The gang is finally back together again. Jonathan is back from his trip with plenty of stories and a little perspective. The boys come out of the gate with the announcement of a future news article that's in the works. They take a trip down memory lane and recap a few fun stories from the early shows. JD tells everyone about his Tennessee trip and why he probably won't be moving there. These two jump right back into their usual flow and discuss a myriad of topics. They close the show with a little Walking In Memphis and songs that bump. Enjoy the show gang.

Victor Anderson reflects on a busy weekend (six broadcasts in three days) and how he still has his voice in check, unlike a prominent NFL broadcaster.

Sorry to keep keeping you waiting. Life's a little funny sometimes So the Sleeping One continues to rampage through Town. No one is really loving that, but it got me thinking about the other big strange beasts that have come around in the past. Maybe if we can understand those creatures, we can understand the Sleeping One. So if you know anything about strange beasts, or have any experience getting really big to fight them, give us a call. It's common knowledge that any mysterious tape you find on the ground or in the sewer or whatever will either be Marc Cohn's hit song "Walking In Memphis" or, if you're lucky, it'll be Truck Stop Lover by The Little Tulips. As a Southerner, it pays to have a thick skin. Folks from other parts of the country at times think less of us. This is of course due to the many stereotypes about our beloved Southland, many of which paint us as an ignorant, uneducated, backward, and sometimes incestuous people. On the same token, we have our stereotypes about the Yankees up North being snobby, pretentious, city-slicking prudes that tend to ruin everything once they head down our way. The existence of these stereotypes is common knowledge to anyone from both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/native901/message
Me and my piano in rock style. After a relatively boring week of feeds things finally heated up Friday night. First off, Memphis wasn’t exactly happy that Christmas saved Ian in the Safety Suite competition. After all, Ian was one of Memphis’ targets. The look on Christmas’ face when Memphis complained to her was priceless. Then the drama really went down when Memphis nominated David and Nicole Anthony. Despite the fact that Nicole didn’t follow Memphis’ request of playing in the Safety Suite and he used that in his nomination speech, Nicole broke down because she felt betrayed. But then David also broke down in tears. But was it planned. We play some clips that indicate that may indeed be the case. There are two other major themes of the evening. One is the anger and lack of trust that Memphis’ alliance members have in him because he refrains from loudly babbling over and over his plans. That leads to the other theme of Danielle being…well, a brat. Besides a great gift of being able to lie on demand, she also just can’t handle people doing whatever she wants at the moment she wants it done. Could this lead to the demise of her alliance with Memphis? Oh […]

Do you remember how you felt when you first heard Walking In Memphis, the seminal debut from Marc Cohn, which would ultimately become his signature song. Marc joins host Robin Milling to celebrate the 25th anniversary of that song, and talks about his memories and inspirations from his songwriting vault in Careful What You Dream: Lost Songs And Rarities. A consummate storyteller, Marc tells Robin wonderful stories behind such songs as Ghost Train and Silver Thunderbird, along with oldies but goodies he has released on this newest collection; among them Nowhere Fast, From The Faraway Nearby, and Maestro. Oddly enough Marc has never been able to read a note of music but the talent for weaving words and music has shaped him into the prolific songwriter he is today. Stay tuned for much more from Marc Cohn, including writing his memoirs some day, a possible Broadway show, and of course, the music. For more information visit http://marccohn.net/
