Harold Doby III grew up in Georgia with a mother who worked as a correctional officer and a father who was secretly a drug dealer — and when his father was sentenced to 19 years in prison Harold was seven years old and sports became the thing that kept everything together. He had his first child at 16, went on to play Division 1 and Division 2 college basketball, played overseas until an injury ended his career, and then fired a single shot from his licensed firearm in self defense during a bar altercation he says he was not a part of — and watched that decision produce a nearly $200,000 restitution order, 20 years of probation, and eventually a 45 year prison sentence when job loss and injuries made the restitution impossible to pay in the time the court required. _____________________________________________ #justice #selfdefense #truecrimecommunity #prisonsentence _____________________________________________ Thank you to CASH APP for sponsoring this episode: Download Cash App Today: https://capl.onelink.me/vFut/ksjh06pb #CashAppPod Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank. AI is no longer a future consideration for nonprofit and ministry leaders. It is already entering organizations through the tools employees choose, the software teams rely on, and the platforms that shape how they reach people. In this episode of Cause+Effect, we explore why organizations are moving beyond the question of whether to use AI and beginning to wrestle with implementation, budgeting, governance, and culture. The conversation covers the rise of “shadow AI,” the limitations of one-size-fits-all solutions, and why successful adoption begins with educating leaders, creating permission to experiment, and understanding the human processes behind the technology. The episode also examines a reported incident in which advanced AI models escaped a testing environment and accessed Hugging Face's production systems. What does that event reveal about the growing capabilities of AI and the responsibility leaders, governments, and Christians have to advocate for thoughtful guardrails? AI cannot simply be ignored. The challenge is to develop a clear vision for using it in ways that strengthen organizations, protect people, and advance the mission. Ken and Anthony argue the NFL's rejection letter isn't really about Sorsby specifically, it's a public message that the league will crush anyone who tries to fight its gambling-related decisions the way Sorsby fought the NCAA. They draw a comparison to Terry Rozier's NBA betting scandal, noting nobody's stopped wagering on the league despite it, and conclude the NFL's real motivation is protecting its own corporate gambling partnerships rather than any consistent integrity standard. Ken pushes back hard on critics who call lawyering up a character flaw, insisting that's simply what anyone with means does in this country. They close by teasing a separate Cavaliers trade angle, revealing the Celtics have interest in a Cleveland player for Jaylen Brown, but it isn't Donovan Mitchell.

FTI provided economic analysis for VTB in litigation, but, knowing VTB was sanctioned, used a law firm as an intermediary to invoice and receive payment, which OFAC said does not avoid liability because prohibitions apply to indirect transactions as well as direct ones. OFAC doubled the base penalty of $525,000 explicitly to promote future compliance by similarly situated companies, signaling strong disapproval of “middleman” structures. The case also involved unpaid invoices that became an impermissible extension of credit to a sanctioned entity, highlighting the need for rigorous contract and payment-term review beyond basic sanctions screening and for dedicated sanctions expertise. A retired British couple sailing in the English Channel found themselves in the crosshairs of a Russian warship — and then they accused the MoD of trying to bury the story. Rear Admiral Chris Parry, former Royal Navy Commander, cuts through the noise to explain exactly who was in the right, why Russian captains are paranoid about suicide vessels, and why Britain's hollowed-out frigate and destroyer force means we simply cannot go toe-to-toe with the Russians when it matters. With arson attacks on the Prime Minister's home, the seizure of a shadow fleet tanker, and now live fire in British waters, the question is no longer whether Russia is testing us — it's whether we have anything left to test back with. Then, rebel Labour MP Karl Turner — who lost the whip for standing up to his own government — gives his blunt verdict on Keir Starmer's disintegrating authority. With the Macclesfield by-election looming and Andy Burnham waiting in the wings, is Labour heading for a coronation or chaos? JT explains why Josh Allen proved he is the undisputed best quarterback in the NFL, how Josh Allen carried the Buffalo Bills despite zero help from the run game, and why this was a Superman-level performance that stats don't fully capture. JT also breaks down how the Jacksonville Jaguars played well enough to win but simply had no answers for Josh Allen when it mattered most. If Josh Allen keeps playing reckless but controlled football like this, JT explains why the Buffalo Bills have their best Super Bowl window yet.

You're listening to American Ground Radio with Stephen Parr and Louis R. Avallone. This is the full show for January 8, 2026. 0:30 We kick off today's show with Washington's factory fraud. JD Vance’s announcement of a powerful new Assistant Attorney General—armed with nationwide authority to prosecute welfare fraud, immigration fraud, business fraud, and government waste—is the moment the era of slap-on-the-wrist accountability finally ends. With billions already exposed in places like Minnesota and trillions in potential waste on the table, the Trump-Vance team is putting real enforcement behind the Department of Government Efficiency and cutting off the financial incentives that fuel illegal immigration and benefits fraud. No more lawfare, no more fake oversight—this is the federal government getting serious about protecting taxpayers and restoring the rule of law. 9:30 Plus, we cover the Top 3 Things You Need to Know. The House passed a bill today authorizing the extension of Obamacare subsidies. The state of New York is planning on providing free daycare for children under 2 years of age. California, Superior Court judge Israel Claustro pled guilty to one count of mail fraud in conjunction with a worker's compensation scheme. 12:30 Get Performlyte from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 13:00 We're pulling back the curtain on the OnlyFans economy and why it’s exploding in the middle of an affordability crisis. While Americans say they’re struggling with inflation, groceries, rent, and healthcare, the U.S. alone is now spending billions of dollars on online pornography, with OnlyFans revenue still climbing, not slowing down. We dig into the darker side of the digital age—how porn monetizes loneliness, isolation, and insecurity, teaches people to tie their worth to their bodies, and replaces real human connection with paid digital fantasy. The takeaway is unsettling: this isn’t just about adult content—it’s about a culture quietly being reshaped by big money, tech, and emotional emptiness. 16:00 The American Mamas take on the Minneapolis ICE shooting that left a woman dead after a chaotic confrontation with federal agents. Terry Netterville and Kimberly Burleson break down what really happened, why video evidence matters, and how political rhetoric, media spin, and calls to “resist ICE” are putting lives in danger. We ask the hard questions about law enforcement, activist incitement, and personal responsibility, while also recognizing the tragedy for the woman’s family. If you'd like to ask our American Mamas a question, go to our website, AmericanGroundRadio.com/mamas and click on the Ask the Mamas button. 23:00 Ken Jennings, the Jeopardy champion turned host, jumped into the political fray with a social-media swipe at President Trump and the Trump administration. What Jennings posted wasn’t just criticism, but a call for political vengeance, the kind of rhetoric that’s already tearing the country apart. It's a stark contrast of Alex Trebek's steady, apolitical legacy and proof that being brilliant with facts doesn’t automatically make someone wise. 26:00 We Dig Deep into President Trump’s warning to the military-industrial complex, after he blasted major defense contractors for overpaying executives and shareholders while under-delivering for national security. It's a closed, cushy industry that’s lost its edge—too little competition, too much comfort, and not nearly enough urgency. China churns out more than a hundred ships a year while the U.S. barely manages a handful. Trump isn’t just talking about money—he’s demanding a wartime mindset, forcing contractors to reinvest in factories, workers, and real production instead of stock buybacks and bloated paychecks, because complacency in defense doesn’t just waste dollars—it risks the country’s survival. 32:00 Get Prodovite Plus from Victory Nutrition International for 20% off. Go to vni.life/agr and use the promo code AGR20. 32:30 We take on Stephen A. Smith’s reaction to the Minneapolis ICE shooting, where he said the officer was justified—but should have “shot the tires instead.” But real-world policing doesn’t work like TV, especially when an officer is being run over by a car on icy pavement. We explain why officers are trained to shoot center mass, not tires or limbs, because missing in a split second can be fatal. Tragedy wasn’t caused by the officer—it was the result of a protester making reckless, deadly choices, while commentators safely second-guess from the sidelines. 35:30 President Trump decided to pull the U.S. out of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and that's a Bright Spot! The IPCC has long blurred science and politics, pushing alarmist conclusions that its own data doesn’t support while silencing dissenting research. The agency exists more to control policy and funding than to report honest science. Trump’s move to withdraw from the IPCC—and dozens of other UN groups—cuts off money to institutions that undermine U.S. interests and putting America first. 39:30 We take on the AOC–Jesse Watters dust-up, where a crude offhand joke from the Fox News host has now turned into a full-blown political grievance. Watters’ comment about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Stephen Miller was dumb and unnecessary, but does it really rise to the level of “sexual harassment” the congresswoman claims? December 15 is the deadline to sign up for Affordable Care Act plans that begin January 1. Congress remains at odds over letting expanded tax credits for the plans' premiums expire, dramatically increasing the cost of insurance for millions of Americans. Meanwhile, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. continues to remake vaccine policy to reflect ideology rather than science. Sheryl Gay Stolberg of The New York Times, Anna Edney of Bloomberg News, and Maya Goldman of Axios join KFF Health News' Julie Rovner to discuss those stories and more. Also this week, Rovner interviews Georgetown University professor Linda Blumberg about what the GOP's health plans have in common.  Plus, for “extra credit” the panelists suggest health policy stories they read (or wrote) this week that they think you should read, too: Julie Rovner: The Washington Post's “Rural America Relies on Foreign Doctors. Trump's Visa Fee Shuts Them Out,” by David Ovalle.  Anna Edney: Bloomberg News' “Abbott Fired a Warning Shot on Baby Formula — Then Launched a Lobbying Blitz,” by Anna Edney.  Sheryl Gay Stolberg: The New York Times' “The Married Scientists Torn Apart by a Covid Bioweapon Theory,” by Katie J.M. “It's a phenomenon unseen since the 70s when inflation and economic upheaval followed close behind,” says Joel Litman, chief investment strategist at Altimetry.Gold and U.S. stocks are both rallying, a rare alignment that reflects a unique market environment. “You can have a situation where gold does very well because every other part of the world has turbulence and crises… and yet still have the S&P 500… doing very, very well because they're driven by earnings and profits, not necessarily what's happening from the rest of the world,” Litman explains. With hundreds of stocks doubling this year alone, he calls it a “Goldilocks for gold and stocks” scenario, highlighting opportunities for investors to balance safe-haven assets with high-growth U.S. equities. “You say, all right, so I have some of my portfolio in gold and some of my portfolio in stocks that are doubling,” Litman concludes, underscoring a historic moment for markets.✅ FREE RESOURCESDownload The Private Wealth Playbook — a data-backed guide to strategically acquiring gold and silver for maximum protection, privacy, and performance. EPISODE 103 - “ELEANOR PARKER: CLASSIC CINEMA STAR OF THE MONTH” - 9/01/25 This week, we celebrate our Star of the Month: the extraordinary ELEANOR PARKER. Known as “the woman of a thousand faces,” Parker built a remarkable career defined by range, subtlety, and strength. From her Oscar-nominated turn as a wrongly imprisoned woman in Caged, to her quietly powerful presence as the Baroness in The Sound of Music, she consistently defied typecasting and brought nuance to every role. But behind the glamour was a private, fiercely independent woman whose legacy has too often been overlooked in Hollywood history. Join us as we dive deep into the life, career, and enduring mystique of Eleanor Parker—a star who truly deserves to be remembered. By August 23, they were issuing an order that they had to slaughter 41,000 head of cattle. Not because of a disease outbreak, but BECAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING In Denmark, they adopted an EID mandate. And last year they imposed a $100 a head tax on every single head of cattle in the country, not because of a disease outbreak, BECAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING ” “So what you start seeing is how they use this information. This is a $1.2 - $1.9 billion tax on the cattle industry if it's actually implemented a 100%” double standard: Small ranchers must tag every animal while mega-feedlots get exemptions. The numbers tell the story—$15,000 per operation in new equipment costs, hitting 89% of independent producers. This isn't about safety—it's about control. When USDA tried similar rules in 2019, courts blocked it. Now they're back, adding costly requirements while beef prices soar 12.2%. Real reform means tracking government overreach, not cattle.
