Esta semana promete ter fortes emoções em Paris. O PSG entra em campo na terça-feira (28) no Parc des Princes para enfrentar o Bayern de Munique, no primeiro jogo das semifinais da Liga dos Campeões.  Marcio Arruda, da RFI em Paris O Paris Saint-Germain é o atual campeão da Champions League e vai jogar pela terceira vez seguida as semifinais da Liga, um desempenho incomum para a maioria dos clubes, frisou técnico do Paris, Luis Enrique. "Isso é muito difícil de conseguir. Estamos orgulhosos do que fizemos até agora e queremos muito mais. Buscaremos, nos próximos anos, fazer a mesma coisa ou melhorar ainda mais", disse. "Nós sabemos que, no futuro, será difícil estar novamente numa semifinal ou até mais chegar mais adiante”, ressaltou o treinador do Paris Saint-Germain. Na fase mata-mata desta edição, o PSG passou pelo Mônaco, eliminou o Chelsea – vingando a derrota na final do mundial de clubes de 2025 – e despachou o Liverpool. Os jogadores do clube francês têm demonstrado confiança para a partida que será disputada nesta terça-feira, em Paris. O zagueiro brasileiro Lucas Beraldo, que já atuou de lateral e volante com a camisa do time parisiense, disse que o elenco está focado na Champions League. “A expectativa é sempre a melhor possível. A gente conhece a qualidade do nosso adversário, então, a gente está se preparando da melhor forma possível porque esse mês vai ser importante para a gente, nesta temporada”, contou o brasileiro. Osso duro de roer O Bayern de Munique tem sido uma pedra no sapato do PSG na Champions. Na final de 2020, o time alemão ganhou por 1 a 0 e foi campeão. Na temporada seguinte, foram dois jogos pelas quartas com uma vitória para cada lado e classificação do clube francês. Nas oitavas da edição de 2022/23, o balanço foi duas vitórias do Bayern sobre o PSG. Nesta temporada, no jogo disputado em novembro do ano passado na capital da França, nova vitória do Bayern: 2 a 1. Para a partida desta terça-feira,  o Bayern, campeão desta temporada da Bundesliga e finalista da Copa da Alemanha, terá pelo menos dois desfalques: o meia-atacante Serge Gnabry, lesionado na coxa direita e que não poderá disputar a Copa do Mundo pela seleção da Alemanha, e o técnico Vincent Kompany. O ex-zagueiro do Manchester City e da seleção da Bélgica – ele estava em campo na partida em que os belgas tiraram o Brasil da Copa de 2018 – foi punido com cartão amarelo durante o jogo em que o Bayern eliminou o Real Madrid e está suspenso para a partida em Paris. “Em termos de como vamos organizar o jogo contra o PSG, nós ainda estamos pensando. Para ser honesto, não estou feliz com o cartão amarelo que recebi no jogo contra o Real Madrid. O quarto árbitro está lá também para nos escutar", argumentou. "Em um determinado momento, teve um lance discutível e é normal que eu, como técnico do Bayern, fale com ele. Se a minha linguagem tivesse sido exagerada, eu aceitaria a punição, mas minha linguagem não foi desrespeitosa", afirmou o treinador do Bayern. "A equipe vai a Paris para buscar um bom resultado. Eu só estarei à beira do campo no jogo da volta, em Munique. Eu tenho muita fé na equipe do Bayern e na comissão técnica para não apenas continuar, como para ganhar cada vez mais força e motivação”, revelou Kompany. Mesmo com os desfalques do Bayern, o técnico Luis Enrique descartou qualquer favoritismo do Paris Saint-Germain. “Nós somos igualmente favoritos desde o primeiro dia que jogamos a Champions League. Na verdade, não é importante saber quem é favorito. O importante é mostrar em campo o seu nível, e é isso que interessa.” Apesar da boa fase, o treinador não quer nem saber se o Paris Saint-Germain desta temporada é melhor ou pior do que o PSG que foi campeão na última edição da Champions. “Isso não é importante. Eu arrisco a dizer que somos iguais. Nada mal. Eu realmente não estou preocupado se a gente é um pouco mais forte ou mais fraco. Para mim, estar mais ou menos no mesmo nível do que estávamos é incrível”, disse Luis Enrique. Mas isso não incomoda o zagueiro, que ganhou destaque no futebol com a camisa do São Paulo. “Eu acho que sou uma pessoa importante no clube, não só pela questão de jogar ou não, mas no dia a dia eu estou sempre fazendo o meu trabalho e dando o meu melhor. Cabe ao treinador escolher quem vai jogar ou não", comentou. "Minha parte está sendo bem feita e tem sido correspondida nos últimos jogos, quando eu estou conseguindo um pouco mais de minutagem. Espero ter mais essa sequência para ajudar ainda mais a equipe”, afirmou Beraldo, que fez o terceiro gol da vitória do Paris Saint-Germain sobre o Angers por 3 a 0 neste sábado (25). Tudo que eu tenho, que eu uso, você pode encontrar em  qualquer loja”, observou Kompany.  Sem o técnico humilde e bem-vestido para comandar o Bayern no Parc des Princes, o Paris Saint-Germain pode dar um importante passo para chegar a sua terceira final de Liga dos Campeões (2019/20 e 2024/25).

I drank rye whiskey in the spiritual home of American rye whiskey, the Monongahela Valley, in the cradle of the Whiskey Rebellion, Washington, PA. I tell you about how the rebellion happened, and how it ended, and how rye whiskey came to southwestern PA. Rye whiskey historian Sam Komlenic joined me for a talk on rye whiskey at Liberty Pole Spirits, and I interviewed Liberty Pole founder Jim Hough.  Sam and I also visited the revived Pittsburgh Brewing, and their Iron City Distilling facility, and talked to distiller Matt Strickland. (Of course we sampled some whiskey!) Then we went to Ponfeigh Distilling in Somerset, where they're just getting started.  I filled a few shopping bags at the Delallo Italian Marketplace in Jeannette, PA and then hit three good eats places in Washington: Shorty's Lunch, Osso's Pizza, and Al'an Ruben's. Then Sam and his wife Amy went along with me to visit covered bridges...but that didn't work out so well! Great trip to southwest PA and the Mon Valley, the heart of Pennsylvania rye whiskey!
