Kieran and Matty D take a break from predicting upcoming Blockbusters and attempt to beat Hollywood to the punch, by coming up with their own ideas for movies. Their twelfth challenge: coming up with a spin-off movie for the "Star Wars" franchise. But who will have the better concept? WARNING: This podcast may contain potential spoilers (but then again, it may not).
This week we're getting in the spirit of the Mandalorian, Rogue One, and Solo and talking about which Star Wars characters we'd want to see in their own spin-off stories. Only this time, we're aiming for the deeper cuts. Which team of minor Star Wars characters would you most like to see in their own film trilogy? We also break down the changes coming to The Walking Dead and our thoughts on Shane's return. To say Solo: A Star Wars Story's reception last month was lukewarm would be an understatement. Despite generally favourable reviews, Lucasfilm's latest Star Wars Spin-off failed to ignite the box office. Was the summer scheduling to blame? Or is this just a movie nobody wanted? Verstehste.
See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Hey everybody, there’s a Star Wars a-comin’! I don’t know if there’s as much excitement for the Solo: A Star Wars Story as there has been for the past few Star Wars movies. At The Water Cooler: Peter binge watched Evil Genius on Netflix Brad went to the CCFF for some movies, started watching Marvelous Mrs. Maisel In The Mail Bag: Shaneez writes in that we should “definitely give Expanse another try. It's a great show that is seriously underrated. Because not only is it great sci-fi but the political undertones and how it relates to the American political system is great. The Martians (humans settled in Mars) represent the right of center political spectrum whereas the people of earth are what you could call the center left and the belters are the actual poor people being used by both sides for their political gain. I would go as far to say it's the Game of Thrones of space without the excessive violence and nudity and things do happen in each episode unlike Game of Thrones. The Expanse has to be enjoyed for its broader political undertones along with the Sci fi and action. I hope you and your team give it a try. And I'm bummed they cancelled it. One of our favorite podcast hosts, Matt Wyatt of the This Is Not It show, joins us to discuss the upcoming Star Wars spin-offs that are going to get forced fed to us like some cruel Willy Wonka-esque prank, whether we want it or not. Then we pitch our REALLY GOOD ideas for the Star Wars spin-offs that they're probably going to use because were really smart! And as many of you know, Clint and Mundy are from Houston and all three of the TTA Boyz are from Texas so they spend the first few minutes of the show as #SeriousBoyz and ask for donations for their beloved city. Tittens, please donate what you can and please spread the word for donations. We love you all. In this episode we pair a full review of Gareth Edwards' Rogue One with a look back over the history of Star Wars spin-offs, including a fiercely contested recommendation of the two made-for-TV Ewok movies.
