Zu Gast ist Valentina, eine energiegeladene, freudestrahlende Künstlerin aus Berlin. Man sieht ihr nicht an, dass sie jeden Tag Schmerzen aushält. Sie hat die chronische Schmerzerkrankung Fibromyalgie. Was das mit ihr macht und wie sie es schafft, damit umzugehen, erzählt sie in dieser Folge. Ihre sogenannte Leiche im Keller liegt bei ihren Eltern. Deren Erwartungen entspricht Valentina – unverheiratet, tätowiert und ohne „ordentlichen Job“ – in keiner Weise. Weder mit dem narzisstischen Vater noch mit der eigentlich süßen Mama ist eine offen-ehrliche und wertschätzende Kommunikation möglich. Valentina wird 1989 in eine katholische, italienische Großfamilie hineingeboren. Das ADS-Kind erlebt viel Müll: Trennung der Eltern mit 13, Rassismus, Mobbing und häusliche Gewalt. Als rebellische Jugendliche lebt sie eine Zeit lang auf der Straße und auch im Heim. Doch sie findet ihren Weg, geht in die Eigenverantwortung. Bei allen Herausforderungen hat sie diese fiesen körperlichen Schmerzen, ist immer müde. Es braucht drei Jahre, bis sie eine Diagnose dafür bekommt. Doch Valentina lehnt die Opferrolle bewusst ab und zeigt nach außen nicht, wenn es ihr schlecht geht. Wie geht das? Maximilian, Nina und Roman sind beeindruckt. Zusammen sprechen sie über Glaubenssätze, ungerechtfertigte Ansprüche von Eltern und Valentinas humorvolle, kreative Strategie. Welche Praxistipps hat sie, sich zu befreien? Valentinas ersten zwei Schwangerschaften enden beide nach nur wenigen Wochen. Die Ärztin rät ihr, sich an eine Kinderwunschklinik zu wenden, weil sie nicht daran glaubt, dass Valentina eine gesunde Schwangerschaft ohne Hilfe austragen kann. Trotzdem versuchen Valentina und ihr Partner es noch einmal und sie wird wieder schwanger. Als sie zur Ärztin geht, um die Schwangerschaft bestätigen zu lassen, stellt diese einen hohen Wert des Schwangerschaftshormons Beta-hCG fest, kann aber auf dem Ultraschall keine Fruchtblase erkennen. Die Ärztin vermutet eine Eileiterschwangerschaft und schickt Valentina sofort ins Krankenhaus. Auch die Spezialisten im Krankenhaus können auf dem Ultraschall nichts erkennen und raten zur sofortigen Not-Operation, aber Valentina hat das Gefühl, dass alles in Ordnung ist und lässt sich gegen den Rat der Ärzte aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen. Als sie drei Tage später zur Kontrolle wieder ins Krankenhaus fährt, ist auf dem Ultraschall in der Gebärmutter eine Fruchthöhle zu erkennen. Die Schwangerschaft ist also intakt. Valentina nimmt im ersten Trimester Hormone und die Schwangerschaft bleibt bestehen. Valentina und ihr Partner bereiten sich mit Hypnobirthing auf die Geburt vor und wünschen sich eine natürliche Geburt ohne Interventionen. Im zweiten Trimester fühlt sie sich großartig, aber im dritten hat sie sehr oft starke Übungswehen. Diese treten vor allem abends und in der Nacht auf, sodass sie nur noch wenig schläft und bereits vor Beginn der Geburt sehr erschöpft ist. Als Valentina ein paar Tage nach dem errechneten Termin zu ihrer Ärztin zur Kontrolle geht, hat sie wieder regelmäßig Wehen. Das CTG zeigt, dass die Herztöne des Kindes nicht ideal sind und Valentina soll sofort ins Krankenhaus. Sie ist voller Vorfreude auf die Geburt ihres Kindes. Im Krankenhaus erholen sich die Herztöne ihres Kindes, aber die Wehen werden immer heftiger, ohne dass sich der Muttermund öffnet. Irgendwann bricht unter der Erschöpfung Valentinas Kreislauf zusammen und sie ist zeitweise sogar bewusstlos. Zwar wird sie vom Krankenhauspersonal wieder aufgepäppelt, aber die Wehen haben aufgehört und es kommt zum Geburtsstillstand. Valentina wirft ihre Vorstellung von einer natürlichen Geburt und von Hypnobirthing über Bord und entscheidet sich für einen Kaiserschnitt. Dieser soll aber erst am nächsten Morgen stattfinden. Valentina möchte aber nicht über Nacht im Krankenhaus bleiben, in dem sie sich nicht wohlfühlt und lässt sich erneut gegen den Rat der Ärzte entlassen und fährt mir ihrem Partner nach Hause. Die Nacht über hat sie vereinzelt Wehen, dazwischen kann sie sich aber ausruhen und sogar noch einmal schlafen. Am nächsten Morgen fahren sie wieder ins Krankenhaus und gegen Mittag kommt dann ihr Sohn per Kaiserschnitt zur Welt. Valentina erlebt die Stimmung im OP-Saal als locker und freundlich und kann sofort nach der Geburt mit ihrem Kind bonden. Doch in den folgenden Tagen und Wochen geht es ihr sehr schlecht. Sie hat starke Schmerzen an der Narbe, die immer wieder aufplatzt und sich entzündet. Erst als sie ihren Geburtsbericht anfordert, findet sie heraus, dass es während des Kaiserschnittes zu unerwarteten Komplikationen gekommen ist und dass ihre Narbe nicht fachgerecht zugenäht wurde. An Open Secret is an American documentary film directed by Amy J. Berg exposing child sexual abuse in the film industry in California. The film features interviews with victimized performers, who were targeted when they were young boys, as well as industry figures, the predators themselves, and journalists. Wikipedia Berg decided to make the documentary after she was approached by Matthew Valentinas in 2011. Valentinas and Gabe Hoffman wanted to make a film about victims of sexual exploitation. Valentinas said, "We chose Amy because we didn't want it to be exploitative or tabloid. We wanted it to be empowering for the victims."[4] Matthew Valentinas, an entertainment lawyer, came up with the idea when he heard #CoreyFeldman talking about his sexual abuse as a child actor in a TV interview.[5] Berg's 2006 film Deliver Us from Evil, a documentary on systemic child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, had been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. This week I produced one of my most in depth podcasts with Matthew Valentinas who is one of the producers of "An Open Secret". An Open Secret is one the most shocking documentaries i've seen in years and its slated as the "Film That Hollywood Doesn't Want You To See".  This incredible documentary investigates the dark situation at The Digital Entertainment Network (DEN) which was an early version of what Netflix was to become in terms of online content. Matthew and his team tell the stories of a number of young men who were child actors at the time and how they were reportedly groomed and abused whilst producing content for the platform, it is believed that was the main reason for the platforms creation.  In the film the boys, now young men, talk about Mark Collins Rector and his partner Chad Shakley who along with a young Brock Pearce (Now in Bitcoin) had arranged numerous parties for the young boys at the M&C estate where the acts are said to have been committed as well as elsewhere during that time. The film covers the impact of this horrifying ordeal on the young men in later life.  What makes this even more astounding is that this "project" was funded by the Biggest Names in Hollywood such as Dave Geffen who is the business partner of Stephen Speilberg at Dreamworks and Bryan Singer who is the director of XMen and someone who had numerous accusations against him. There are also links to Microsoft and Disney.  The founder Mark Collins Rector is now a convicted Sex offender who has appeared to gone off grid as nobody seems to know where he is.  In this fascinating interview Matthew Valentinas he talks about the making of the documentary, his ongoing research into Hollywood and those that run it today as well as just why this is truly the film that Hollywood Does Not Want You To See, thus they had to self distribute the film. This week was a hunt. I had to track down a rare bird. Usually indigenous to the Los Angeles area, this pit master has been cooking BBQ on the west coast for years and representing Texas with the quality and pride that the great city of Los Angeles deserves. He’s a neighborhood source of brisket for executives and moguls in Hollywood. He spends his days selling million dollar homes and his nights cooking that good ol Texas Cue. His name is Burt Bakman. The creator of Trudy’s Underground BBQ. A true underground BBQ source in the LA area that he decided to make legit under the name Slab. He now resides where Oprah’s favorite bakery used to be on third street in Beverly Hills. He’s walking distance from Uncle Paul’s Deli and in the center of one of the largest cities in the world and he comes all the way to Texas just to make sure he’s cooking the food right. Also on this episode you’ll hear from a guy named Adam @adamcomplains on instagram. He’s an enthusiast that I also saw this morning at Valentinas so I know he’s legit. Look out for him in the LA scene. Patrick and Erin Feges stop in to talk about their restaurant and their baby that’s due in a month. Robert Lerma hops in and out of the conversation adding only exactly what you’d expect from him while taking world class photos in between. And Leonard Botello the fourth also joins us and discusses his upcoming restaurant opening and how the city of Houston is making opening a restaurant very difficult. It’s hard out there for BBQ.
