Today we're continuing the Behind the Mic series, and I'm so excited to share this conversation with my friend Ali Feller. I know for a fact that almost every one of you listening right now probably tunes into her podcast too—the Ali on the Run Show. Like Tina Muir and I, Ali and I grown up in this ... more »
Let's go back a couple of years. It's 2017 and Ali Feller is a writer, runner, self-described talker, and she's sitting in her living room in her house with a microphone, an idea, and a whole lot of enthusiasm. She doesn't have a fancy studio, a producer, and any guarantees that anyone is going to listen. What she does have is a belief that runners, pros, weekend warriors, and people chasing something big have stories that deserve to be told. So she starts talking, listening, and asking really good questions.Today, the Ali On The Run Show is the biggest running podcast in America. It's downloaded millions of times a year. It's where elite marathoners, Olympians, and everyday runners come to share their journeys – whether they're chasing gold medals, breaking barriers, or just figuring out how to balance running with the rest of their lives. At the center of it all, this endlessly curious, deeply passionate, and incredibly warm person has built not just a podcast, but a community. But Ali's story isn't just about the show and the podcast; it's about resilience. It's about saying yes, even when it's scary. It's about navigating Crohn's disease, pregnancy, motherhood, and most recently, a breast cancer diagnosis, all while showing up, microphone in hand, ready to tell the next great story. Through it all, she's been a race announcer, a marathoner, a friend to just about everyone in the running world, and somehow the nicest person in America. So how did she do it? How did Ali go from a kid who loved dancing to magazine editor to podcaster with sell-out live shows, an engaged audience, and a voice that runners turn to every single week? That's what we're going to find out today. I'm joined by my wife Kari Lynn to chat with Ali Feller on how she built the Ali On The Run Show into the biggest running podcast out there.Hosts: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on Instagram + Kari Lynn Cotone-Chavez | @karilynncotone on InstagramGuest: Ali Feller | @aliontherun1 on InstagramSUPPORT OUR SPONSORSKETONE-IQ: Level up your training with Ketone-IQ – a clean shot of energy with no sugar or caffeine. Finally! 2:59:12 at the 2024 Houston Marathon. 10 years after starting my marathoning career, I finally managed to break three hours in the marathon. This one was a long time coming. I'm so thankful for all the kind messages, comments and texts that I received afterward so it felt like a win for the community and the everyday runner. For this episode, I'm turning over the reins to my dear friend Ali Feller, the host of 'The Ali on The Run Show.' She is so much fun, the perfect person to joke around with and to get a chance to reflect on the journey. In this episode of "Running: State of the Sport," George and Amby chat with Chris Chavez, founder and prime mover-shaker behind Citius Magazine. In just a few years, Citius has become a top media player in coverage of elite track/field and road racing. While carrying old media nomenclature, ie, "Magazine," Citius is a thoroughly modern digital operation. It includes podcasts, blogs, newsletters, and on-site coverage of major events like the Olympics, World Championships, and U.S. Championships. Chavez himself races everything from the mile to the marathon, including a 3:17 in last fall's NYC Marathon. But he ranks higher as a writer-reporter, having learned the ropes at Sports Illustrated before founding Citius Magazine. George and Amby were impressed that Chris discussed the business side of Citius as openly as the editorial operation. Also, he explained his passion for attracting more young folks to become fans of running (and even media like himself.) Chris expressed no regrets about how super shoes have affected the sport, and didn't pull punches when naming his top 3 male and female picks for the Marathon Trials on Feb. 3. He's got a sense of humor, too. Chris said one of his Fairy Godmother Wishes for the coming year was to sell Citius Magazine for a price like what the New York Times paid for The Athletic. (Which is thought to be $550 million.) Go for it, Chris! Before the conversation with Chris, George and Amby discussed some of their favorite running podcasts of 2023. Amby's list included: the "Let's Run podcast," "Koop Cast" with coach Jason Koop, and Ali Feller's "Ali on the Run." George noted: Citius Mag's recent podcasts with Parker Valby, Katelyn Tuohy, and CJ Albertson; "Nobody Asked Us" with Kara Goucher and Des Linden; "Set the Pace" with Rob Simmelkjaer and Meb Keflezighi; "The Morning Shakeout" with Mario Fraoli; and "Some Work, All Play" with Megan and David Roche. Thomas and Meg sit down and chat with Ali Feller, host of the number one running podcast in America (every once in awhile we get there too) and probably also the nicest person in America. She's also a race announcer, recently handling finish line duties at the Boston Marathon. She's also a marathoner. And a mom. And a wife. She's pretty much a transformer but not in disguise. And she just ran a 3:41 marathon PR in Eugene! Hope you enjoy this talk as much as we did.
"What is my why? It's just to give myself a shot. I've run six marathons. I feel like one of them went really well. And I felt the urge to try something fun and give myself a challenge and see what I'm capable of." Hello from the halfway point in my Eugene Marathon training! I'm seven weeks into my training with seven weeks to go until I line up for my seventh marathon. A few weeks ago, my coach and my sports dietitian joined me on the show to talk about what it's been like working together in this pursuit. Today, it's just me, talking about why I'm doing this. Why now? Why the marathon, seven years after my last attempt? What am I hoping to get out of all of this? In addition to sharing a bit about my history with the 26.2-mile distance, I'm also talking about my key takeaways from the past seven weeks, and sharing what I hope to gain throughout this process. “Wow. That would be amazing. If you would've asked me three years ago, I would've said no…I hope!” – Femke Bol on the possibility of a sub-50 second performance in the women's 400m hurdles This is the audio version of this weekend's interview with Femke Bol during our After The Final Lap show with special guest host Ali Feller of The Ali on The Run Show. The 22-year-old Dutch star set the first individual indoor world record at the TRACK at New Balance by going 65.63 seconds for 500 meters. That beats the fastest ever times indoors or outdoors. Femke split 51.4 through 400 meters before closing hard for the record. In this chat, we talked about that race, her thoughts on the evolution of the 400m hurdles and some other fun topics like what TV show she wants to be on after her career is over. Unfortunately, we faced some audio issues and so there are some choppy parts with me and Kyle's mics. Ali and Femke come through a bit clearer. We tried out best to salvage it. She is a race announcer, podcaster, runner, and such an inspiring person! Ali shares her insight on gut health through her experiences living and running with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). IBD is a chronic gastrointestinal disease that affects 1.6 million Americans each year, including Ali and I. I am a huge advocate for raising awareness for IBD and am overjoyed to have Ali on the show to share her experience. Ali provides insight into her running story, her IBD story, shares lots of fun tidbits, and of course, shares compassionate, warm, and loving wisdom. This episode contains wonderful advice on some ways to cope with the emotional aspect of IBD and also some running tips as well (always carry toilet paper!). Hello Friends! Today begins my 3 episode series: All About Gut Health! Some of you may know that I am a Ph.D. student who has a love for conducting research on the gut-brain connection. Gut health is so important, and I will be posting a 3 part series sharing gut health stories from two inspiring athletes, Sonia P, and Ali Feller. Then, for my final episode, I will talk all about the research on the gut-brain axis, share my personal gut health story, and answer YOUR gut health questions! Today, I have a wonderful guest, Sonia. Sonia is a Division 1 runner who has an inspiring story of how she dealt with gut health issues due to underfueling, overcame underfueling, and healed her gut. We talk in-depth about how intentional or unintentional underfueling or "clean eating" can impact one's gut microbiome and lead to GI distress that impacts many areas of one's life. Sonia gives many words of wisdom and gives great advice on how healing your relationship with food can heal your gut. If you have ever dealt with gut issues or underfueling, or are interested in gut health, this episode is for you! This episode is a long time coming. Fellow podcaster Ali Feller joins me on More Than Running podcast to catch up and share more about her "goals", dreams, and current life update. Ali is the host of the Ali on the Run Show which is now on its 550th episode! Ali is a beam of light in the running world and I loved picking her brain about how she thinks about her own training, her show, and her experience working behind the scenes at the World Championships. I first time I "met" Ali was a guest on her podcast and I have been a huge fan ever since. Ali proves to me my favorite quote "there is room for all of us at the finish line". I hope in this episode you learn something new about Ali and enjoy a conversation between two women who share a love of running and all the positive parts of the community. Our conversation today will give you some insight into Ali's background and her passion for the sport, including: The way that running brings us closer to the elites than almost any other sport How running provides the opportunity for limitless storytelling Why word of mouth matters so much when it comes to spreading a love for the sport How Ali's competitive dance background prepared her for the ups and downs of training and racing The infinite opportunities to find joy in running by doing it whatever way you love most How Ali's podcast discussions help humanize elite runners and make their stories so relatable Enjoy my enthusiastic discussion with Ali! A big thanks to Elemental Labs for their support of this episode! They make electrolyte drinks for athletes and low-carb folks with no sugar, artificial ingredients, or colors. And you can get a free sampler pack of 4 flavors and 8 individual packets when you pay $5 in shipping. Elemental Labs' products have some of the highest sodium concentrations that you can find. Anybody who runs a lot knows that sodium, as well as other electrolytes like magnesium and potassium, are essential to our performance and how we feel throughout the day. The citrus flavor has quickly become my favorite. I'm drinking one a day now to help me get enough fluids in our dry Colorado air. It's tasty and delicious and I find that I'm not peeing every 45 minutes throughout the day, which might be an indication I wasn't eating enough sodium. There's now mounting evidence that higher sodium intake levels are not unhealthy – and athletes need substantially more than your typical sedentary person. Of course, ask your doctor if you're worried. But for those athletes running outside in the heat, an electrolyte replacement makes a lot of sense. So check out Elemental Labs to try their new flavor or get a free sampler pack. Thank you Gnarly Nutrition! What an amazing brand name! But Gnarly Nutrition don't just sound great, they make amazing nutrition products to help athletes like you optimize their diet, fuel smarter, and reach new heights in training. Their chocolate whey protein powder blows my mind - it's the tastiest protein powder I've ever had. I mix it with almond milk and it's just amazing how creamy and sweet it tastes. Gnarly is a trusted supplier of nutrition products to athletes because all of their protein powders, pre-workout supplements, amino acids, and fuel are all NSF-certified. That means you can trust everything from Gnarly to be safe, clean, and free of any banned substances. They comply with strict standards and procedures during every stage of the product's development, including unplanned on-site inspections, to ensure you know exactly what you're putting in your body. Fuel better and recover smarter so that you can do more of what you love: running. Go to gognarly.com and be sure to use code GNARLY20 to save 20% sitewide on your entire order.

Ali Feller has a special gift of drawing you in with her vivacious storytelling and cheerful, glass half full attitude. Ali is a runner (she broke six minutes in a one mile race at the beginning of the year, hello!) , entrepreneur (specifically THE host of the Ali on the Run Show and race announcer extraordinaire - as in the Boston Marathon, the NYC Marathon and many other races!) and most recently, Ali was given the most distinct honor of presenting a TED talk (how cool is that?). Ali has grown the Ali on the Run Show into one of the most listened to running podcasts in the world, and she's just getting started! Ali is also mom to Annie and Ellie (Ellie is her dog who is very equally part of their family) and wife to Brian.Together they live in the gorgeous New England town of Hopkinton, NH, where Ali has taken a full circle moment and come back to the adjacent town where she grew up. New Hampshire is a slice of paradise and Ali shares the best places to RUN, where to grab a great meal (and ice cream!), drinks, where to race, places to stay and all the things in New Hampshire (including an incredible state fair that has us sold on coming to visit). But first, we kick off the first half of the chat, talking all about the footprint that Ali continues to make on the running world (and beyond). Are you guys ready for this?!We know it is safe to say that this is THE most delightful, engaging and fun conversation that Jerold and I have ever had at 5:30 AM. This very special Bayshore 40th anniversary episode of the MRG Show features a conversation with well-known podcaster and professional race announcer Ali Feller of the Ali on the Run Show. Ali and her family, who live in New Hampshire, are making their very first visit to Michigan later this month for the Bayshore races, which are celebrating 40 years in a big way: the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and kids fun run all return in person after a two-year break because of the pandemic, and Ali is not only serving as the finish line race announcer, she's also hosting a live podcast recording featuring elite athlete and northern Michigan resident Des Linden the Thursday before race day on May 28. If you've been listening to the MRG Show for awhile now, you know how meaningful the Bayshore races are to Heather and her family. These Memorial Day weekend races likely are very special to you as well — the half marathon fills quickly each year, as does the 10K. And the marathon is one for the books — incredibly scenic, flat, 26.2 miles of northern Michigan running at its best. These races attract runners from all across the country and even the world. If you're a newer listener and maybe not quite as familiar with the Bayshore races here in Traverse City, you're going to love this episode just as much as those who have been along for the ride these past nearly 7 years of the MRG show. This conversation with Ali covers not only her involvement in this year's Bayshore race weekend, but also so much more—how she became a runner while living in New York City, how she met her husband through this sport, her career transition and growing a successful blog and podcast, the passion she has for supporting the Chron's & Colitis Foundation, and in more recent time, the opportunity she's had to serve as race announcer at both the New York City and Boston marathons. With more than 500 episodes, 13 million downloads, and 2,500+ five-star ratings on iTunes, the Ali on the Run Show is one of the leading running podcasts in the world. Every week, Ali talks with inspiring people who are doing exciting things on the run and beyond, from the fastest runners in the world (Des! Molly! Aisha! Emma!), to everyone's favorite running couples (Steph and Ben! Sara and Ryan!), to the runners who make up the middle and back of the pack. As she explains it, on her podcast, every runner is seen and celebrated, and we all get to pick up the pace together.
“I could tell he wasn't mentoring me because he wanted it to be this public thing that made him look good. I wasn't his charity case.” Dinée Dorame had a dream: to launch a podcast that would explore the intersection between running, land, community and culture. So she applied for the first-ever Tracksmith Fellowship program — and she won. Dinée was one of the first recipients of a Tracksmith Fellowship grant, which gave her the support she needed to bring the Grounded podcast into existence. She was also paired with a mentor: Mario Fraioli, host of The Morning Shakeout podcast and creator of The Morning Shakeout newsletter. Dinée and Mario started as total strangers, formed a fast mentor-mentee relationship, and now, one year later, are close friends with a "big brother, little sister" bond. In this conversation, they talk about their first phone call, the first time they met in real life, and how their differences have made their relationship stronger. SPONSOR: Tracksmith. Welcome to the VERY FIRST episode of "The Lady Doc Podcast." On this episode, I'm talking with the indomitable mother-daughter duo of Judi Donnelly and Jenny Donnelly Grimshaw. Judi is a 26 year breast cancer survivor who learned shortly after her cancer treatment that she had the BRCA1 mutation. Her daughter, Jenny, also carries the BRCA1 mutation (and is pregnant with her first child, due November 2021!). We talk about the circumstances that let to Judi getting genetic testing in the late 1990s, how Judi disclosed the news to both of her daughters, the differences in their experiences with genetic testing, and their advice to those who are fearful or unsure about getting genetic testing. We also talk a bit about Jenny's pregnancy, her process of doing IVF, and how she and Judi both felt about Jenny doing IVF to give her the family she's always wanted, but giving her children the gift of not having the BRCA mutation using pre-implantation genetic testing. I met these two through the running world (Jenny is one of my running idols) so we naturally talked a bit about running, too. If you want to hear more of their running story, I highly suggest listening to them on Ali Feller's Ali on the Run Podcast (episode 193). "I won’t use my voice unless I can back up whatever argument I’m trying to make. But I’ve gotten increasingly more comfortable putting myself in those situations and taking a stance on something and then being able to back it up, whether it’s systemic racism, whether it’s diversity in the sport, whether it’s how we should be handling the pandemic right now as runners. We all have thoughts on those things. A lot of us are afraid to share those thoughts. Not all of us have platforms where we can share those thoughts and have it have an impact, and I am very cognizant of the fact that I do, and I want to make sure I’m using my platform for good in those ways and spurring up healthy conversation and debate." Today, we wrap up the On the Record series with Mario Fraioli, host of The Morning Shakeout podcast and creator of The Morning Shakeout newsletter. Mario comes to podcasting with a background in journalism: He's a longtime sports writer and was the editor of Competitor magazine. On this episode, Mario talks about taking that journalistic approach when it comes to having conversations with running's top athletes, and opens up about getting comfortable taking a stance and using his voice. And he explains why sometimes, you have to let the silence do the work. Thank you to Gatorade Endurance for sponsoring this episode of the Ali on the Run Show! Welcome to Episode 27 of the Eat for Endurance Podcast, featuring Ali Feller, host of the Ali on the Run Show. I'm embarrassed to say that it's taken me over two months to edit and publish this episode! The joys of working and parenting in these crazy times, that's all I can say. Podcasting has had to take a bit of a backseat to everything else unfortunately, but I'm still recording episodes whenever I can!You probably know Ali from her podcast - and if you don't, check it out! She has interviewed so many incredible athletes and other guests. Ali grew up dancing, and found running after college while living in NYC. Like many running stories (mine included), she quickly became hooked, and started training for her first of many marathons! What makes her story different is that she was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at the age of 7. The disease did not seem to affect her too much when she was younger, but her symptoms have become much worse in recent years. Runners and other athletes have enough GI concerns as it is - adding Irritable Bowel Disease to the mix makes sports nutrition (and life, generally speaking) extra challenging, as you can imagine. It's something that she has discussed at length on her own show, but I wanted to dig further into her experiences, specifically to see how Crohn's has affected her nutrition and training. Ali also is a (relatively) new Mom, so we of course chatted about motherhood and how she has coped with Crohn's flares while caring for her daughter. I hope you enjoy this episode! Ali was so much fun to talk to - not a surprise at all, if you're familiar with her show. As you will hear her say, energy is not something she usually is lacking!More info on Ali:Website: https://www.aliontherunblog.comFollow Ali on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter Other Announcements:Please show your support by leaving a rating and/or review on iTunes Music Credit: Joseph McDadeHave nutrition questions, a guest or topic request, or any other feedback? “Both disciplines attract that type of person, who can chase down specific goals, who is competitive, not necessarily with other people, but with themselves. I think that's a big thing you see in dance and it's a big thing you see in running—yeah, you're competing for the top spot, you're competing for the spot in the company, you're competing for the lead role on Broadway, if you're in high school, you're literally at dance competitions that you want to win. In running, yeah, if you're at the front of the pack, it's the same: you're competing to break the tape. But I think inherently what I see a lot of in both is this idea of wanting to be your best self in your discipline, and seeing what that brings out in you as a person.” Ali Feller is the host of the super popular Ali on The Run Show podcast, where every week she talks to inspiring people who lead interesting lives on the run and beyond. I'm a longtime listener of her show, she has a great range of guests from top pros to average age-groupers and all sorts of other folks who are doing unique things in and around running. Plus, Ali is an incredible interviewer who just really knows how to keep a conversation flowing. But in this episode, she's my guest and we hit on a lot of different topics, from dealing with imposter syndrome and learning how to push it to the side, to attending the Olympic Trials Marathon in Atlanta and what she took away from that experience, why she's way more passionate about other people's running than her own (and when that flipped for her), starting her podcast and how it's evolved over the course of 200+ episodes, battling Crohn's disease since the age of 7 and how that's impacted her running and her life, the strategies she uses to manage stress and anxiety, and a lot more. Sarah Bowen Shea and Maggie Palmer have a ball gabbing with Ali Feller, host of the “Ali on the Run” podcast and a new first-time mom. The laughs start when Ali talks about how pizza factored into her transformation from a life-long dancer to a runner. From there, the blogger shares secrets of a great action-shot selfie. Ali, whose darling daughter is almost five months old, tells the tale of running a 10K race at 38 weeks pregnant, including why the Central Park jaunt stands as one of her favorite races ever. Bonding with Maggie over working out at OrangeTheory Fitness, Ali details why it was ideal while she was pregnant. The new mom offers return-to-exercise post-partum tips, and she shares how her marathon training for the New York City Marathon will be different now that she’s a mother runner. Learn the biggest thing that’s helped the guest deal with mommy-guilt—and find out how it involves Beyoncé’s alter ego, Sasha Fierce. After the laughter subsides, Ali talks candidly about how pregnancy helped her stop hating her body. This conversation runs the gamut, and you’ll find yourself laughing—and nodding—along no matter what stage of life you’re in. The laughs start (and SBS can barely stop laughing!) in the intro, in which Sarah and Maggie bond over being #DanceMoms. Ali joins the lively conversation at 21:22. Ever since she was a young girl, Ali Feller had her heart set on working in the publishing industry. Not just any job in publishing, though: Editor-in-chief of a teen dance magazine, perfect for someone who grew up on stage. By 25 (!!) she landed it. Right off the bat, she was working crazy hours, in endless meetings, on set at photoshoot after photoshoot living that New York City grind life that I know oh so well myself. Around that same time, she fell in love with running, tackling her first marathon. But soon, the stress became too much. Battling Crohn’s disease, Ali realized in her #hurdlemoment that she needed to step away from her dream job to get better and rediscover her purpose. In episode 35, we talk all about the transition that lead her to creating the Ali on the Run Show podcast, how Crohn’s has impacted her life, what it’s like to be a new mom to her beautiful babygirl Annie, and commiserate over the self-inflicted pressures (and benefits!) of being your own boss. Ali Feller from the Ali on the Run Show podcast tells her story of becoming one of the top freelance writers and podcasters in the running community despite struggling with Crohn's disease. Ali has kept up her running and training through Crohn's flare-ups and now her first pregnancy. She talks about her dream guests (Zac Efron and Shaquille O'Neal)and how she perseveres and maintains a positive attitude in this high-energy episode.
Ali Feller - also known as Ali On The Run - joins Lilly to chat about her marathoning and her own amazing podcast, the ways in which her Crohn's and colitis have impacted her life, and how her diagnosis at the age of seven ruined a family vacation.
Ali Feller is a freelance writer and editor, blogger and podcast host known for asking her guests some more unusual questions in a conversational fashion. Her podcast style is probably as close to mine as they get. Ali is very public with living with the chronic inflammatory disease called Crohn’s Disease. We will cover how she manages both the physical and mental side of her disease and how hard it is when your body holds you back from what you want to do despite all the motivation and drive in the world. How being a strong person is not enough to get past what is happening in your body and you have to learn how to manage and build your confidence that you can and will get through it. Ali and I get very real about her struggles with her disease and her life overall. We discuss body image and comparisons to others and how we looked at other times of our life. Today’s Guest Ali Feller of the Ali On The Run Show, freelance writer and editor, podcast host and blogger lives in New York City with her husband and rescue dog. What you will learn about: Does Ali like the name she chose for her blog and podcast and was she surprised at the time that people would be interested in her running journey? What got Ali started running? How does Ali interview all the “big name” guests and not get intimidated by them? Advice for learning what works for you and listening to your body. Because what works for others may or may not work for you. Get ideas from others, try them more than once, and then see if it works for you. We’ll learn how to get past having a goal “ripped away” from you? How your thirties are the best. How Ali manages life as a podcast host and runner with Crohn’s disease Do cults go to Stonehenge? You will never learn about the struggles others have if you don’t ask about them. It is easy to see the glamorous in others especially with social media and miss their struggles. Ali’s favorite Celine Dion songs Inspirational Quotes: It is tough to go from such a high to such a low place and still move forward. Every runner will experience gastric distress, so if it happens to you, you will not be alone. Your body is a tool, you can’t run without it and it is imperative that you take care of it to live the life you want to live. It is good to want to be your best so long as it is done from a positive and uplifting way. Ali Feller Meet 3:51 marathoner, author of the Ali On The Run blog and host of the Ali On The Run Show podcast, freelance writer and editor, Ali Feller. Ali’s appearance on this week’s episode was suggested by listener, Angie Sherman and for that, we are certainly grateful. Ali was not a high school track or cross country star; far from it, in fact. Growing up she found running to be punitive rather than fun. After graduating college, she became Editor-In-Chief of Dance Spirit magazine. She is a currently contributor to many women’s health and fitness periodicals. Ali shares with us her experience living with Crohn’s Disease. As you’ll hear in more detail, Crohn’s is a chronic autoimmune disease that is unpredictable and inconvenient, yet Ali explains how she has come to terms with managing it. All while still remaining as active as she can. Although she is now focusing on shorter distance races like the 5K, she has completed 7 full marathons and dozens of half-marathons. She also tells us how she continues to train and how she approaches goal setting. Oh, and we will also learn about her awesome husband and loving dog. Or loving husband and awesome dog? Either way… Meet Ali!
Episode 11 is with Ali Feller- host of one of my favorite podcasts- The Ali on the Run show. Ali and I dig deep into the topic of really breaking down what our own personal values are, and how we can live lives that most intentionally reflect this. I was really excited to speak with her about this, because as an almost mid twenty something year old, I have found that what I was taught my entire life about what I needed to achieve in order to successful and happy isn’t necessarily the case. I know I am not the only one at this point in life who is feeling this, and I think Ali has some great perspective on the topic! Ali is by no means old, so let’s just get that clear, she is however over her mid twenties, quarter life crises hump, and she is a refreshing voice on the topic. Ali and I also discuss much more, including how she views her Crohns disease, and how that as changed and altered over time. Ali is sweet, honest, and funny, and I SO enjoyed chatting with her! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/chasing-bravery/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/chasing-bravery/support
We’re flipping the script today and I’m putting Lindsey Hein in the hot seat! Lindsey is a super speedy runner (she holds a 3:13 marathon PR and ran a 1:32 at the 500 Festival Mini Half Marathon a few weeks ago), a mom of three boys (Marshall, Louis, and Russell), and the host of the podcast I’ll Have Another with Lindsey Hein. (Lindsey’s podcast was the first one I ever listened to, and I was a guest on her show back in November!) This episode gets into everything, from the super personal stuff (like Lindsey’s decision to have a preventative double mastectomy, and her two miscarriages before having her first baby), to running (Lindsey was on the cover of Women’s Running magazine in 2014!), coaching, surviving life in a house of four dudes and a dog, and how she met her super sassy husband, Glenn. After three babies, a major surgery, and a pretty major injury, Lindsey has declared this “The Year of Lindsey!” Listen in to hear what that entails! Welcome to the Ali on the Run Show — your best running buddy! This is a podcast where we talk about working hard, running hard, and doing whatever it takes to break a physical and mental sweat. I’m your host, Ali Feller, and I’m a writer and editor in New York City. I write about health and fitness for Women’s Health, Self, Shape, Allure, Fitness, and more, and am the former editor in chief of Dance Spirit magazine. I also blog at Ali on the Run, which is what inspired this podcast. Every week on this show, we’ll cover everything from marathon training and yoga to mental health and wellness. Bring us along on your next run — I’ll do my best to leave you feeling excited, inspired, and ready to pick up the pace along the way.
