We'd love to hear from you, send us a text about your favorite show!Sometimes, the loudest communication we receive is completely unspoken. A comforting hug, a reassuring hand on the shoulder, or holding someone close can say what words never could. From the moment we're born, touch is one of our first experiences of love—it soothes, nurtures, and connects us in ways beyond the physical. Touch isn't just about affection; it carries an energy that speaks to something deeper within us.In this first episode of our five-part series on the Spirituality of the Love Languages, we're exploring the deeper, energetic meaning of Physical Touch and how it serves as a powerful vessel for Divine love. Whether you naturally seek out physical connection or it's not your primary love language, understanding its spiritual significance can open your heart to new ways of experiencing love, healing, and connection. We'll dive into how touch carries energy, why it plays such a central role in spiritual practices like Reiki and laying on of hands, and how even those who aren't big on physical affection can still embrace its essence in a meaningful way. This episode will help you see Physical Touch in a whole new light.Christina Wooten helps you access the wisdom and support of the Spirit World to elevate your life. She is a Certified Psychic Medium and Reiki Master Teacher. Today I have the immense privilege of speaking with Dr. Sue Mayes. She's the current director of the Australian Ballet's globally recognized artistic health team. Sue was born in Victoria, and like many physios who work with dancers, Sue learned classical ballet in her youth and studied full-time under the formidable Gailene stock. It was while she was completing her diploma of dance that Sue's started to think about her future. Her love of dance combined with an interest in anatomy led her to physiotherapy, and as we say, the rest is history. In this most fascinating episode, Sue shares her journey in dance, and how she found her way to the Australian Ballet, where she began an esteemed career that has spanned 30 years developing the Australian Ballet's Injury Prevention Program.Sue's time as the head of the Australian Ballet's Wellness Team has now come to an end, and she begins her tenure as a senior lecturer at Latrobe University in Bundoora, Melbourne. If you'd like to find any of Sue's extensive research, all you need to do is Google her name and you can also find her injury prevention exercises on the Australian Ballet's YouTube channel. To continue to follow all of Sue's adventures, you'll find her on Instagram @suemayes8839.Today's episode was the final episode of Season four of Talking Pointes. But stay tuned. We'll be releasing lots of bonus episodes in the coming weeks. Talking Pointes is produced on the lands of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation, to whom we pay our greatest respects. I greet you in Jesus' precious name, it is Sunday morning, the 5th of January, 2025, and this is your friend Angus Buchan with a Thought for Today. We go to Mark 16:18:“They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”Can you imagine the hands of Jesus being laid upon you, my dear friend, to take away all your sickness, all your pain, all your suffering, all your fear and all your anxiety, those beautiful, beautiful hands. Of course, you know they will have a hole through them. They have been pierced by nails when the Lord was nailed to the cross for our sins, but what beautiful hands.Early this morning I was repairing a fence the back of our garden, and because I'm a preacher now and not a farmer, I must confess, my hands are very soft. I was quite embarrassed. I just remember my dear old Dad. Man, he had hands like you can't believe. He was a blacksmith, and he used tongs and 14-pound hammers, standing next to that fiery furnace and heating up that steel and banging it. He had the most incredibly powerful hands, yet they were so gentle - I never once saw him try to break a man's hand. He would shake your hand and it was like it was in a vice. It was firm, it was secure! Hands, hands are so important.I remember, one day, going to the chemist's shop and as I was paying for something I said to the lady, look at my hands. I've got hands and like a woman now that I don't farm actively anymore. She looked at me and she said, “Don't insult women's hands.” Now, when I speak to farmers, I have to put my hands in my pockets because when they see those hands, they'll say those aren't a farmers hands. But you know, on a serious note, the Lord tells us to lay our hands upon the sick and to pray for healing over them. To get a touch from the Lord is so beautiful and so precious. I love to stop and pray for somebody in the street and I will put my hand on their shoulder; sometimes I don't even pray and they start to weep. It's the love of Christ in us that people need to experience, so it doesn't matter whether your hands are strong or soft. I think of the hands of that incredible neurosurgeon, Dr. Carson, who had the gift of separating Siamese twins with one operation taking something like 48 hours. Those were hands of compassion and hands that are strong. Remember, folks, people love a handshake, they love a hug, and it doesn't matter whether your hands are rough, or whether they're smooth but make sure they're always clean. My Dad had the cleanest hands of a man I've ever seen. He made sure that when he went out, his hands were clean. There might be rough and gnarled, but clean, and most of all filled with the love of Jesus.Have a blessed day. God bless you, and goodbye.
The operating room is his happy place. Doing God's healing work with the audio backdrop of Contemporary Christian music and an occasional Bible quiz with his surgical staff. Dr. Robert Kayal has build a "one stop" orthopedic care empire. The 20 Kayal Orthopedic Centers in New Jersey and New York were born out of his love of God, love of people, gifted hands, and an innate desire to "fix things". It was Dr. Kayal's pastor, who helped to ignite his life long career in medicine by encouraging him to use his God given gifts as his mission field. Doing what he does to glorify God. It is on that foundation that he has built his practice. His staff of over 100 health care professionals are blessed with the deep rooted culture of Christianity at his clinics. In his recent book, "Mastering the Business of Medicine & the Doctor-Patient Relationship" Dr. Kayal articulates his 7 C's philosophy and shares that with us in this episode as well. Everyone has a unique faith journey...and you'll hear how Dr. Kayal's was as, thoughtful, intense and mindful as his journey to become a surgeon. Enjoy the amazing, God--centered career path of this inspiring guest on this episode of Amazing Greats. While Massachusetts has some of the best health care in the world, there are still stark disparities when it comes to Black maternal health. Mass General Brigham is addressing these concerns through its "United Against Racism" initiative, and one of the methods the health care system is working to reduce these disparities is through the use of doulas. Dr. Allison Bryant, Associate Chief Health Equity Officer at Mass General Brigham, joins Nichole this week to talk about the "Birth Partners Doula" project, the benefits doulas can provide for those giving birth, and how the project is going so far.

In this podcast episode, Pablo and I dive into his history with Esalen Institute and beyond. Pablo Piekar came to Esalen Institute in the late 1980's for what was supposed-to-be a Gestalt workscholar month. He ended up staying there for 16 years, working as a Esalen Massage Therapist and workshop facilitator.Back in Argentina, he was a licensed psychotherapist at 22 years old. But when he arrived at Esalen, someone told him he was going to heal people with his hands instead, and that he was going to teach people how to give massages. When he said he didn't know how, she said to him, “You don't teach technique, you teach love.”Pablo went on to practice and teach Esalen Massage around the world, starting on the land itself, but traveling as far as Japan to share this technique. At Esalen, he found community. He found purpose. He met his wife. It was all going until Pablo injured his wrist. In this moment, his body told him he needed to leave and use his brain again - use his intellect. He shares how the body reveals the deeper truth, whether you want to hear it or not. It was really hard to leave the womb of Esalen, where everything was provided for him: from three meals a day, to community and comfort. He refers to Esalen as ‘Mama Esalen,' a safe place to hold onto. Pablo shares that Esalen is a community, in which people get really close to each other. And when you are coming from a place of authenticity, conflict arises with others. He talks the spirit of Esalen, about how getting naked is not just about removing the clothes but in a symbolic way, it's about opening up to your authentic self. He impresses the importance of honoring and loving your body today as it's the best body you have today. He urges us not to compare it to others. "Support your authenticity," he says, "That is the spirit of Esalen." We talk about the preschool named Gazebo, that was formulated under the principles of Gestalt in which the kids are allowed to fight. The kids come out of the fights much closer, and my childhood best friend and I are prime examples. When Pablo left Esalen after his injury, he wanted to incorporate these wisdoms into advising businesses. However, he didn't have the business languaging. He moved to Santa Cruz and got his masters on organizational behavior, which is the behavior of science applied to business environments. In this conversation, he shares about how his education at Esalen directly applies to his executive coaching clients. In this conversation, we meander through philosophies of Esalen, the history of Esalen, and how to live and share a life of meaning. Pablo left Esalen many years ago and returned to Argentina to live with his family, where he advises businesses on how to function better with a background in psychotherapy, gestalt, and bodywork. In the bath, he shares about how his wife and him met at Esalen, how they transitioned into the outside world and grew their family in a multicultural and mindful way. We hope you enjoy getting to know Pablo Piekar. This episode is brought to you by Fractal Forest. Fractal Forest is an Earth-Tek research collective restoring meaningful connection between humanity and the Earth. I wanted to share how I personally use FRACTAL FOREST products. Their shilajit drops help with my focus and energy levels. I'm someone who often wakes up with a burst of energy, which gradually wanes as the day goes on. I have noticed a change in my energy and ability to focus since I started implementing Fractal Forest Shilajit drops into my daily routine. I think what makes Fractal Forest so special is that they use only earth elements in their formulation process: this means No synthetic additives or preservatives are included and it shows - the sensation is pure, the plant is pure! Whether I'm drinking the blue lotus tea, or imbibing drops of dream state, shilajit, these herbs enhance my experience of life.
