Luxury Style Mastery: 5 Days to ICONIC - Register Here Welcome, fabulous icons, to another empowering episode of Real Estate Icons! Today, we're talking about a game-changing concept that will redefine how you think about your business and yourself. Luxury. What is it? How does it show up in your life, your brand, and your client experience? Spoiler alert: it's not about selling multi-million-dollar homes; it's about creating a feeling so exquisite it becomes unforgettable. I'm Afton, your host, and I'm here to speak directly to the ambitious agent inside you. She's ready to show up bolder, more confident, and unapologetically luxurious. Together, we're unlocking a mindset shift that will elevate your brand and leave your clients raving, bonded by experiences that go far beyond the sale. What You'll Learn in This Episode Luxury isn't about price tags or possessions; it's about the feeling you create. Think intention, care, and excellence in every detail. We'll explore what it means to bring that energy forward in every interaction, regardless of the size of the transaction. And here's the twist—it starts with YOU. We'll also unpack why adopting a “Louis Vuitton state of mind” transforms your business, your confidence, and how others perceive your value. Trust me, love, this one's pure gold. The Reality of Luxury Can we get real for a second? When most people hear “luxury,” they think yachts, champagne bars, and designer bags. Sure, that's a part of it—but it's just the surface. At its core, luxury is about the feeling it evokes. It whispers, “You are worth this moment.” Imagine stepping into Chanel. The lighting caresses every surface. The sales associate treats you as if you're the most important person in the world. That care, that attention to detail, that feeling, is what we're talking about. NOW take that same energy and imagine delivering it to your clients. Whether it's their first condo or their dream estate, luxury is about how you make them feel. Energy, elegance, and excellence—that's what turns a business transaction into a lifelong memory. Key Takeaways You'll Love Luxury whispers, “You are worth this.” Understand that before you can offer it to others, you've got to embody it yourself. It's not just a transaction. Each interaction is an opportunity to create an unforgettable experience. Energy doesn't lie. Walk in with intention, poise, and confidence, and others will see your value. Luxury is personal. It's not tied to a price point. It's in the care, attention, and detail you bring to the table. Treat yourself as a brand. The way you show up for yourself reflects the way the world will show up for you. Curating your personal brand Image: The Psychological Power of Image in Luxury Real Estate The luxury real estate market isn't just about beautiful properties – it's about understanding the mindset of affluent clients. By grasping the psychology behind luxury consumption, you can position yourself as the go-to agent for high-net-worth individuals. Today, we'll explore key psychological concepts, understand the needs of luxury clients, and learn how to align your image with these principles. Let's start with three fundamental concepts in luxury psychology: The Halo Effect: This psychological phenomenon is where a positive impression in one area leads people to view everything else about you more favorably. In luxury real estate, your polished image can create a halo, influencing how clients perceive your expertise and the value of your listings. Veblen Goods: Named after economist Thorstein Veblen, these are items that become more desirable as they become more expensive. This contradicts typical supply and demand but is crucial in luxury markets. Your high-end clients often seek out these goods as status symbols. Social Proof in Luxury Markets: In the world of luxury, people often look to others to determine what's desirable. Your image and success serve as social proof, signaling to potential clients that you're a trusted expert in the high-end market. Visual cues in your appearance signal success and expertise, tapping into the client's desire for status and need for a trustworthy expert. Your well-tailored suit or expertly coordinated outfit serves as a visual representation of your attention to detail and understanding of luxury. Non-verbal communication, like confident body language and poise, builds trust subconsciously. It shows you're comfortable in luxury settings, reassuring clients of your expertise. By curating an image that aligns with luxury standards, you create a sense of exclusivity around your services. This satisfies the client's need for uniqueness – they're not just hiring any agent, they're working with a luxury specialist. 1. Identify Luxury Market Expectations: Based on what we've learned about luxury psychology, high-end clients expect an agent who embodies success, exclusivity, and expertise. This goes beyond clothing to encompass your overall presentation, communication style, and the experience you provide. 2. Assess Your Current Image: Look at yourself through the lens of luxury psychology. Does your image signal success and expertise? Does it create a sense of exclusivity? Are you building trust through your non-verbal communication? 3. Work On One Thing: Any discrepancies you've identified are opportunities for growth. Focus on elevating elements of your image that directly tap into the psychological needs we've discussed." The fashion industry would love for you to believe that being stylish is about buying all the new fashion trends. The pressure to own the latest and greatest. Making you feel like the wonderful wardrobe pieces you have worked hard to earn and love to wear are no longer relevant. Or how about this gem... Wear whatever you love. Like, if you spend enough money on the clothes you like to wear, you will somehow know how to wear them and create beautiful outfits. That is a lie. It doesn't matter if you have the wallet of the King of England, you can't buy style. Money and buying more clothes isn't your problem. It's knowing what to do with the clothes you have bought is what style is all about. That is why I am answering the questions on the podcast today: How can you dress casual and look expensive? Style is Not About Price Tags Style is about how you wear the clothes you love for your body type in the right colors. That is why I always start with color and body type dressing. Quality Over Quantity Investing in a few high-quality pieces that are versatile, comfortable, and fit well can elevate your wardrobe significantly. These key items can be styled in numerous ways, creating a plethora of outfits without needing to constantly buy new clothes. Accessorize Wisely Accessories are your best friend! A simple outfit can be transformed with the right accessories. Belts, scarves, jewelry, and even hats can add that extra oomph to your attire, making it look more polished and put-together. And the best part? You can find stunning accessories at every price point. Thrifting and Upcycling Don't underestimate the power of thrift stores and vintage shops. They are treasure troves of unique pieces that can add character and flair to your wardrobe. Plus, upcycling — the practice of transforming existing pieces into something new — is not only budget-friendly but also environmentally conscious. It's 2024. It's time to erase these outdated myths that are keeping you from feeling stylish For more insights and practical tips on mastering the art of looking expensive yet casual — especially as a realtor braving the warm weather — tune in to this week's podcast episode. We'll deep-dive into how you can put items together that exudes sophistication without emptying your wallet. Your style should be a reflection of who you are, and remember, confidence is your best accessory. Here's to looking fabulous and feeling great, no matter the budget! Also, it's been quiet over on the podcast because I am in the process of rebranding the podcast from the Midlife Style School to Realtor Style School. This is the last of the Midlife Style School podcasts that I have recorded before the rebranding. Take note, I already updated the podcast name. This girl doesn't delay once she makes a decision. This is because they tend to focus on external changes rather than addressing the root causes of dissatisfaction with one's appearance. They create an illusion of change, but beneath the surface, nothing has truly shifted. That is why I coach my style clients, not just style them. Join the style challenge Facebook group to watch the style challenge videos: https://www.facebook.com/groups/styleguidesociety How to Style the Little White Dress for a Timeless Luxury Look With the arrival of spring 2024, it's time to refresh your wardrobe and embrace the latest fashion trends. As a woman in midlife, your sartorial elegance is the hallmark of your success in professional and personal spheres. This year's trend of 'quiet luxury' calls for a reimagining of classic pieces, and there's no better canvas than the all-versatile Little White Dress (LWD). Transforming simple into stunning, discover how to infuse timeless elegance and opulence into your LWD this season. Embracing the Little White Dress Your Little White Dress is more than just a seasonal staple; it's a blank canvas of versatility. It embodies sophistication and the purity of style. When chosen thoughtfully, an LWD becomes the cornerstone of a powerful, yet feminine wardrobe. Choosing the Perfect Little White Dress Select a well-tailored LWD that flatters your figure. Look for quality fabrics like cotton, silk, or linen, which not only feel luxurious but also hold their shape. A modest hemline and sleeve length lend a graceful quality, perfectly suitable for your refined image. Connecting with Quiet Luxury The essence of 'quiet luxury' is in the details. Opt for simpler designs with subtle adornment – perhaps a delicate lace overlay or a minimalist beaded neckline. The idea is not to shout elegance but to let the whispers of finer craftsmanship speak volumes. Spring 2024 Trends This spring brings a fresh take on classic styles, focusing on pieces that exude opulence through understated details. Incorporate these trends into your LWD ensemble to strike the perfect balance between modern and timeless. Monochrome Magic Embrace the monochrome trend by pairing your LWD with accessories in similar shades. Rich creams and subtle beige tones play with light to create an effortlessly elegant look. A beige leather belt cinched at the waist complements the dress and emphasizes your silhouette, while a cream-colored handbag or clutch adds a sophisticated touch. Statement Accessories It's all about the accessories this season. A chunky, gold-link bracelet or a pair of chandelier earrings can turn your LWD into a show-stopping ensemble. The key is to let your accessories be the exclamation points in your outfit, anchoring your look in the trends of today without overpowering the timeless essence of the LWD. Comfy-Chic Footwear Comfort meets luxury with the trend of low-heeled, strappy sandals. Opt for nude or metallic tones to keep the focus on your dress. These sandals offer all-day wearability, making them a practical yet stylish choice for your professional engagements and social events alike. It's also about choosing the right colors for your branding photography. The colors you choose can have a significant impact on how your brand is perceived, and they play a crucial role in forming clear visual identities for marketing materials. Here are two essential tips we discuss: Choosing the Best Colors for Branding Photoshoots: The colors in your photos should align with your brand's aesthetic and message. They should evoke the emotions you want associated with your brand and fit with your visual identity. In this episode, we dive into the resurgence of wide-leg jeans and how you can incorporate them into your wardrobe. Whether you're 20 or 60, we believe style has no age limit and everyone can rock this trend. We discuss: The cyclical nature of fashion: How trends from past decades make a comeback. The return of wide-leg jeans as a reaction to the dominance of skinny jeans. Wide-leg jeans and age: How anyone, regardless of age, can rock wide-leg jeans. The importance of fit and comfort. Balancing your outfit: Tips on creating a balanced silhouette with wide-leg jeans. How to choose the right length for your jeans. Style tips for wearing wide-leg jeans: From finding the right fit to pairing with the right tops, shoes, and washing options. Examples of dressy wide-leg pants and where to wear them: We explore different styles of wide-leg pants like Palazzo Pants, Suiting Trousers, High Waist Wide-Leg Pants, Evening Wide-Leg Pants, and Jumpsuits with Wide-Leg Pants. Wide-leg pants in the workplace: Can high-profile women wear wide-leg pants to work? Yes, they can! We share some styling tips to maintain a professional look. Additional Points: Wide-leg pants offer the best of both worlds with a high waist and flowy fabric. They provide comfort without compromising on style. To prevent your outfit from looking too casual, focus on fit. Even oversized pieces like wide-leg pants should be tailored properly. When styling wide-leg pants for the office, it's suggested to pair them with a work-acceptable bodysuit or a close-fitted top rather than a crop top. This helps maintain a professional appearance while balancing the volume of the pants. Wide-leg pants can be flattering as they give the illusion of an hourglass figure. Tucking in your top or keeping it short can further enhance this effect. For an even more polished look, consider cinching the waist with a belt. Most importantly, remember that any woman, regardless of her size, can wear wide-leg pants. They're great for women of all ages, heights, and body shapes as they accentuate the waist. Avoid Too Much Volume: If you're wearing wide-leg pants, it's generally recommended to balance them with a fitted or tucked-in top. An oversized top paired with wide-leg pants can create too much volume and may not flatter your figure. Consider Your Height: While petite women can certainly wear wide-leg pants, the proportion is key. Opt for high-waisted styles to elongate the legs and avoid pants that are too voluminous or long, as they can overwhelm a petite frame. Mind the Occasion: Wide-leg pants might not be suitable for certain activities or settings. For example, if you're going for a hike or doing any activity that requires a lot of movement, wide-leg pants might not be practical. Similarly, in very formal settings, a more tailored silhouette might be preferred. Choose the Right Shoes: The type of shoes you wear with wide-leg pants can greatly impact the overall look. Flat shoes might make the pants appear too long, especially if you're shorter. Heels or platforms usually work well with wide-leg pants as they add height and prevent the pants from dragging on the ground. Fit is Key: Regardless of body type, wide-leg pants should fit well at the waist and hips. Pants that are too tight or too loose may not give the desired look. Remember, fashion is about expressing yourself. Don't be afraid to experiment and make the wide-leg jeans trend your own. Happy styling!
Start your professioinal Glow-up Here: 1:1 Consultation The Professional Glow-Up: Assessment of Your Image Are you feeling stuck in your career? Do you need a change but don't know where to start? A Professional Glow-Up Assessment might be just what you need. In the grand theater of life, each one of us is a protagonist, a leading character with a unique role to play. And just like in any great drama, our costumes - our personal style - can speak volumes about our character before we even utter a single line. The Hunger Games", a dystopian franchise, used costumes as a critical element in illustrating the stark contrast between the impoverished districts and the wealthy Capitol. But beyond mere aesthetics, our personal style choices can significantly impact how we perceive ourselves, make decisions, and ultimately lead our lives. Your personal style is an external reflection of your inner self. When you dress in a way that authentically represents who you are, it boosts your self-confidence. You feel more comfortable in your skin, ready to take on challenges head-on. For example: Vera Wang: She didn't start her fashion career until she was 40. Her transformation from a figure skater and journalist to a high-fashion designer involved adopting an elegant, minimalist personal style that is now synonymous with luxury and prestige. This shift in image played a role in her becoming one of the most successful designers in the world. Julia Child: Julia didn't start cooking until she was nearly 40. She adopted a sophisticated and approachable style, both in her kitchen attire and her on-screen persona. Her unique style and warm personality helped her connect with audiences, leading to her success as a cookbook author and television show host. Arianna Huffington: Arianna co-founded The Huffington Post when she was 55. Known for her chic suits and pearls, she cultivated a sophisticated and professional image that added credibility to her innovative news platform, contributing to its immense success. Martha Stewart: Martha built a brand based on her unique style and approach to home decor, cooking, and crafts. Her transformation from a caterer to a lifestyle guru involved adopting a clean, polished, and homely style. Her first book, published at age 41, marked the start of her homemaking empire. By transforming our personal style, we can effectively enhance our personal brand and boost self-confidence. This not only improves public perception but also paves the way for professional success and financial growth. If you're trying to determine whether it's time to update your professional image encompassing your attire, style, hair, makeup, and overall personal brand, here are some pointers to consider: Shifts in Goals or Values: Changing personal or professional objectives can signal the need for a brand refresh. If your current image doesn't seem to align with these changes, it's probably time to consider an update. Comfort and Confidence: If you don't feel confident or comfortable with your current professional image, that's a sign it may be time to revise it. Your personal brand should inspire self-assuredness. Consistency: Consistency is key in personal branding. If you notice inconsistency across different platforms or in-person interactions, then you might need to streamline your image. Narrative: If your personal brand lacks a clear narrative or fails to communicate your unique story, it might be time to reconsider your presentation. Professionalism: Consider if your appearance matches the level of professionalism you wish to project. If your look seems unprofessional or out of sync with your industry's norms, it might be time for a change. Current Trends: If your image feels outdated or no longer excites you, a refresh could be beneficial. Keeping up with contemporary styles and trends can help maintain a modern, engaging image. Life Changes: Major life events or significant changes in your career direction often warrant a reevaluation of your personal brand. How do you think others perceive you professionally, and does this align with how you want to be perceived? If you love your answer than congratulations. If you know you need to elevate your personal style & image, click the link in the show notes to schedule a 1:1 consultation with me and lets start elevating your personal brand image! Remember, your personal brand isn't just about how you look—it's a reflection of who you are, what you stand for, and how you portray yourself to others. Regularly assessing your personal brand ensures it remains authentic, relevant, and aligned with your current goals.

No, it is the power of a Personal Brand Image. A personal brand image is essentially how you present yourself to the world. It's a unique combination of your skills, experiences, and personality that you want others to see. It reflects who you are, what you stand for, and what you offer. It's like your personal signature that distinguishes you from others in your industry or field. In the professional sphere, having a strong personal brand image is invaluable. Here's why: Differentiation: In a competitive market, a well-defined personal brand can set you apart from others. It helps you stand out by highlighting your unique capabilities and experiences. Credibility and Trust: A consistent personal brand helps build credibility. When people perceive you as a reliable authority in your field, they're more likely to trust you and your services. Career Advancement: A strong personal brand can open doors to new opportunities. It can attract attention from potential employers or clients and position you for promotions or partnerships. Increased Value: By showcasing your skills and expertise through your personal brand, you can command higher fees or salaries. People are willing to pay more for a recognized expert in the field. Personal Fulfillment: Personal branding allows you to be true to your personality, preferences, and values. It gives you the power to shape your own narrative rather than letting others define it for you. In essence, your personal brand image is a critical component of your professional success. It's not just about self-promotion, but about establishing your identity, building a reputation, and positioning yourself as a leader in your field. A well-crafted personal brand image allows you to present yourself confidently and authentically. It makes it easier for others to understand your value, which can lead to new professional opportunities. Curate Your Personal Brand Image: The Wardrobe Audit A "wardrobe audit" is a process where you evaluate the clothes you currently own to understand how they align with your personal style and image. It's an essential step when considering a reinvention of your personal brand image. Here's how it works: Inventory: You start by taking stock of every item in your wardrobe, from everyday wear to special occasion outfits. Evaluation: Next, you assess each piece based on factors like fit, condition, comfort, and how often you wear it. This also includes evaluating whether each item reflects your desired personal brand image. Sorting: After evaluation, you sort your clothes into different categories such as keep, donate, sell, or repair. Identifying Gaps: Once you've sorted your wardrobe, you'll have a clear idea of what's missing. These gaps could be essentials that you lack, pieces that could enhance your personal brand image, or items that could add variety to your wardrobe. Creating a Shopping List: Based on the gaps identified, you create a shopping list. This ensures future purchases are strategic and contribute to your personal brand image. Fall is upon us, signaling a time of change in both the weather and our wardrobes. Often, this change includes the addition of a new handbag. Selecting a new handbag can sometimes be overwhelming, given the vast array of choices available. That's why in this week's episode of the Midlife Style School podcast, we're exploring the art of handbag selection. We'll discuss three key factors to consider when choosing a handbag to ensure you always look polished. Listen Here Handbags serve as an extension of our personalities and style, and can even uplift our mood. But did you know that the size and color of your handbag can significantly impact your overall look? Choosing a handbag that is proportional to your body size can enhance your silhouette, making you appear more put-together. Here's a fun tip: match your handbag with your hair color for a unique, coordinated look. Brunettes might opt for rich browns or blacks, blondes could choose pastel shades or bold reds, while redheads could go for greens or earthy tones. In this episode, we delve into these aspects and more. We discuss how different handbag styles can complement various body shapes, and how to select a design that flatters your figure. The Art of Handbag Selection Part 1: Scaling your handbag to your body size When choosing a handbag, it's important to consider your body size. The size of your bag should balance your proportions and not overwhelm your frame. If you're petite, look for smaller bags that won't drown you out. If you're tall or curvy, go for medium to large-sized bags that can balance out your shape. Also, pay attention to the strap length - shorter straps work better for shorter-height body types. Part 2: Matching your handbag to your hair color Did you know that matching your handbag to your hair color can create a cohesive and polished look? If you have blonde hair, try pairing it with pastel shades or bold reds. For brunettes, rich browns or blacks can be a great match. If you've got red hair, greens or earthy tones are the way to go. Part 3: Picking a design that flatters your body shape Different handbag styles can complement different body shapes. For curvier figures, structured bags with clean lines can help streamline your silhouette. If you're more petite, try a bag with vertical designs to elongate your torso. Remember to also take into account the occasion and purpose of the bag - a formal event might require a clutch while an everyday work tote needs to have room for your essentials. Choosing the perfect handbag can seem daunting, but following these simple guidelines on scaling, color and design can make things a whole lot easier. By matching your handbag to your body type, hair color and outfit, you're sure to look and feel your best. Thank you for tuning in to the Midlife Style School, think like a style icon!
Book a 1:1 Consultation Call: Click Here Welcome to another episode of the Midlife Style School where we are delve into the exciting intersection of fasshion & mathmatics, a concept buzzing on social media called "Girl Math". In this episode, we'll explore how "Girl Math" can help us better understand the real cost of clothing and accessories. We'll also share some tips on how to shop smarter and more efficiently using the principles of "Girl Math". Topics Discussed: Understanding "Girl Math" "Girl Math" is a trend that encourages consumers to consider the long-term value of a purchase rather than just the upfront cost. The primary tool used in "Girl Math" is the cost-per-wear formula, which is calculated by dividing the price of an item by the estimated number of times you'll wear it. The lower the cost-per-wear, the better the value. Applying "Girl Math" to Fashion Purchases This approach can be particularly useful when shopping for clothing and accessories, as it shifts focus from the initial price tag to understanding the real value and longevity of an item. However, it's important to use "Girl Math" responsibly and not as a justification for overspending or purchasing items that are beyond one's means. Tips for Shopping Smarter with "Girl Math" Set a budget before you start shopping to avoid impulse purchases. Prioritize quality over quantity, investing in fewer, high-quality pieces. Calculate the cost-per-wear to understand the true value of an item. Consider the versatility of items and invest in classic pieces. Take good care of your items to extend their lifespan. Always remember, the goal is to make more sustainable and thoughtful decisions, not just to find an excuse to shop. Key Takeaways: "Girl Math" can be a valuable tool for consumers to better understand the real cost of clothing and accessories. It promotes mindful shopping and encourages a shift towards quality and sustainability. By applying these principles, you can make smarter shopping decisions that benefit both your wallet and the environment. Schedule a free mini session HERE Today, we're threading together an intriguing narrative around a subject that impacts all of us - the deep-seated connection between our self-image and the clothes we choose to wear. Let's embark on this journey together! Each one of us has a unique self-image, an internal portrait of who we believe we are. This image is shaped by a myriad of factors, including cultural norms, media portrayals of beauty, personal experiences, and societal expectations. These elements intertwine to form our sense of self, which interestingly, often manifests in our clothing choices. I recall a time when my wardrobe was a mirror of my self-esteem. Back in the day, baggy clothes were my armor against the world, allowing me to blend into the background. However, as I worked on my self-image and embraced my individuality, my attire started reflecting these changes. I began opting for more vibrant, fitting attire that mirrored my newfound confidence. Our clothing choices act as a visual representation of how we perceive ourselves. When we wear something that amplifies our self-image, it boosts our confidence, making us feel more comfortable in our skin. However, it's crucial to remember that while fashion can be a form of self-expression, it should not dictate our sense of worth. Our value lies within us, not in the labels we wear. Here are some practical tips to help you align your clothing choices with a positive self-image: Dress for yourself: Choose clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable. Experiment: Don't hesitate to try out different styles. You might discover something new about yourself! Set your own trends: Don't let fashion magazines dictate your style. Create your own unique look. Remember, clothes are an extension of who you are, not a definition of your worth. As we conclude today's episode, remember that your wardrobe is a canvas for your personality. So dress in a way that reflects the true you! Thank you for joining me today. Find out what's stopping you from feeling more beautiful: free mini-session Have you ever looked in the mirror and felt less than beautiful? Perhaps you've spent hours trying to perfect your look, running from one shopping trip to the next for that 'magic' makeover. You may have even considered plastic surgery - anything, just to try and feel good about yourself. But despite all these efforts, do you still feel like something is missing? If so, it might be time to take a look inside yourself instead of just searching externally - because no matter what kind of makeover we can offer; true beauty starts within. In this podcast episode, we'll explore how self-love is key in unlocking our inner beauty - and step away from being reliant on external factors that just don't last. The journey to feeling beautiful is a process. We can tend to the outside all we want and still not feel beautiful on the inside. Understanding why we can't make ourselves beautiful by changing our appearances and delving into what lies beneath the surface is how true beauty blossoms. When packing for a summer trip to Paris, keep in mind the city's chic fashion, unpredictable weather, and the importance of comfortable yet stylish attire for exploring the city. Here are some packing tips to help you prepare with tips from my trip to Paris: Lightweight layers: Parisian weather can be unpredictable, so pack light layers like cotton or linen shirts, blouses, and cardigans that can be easily added or removed as needed. Stylish outerwear: A lightweight trench coat or stylish jacket is perfect for cooler evenings or unexpected rain showers. Don't feel like you can only wear neutral colors like beige, navy, or black to easily match with your outfits. Wear color! Comfortable shoes: Paris involves a lot of walking, so bring comfortable and fashionable shoes such as ballet flats, loafers, or stylish sneakers. Avoid heels or open-toed sandals, as they may be impractical for cobblestone streets. Versatile bottoms: Pack a mix of skirts, dresses, and pants that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Choose breathable fabrics like cotton or linen for added comfort. Accessories: Bring a few scarves or lightweight shawls to add a touch of Parisian flair to your outfits. They can also double as cover-ups for visits to religious sites or protection against the sun. Compact umbrella: A small, portable umbrella is essential for those unexpected summer showers. Electronics and adaptors: Don't forget your smartphone, charger, and a power adapter suitable for European outlets (Type C or Type E plugs). Remember to pack light and choose versatile pieces that can be easily mixed and matched to create various outfits. Embrace the Parisian style by opting for dresses or skirts with white fashionable shoes, classic patterns, and chic accessories. Bon voyage! Choose a vibrant color like cobalt blue or emerald green and create an entire outfit around it. This not only makes you look chic and put together, but it also helps you stand out in a crowd. Power Suits: The power suit is making a comeback, and it's perfect for midlife women professionals. Opt for suits in lighter fabrics and summer-friendly colors. Pair your suit with a sleek blouse or even a graphic tee for a more casual yet still professional look. Wide-Legged Pants: Embrace the wide-legged pants trend by pairing them with a fitted blouse or blazer. This creates a balanced silhouette that's both comfortable and stylish, perfect for meetings and networking events. Asymmetrical Necklines: Asymmetrical necklines are a great way to add interest to your outfit. Try incorporating this trend into your wardrobe with dresses or tops that feature unique, off-center necklines. Statement Sleeves: Make a statement with voluminous sleeves this summer. Look for blouses or dresses with puff sleeves or bell sleeves, which can add a touch of drama and sophistication to your outfit. Mixed Prints: Don't be afraid to mix prints and patterns! Start by pairing similar colors or patterns of different scales. For example, try wearing a floral skirt with a striped blouse in complementary colors. Midi Dresses: Midi dresses are both classic and on-trend for summer 2023. Choose a dress with an A-line or wrap silhouette to flatter your figure, and opt for bright colors or bold prints to make a lasting impression. Layered Jewelry: Layering necklaces, bracelets, and even rings can add depth and interest to your outfit. Experiment with different lengths, materials, and styles to create a unique look that's all your own. pml Statement Sunglasses: Invest in a pair of statement sunglasses to elevate your summer style. Look for oversized frames or unique shapes to help you stand out and protect your eyes from the sun's rays. Comfortable Heels: Finally, consider investing in a pair of comfortable, stylish heels. Block heels and wedges are great options for midlife women professionals who want to add height without sacrificing comfort. Incorporating these summer 2023 style trends into your wardrobe will not only help you appear stylish and memorable but will also attract high-paying clients who appreciate your attention to detail and sense of style. Remember, your personal style is an extension of your professional brand, so don't be afraid to embrace these trends and make them your own.

Watch Unlock the Power of Color to Create Standout Style in Midlife Here: https://www.styleguidesociety.com/color Enclothed cognition is a term used to describe the psychological effects that clothing has on the wearer. It suggests that what we wear can have a significant impact on our self-image, emotions, and performance. This theory was developed by Adam Hajo and Adam D. Galinsky in 2012 in their study “Enclothed Cognition.” The concept of enclothed cognition states that the symbolic meaning of what we wear can affect our psychological processes, such as self-esteem and confidence. This means that when someone puts on a piece of clothing, they may feel empowered or successful due to its connotations. Furthermore, research has shown that clothes which are associated with higher social status can increase feelings of power and motivation. The concept of enclothed cognition has been used in a number of studies to examine how clothing affects performance. For example, researchers have looked at the effect that uniforms may have on students' academic performance and found that wearing a uniform had a positive influence on achievement. Similarly, another study found that wearing formal business attire had a positive effect on people's negotiation skills. These findings suggest that clothing can have a powerful psychological impact, as well as an aesthetic one. Wearing clothes which you feel comfortable and confident in can help to improve your self-esteem, performance, and overall wellbeing. So don't forget to dress for success! Not only can your clothing help you to look the part, but it can also make a difference in how you feel and perform. I use the science behind enclothe congition in my style coaching practice on various aspects as we design their life and style for their next level of success.

Invest in high-quality pieces like a tailored blazer and trousers or skirts that flatter your body type. These timemidlifeless items will help you look put together while allowing you to feel comfortable all day long. You can also add an element of personality with printed scarves and statement jewelry [e.g., a long pendant necklace or a bold cuff]. Casual Wear: When you're off the clock but still have places to go, invest in well-fitting denim pieces like bootcut jeans or chic trousers, plus quality basics like t-shirts and sweaters. Look for interesting details such as side stripes, embroidery work, or embellishments for added personality. Accessorizing: Accessorizing is a great way to take any look up a notch without overwhelming yourself with choices. Choose one statement piece such as a bright bag or colorful statement earrings that won't take too much time to pair with the rest of your outfit each morning. Remember the power of neutrals – they can make any accessory “go” with most wardrobes! Hair Care: Having good hair days is essential when it comes to looking polished at work. Invest in quality products meant specifically for your hair type [e.g., Frizz Ease Extra Strength Formula Deep Treatment] and find simple styles that complement your face shape [e.g., high ponytails for round faces]. Learn why it is essential for women of all ages to seek out professional help in order to develop the skills needed to dress with confidence. Today we are diving into a topic that needs to be discussed: Why is it that seeking help to navigate through life seems to be taboo after graduating from high school or college? Let me set the stage for you. When we were younger, we had teachers and coaches to guide us, teach us, and help us develop the skills and knowledge we needed to succeed. But once we finished college, it seems we are on our own. We are expected to be experts in everything from cooking to fashion, to even adulting as a whole. And let's be honest, just because we get dressed every day doesn't mean we know how to create outfits that are best for us. But we think we should know, we think there's something wrong with us when we don't. But let's shift that mindset, shall we? Fashion is an art, just like cooking, painting, and architecture - it takes time to develop the skills and knowledge to truly master it. Even doctors practice medicine with the skills they learned at school, and let's not forget, we were taught how to put our arm through clothes, use snaps and buttons, but not how to style ourselves. We all have to eat every day, and preparing meals for ourselves and others is an essential part of life. But have you ever considered that cooking is also an art? It requires a deep understanding of ingredients, techniques, and flavors. So why is seeking the help of a chef or cooking classes seen as a weakness, when it is really an investment in developing a valuable skill set? The same goes for fashion and style. We should not feel ashamed or embarrassed to seek the help of professionals, or even friends who have a natural flair for fashion. Don't limit yourself to a limited view of what style is, and instead, let yourself be open to new methods of expression and creativity. So let's end this podcast with a reminder: it's okay to ask for help, it's okay to not know everything, and it's okay to invest in yourself at any age. Life is too short to not indulge in the things that bring us joy and help us express ourselves fully. Keep slaying, my midlife ladies, and stay stylish!
Book A Color Analysis Schedule a Free Style Breakthrough Call Learn about the Midlife Style School: https://www.styleguidesociety.com/styleschool Hey there lovelies, it's your personal stylist and coach here to talk about why you need to trust yourself before you try to create amazing outfits. Have you ever found yourself hesitating to trust your own style sense? Maybe you second guess yourself and always need to ask for advice when it comes to putting outfits together. Well, you're not alone. Many women struggle with this same issue. But the truth is, if you don't trust yourself, you're never going to be truly confident in your style. That's where coaching comes in. As a certified life coach and personal stylist, I use the model of thought work to help my clients build true confidence in themselves. We believe that our thoughts create our feelings, our feelings drive our actions and our actions give us the results. Our actions don't affect our thoughts, it's the other way around. So, if you want to be confident in your style choices, you need to start by thinking confident thoughts about yourself. And that's where trust comes in. Let me give you an example. One of my clients used to dread shopping. She would rush through the store, avoiding the dressing room, and always end up feeling frustrated and unhappy with her purchases. But, after some coaching, we discovered that the real issue wasn't that she didn't like shopping, it was that she didn't trust herself to pick out great outfits. Does that sound familiar? It's all too common. But the good news is, with some coaching and practice, you can learn to trust yourself and feel confident in your style choices. So, the next time you're getting dressed or heading out to go shopping, take a moment to check in with yourself. Are you second guessing your choices? Are you doubting your own style sense? If so, it's time to start doing some thought work and practicing self-trust. Remember, you're amazing just the way you are. Trust yourself and your style choices will follow suit. Thanks for listening, until next time, think like a style icon! Learn about the Midlife Style School: https://www.styleguidesociety.com/styleschool Many women in midlife face stereotypes that they are too old or not capable of reaching the same success as younger generations. Fortunately, this is not true! Women in midlife truly have powerful advantages that allow them to thrive personally and professionally. First, let's start with what midlife actually is - it usually begins somewhere around age 40 - 65 and marks the transition from your younger years into middle age. Commonly referred to as “the midlife crisis,” many people associate this period with feelings of depression, insecurity, and stress. But rather than dreading this period of life, why not look at it as an opportunity? Experienced: Women over 40 have an abundance of life experience under their belt. They can draw upon this wisdom and past experiences to inform decisions and navigate challenges with more ease than someone who may be younger and less experienced. Connection/Friendships: Women over 40 tend to have strong social networks made up of loyal friends, colleagues, family members, and business associates who offer support when needed. And because many of these connections have been built over time, they often come with a greater degree of trustworthiness than relationships formed recently or quickly. Financially Secure: Many women over 40 have achieved financial freedom due to years of hard work and dedication towards building successful careers and businesses. This financial independence allows for more freedom to take risks, pursue dreams, and invest back into themselves or others without worrying about the financial consequences if things don't go as planned. Independent: Women over 40 tend to be independent decision makers due to the combination of decades worth of life experiences which has afforded them the confidence needed to make choices that serve their own best interests without fear of judgement from others or worry about conforming to societal pressures or expectations from family members or other sources that often influence decisions made by people who may still be very young adults trying to find themselves in life's journey . Health Conscious: Women who are over 40 typically take better care of their health since they understand it is important for them live longer healthier lives so they can enjoy what comes next during this season of life since it often offers some exciting new opportunities within relationships, career paths & investments etc ….. all while becoming wiser & often more adventurous too ! In conclusion, even though midlife can come with its challenges such as hormonal shifts or an identity crisis, women are still able to rise above these challenges by leveraging the unique advantages this period brings about for strong female leadership within their industry.
