Co-Pastor Ezekiel Perez | November 5, 2024 The Fountain Apostolic Church Build Your Church (2024) Learn more at tfachurch.com/plus Sermon Notes: Proverbs 22:6 It's possible to be a man after God's own heart, making heaven your home, but leave a mess behind of your family. Seek to understand the impact addiction & trauma plays on our children. Psalm 147:3 We ought to provide a safe & stable environment for our children. Proverbs 22:6 Our families need to heal through connection & communication. James 1:19 Provide resources for emotional & spiritual healing for our children. 2 Timothy 1:7 We ought to model a life of faith & hope to our children. Romans 15:13 King David's Failures in Emotional Availability as a Father Lack of Discipline and Justice with Amnon and Tamar Event: Amnon's assault on Tamar (2 Samuel 13:1-22). David's Response: Though angered, David took no disciplinary action against Amnon. Impact: Tamar was left without justice, and Absalom harbored deep resentment, ultimately killing Amnon (2 Samuel 13:23-29). Reflection: David's passivity led to unresolved pain and family division. Alienation of Absalom Event: Absalom avenges Tamar, kills Amnon, and flees (2 Samuel 13:37-39). David's Response: Though David longed for Absalom's return, he kept him at a distance for two years after his return to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 14:24, 28). Impact: This estrangement contributed to Absalom's rebellion and death (2 Samuel 15-18). Reflection: David's inability to reconcile with Absalom created a rift that ultimately led to tragic consequences. Neglect of Adonijah Event: Adonijah attempts to seize the throne without David's knowledge (1 Kings 1). David's Response: He had "never displeased him" by holding him accountable (1 Kings 1:6). Impact: This lack of guidance allowed Adonijah to feel entitled, leading to his eventual downfall. Reflection: David's failure to correct Adonijah reveals the need for active parental involvement and boundaries. Failure to Comfort and Engage with His Children Personally Observation: David was often distant and preoccupied with his role as king, limiting his emotional engagement. Impact: His children experienced instability, division, and betrayal, often lacking consistent guidance or support. Reflection: David's emotional absence led to destructive family dynamics, underscoring the need for fathers to provide both stability and emotional support. Reflection on David's Legacy as a Father Lesson: David's story demonstrates that even a strong relationship with God does not replace the need for attentive, engaged parenting. Takeaway: Spiritual leaders are called to balance both faith and family responsibilities, being present and available to nurture healthy relationships.

There are at least seven issues that impact our ability to “attract lasting love,” yet they are rarely talked about. Well, no more. In this series of podcasts, Roy discusses, in the most practical, down-to-earth way possible, the topics we should be talking about. These topics, and the advice you'll receive, will give you a chance to audit your life and perhaps experience a complete makeover, which will finally allow you to have success in your pursuit of intimacy. In this episode, which is part six of a 7-part series, Roy addresses our Emotional Availability. True emotional availability is having a balance between openness and boundaries. But some are open without boundaries, which leads to getting hurt, while others have so many boundaries no one can penetrate their hearts. All of us struggle with one or the other. Listening to this episode, you will learn… · why being single and social doesn't necessarily make you emotionally available; · the dangers of having “friends with benefits”; · how pickiness, red flags and a list of desired qualities are signs of being emotionally UN-available; · how to maintain a balance between openness and boundaries; · and much more! *TRIGGER WARNING -- This episode discusses themes of sexual assault. *PLEASE NOTE -- The videos we're referencing in this podcast have been removed from TikTok. If you search "Keisha and Finnikin" on TikTok you'll find some short clips, but mostly you'll see videos from other people commenting on this whole situation. The two people involved are @keishathemystic and @st.finnikin This episode is a case study in the ways that spirituality can lead to dangerous levels of spiritual psychosis. We're breaking down an intense situation that occurred in the TikTok spiritual community recently regarding two creators who we believe are both problematic. This is a difficult episode to summarize for the show notes, so we simply recommend you listen to the episode. The implications for what has occurred between Keisha and Finnikin are terrifying and damaging for the entire spiritual community. Be discerning. Protect yourself in all ways, always. Love you!P.S. In today's episode, we're talking all about emotional availability. Emotional availability is one of those terms that is thrown around a lot on social media - and it seems like everybody is on the lookout for the "emotionally unavailable" people that are to be avoided at all costs. But as always, I think it's important to approach these conversations with nuance and curiosity, before slapping labels on others and declaring them to be the problem. As we discuss in this episode, our focus on others' emotional unavailability can often mask the parts of us that are hiding behind inauthenticity. We cover:what does emotional availability (and unavailability) actually meanwhy we might be attracted to unavailability in othershow emotional unavailability can manifest differently for anxious vs avoidant peoplehow our own unavailability might be impacting our dating patterns Sign up to Healing Anxious Attachment Join my new course, Secure Together Save $150 on my Higher Love break-up course with the code PHOENIX Download the free guide: Attachment 101 Follow me on Instagram: @stephanie__rigg & @onattachment Visit my website

In this installment of The Serendipity Sessions, we're talking about hurricanes. Not only the historic (and weirdly underwhelming) Hurricane Hilary that recently took Los Angeles by storm (no pun in tended), but also the feeling of a hurricane. The hurricanes we go through in life, the ways we become hurricanes ourselves, the beauty of getting swept up by something or someone, the purpose of feeling dispersed and scattered... And the need to let go of the damage that's been done so we can truly appreciate what we're left with in the end. Ryan is fresh off his own hurricane as he records this after a saucy & sleepless night. Megan, an East Coast hurricane veteran, is well rested and provides super relevant tips for surviving hurricanes (both real and metaphorical). P.S. For legal reasons, we want to make it clear that THIS EPISODE IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE.This is also not an episode about the history of capitalism, or investment recommendations, or an exploration of the economy or financial markets. This is an honest conversation that acknowledges the multifaceted beliefs, emotions, mindsets and sensitivities people have about money. At the heart of it, money is a nuanced and personal experience. Money isn't just a currency. It's a reflection of our lives and our values. Money is a conceptual, energetic, and necessary tool to help you understand your self-worth. Because your self-worth is your net worth. In this episode, we share our personal experiences with money and share our thoughts and information about lack mindsets, growth psychology, manifestation techniques, and more. We're bouncing between topics associated with privilege, greed, jealousy and beyond to better develop a healthier relationship with money. The intersection of spirituality and wealth can make the values in our hearts collide with the demands of the material world. It's a complex subject — one that we'll tackle from multiple angles in a few different episodes over time. But as we begin the conversation with this episode, our goal is to acknowledge the profound ways money influences our lives, and help you understand the importance of viewing money beyond a tangible object. Ultimately, it's about seeing the endless wealth that exists when you tune into your authenticity."Since its creation, money hasn't been just a measure of wealth; at times it's been a symbol of our values and a test of our morality. The way in which one uses money may build or destroy one's reputation and standing in a community, and it certainly demonstrates one's character. Because money is an expression of value, it matters how it's expressed." — Kabir Sehgal***As mentioned at the end of the episode, below is a list of our recommended books about money, wealth, abundance and prosperity. Whether you want a psychological deep dive, a witchy spell book, an EFT tapping guide, a historical viewpoint, an academic approach, a metaphysical perspective, or just a practical way of better understanding money markets, budgeting, investing or otherwise, you'll be able to find something in this list that sparks your interest:“Coined” by Kabir Sehgal“The Soul of Money” by Lynne Twist“The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S. We'd like to start by thanking Brené Brown for all that she does in the world. Now that we've made that clear, let's dig into this episode's theme. In this week's deep dive episode, we venture into the intricate web of emotions and perceptions tangled up with the ideas of acceptance and rejection. On the surface, acceptance seems like a warm embrace, while rejection can feel like a sharp sting. But as we dive deeper, we realize these two concepts are not only more delicate and intricate than they appear, but they're also interconnected in complex ways. These concepts are fundamental parts of our daily experiences and the choices we make. Sometimes they seem inconsequential, but other times they're like mighty sagas that dramatically alter our spirit. Acceptance and rejection can fully alter the way we view ourselves and each other. They can dictate our outlooks, shape our expectations, and transform the way we interact with the world.Separately and together, these are experiences that forge tremendous amounts of resilience, strength and growth within us. Acceptance is not always a gentle sanctuary. Rejection is not always a merciless life sentence. They represent a specific kind of duality, but they're not always so black and white either. What might seem like two sides of the same coin could actually be more prismatic than you think.P.S. RATE US 5 STARTS PLEASE! IT HELPS SO MUCH!
