We’re thrilled to welcome Katie Bogner, Catholic school teacher and parish Director of Religious Education (DRE).Katie produces beautiful resources for the home and classroom (I’ve used so many of them!), and is very generous with the fruits of her creativity. I’m so grateful for the ways she shares her faith and makes it easier for me to do the same. This season is JPII-heavy, and I am all about it. Katie brings us words from the saint during the World Youth Day Vigil of Prayer, August 19, 2000:"It is Jesus in fact that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is he who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is he who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be grounded down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal."Katie has a wonderful new book, Through the Year with Jesus: Gospel Readings and Reflections for Children. We hope you’ll grab a copy (or more!).Find Katie online at looktohimandberadiant.com, on Instagram @katherine.bogner, on Etsy etsy.com/shop/LookToHimBeRadiant, or reach out via email to looktohimandberadiant@gmail.com.To suggest a quote or a guest, follow the show on Instagram, @quoteme_podcast, or contact Lindsay at her website, LindsaySchlegel.com.If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe to the podcast, leave a review wherever you find your podcasts, and tell a friend.Until next time, God bless you!

What if I told you there’s a way to tap into the ‘fountain of youth’ without expensive creams, procedures or surgeries? Is it possible that there are youth restoring promises found in the Bible? We are going to be answering those questions today with my very special guest, dear friend and mentor Katie Souza. Katie is an amazing teacher on healing of the soul, she’s an evangelist and author. I am so thankful to have Katie Souza in my life, it’s been over 8 years ministering together and I so love doing ministry with her! I’ve personally witnessed the supernatural moves of God in so many meetings, hundreds of miracles, we’ve had angelic encounters; it’s been a ride for sure. Today we are going to talk about her latest book release, "Be Revived, Defeat the Spirit of Death with the Power of Life”. God has given her an amazing revelation through the word and of God and she is going to share some of that revelation with us today. Katie Souza is the founder of 'Expected End Prison Ministry' and 'Katie Souza Ministries". She is a gift to the body of Christ, she is authentic and real and has a heart as big as Texas. Katie will stir up a hunger for the more of God as you listen to her. She sends out free books to prisoners all over the world and has seen thousands of them set free! The bible says the last enemy to put under our feet is death and through the Lord revealing things to Katie that pertain to healing we have been given a freeway to access the more! John 10:10.. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). I’ve read in another translation that Jesus came to give a qualitative life…We will not let the enemy steal our youth! God wants us to look great and feel great at the same time so we can bring honor and glory to Him! Katie will be unpacking this word down for us so we can tap into all our benefits. Katie had a visitation front the spirit of death, he was on assignment to kill her and to destroy everything of importance to her. Through her pressing into the Lord and through this awareness and process and her pressing in she received this powerful revelation. The body of Christ needs a new wineskin to have enough energy to go out and get the harvest! I know all my listeners today are in for a total mind shift today. Get ready!! I loved talking to my lovely friend Katie this week all about working through long-term chronic injury, and maintaining a positive mentality and commitment throughout. Katie had a very sporty childhood, and this carried on throughout school and university, where she was actively involved in netball and rugby respectively. This allowed sport to become a large part of her life, and a distinctive element of her identity. It was thus very challenging for Katie to suffer a serious foot injury in one of her first rugby sessions at Edinburgh University, which, after a difficult period of diagnosis, required surgery for a full recovery. Katie and I relate through our individual experiences with invasive surgery, as well as post-operative recovery and rehabilitation. We note the fact that long-term injury is both a mental and physical hardship, and place emphasis on the importance of speaking openly to friends and family, maintaining a positive mindset, practicing patience and journaling thoughts and patterns to deepen our healing awareness. Injury is a challenge that numerous athletes face, and our sense of identity can often get bound up in our passions, meaning that when we lose this aspect of life it can be extremely difficult. Katie and I discuss how injury allowed us to explore new passions in our lives, with Katie becoming involved in Acapella and re-discovering her passion for musical performance. This episode has a very positive outlook, as both of us are making progress with our respective sports, with Katie doing fantastically with her journey back to rugby. We both confirm the deeper sense of appreciation we now possess due to this challenging period of injury and self-growth. We really hope you enjoy this episode! ***Audio Quality Disclaimer*** If you noticed that the audio quality in this episode wasn't super great, we apologize. As some of you know, we've been having some technical difficulties. Katie is waiting on a new computer and once it arrives, we promise our audio quality will be as good as it was before! Thanks for understanding! Welcome back to Popcorn Chats! This week, Katie and Michae finally discuss a new film, Unpregnant. The break down their favorite characters and scenes from the film and point out the many light hearted moments that made the film so fun and entertaining to watch. The duo addresses the controversial subject nature of the film and try to cover the difficult topic of pro life vs. pro choice. Both of them being pro choice, they struggle to understand the mindset of the other side of the argument. The ultimate question that they are left with is if delivering content that cover controversial topics in a comedic way, makes the pill easier to swallow, so to speak. Since it's release on September 10, Unpregnant has gotten a fair amount of backlash. However, Katie and Michae see this film as a wonderful piece of art about a strong and loving friendship, that deals with the important topic of giving a woman the right to do what she pleases with her health, body, and life. Welcome back to Popcorn Chats! After a week with no new episode, Katie and Michae are kicking off a brand new series on the pod where they break down the career of actors and actresses in the industry. They saw no better person to start this series with than Jennifer Lawrence. The duo has discussed several of Lawrence's movies on the pod before (mother!, The Hunger Games, Passengers) and in this episode they get into the nitty gritty about what makes her so great on and off screen. They take it from the beginning of her career, with her role as Ree in Winter's Bone (2010) and take the conversation all the way to her final film before her hiatus, Red Sparrow (2018). They note what films were crucial to defining the path of her career, the things that contributed to her commercial and critical success, and what qualities she has that make her so beloved by the masses. Don't miss next week's Popcorn Chats episode about The Purge franchise. Switching things up a bit this week, Katie and Michae break down a certain 2016 Sci-Fi movie that had everything going for it, but ultimately fell flat. Where did it go wrong with two A-list actors, a great director, a huge budget, and an interesting premise? They talk about what they think the film missed its mark on, what would’ve made for a more dynamic plot, and share what they would’ve done if they were the ones creating this film. In March, we talked all about TEENS and FRIENDS. Friends are SO important for teenagers, and as parents, we often run this challenge about how to navigate friendships we are concerned about, as well as how to help them make friends. If you missed episode #98 with Dr. Justin Coulson about toxic friendships, I encourage you to LISTEN! But with Katie, she moved with teens, and is in the trenches of helping her kids adjust, and I REALLY wanted to pick her brain, as I knew it was likely in our family future, and as I type this in May (when the interview was in February) we now know we ARE in fact moving, and helping my girls with friendships is high priority for me. So many wisdom nuggets, even if you aren't moving. Katie is an intentional mom, and I've gleaned so much from watching her share insights over the years. After you listen, check out these links! We’re all going through this era of coronavirus—separately but together. I feel like humanity is taking one big existential breath; it’s a pause for us all to think about our previous normal lives, our currently abnormal lives, and how we want to reinvent life when this whole thing is over. And I know many of us have become confused by the different news outlets sharing different information. When it comes to deciding who is a reliable source, I know Katie Couric is always someone I can trust. I’m honored to have her chat with me for this week’s episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy. Katie is an award-winning journalist, New York Times bestselling author and a co-founder of Stand Up To Cancer. In 2017, she founded Katie Couric Media, which has developed a number of media projects, including a daily newsletter, a podcast, and digital video series. She has played a part in producing many documentaries, including Fed Up, which I was thrilled to be a part of. Couric was also the executive producer of Unbelievable on Netflix, is developing other scripted projects, and is currently writing her memoir. This episode is sponsored by AirDoctor and AquaTru.
