'The writing is joyful, more or less. It's painful, but it's also joyful. The marketing of it is much harder.' Dr Lucy Ryan's book Revolting Women touched a nerve worldwide: many women can relate all too well to the perfect storm of challenges facing midlife women at work, and everyone has an opinion on it. Which took a bit of getting used to. In this week's conversation, part of my series talking to this year's Business Book Awards winners, Lucy talks frankly about the learning curve when a doctoral research project becomes an award-winning, conversation-sparking business book, and how she learned to love (or at least manage) the work of promoting it. From being squeezed down to seconds in her first radio interview to talking sex, drugs and rock and roll with Mariella Frostrup, her experience and hard-won lessons are pure gold to anyone setting out to write - and promote - a business book that makes an impact.

St. Lucia aren't like regular moms and dads, they're cool parents. The husband and wife duo sat down with Mix Afternoon host Jenny V to talk about touring with their two children, taking a year off of social media, and creating an entire catalogue of music from the studio in their apartment during the height of the pandemic. St. Lucia just released their new album "Utopia" earlier this month, and you can see them live on tour right now across the US. You can sell out shows around the world and get nominated for two Grammy's, but it won't be enough to impress your kids unless one of your songs is featured in the video game Just Dance. At least Lukas Graham's kids won't be impressed. The Danish pop star sat down with Mix Afternoon host McCabe to talk about how being missed is "a sign that you're loved", going full dad mode when not on tour, and staying in shape to keep up with his kids. Lukas's new album is expected to drop in early January 2023, but until then you can hear his new single "Wish You Were Here" featuring Khalid. Getting through breakups is tough, but who better to help you navigate dating apps than the man who literally partnered (and then was kicked off of) with TInder? We're talking about the hilarious Lewis Capaldi who helped McCabe revamp his dating profiles, albeit in a more "murdery" sounding way. Lewis stopped by the studio to talk to afternoon hosts McCabe and Jenny about paying a mortgage on a house he hates, releasing music with a new sound after the pandemic, and working with his bestie/nemesis Niall Horan. Lewis has a news album coming out next year, but until then you can enjoy his new single "Forget Me" right here on the Mix. She's been compared to Kacey Musgraves but Ingrid Andress doesn't believe that she fits into just one genre. Her focus? Making music that she actually likes! Ingrid sat down with Mix New Music Club Podcast hosts Jenny V and Dash to dish on touring with Kieth Urban, preferring to tour by bus instead of plane (we're not sure if anybody has ever said that before), and how releasing her album during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic was a small blessing in disguise. Ingrid's new album "Good Person" released this past August and we can't wait to see what she makes next! Hey girl, welcome to a new episode of The Fearless Mujer! Today you are in for a special treat today because I had the honor of stopping by The Holy Mix Show to talk about my book Dear Fearless Mujer, You Were Created for More. I was also able to share about the inspiration behind Fearless Mujer. I believe you're going to be really inspired by this conversation that I had with Joe Rich who runs the show, and is also the DJ there. Let me let you know that the conversation is Spanglish. You will listen to moments where we speak Spanish and then the conversation transitions into English. You know me, I really love that we can blend both languages together! I mean seriously my book is kind of Spanglish. But either way I think you are going to love it.Tune in to The Holy Mix Show, from 8 - 10pm CST on Friday and Saturday. Listen to it from wherever you are by going to: https://lanuevadallas.com/You can also download the free app La Nueva 106.5 FM, on Apple or the Play Store. The Holy Mix Show is a high energy mix music show and girl, it's a whole vibe!Amiga, you know that my faith is such a huge part of who I am, and it's no secret that I love Jesus. Whether you believe in God or not, I really believe that this conversation that I had with Joe Rich is really going to encourage you to know that no matter what you've been through, no matter what painful thing you've gone through, there is a bigger purpose for you. I am living proof that sometimes we can go through really painful things, but yet God still has a purpose for it. Even if in this season, it doesn't feel that way, girl there is a much bigger purpose for you.I'm not here to push my beliefs, I just want you to know that there is a bigger purpose for you despite the pain, and on the other side of it, there is something truly beautiful. This conversation is real and raw. I can't say that I'm where I am because I'm the smartest. It really took a lot of faith to get to where I'm at, and I'm on the other side now. There's so much more for me in life, and there's still a lot more healing for me to experience. Today I want to encourage you to know that there's a bigger purpose for you, no matter what you've been through. Enjoy this episode and please share it with your Amigas because something powerful happens when we lift each other up!Find out more about The Holy Mix Show on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theholymixshow/I would love to know what you thought about this episode.
