Leaders come in all forms, without titles and with a servant's heart. In today's episode, I have an extra special guest who is a leader in his industry and community, but… I graduated high school with him nearly 32 years ago, and this is the first time we've re-connected since! I bring you tidbits of leadership, motivation, and positive life from a top tier in the Mortgage Industry from none other than, Mr. Jackson Booth.
I had the honor of sitting with my dear friend and restaurant owner, Mr. David Hayes, owner, and operator of North Hill on Garland Restaurant. I asked him some tough questions about where he started, his leadership philosophies, and how he leads his team in a very competitive and sometimes unforgiving industry. David was candid, gentlemanly, and shared some very intimate portions of his life that shed some light on traditional leadership traits that, if used correctly, never waiver and are still value-added today! www.northhillongarland.com

Asa's IG: https://www.instagram.com/pocoboy812/?hl=enAsa's Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/asa.cox1Hello! Here at The Days Grimm Podcast we hold Veterans and their families in high regard. Brian having served has a huge influence on the way in which we talk to and about Vets. In this weeks episode Brian & Thomas sit and get to know Air Force, "Flyboy" Veteran, Asa Cox. It means a great deal to us every time we have a Veteran, Civil Servant or Family Member thereof on air. We take time to get to how Asa ended up joining the Air Force as opposed to the Marines. We get to learn a little about his prior service in Municipal Law Enforcement and how it set him up for success in the Air Force. We talk about life on base (or Garrison), what life was like patrolling in Iraq, and finally how to cope with leaving the service and not killing your gold fish. All jokes aside, Vets come home everyday all jacked up, mentally. I cannot stress enough how important mental health is upon exiting ANY branch of service. On the flip side, our jobs as civilians is to treat these folks with the utmost respect and help in any way possible. The Days Grimm Podcast does not take this lightly, and defend our Veterans to our last breath. So grab a beer, have a drink with us, listen to this man's awesome story and most of all show love for a Veteran of Foreign War. The things we say to others to lift them up are essential. However, the things we say to ourselves are also crucial because they can lift us up or tear us down. Let's remember to be kind but also be kind to OURSELVES!
Satan's first move, beginning in the 1970s, was the “dismantling” of the treasures of our faith. He removed what inspired souls to turn their lives completely over to God. Some refer to this dismantling as “watering down” the faith. but, the effect is the same. It signals that our Catholic faith is less, or even no longer “important.” There is a loss of a “sense of seriousness,” so souls feel free to move God down the totem pole in their list of priorities. For many, in this less serious atmosphere, God is then eventually completely removed from their list of priorities altogether. So many souls have become separated from God. This is the hand we've been dealt. What are we to do? Well, the solution certainly is not to quit. No! We must continue the mission, draw closer to God and do our best to recover the sense of transcendence in ourselves, our Church and our world!! Dr. Dan Schneider, who serves with Fr. Chad Ripperger, has devoted his life to this very mission, and he has come on the Grace Force to help us strategize the very best move forward. --------------------------------- Watch "Doomed to Repeat It" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Byrmu... --------------------------------- Help support this podcast by becoming a US Grace Force Patron here: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=25398590 --------------------------------- Join our US Grace Force Facebook group: https://usgraceforce.com/ --------------------------------- Battle Ready Emergency Preparedness Course: Be prepared to Care for and Protect your Family in times of Natural Disasters, Emergencies, Civil Unrest, Economic Collapse, and More - All in Line with Catholic Church Teaching. Kristle Helmuth is a veteran of the United States Army, mother of 3, and surviving spouse of SGT Nathaniel Helmuth. Going from dual military, to military spouse, to the caregiver of a wounded warrior, to a widow, Kristle has run the gauntlet of military experience making her life the perfect platform to advocate for and support others who might be facing the same challenges. Kristle often jokes that her life could literally be a movie, “If something was going to happen, it happened to us.” The last four years have been a journey of its own, as Kristle navigated finding her new normal, raising kids, going to school, and developing her career, all without her best friend, the person she built a life with. Without her amazing support system and her husband's words, “Charlie Mike,” in her head, things could have been much worse. Since losing her husband, Kristle has since completed a Bachelors in Communications, completed her MBA, and is now working with United Way of Northeast Florida's Mission United Program, a community-based program that connects military, Veterans, and their families with the services that they need – from securing a roof over their heads, finding a post-military career, to getting their benefits and health care. Kristle's number one goal is to live her life and raise her children in a way that makes him proud, and that carries on his legacy of service, and sacrifice. https://www.themisfitnation.com https://fans.truefanz.com/RichLaMonica https://youtu.be/e3yVjDjamHU --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/richard-lamonica/support
I often get asked... "What's your leadership style like? What leadership style do you identify with?
Leaders should NEVER stop learning or trying to better themselves so that they can give their team(s) and their organization(s) the very BEST version of themselves!
When life's path is clear, when everything is firing on all cylinders, and when the sun is shining it's easy to get things done right? But… What happens when your car breaks down, your job is kicking your ass, and you feel the weight of hopelessness on your chest like an elephant? Will you keep going?

There has only been one authorization for the use of military force (AUMF), since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and we’ve been deploying forces under its auspices ever since. It’s just 60 words long, so we should take a moment to review it again — for many of you, perhaps for the first time: [T]he President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons. Everybody got that? If you planned, authorized, or committed the 9/11 attacks, or aided or harbored those that did, you’re in the U.S. crosshairs. Bin Laden’s al-Qaida in Afghanistan? Yup. Al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI)? It was a stretch, but the CINC said yes, so onward! ISIL? The next CINC said they were the offspring of AQI, so again, here we go! ISIS? Again, son-of-a-son, so Charlie Mike! Does it matter that not likely a living soul in the current ISIS planned, authorized, or committed the 9/11 attacks, nor aided or harbored 9/11 perpetrators? Apparently, not a wit. Does it matter that the last administration recognized the 2001 AUMF had outlived its shelf-life and offered a new one, including ISIS language, to Congress? Nope; rejected. Does it matter that a bipartisan group of senators subsequently authored a similar AUMF, to accomplish the same thing? Nope; never left the starting blocks. We’ve been playing fast and loose with the law ever since 2003, when we connected AQI with the 9/11 perpetrators. Support request Pray Subscribe & Share Donate

Having a piece of art is something special. Anyone can run down to the local Walmart and pick up an item off a shelf and display it in their home. But a true piece of art ALWAYS has a story behind it. If you are anything like I am, you want your walls filled with stories that are impactful and meaningful. There are flag companies popping up everyday. Some of the owners are veterans, some are people just trying to make an extra buck. Veteran Carvings is 2 combat veterans that were both wounded in action. Each flag they make is unique to itself. It is made with care and most of all, with pride. As Scott says in this episode, he gets chills when he sees their flags displayed. These are not just a few pieces of wood slapped together with a coat a paint, this is the way that they have discovered to carry on their mission. Join us to hear the story behind Veteran Carvings.

In our latest episode on Mackey Speaks Leadership Journal, Mackey (@mackeyspeaks) asks the question, how many unfinished things do you have in your life? There are so many times that we've started things, be it a project you started working on or completing school because it gets hard. Mackey believes that one of the reasons we do that is because starting is easy and continuing is the hard part. Continuation of moving forward is when things get done. In the military, often times a unit or a commanding officer will try and throw in the towel. Maybe a mission isn't working, or he doesn't think he has all the resources. And more often than not, the message that comes down from the top is simple: Charlie Mike. Which is code for “Continue Mission.” We are so quick to give up. On degrees, on projects, on marriages, on books, on starting that business, whatever it is. There are so many things that we've started, only to quit when things got tough. Dwayne Paro is very committed and passionate about supporting transitioning Veterans. He is a combat Veteran who served in the Air Force for 8 years and has spent the past 19 years supporting the federal government as a contractor in Washington DC area. Through his dedication, perseverance, self-discipline, integrity and solid leadership skills he has progressed to be a Chief Information Officer for a Federal Aerospace Engineering firm. Using his Military and Executive experiences he has been able to step out as an Entrepreneur and establish Landmark Life Coaching in response to a support gap that exists for Veterans. Due to his passion for supporting Veterans he has built a T.E.A.M Vets program that is focused on filling the gap that exists between what the Veterans Administration can provide and what transitioning Veterans need to create and lead a fulfilling and empowering life that honors their duty and sacrifice. He is the host of the Charlie Mike podcast which highlights the business successes of various combat veteranpreneurs.
Charlie Mike shares his family stories, including a great moment with Jackie Kennedy, childhood fun fishing, ice skating, and going to the State Theatre, and watching them take weeks to move the first nuclear reactors from Havre de Grace to Peach Bottom in the late 60s.
Through the fog of PTSD, traumatic injuries, and illness, American veterans realize that the ability to regain control of their minds and bodies lies within their own hands.
Mat Vance, a veteran of the Iraq War and author of the book The Funny Side of War for the Sick and Demented joins us in our first episode to tell us stories about getting smoked in basic, donkey rides, soldier vs. civilian breakdancing competitions, and more of the lighter side of war he experienced. He also talks about some of the challenges of urban warfare, and offers advice to veterans and their loved ones about how to approach conversations of what life was like "over there." Please enjoy Episode 1 - "Charlie Mike".
