Summary   Dennis Karp shares his journey of moving from the United States to Israel and the challenges in the transition. He discusses the need for marriage and relationship counseling in Israel and the growing openness to the Messiah among the people. Dennis also talks about the spiritual climate in Israel and the work his ministry does with Holocaust survivors and young believers. He shares his perspective on sending children off to war and the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic sentiments in the media. The conversation covers various themes related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the impact on families, the role of the American church, and the importance of biblical knowledge and understanding.   Takeaways Moving to a new country and culture can be challenging, especially for children who have to adjust to a new language and education system. There is a growing need for marriage and relationship counseling in Israel, and many people are open to seeking help in these areas. The spiritual climate in Israel is changing, with more openness to the Messiah and a willingness to explore faith. The ministry focuses on counseling, discipleship, and outreach to Holocaust survivors and young believers in Israel. Sending children off to war is a difficult experience for parents, but there is a sense of pride and support for those serving in the Israeli army. There is a significant amount of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic sentiment in the media, which adds to the challenges faced by the people living in Israel. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an existential war for Israel's existence, not just a war for land. The American church needs to upgrade its knowledge of scripture and worldwide politics to ask the right questions and confront false accusations against Israel. Yom HaZikaron is a day of remembrance for fallen soldiers in Israel, while Yom Ha'atzmaut is Israel's Independence Day. The Israeli educational system is facing challenges, including the dumbing down of curriculum and the introduction of biased ideologies. There is a need for biblical scholarship and literacy in the church to counter ignorance and indifference. This week, Therapist Samantha Hardy describes why developing our inner knowing will not only build our outer confidence but lead to building trust within ourselves and nudge us toward new challenges. Inner knowing is more than just a "gut feeling," it feels right, true, steady, certain and stands in opposition to outer approval. Samantha dives into the difference between inner knowing and anxiety and how to delineate between the two, as well as how to tap into those feelings to identify both triggers and ways to propel ourselves. how family dynamics take you out of contact with your inner voice the 8C's: compassion, curiosity, clarity, creativity, calm, confidence, courage, and connectedness.  What are you doing when you feel most confident, creative, and connected? What is that experience like? Where does it sit in your body? When we can more clearly hear our gut and trust in its voice, we can create lives more deeply in alignment with our bodies and hearts! This week, we focus on building stronger relationships at Burnt Hickory with our special guest speaker Shawn Stoever. Just like being on an adventurous hike, in life we have to have a guide, we choose our partners for the journey, and we will find beauty on the way. In relationships, the world's way is the wrong path leading to the need to control others, selfishness and pride, and being influenced by culture. Takin the wrong path leads to taking life too seriously, emptiness and exhaustion. We see in scripture that God's way and His paths lead to listening and understanding, enjoyment of life, and intimate connections. When we follow God's plan, we show selflessness and humility, we walk in truth, and we learn to give and share. God's plan is really so much better than the worlds way in building our relationships. What are some ways to change the path your on with your spouse or other significant relationships? As always, we'd love to connect with you as you take the next step and answer any questions you have as well as pray with you. Reach out today – burnthickory.com/next Special Guest: Shawn Stoever.
