Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Tina: Hi! I'm a huge fan of your podcast and almost finished with my Level 1 certification. Every year, I complete the Big 5 and gut tests and work with a Level 2 IHP. I diligently follow all the protocols, and all of my hormones are balanced, but I'm still struggling with a few symptoms. I was diagnosed with Raynaud's, the bottoms of my hands and feet have been persistently yellow for 20 years. I take liver support supplements and receive glutathione IVs. Additionally, I suffer from a constant nasal drip. I've been using a neti pot with citracidal drops and have completed all of the detoxes. I do sauna, dry brushing, lymphatic drainage massages, and weekly vibration plate. Can I get rid of the raynauds, yellow hands & feet and nasal drip? What else can I do to get rid of this? Thanks Mya: Hi Dr. Cabral! Thank you for all you do and educating us on becoming the healthiest version of ourselves! I have been struggling with gut issues for quite a long time, with the biggest issue being extreme stomach pain and bloating. I decided to do further gut testing and found out I have extreme leaky gut, very low levels of beneficial bacteria, low sIgA levels, and low butyrate as well. No dysbiosis, or SIBO or candida. The issue is that I can NOT handle any prebiotics (even PHGG), no probiotics (except sacchromyces boulardii), and have extreme histamine intolerance. How do I fix the low beneficial bacteria and leaky gut if I can't handle pro & prebiotics and have a limited diet (I get extreme stomach pain and immune reactions when I try to add them in). Sophie: I am an active 42-year-old woman who has a generally healthy lifestyle. I have been experiencing heart palpitations a few to several hours after exercise in the late afternoon or evening. Symptoms include a dramatical increase in my HR and shortness of breath. Medical professionals have diagnosed non-sustained ventricular tachycardia. Blood tests returned normal results for my kidneys, thyroid and electrolytes and further tests confirmed no heart disease. I have been prescribed beta blockers, which Doctors said may resolve the VT, while I await an MRI scan. What test you would recommend to get to the root cause of the problem? What are your thoughts on beta blockers? Are there any natural herbs/tablets I could take instead of the beta blockers? Mark: Hi Stephen. Your podcast has saved my life and I am forever greatful. Thankyou. What's your opinion on a newish discovered fat C15? The brand is fatty15 and seems that it could replace fish oil. What's are your thoughts on this fat? Thankyou. Tanna: Hello, my family and I are suffering from mold toxicity, orchard spray poison and a rain barrel that is flooding over. We have recently relocated to get out of mold and orchard spray and need to replace our furniture. Is there a non toxic brand of furniture that you would recommend? Specifically fabric couches? The characteristic of CPIR is that plasma insulin secretion occurs before the rise of the plasma glucose level.
On average the human heart beats at a rate of 1.16 times per second, or 100 times per minute. Sometimes the heart rate gets faster, slower or is irregular. And the older we get, the more likely we are to experience heart palpitations. The first thing to underline is that these palpitations are completely normal and harmless 90% of the time. Furthermore even if they're particularly intense, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's anything serious. Irregular palpitations while resting could be extrasystoles. These are additional heartbeats that occur outside the physiological heart rhythm, and are known colloquially as skipped heartbeats or heart hiccups. We don't know exactly why they happen, but again most of the time they're harmless. Why does my heart sometimes start racing even when I'm resting then? Should I be worried if that's the case? What can I do to relieve palpitations when I'm getting them? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions! To listen to the latest episodes, click here: What is bae-realing, the new dating trend? Welcome back to our weekend Cabral HouseCall shows! This is where we answer our community's wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging questions to help people get back on track! Check out today's questions: Loren: I have been learning about all things health and wellness by listening to all the Cabral Pods; reading the info and purchasing devices, tests and vitamins with Equilife. Last year I finished a Nutrition & Healthy Life Certificate with Cornell. Time and money is a little tight at the moment or ai would start the IHP Program ASAP. What specifically would you recommend for someone in early 50s with Lynch Syndrome to have optimal health. Tony: I have a smell in my nose that won't go away. Smells like body odor, but no one smells it when I ask them. Very annoying and frustrating. What could cause me to smell this all of the time? Pleas help. Kurt: Hello Dr Cabral. Just want to start by saying I'm a huge fan and have been following you for some time now. You have helped me so much in my health journey. I've had a health concern for about two years now with no answers. I've seen multiple pcps, gastroenterologists as well as cardiologist and an endoscopy done as well with no answers. It's been a very frustrating and hard time in my life. I've been very disappointed with conventional medicine. My main issue has been daily heart palpitations. All doctors have said that everything is normal and just want me to take beta blockers. I've tried these but they seem to make the palpitations worse. Have ran multiple food sensitivity tests, inflammation and minerals and metals test. Worked on the gut, it has helped but still there. Thank you. Erica: Hi Dr. Cabral, I've noticed that when I eat certain foods (particularly non-organic dairy - i.e. sour cream or ice cream) my body will be sore / tense / tight the next day. It almost seems like my back will cramp up a bit and I'll be stiff. I've tested myself from an IGG standpoint and I'm not super sensitive to dairy (I'm in the green) and they were both gluten-free (I am sensitive to gluten similarly). Do you think there are certain types of chemicals / hormones in conventional dairy I am sensitive to? Also - do you think this is something I could ever fix and is the result of a different underlying issue? Thank you! Lara: Hi, dr. C! I was looking for your podcasts about xanthan gum, remembering you said it's not ok to use but then I stumbled upon your low FODMAP infographic which has xanthan gum on it! How so? Why would you put something on it that you say is not ok to use? Thank you, looking forward for your answer as always.. happy healing to everyone! In this episode, I briefly explain the reasons and ways to calm one of the most alarming symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks: Heart Palpitations. Heart palpitations that anxiety patients experience can be triggered by a variety of stimuli such as light, traffic, driving, physical exercise, etc. They are often accompanied by panic attack that resembles a heart attack. But having palpitations due to anxiety doesn't mean that there's something wrong with your heart medically. The reasons for palpitations are many and our conventional medical system does not address them. The doctor may advise you a beta blocker to calm your heart but that doesn't treat the root cause of your irregular heartbeat. I have compiled a list of all the physiological root causes of heart palpitations. Tune in and listen to those causes and a brief overview how you can fix them acting holistically!
This episode is brought to you by Rupa Health, Mitopure, and Cozy Earth. Histamine is a common term when discussing allergies, but there is really so much more to it. Histamine is both made by the body and found in food. It has a key function in digestion and also acts as a neurotransmitter. People who have more histamine in their bodies than they can break down may experience a variety of symptoms including hives, heart palpitations, migraines, fluid retention, runny nose, and more. Often, histamine intolerance can be traced back to gut dysbiosis and mast cell activation syndrome. In today's episode, I talk with Dr. Todd LePine, Dr. Leo Galland, and Lisa Dreher about how histamine plays a role in sleep, digestion, allergies, skin conditions, and so much more.Dr. Todd LePine graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and is board certified in internal medicine, specializing in integrative Functional Medicine. He is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. Prior to joining The UltraWellness Center, he worked as a physician at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA, for 10 years.Dr. Leo Galland is a board-certified internist, an international bestselling author, and one of the founders of Functional Medicine. Show Notes: The Life Free of Anxiety PodcastHosted by Dr. Charles Barr and Erica of CHAANGEEpisode: Trembling, Sweating, Heart Racing? Yep, It's Just Anxiety! In this episode, Dr. Charles Barr and Erica discuss the various symptoms of anxiety disorders. They cover physical symptoms like heart palpitations, sweating, trembling, feeling faint or dizzy, shortness of breath, nausea, and fatigue. They also discuss mental symptoms like racing thoughts, inability to concentrate, derealization (feeling detached from reality), fears of losing control or going crazy, and avoidance behaviors.Dr. Barr explains how the body's fight-or-flight response causes many of these symptoms, as the brain prepares the body to respond to perceived threats. Even though the threats are not real in the case of anxiety, the body reacts as if they are. He emphasizes that while the symptoms feel dangerous, they cannot actually hurt you. He also notes how our brains try to find reasons for the symptoms, often falsely attributing them to health conditions like heart attacks. Overall, the episode provides a thorough overview of anxiety disorder symptoms to help sufferers better understand what is happening in their bodies and minds. To find out more about the new membership options for the CHAANGE Anxiety Treatment Program, head to lifefreeofanxiety.com!Enjoying the Life Free of Anxiety Podcast? Today my guest is Donna Klassen, Co-founder and CEO of Let's Talk Menopause. In addition to her work at Let's Talk Menopause, she is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 30 years of experience. Her areas of practice include trauma, infertility, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. In addition to her private practice, Donna served as admissions and clinical director at the Motherhood Center of New York from 2017-2020, and has held supervisory roles at SUNY Stony Brook, the Jewish Board of Children and Family Services, and Safespace. They started Let's Talk Menopause because they've learned from their individual experiences—and those of just about every other woman they know—that too many women do not get the information, support, and healthcare they need during menopause. Too many women are suffering unnecessarily. Too many women don't know what to ask.Let's Talk Menopause aims to change this through education and advocacy. They want to empower women to seek the relief they need and encourage them to talk openly about their menopause experience.Donna shares information about menopause, the health implications including mental and emotional well-being and treatment options available including hormone replacement therapy and skills based therapy like cognitive behavior therapy. We also briefly discussed the details in this NY Times article that I share from about the cost of menopause for women in the workplace. Check out their podcast "Hello Menopause" and their weekly talks featuring in-depth discussions with a wide range of specialists—from gynecologists and urologists to physical therapists and psychiatrists—to help you understand how menopause impacts your body, emotions and lives and to provide you with options for navigating the changes you may experience. Here's the episode with Lori King talking about her experience and support for surgical menopause.Following my conversation with Donna, I share info about Raising Hope's upcoming celebration of hope honoring women in the community, including myself. Martha is joined by her friend Kristen who shares a back-to-back series of alarming symptoms she had. What does it look when you go to even your GOOD doctor with hard-to-document symptoms when they know you have struggled with anxiety in the past? What about when you advocate for yourself, they run tests and the tests show nothing? Or the tests show SOMETHING but your doctor doesn't seem spurred to action? And SHOULD you avoid consulting Dr. Google before you go?These questions and more are covered in this episode.Products & details mentionedThe iron supplement and blood builder that finally reversed Martha's anemia. She was able to tolerate it and stay on it long enough to increase her ferritin and blood iron. She buys the 180-count bottle and that last 6 months, but it's available in 30 -count to try. Before that she had success and results with this liquid iron, a similar nutritional profile, but stopped using it because it stained her teeth unless she drank it with a straw in some orange juice...and that just wasn't sustainable with her routine (plus hard to travel with)Kristen is using these raw iron tablets.MAV Tip: This too shall pass! But in the meantime, if you're concerned, seek medical attention. And if the medical personnel you seek attention from don't seem to “get it” consider seeking practitioners who understand perimenopause and menopause and will work with you to find you some relief. (Even if that means you end up with some quacks in your life.)Take care of yourself. And take care of your vagina! Everything show related at MyAloofVagina.com Discounts on faves:

#094 - Caroline Kelm coped with sleep issues, felt shaky all the time, was getting easily winded and lightheaded. Her symptoms were making it harder and harder to live her life, run her company, and take care of her family. After the birth of her second child, she had to leave her job and ended up on mattress island. And while she had dabbled in Medical Medium's work before that, after she received a POTS diagnosis, she fully committed and her health rebounded from there. Caroline was – and still is – extremely sensitive to supplements, so we talk through how she handled that. She also had a lot of ups and downs as she was healing, so we dig into that as well and talk about what she did to pull herself through.
