrises, gorgeous sunsets, and a warm holiday season!
Hi! This week we start with some pop culture popcorn: Selena Gomez has released her new documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me on Apple TV. Jas shares her thoughts and recommends this review by Adrian Horton for The Guardian. Next, news came out that Rihanna has invited Johnny Depp to be a part of the new Savage X Fenty show. We ask why Rihanna would do this to the brand and what it says after the infamous Johnny Depp x Amber Hear trial.18-year-old Heartstopper actor, Kit Connor has been forced to come out as bisexual after so-called fans accused him of queerbating. We share our thoughts on this toxic fandom trend and writer Patrick Lenton reads from his piece “Whether it's Kit Connor or Harry Styles, forcing a celebrity to come out is not progress” for The Guardian. Drake and 21 Savage have released a joint album with one song gaslighting Megan Thee Stallion after being shot by Tory Lanez in 2020. We discuss Drake's 'feminist' lyrics while he simultaneously tears down a Black woman.Next, in an era of aesthetics and endless ‘core' subcultures, are trends dead? There have been talks on the Internet about not being able to pinpoint 2022's aesthetic and pointing to the rise of microtrends as a major reason why it feels like we're in a ‘trend-less' era. We have an open conversation on the media's part to play in this, our own opinions on the matter and hear from two authors. Beccy Hill reads out her piece, 'Good and bad taste no longer exists—here's why' for Stylist UK and Crystal Andrews reads from 'NPCs & Main Characters: We're Straight Up Dehumanising Ourselves Online Now' for her publication, Zee Feed. In recommendation land, Jas loved Enola Holmes 2 on Netflix while Maggie read Dolly Alderton's advice book, Dear Dolly, On Love, Life, And Friendship. See ya next week! xo Hosted on Acast. It's our 200th episode—time to reflect on where we've been and where we're headed! My first thought is how grateful I am for the opportunity to share with you and our community. Your comments, emails, and dms mean everything to me. They let me know you resonate with Love & Life's mission: “Conversations grounded in psych research to help us thrive in love and life.” On Love & Life, we're all about the research–which is why we're so dismayed by the degeneration of science we've recently witnessed. In this episode, we discuss 3 cases of faulty science which have just come to light, starting with an umbrella study by Joanna Moncrieff and colleagues which finds no connection between depression and serotonin levels. Although many psychiatrists have doubted the “chemical imbalance” explanation of depression for years, pharmaceutical companies continue to promulgate this unsubstantiated theory because it has, obviously, greatly boosted sales of antidepressants. We examine two other instances of manipulated science including a shocking revelation that the last 16 years of Alzheimer's research has been based on falsified brain images. And, the third example surrounds the bizarre and utterly unscientific response to the COVID pandemic over the last 2 ½ years. We look to science to help us explore and uncover truth. When findings are misrepresented, it shakes our confidence, but it also reminds us we need to be discerning and savvy when consuming information—even information coming from sources we once believed we could trust. What does all this mean for Love & Life? Ultimately, it reinforces our commitment to pushing back against Big Pharma and its efforts to medicalize our every emotion! I'm so grateful for your support over these last 200 episodes. Thank you SO MUCH for being a part of the Love & Life family! https://www.bmj.com/content/378/bmj-2021-067606 https://www.commonsense.news/p/tgif-debunked-edition Moncrieff, J., Cooper, R., Stocmann, T., Amendola, S., Hengartner, M., & Horowitz, M. And when his wings enfold you, yield to him, though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you. 当爱召唤你时,请追随它,尽管爱之道路艰难险峻。当爱的羽翼拥抱你时,请顺从它,尽管隐藏在其羽翼之下的利刃可能会伤到你。And when he speaks to you, believe in him, though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.当爱向你诉说时,请相信它,尽管它的声音可能打破你的梦想,就如同北风吹落花园里所有的花瓣。For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning. 爱会给你戴上桂冠,也会折磨你。爱会助你成长,也会给你修枝。Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun, so shall he descend to our roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.爱会上升到枝头,抚爱你在阳光下颤动的嫩枝,也会下潜至根部,撼动你紧抓泥土的根基。But if, in your fear, you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure, then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor, into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.但是,如果你在恐惧之中只想寻求爱的平和与快乐,那你就最好掩盖真实的自我,避开爱的考验,进入不分季节的世界,在那里你将欢笑,但并非开怀大笑,你将哭泣,但并非尽情地哭。Love gives naught but it self and takes naught but from itself. Mark Twain Meets Don Juan “Mark Twain meets Don Juan—a delectable fusion of brains and balls!” is an observation made about Howie Gordon's book HINDSIGHT: True Love and Mischief in the Golden Age of Porn. It's true that Howie Gordon – aka Richard Pacheco – is unafraid to experience the wilds, both inner and outer. He writes with huge humor that will keep you laughing throughout his fascinating journey! On Love, Lust and Laughter, Dr. Diana interviewed Howie in 2013 and in 2015. The first time he was on a panel with Nina Hartley and Candida Royalle. In 2015, sadly, he and Nina joined Diana on air grieving the death of Candida. His longtime friend Whoopi Goldberg noted in her Foreword that he wrote in a time of storytelling with an X Rating. And what a storyteller he is! Howie spoke about his peak experiences working in the Golden Age of Porn (1969–1984), as well as what lessons he learned. “Hot & Saucy Pizza Girls” was one of his first porn films. He recalled that Candida Royalle was young and wild (she was an actress before she started her own production company Femme Productions in 1984) and he was ten years older. Howie was learning about himself and his anxieties. Even though they'd had a “rehearsal” the day before the filming when he had no problem with his erection, that was not the case when they began the shoot. Many years later, he had a chance to redeem himself as he starred with Nina Hartley in Candida Royalle's “Sensual Escape”. Even so, Howie still had a “power outage” – E.D. not noticed by most. Perhaps there was good editing! Ten years later, twenty-five-year old Nina Hartley new to the porn business, asked for an “anal rehearsal” when she was cast in “Little Anal Annie.” Howie knew Nina Hartley was different – calling herself a pro-sex feminist in an era when angry, anti-porn feminists had largely highjacked the feminist movement. He called her a “mindful wild child!” Howie told more porn movie stories including a poignant one involving “Talk Dirty to Me.” Please listen to the entire program. You will laugh and be enlightened! For example, Howie says “When sex is accepted and celebrated for the goody that it is and can be in this life, it takes on a much less obsessive place than when it is denied, vilified, or repressed.” Howie is wise and humorous. He can write funny – something he realized when he studied at the Northwestern School of Journalism, a high school summer program in 1965. Read his book HINDSIGHT – www.hindsightbook.com. Also check out his newest book “Return to Squirrel Hill: A memoir – Growing up Howie” – www.returntosquirrelhill.com and for the audio version – www.howiegordon.bandcamp.com. He reads it in his own voice. Howie admits the only reason he had a career in porn is that he can act. That made a difference because he experienced terror masturbating in front of a camera, he was not an exhibitionist, and had many bouts of E.D. performing through the years on film/video tape. As his friend (and mine) Candida said, “Richard Pacheco wasn't your typical ‘porn stud' and thank Goodness for that. He became a much beloved and sought out performer during the golden age of porn.”

Arnold Van Den Berg is a special investor and a special person. He was born in Amsterdam in 1939, several blocks from the historic Anne Frank House. Arnold's family, being Jewish, also had to hide from the Nazi occupiers. Fearful of being discovered and executed, Arnold's parents arranged to smuggle him to an orphanage as a toddler. His childhood and young adulthood were filled with difficult circumstances. Still, Arnold overcame the anger, resentment, and self-doubt to become one of the most successful investors of our time. We don't talk a whole lot about investing or money. Instead, we focus on things that have made Arnold Van Den Berg the person he is: the subconscious mind, overcoming adversity, universal knowledge, self-worth, seeking truth, and more. [02:02] – Introducing Arnold Van Den Berg [04:40] – Studying the Subconscious Mind – "there's something about the mind that we don't understand, but when you focus the mind so closely, so intensely, you get some energy out of it…that you didn't think you had." [29:30] – Using the Subconscious to Solve Problems – "only a deep commitment of burning desire and a sacrificial attitude towards that goal will be deep enough to make an impression on the subconscious mind. If that is accomplished along with the faith that it will be achieved you will never lack drive or motivation, you will be pulled by a force that will drive you relentlessly towards that goal." [40:00] – Positive Thinking – "80% of people's thoughts are negative, so you can see why people have problems…remember, the subconscious does not think; it acts. Every thought you put in there goes into a file, and the more dominant it is in there, the subconscious makes sure that it gets activated. So, if you are thinking negative thoughts, you are going to attract a blizzard of negative things in your life." [1:13:00] – Faith - "The way you get faith is to repeat your goal and visualize it over and over and over." [1:16:50] – Short-Selling – "I believe that anyone who is long and short the market understood how the subconscious worked, he would never do it." "What happens is, when you go long and short, you're dividing your mind. [1:30:00] – Self-Image - "When you were in the orphanage, and the Nazi's were out hunting the jews, and people were being cautious with you because they thought maybe it'd be discovered that you were Jewish and give the whole orphanage away, you get to feeling like you're not really wanted… you're rejected" – but - "the image of the future is the way you treat people." [1:42:00] – On Wealth: "it wasn't that I was out to make millions, but it happened. As your image goes up, your success goes up…I made more money than I ever dreamed of." "The more worthy I felt, the better it got." [1:42:00] –On Love: "Love is the highest achievement a person can achieve. Love gets rid of fear and anger. There is nothing you can do in your profession that would be a higher achievement than Love. And the truth is the doorway to love." Today I speak with Stephen Mattson. Stephen wrote one of my favorite books “The Great Reckoning: Surviving a Christianity That Looks Nothing Like Christ” Mattson attended Moody Bible Institute which moved him out of suburban St. Paul where he grew up and placed him in Downtown Chicago. Stephen Shares being challenged to better understand the complexities and varieties of the human experience there. He found his start writing in a writers club called The Burnside Writers Collective, which was founded by Donald Miller another one of my favorite authors. Well, folks, this is definitely one of the two best episodes I have ever recorded on the podcast. The guest, Kelsey Grant (@radicalselflove), is a relationship expert who helps people love better, and she does NOT hold back in this one. She spits fire and powerful truth about familial systems, boundaries, breakups, love, dating, and all kinds of other good stuff. We touch on SO MANY different topics related to relationships and there are SO MANY nuggets of wisdom in here. Plus, we laugh a whole lot. You're going to love this one. Also, some of the resources mentioned include the book Codependent No More, which I think is one of the most powerful personal development books out there, as well Alain de Botton's incredible talk at the Sydney Opera House called "On Love", which is hilarious and thought-provoking and well worth a listen. __________________________________________________ Follow me on Instagram @LongDistanceLoveBombs: https://www.instagram.com/longdistancelovebombs Sign up for my weekly newsletter! "When love beckons to you, follow [it] ... And when [its] wings enfold you yield to [it], Though the sword hidden among [its] pinions may wound you. ... For even as love crowns you so shall [it] crucify you. Even as [it] is for your growth so is [it] for your pruning." - Kahlil Gibran, On Love
In an entirely unprecedented move, I had to record an Emergency Podcast System to put at the top of an already completed episode! Join me and my husband Mike as we play and discuss not only April's #Hamildrop, #FirstBurn, but Lin-Manuel Miranda's very first draft of Burn! We talked about the draft during #Lintoberfest and thanks to LMM's endless generosity and awesomeness, The Hamilcast is the only place you can hear this unreleased draft. Needless to say, we lost our minds and you will too. Enjoy! Download and stream "First Burn" on your favorite music platform and head over to www.hamildrops.com for all things Hamildrops. /// Hamilton Broadway's Associate Company Manager Holli Campbell stopped by to drop alllllll the knowledge about how Hamilton runs smoothly, from Broadway to the growing number of companies.
