Sweet encouragers, aren't you so thankful for second chances? Full disclosure; Tanya and I recorded a complete podcast on Tuesday of last week and we trashed it because I forgot how to podcast. Tanya patiently waited for me to calm down for the week and this is what we like to call the “Take Two Podcast”. Excitement dominates from the beginning as Tanya speaks from the joy in her heart over the Razorback victory on Saturday. The whole city cheered and celebrated until the wee hours of the night. Woo Pig! I recap the weekend Leighton and I shared with Point of Grace and the Circle of Friends weekend. We enjoy catching up on TV and movies, as well as, Tanya's very appropriately timed cute and fun segment. I gush over Prince William, Nicole Kidman, and Bananas Foster dessert. The dogs make an appearance as we discuss their varied love languages. Theresa Rosenthal had a rough start in life. She watched her father abuse her mother, and then when she was six, a family friend sexually abused her. Like so many that suffered at the hands of a predator, Theresa pushed the pain down into a secret place, and for decades, she battled with depression and substance abuse. Finally, one day she was sitting in front of her house and just blurted out to God, “What am I supposed to do?” Within 24 hours, she had a Bible from a new friend who reached out to her, and even though some of Theresa's bad choices would land her in jail, her friend and that Bible were constant sources of healing. Today, she's a member of a loving church, and she tells anyone who will listen about God's grace in her life. Daniel 4:2 says, “I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the most high God has done for me.” Too often we are too tribal. We think God only works in our circles, but the fact is, God has always been the definition of inclusive. The Bible makes it very clear that God's grace is available to anyone in all times and places. Matthew 5:45 is a very interesting verse that illustrates this. It says, “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” That's fascinating. What might seem unusual or even unjust to us is routine for God. Because God takes the long view. He knows that our lives on Earth are brief. So if He gives grace to a bad person, He's thinking of that person's eternal place. And let's face it, there are plenty of times in our lives that we didn't deserve grace. But He gave it anyway. In God's economy, a Babylonian brickmaker from 3,000 years ago is as valuable as you are. Theresa Rosenthal was warmed by that grace at a time when she was doing drugs and spiraling into depression, and she had no ability to improve her life. And that's the point of grace. God gives it to a variety of people and circumstances. And life would be unbearable without it. Let's pray. Father God, your grace sustains us, in bad times and in good times, and we might take our focus off you. Sometimes that grace is almost unseen. We might not be aware of it until years later when looking back gives us insight. Thank you for giving us what we don't deserve. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Once upon a time, there were two friends who had so much to say to each other, their microphones caught on fire! Well, that didn't happen today, but it was close. I was with grandbabies in Virginia while Tanya was taking a CPR certification class. The takeaway? My grandbabies have my whole heart and my first aid kit needs an extreme makeover. Oh, you guys, you will never believe what Tanya did last week! She met the milestone of her 100th barre class, and she was honored by her instructor and barre mates with a party and the privilege of signing her name. I'm so, so PROUD of my friend and know you are too. Everything else we talk about kind of pales in comparison to this accomplishment, but we cover all the things and have a great time doing it. We discuss what we're watching and listening to, the games we're playing, the appointments we're making, and the desserts we're creating. When I say “we”, I mean Cliff. Shelley Breen from Point of Grace joins us today as a friend of the show! She is inspirational as she hesitantly chooses a Word for the Year just for us; she admits she normally avoids the Word of the Year game because of the disappointment that comes when she “blows it” within just a few days or weeks; however, we assure her, a) it's already March, so the year is practically halfway over, and b) we have a contingency plan because we admit up front the things that will cause us to stumble. I accuse Tanya of saying a word she shouldn't, but Shelley says it's ok, so we move on until I make a joke that Tanya calls into question. Basically, it is just one laugh after another until we circle back around and admit we need lots and lots of grace to glorify the Lord in our daily lives of loving Him and loving people. Our dear listeners! You will be so thrilled you circled up with us today for an intimate conversation with the up-and-coming Nashville superstar Darby Cappillino. This Tennessee native has been taking the music industry by storm with her incredible songwriting and amazing voice. Darby debuted her first project ‘Trying on Dresses,” in January 2019. Since then, she has released five more songs, been streamed over 1 million times, was featured on the CMT Artist Discovery Program & has been playlisted on Spotify's Wild Country and New Boots. She's still going at it with her latest release, “New Girl.” (My Spotify has been working overtime lately with this one), Darby sang her way onto the music scene in 2016 when she was featured on the hit song “You” with internet sensation Matty B. It has over 17 million views on YouTube. You will love hearing Darby's stories of falling in love with music as she grew up on a tour bus with her parents and the group Point of Grace. She shares what it's like to be a real-life Hannah Montana, juggling college and family by day while songwriting and performing on Music Row by night. Jasa's Wedding Recap Episode Part One We're a little over a week out from the ceremony, but we will treasure it forever. Jasa was stunning - DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS! Cliff was handsome and all smiles. I hope you can visit our Instagram and Facebook accounts to see it! Who was there? Who joined the wedding celebration at Amy Grant's Farm? Sandi Patti and her husband, Don, both performed for us. Point of Grace performed several songs, and Heather Payne sang Jasa down the aisle. Scott and Katy Krippayne flew in on a red-eye from Greece. Scott accompanied Sandi Patti, Point of Grace, and Heather Payne on the keys and sang an original song for us at the reception (which we will discuss with you next week!) Cliff and Jasa hosted a meet-and-greet before the Saturday afternoon wedding on Friday evening. The weather, the wedding, the entertainment, and the excitement was perfect beyond compare. God truly blessed every little detail to make this wedding SUPERLATIVELY breathtaking and memory-making. The musical, I mean the wedding, was utterly dreamy. In this episode, the Pod Squad: Tanya, Jarrett, Jennifer, and Jordan, get together to recap the meet and greet and wedding. We find ourselves meandering off on rabbit trails per usual. And surprise! You will hear from Jasa and Cliff, who are spending the next three weeks in Hawaii! Thank you for spending some of your time with us. We genuinely appreciate and humbly appreciate the gift of your presence. Join us next week for Part Two of the recap! These are some of my very favorite ladies ever. Point of Grace is a group that has been singing in my ears for decades, but the real joy was when I got to tour with them about a decade ago. They are absolutely wonderful. You're going to love this conversation with Denise, Shelley, and Leigh. Their new book How You Live is so helpful- like coffee with three really wise older sisters. 00:00 - Introduction 02:41 - Free-for-All (Animal Fights - Part Deux!) 14:10 - Main Topic (The First Commandment) On episode NINETY-THREE of Let the Bird Fly! the guys were invited to record at The Gathering Series, which is put on by The Point of Grace, a Milwaukee area campus ministry group. All four of the guys were able to make it and they were talking to college students, so of course Mike insisted that the Free-for-All be Animal Fights. But even Mike couldn't have anticipated the riveting discussion of the Great Emu War in Australia. Eventually Wade managed to pull Mike away so that we could get to the Main Topic, which was a broad discussion of the First Commandment. Thank you to The Point of Grace for inviting (and putting up with) us, and thank you to the great audience! We hope our listeners enjoy the conversation as well. If you'd like more information on the Apologetics course Mike mentioned at the beginning of the Free-for-All, you can find all that information right here. Jaime Jamgochian hails from Boston, MA, and accepted Christ while attending college at Berklee College of Music, before moving to Seattle, WA, to serve as a worship leader at one of the area churches. It was during this time that Jamgochian moved to Nashville and became the anchor artist for Centricity Music. She released four projects and had several hit singles, including the 12-week No. 1 song “Hear My Worship.” She was with the label for 10 years before striking out on her own as an independent artist. Jamgochian has led worship at churches around the world and has shared the stage with such Christian mainstays as Point Of Grace, Mark Schultz, Francesca Battistelli, and Jason Gray. Jamgochian has become known for performances and support for women's events, including her own ministry for young girls “Modest Is Hottest.” Jamgochian resides in the Nashville area. Tyrus Morgan is a Kansas native who had a passion for playing baseball while in high school, but once he inherited his grandfather's guitar there was no turning back from music. He started playing in local bands while in college and it was after graduation that Morgan made his way to Nashville. He started out the same way several artists and songwriters do in Music City, by holding down two jobs: his day gig of advertising that paid the bills and his passion at night of songwriting. Heeding his faith calling, Morgan began his full-time music ministry 18 months after moving to Nashville, which eventually led to signing with Curb Records and releasing his first radio hit, “Song to the Savior.” Morgan has also written hit singles for other artists that include “Good Fight” by Unspoken and Newsong's “The Same God.” Morgan is married with two daughters and a son. Jaime Jamgochian and Tyrus Morgan team up to release a 6-song EP, Christmastime.

From the album Free to fly, Yes I believe by point of grace.
Point of Grace talk about their new CD and working with the charity "A Soldiers Hope".
The women of Point of Grace are well-known in contemporary Christian music, but they are enjoying a taste of success with country, now, too. They are coming out with a new CD and cookbook,‘No Changin’ Us’ includes the latest Point of Grace hit ‘Come To Jesus.’ You can find that new disc, along with their cookbook online at www.Point of Grace.Net. We caught up with them at their record label on Music Row to get a sneak peek.
Point of Grace is well known in the CCM genre, but the trio is working on new music that can easily be called country. Their song "King of The World" inspired a friend of theirs to write a children's book, "Dance Me Daddy". Denise, Shelley and leigh still share a lot of time on the road, but somehow manage to keep everything in perspective.
Brand new music from Point of Grace along with some classics from Carman, Casting Crowns, Plus One and more.
