Send us a textDo you remember about this time last year when we had Kit and Trevor Johnson here on the Montana Outdoor Podcast? Your host Downrigger Dale and his fishing buddy the Captain talked to them about the great big Kokanee Salmon that they had been catching on Holter and Hauser Reservoir. Many of you wanted to know how they were finding and catching those great big, beautiful Kokanee Salmon so we thought we would run that podcast again for those of you that did not get a chance to hear it or who did hear it but wanted to get a refresher course on how to find and catch those. Cause after all, starting now and continuing through June is a perfect time to get out and fish for those. You might also recall when Rigger talked to FWP Fisheries Biologist Adam Strainer on the Podcast (click here if you want to hear that podcast ) about the mysterious disappearance and eventual return of Kokanee Salmon to Holter and Hauser, but we had no idea that they were so huge! Talk about a comeback! It is doubtful anyone else knew either, but Kit and Trevor spent hours and hours out on those reservoirs targeting Kokanee and found out just where to find them and how to catch them and now when you listen to this week's podcast you will know too! As Trevor said on the podcast, “these are true world class Kokanee!”. This truly is one of the most exciting and informative podcasts we have ever done so DO NOT MISS OUT! One of the main things we learned is it is all about finesse when going after these incredible fish so listen carefully or better yet book a fishing trip with Kit or Trevor and learn firsthand from these pros. You will have a blast and learn a TON! If you would like to see an example of the dropper ball setup that Trevor talks about on the podcast to target the big Kokanee and to see some pictures of Kokanee that he and his clients have caught, just click here. Well, this is a new one for us! Listeners have blown up The Montana Outdoor Podcast site, so we have held last week's podcast over for yet another week! Thanks to all of you that shared this podcast so much that we just had to keep it going so everyone can keep listening and learning from the incredible discussion that your host Downrigger Dale and the Captain of the Montana Outdoor Radio Show had with Kit and Trevor Johnson of Kit's Tackle Outfitters. I have never seen Kokanee that big!”, “I have never heard of the Dropper Ball Method for catching Kokanee!”, “They caught those in Holter and Hauser Reservoirs!?”, “This was such great information! Thank you!” and the comments have not stopped rolling in! Again, thank you all for listening and sharing this great information. As Downrigger put it, “That was such an incredible job of explaining that Kit and Trevor did. Trevor Johnson of My World Outdoors is this week's guest on the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast. Trevor is a southwest Oklahoman who has a passion for whitetail deer and is fortunate enough to get to hunt elk on a consistent basis near the Wichita Mountains. Trevor and John start off by talking about some of the differences in hunting whitetails on opposite sides of the state, and the two surprise each other with how different deer act in the big timber versus the open mesquite country. While the terrain and some behavior varies, there are also several traits that seem to remain true no matter where you chase mature whitetails. The second half of the episode focuses on the special and rare Oklahoma elk. Trevor is fortunate enough to have access to some amazing elk hunting opportunities that are hard to find. He talks about the different methods he has used to hunt them over the years, and how they have opened the doors to opportunities in the outdoor industry. This is a great episode with a great guy that you won't want to miss. Check out the Sportsmen's Empire Podcast Network for more relevant, outdoor content! Learn more about your ad choices. Raised in the predominantly white and middle-class area of Pinner, Trevor was one of the few black students in his school. Trevor embraced this difference and saw it as an advantage. He became head boy at school and felt that being ‘different' meant being unique and he thrived in his school environment and early life. In 1998, Trevor began his career at Ipsos in the post room, eventually becoming a graduate trainee. After that, he moved to Ernst and Young as a Business and Strategic Analyst, and then to AOL moving up to Head of Consumer Insights. In 2008, while backpacking up a mountain in Argentina, Trevor received a call from Facebook. He flew back for a 15-minute interview and, shortly after, had to cut his travels short in order to start his new role at Facebook a month later. During this time, Trevor met his mentor Blake, who has since guided him through his career. In 2012, Trevor experienced a major change when his mentor Blake called to tell him he had a new job role in New York and needed an answer that same day. Trevor returned to his desk and messaged his wife Ali, to which she replied, "I guess we're moving to New York then." Trevor is now Head of Marketing for Global Business Solutions, EU at TikTok. Trevor is also an Independent Non-Executive Director on the operational board of the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA), he is a mentor to the England Rugby Football Union (RFU) team and is on the global advisory board of Soho House Group. To hear Trevor's advice on using your difference as an advantage, the best mindset for progressing your career and how to push the industry forward, listen to this episode of ‘How I Became'. Trevor is in his last year of his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management at Manchester University. Ray Patrick with guests Trevor Johnson, Angela Robinson, Claudia Walsh and Zenya Greenawaydiscuss this week's talking points:1.In the light of the sentencing of the Manchester bombing, some say we should bring back the death penalty. Where do Christian’s stand on this? Is it biblical?2.With our churches not opening for the foreseeable future, should we turn our churches into wellness and community churches instead of the buildings just standing dormant and inactive?3.With the death of the young Sudanese boy crossing the English Channel this week, we have found many refugees are both Christians and children. Is it right for Christians to be involved in these illegal methods and risk lives for “a better life”? Is God pleased?4.With so many young people being anti-church or of no denomination, how do we save our youth?

Importantly, both professors debunk the maligned theory that vaccines cause autism (spoiler: they do not). Eric Neilson and Trevor Johnson give great insight living their nomadic multi-lingual lives as professional ice hockey players. In the final part of The Forecast takeover, Eric Neilson attempts to sing the national anthem: "God Save The Queen of England...she is gorgeous and beautiful". That's the remix version apparently.... Manchester Storm's match announcer Jon Hammond's keyboard playing is described as "between Elton John and Ray Charles", there's a surprise call to one of the other players, and why does Eric breathe in when he's speaking? Eventually, he moved back home to Manitoba where he performed around Winnipeg. In 2010, he won a QX 104 FM songwriting contest with first prize being a trip to the CMAs in Nashville. After finishing up his EP Footsteps in the spring of 2013 with Nashville producer Dick McVey, Trevor has been busy performing wherever he can. He headed back to the studio in early 2014. This time he recorded in Calgary with 2013 Western Canadian Recording Engineer of the Year Johnny Gasparic at MCC Recording.
Music was always a part of TREVOR JOHNSON’s life growing up on a farm in Manitoba. Singing along to the tractor's crackling AM radio stations always helped pass the time as he worked out in the field. Everywhere he had to get to was always a distance to go so cassettes and eventually CDs helped the miles go by faster. On his playlist? Lots of AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Northern Pikes and even Vanilla Ice. In his early twenties, he picked up his Dad's old out of tune guitar and was determined to play it no matter how hard it's well-worn condition made it to play. When he finally broke down and spent a couple hundred bucks on a cheap Yamaha acoustic guitar from Mother's Music, he wished he had done that months earlier! When he overcame his stage fright and performed Love Me by Collin Raye at a small town charity event, the reaction he received from the crowd surprised him. From then on, he was asked to perform at various events in the community. In 2009, Trevor made the move to Nashville - after many visits - to immerse himself in songwriting.
