The incidents, involving young soldiers tempted by quick financial gains, underscore a concerning trend where military personnel are exploited for illegal activities. This development raises serious questions about the vulnerabilities within our armed forces and highlights the broader issue of illegal immigration and border security. Imagine your daughter as a rising star for years in the Army is suddenly demoted fromE6 to E1 after reporting a toxic work environment and sexual assault? Now imagine that same daughter passing away just six weeks later after being denied a medical board and receiving an other-than-honorable discharge, out of money, facing failing health, and leaving behind two children. Join me this Wednesday as we talk to Felicia Cavanagh, the Mother of Allison, and my dear friend Sandy Duchac, from the non-profit Veteran Sisters, an advocacy group assisting with her case. Felicia Cavanagh is a USAF Veteran and mother of Sgt. 1st Class Allison Bailey. Since the passing of Allison in March 2023, Felicia has devoted herself to the pursuit of justice and accountability for her daughter. Felicia has been in multiple news articles and featured in the KTNV “Guarding the Guardsmen” series where she tells Allison's story of retaliation which ultimately led to her death.Felicia has researched Allison's military records; her medical and medical board request, as well as her legal file which, according to Felicia, violates numerous Constitutional rights along with a myriad of other legal concerns. Due to the severe nature of Allison's mistreatment, Felicia requested Nevada Senators Rosen and Cortez-Masto initiate an outside investigation. Felicia was granted this request and currently, a DoD IG investigation is taking place, looking into Allison's sexual assault and discharge.Felicia is also working to change NRS 412.2879 for all Nevada soldiers to grant the right to request and receive a Court Martial if charged with a serious offense. Felicia has earned the support of a State Senator on this endeavor.Ultimately, it is Felicia's goal to have this change made for all military members in every state and the nation. Felicia is also pursuing reform of the medical board system. Allison was deemed both mentally and physically not fit for duty, but yet denied her request for a medical board. This decision removed her required care and benefits at discharge, leaving her to die just six weeks later without any disability benefits. Before the loss of her daughter, Felicia was a retired Operations Manager. Felicia began her career in Logistics when she joined the USAF in 1987. Felicia managed facilities for UPS, Henry Schein, and Cardinal Health, supervising upwards of 150 employees, and managing inventory of up to one billion.Felicia is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Technical Management and Accounting.Visit my website: https://thehello.llc/THERESACARPENTERRead my writings on my blog: https://www.theresatapestries.com/Listen to other episodes on my podcast: https://storiesofservice.buzzsprout.com

An Army soldier has been charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in the death of his newlywed wife. Zarrius Hildabrand, 21, a member of the Alaska National Guard's 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, stands accused of fatally shooting his wife, Saria Hildabrand, also 21, and then attempting to cover up the crime by stashing her body in a storm drain. The Anchorage Police Department revealed that the disturbing series of events began when Hildabrand reported Saria missing on the evening of Monday, August 7. The couple had returned home in the early hours of Sunday, August 6, after celebrating Zarrius' birthday with friends. A neighbor later reported hearing a gunshot in the vicinity around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday. Hildabrand initially claimed that Saria had walked to work at a local restaurant between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. that same day, saying they were both too hungover to drive. He reported her missing to the police when he went to pick her up from work at 7 p.m. and realized she never arrived. Desperate and concerned, he turned to social media, posting messages on Facebook about his wife's disappearance and even assisting Saria's mother, Meredith Barney, in searching for her. However, the unfolding investigation raised serious doubts about Hildabrand's account. A friend of the couple informed the police that Saria had not planned to work on August 6. Contradictions in Hildabrand's statements and evidence found at their apartment led detectives to delve deeper into the case. When police searched the couple's apartment, they discovered two loaded pistols on the kitchen table, one of which was missing a bullet. Detectives also noticed peculiar details, including a missing bed sheet replaced by a mattress pad with new sheets nearby. Hildabrand's reluctance to let the police inspect the bed raised further suspicions. As the investigation progressed, more incriminating evidence emerged. Hildabrand was found to have purchased a variety of items on August 6, including a jar of marinara sauce, a set of sheets matching those in their apartment, a mattress cover, hydrogen peroxide, and an empty spray bottle. A large 96-gallon garbage can was also purchased from a nearby store. Police later located a mop and mop bucket that matched those sold on the same aisle as the garbage can. Tragically, the investigation reached its conclusion when a drone search uncovered Saria Hildabrand's remains concealed in a 4-by-5-foot storm drain near the couple's apartment. She had suffered a gunshot wound to the left temple. The couple, who had met during basic training the previous summer, were married in December 2022. Saria had moved from Utah to Alaska just six months prior to be with her new husband. Zarrius Hildabrand was appointed a public defender and is being held on a $500,000 bond. We often talk about how to RECOVER when our world falls apart and how to deal with the obstacles once they present themselves. But what should be in place in our lives to PREVENT our world from falling apart? I am grateful for God's grace and for the fact that the failures of our lives do not need to be final. There is always hope even after the darkest moments of life. What I have learned in my life though, is that it is better to stay out of the darkness by putting the right pillars in place before things get out of control. Today, I am honored to have as my guest John Davis. John is a former Army Soldier, retired Police Officer, and currently works with The Mighty Oaks Foundation. The story of John's life is a true testimony to the truth that God will work in any life that is willing to surrender to him. I always appreciate hearing John talk about how he has gotten to where he is today, and in this conversation he dives deep into lessons about resiliency that he has learned looking back over the course of his life. Whether you are doing well and want to continue to move forward or struggling to see the hope, this episode is for you. A FORMER U.S. ARMY SOLDIER from Louisville has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for plotting to kill his unit in a deadly ambush. 24-year-old Ethan Melzer belongs to the Order of Nine Angles, a neo-Nazi cult that believes groups like the Satanic Temple and Temple of Set are just play-acting at being Satanists. The O9A believes that any means necessary, including human sacrifice, must be used to destroy Western civilization, which they believe has been weakened by the Magians (Jews) and Nazarenes (Christians).
