In this episode of "Normal World," Angela teams up with comedian Austin Robertson while Dave Landau is out and 1/4 Black Garrett steps away to support his family. The show begins with a chaotic HR sketch where Crispin avoids workplace training and gets caught smuggling shrimp, before Austin takes over “The Noose” with riffs on Rampage Jackson's son, Sydney Sweeney skydiving, Logan Paul's wedding, and the “Great Scambino.” From there, the hosts pivot into personal stories. Austin recalls witnessing a stabbing outside his Akron apartment, dealing with questionable police work, and later inventing a scheme to help a friend earn a sales bonus that spiraled into a fake child named Jack Jr. and an almost-police investigation. The episode then dives into festival chaos, including Bonnaroo drug deals, Burning Man's “orgy dome” blowing away, and Warped Tour madness with turkey legs flying into the mosh pit. Angela and Austin debate why some bands refuse to play their biggest hits, imagine Steven Seagal in space, and react to Ryan Murphy's upcoming Netflix series that controversially portrays Ed Gein as a leading man. Finally, “End of the World” looks at a so-called skinfluencer who promotes cucking as a marriage strategy, sparking their own irreverent list of relationship “tips” that should never be followed. (Laramie, WY) - This time last year, Wyoming fans were preparing to see Evan Svoboda taking snaps under center. In 2025 the 6'5 251lb senior will move to tight end for the first time ever, making way for sophomore Kaden Anderson as the top quarterback on the depth chart. "Everything's new. It's all foreign to me," Evan told County 10. "From running routes, to blocking people, to hitting people every play. It's all been different but it's been a really fun journey and I'm looking forward to it." Evan said he didn't expect to ever play tight end, but that it's a good fit, "I'm naturally a big, physical person so it's been a relatively good transition." Svoboda's commitment to the program was admired by many Pokes fans. In an era where the transfer portal is used regularly, the Cowboy decided to keep playing for the brown and gold after losing his spot as QB1. "I think it's been instilled in me from a young age, definitely from my parents and my environment. I was given an opportunity to be here so I'm going to make the most of my opportunity." (Laramie, WY) - University of Wyoming football strong safety Andrew Johnson is no stranger to altitude. The Cheyenne-native and Central High School graduate plays at the division one campus with the highest altitude in the nation, 7,220 feet above sea level. After his final season on the gridiron, his goals go even higher. "I've loved aviation since I was a kid," Johnson told County 10 at UW Media Day Monday in Laramie. He explained that he spent much of his off-season flying around Wyoming and Montana, marveling about flying over the Tetons and Big Horn Mountains. "Now, my goal is to become a fighter pilot." Later joking that his favorite movie is 'Top Gun.' While ambitions to become a fighter pilot seem lofty, Andrew has already crossed off his first major life goal. Wearing the brown and gold. "It was my dream since I was a kid. It was everything I ever wanted to do. So when Coach Bohl gave me the opportunity to do so, it was the easiest decision of my life." The former Central High wide receiver and defensive back appeared in 11 games for the Pokes and started 5 of them last year. He recorded 19 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles. This season, he's expected to be a leader on the Cowboy defense. "We're bringing that toughness back to Wyoming football," Johnson said about summer camp. (Laramie, WY) - "Nobody remembers us when we win, but they sure do when we give up a sack," Wyoming senior center Jack Walsh joked with us at UW Media Day Monday. The Cowboy has plenty of opportunities to be remembered for a very long time on the football field this year however. He was added to both the Lombardi Award Preseason Watch List, which is given to college football's best lineman (offense or defense) and the Outland Trophy Preseason Award Watch List, which goes to college football's best interior lineman. Walsh is moving from right guard to center this season too, a position he hasn't played regularly since 8th grade. But Jack's team-first attitude makes him excited to lead the guys up front. "I wanna be a source for the young guys, someone they can look to and trust to give them good advice, that's my main goal being an older guy, whatever someone needs help with on or off the field that's what I'm there for." Walsh smiled and told us last few practices have been fun, but exhausting, "It's been very physical. Coach Sawvel wants to see us play some football, see what guys are made of. But it's been fun. You have to do those things to get prepared for the season." Wyoming football kicks off August 28th at Akron. Key Takeaways: The Dark Funnel Demystified: Unlocking Hidden Sales In “The Dark Funnel Demystified: Unlocking Hidden Sales”, Joe Lynch and Jennie Malafarina, the CEO of Virago Marketing, discuss how businesses can drive measurable revenue growth by understanding and leveraging the invisible customer journey. The "Dark Funnel" is a Reality, Not a Myth: The episode will explain what the dark funnel is—the invisible customer journey that happens before a lead officially enters the sales process. Listeners will learn how potential buyers are influenced by content, social media, and word-of-mouth without ever directly interacting with a company, and why it's crucial to understand this hidden process. Aligning Marketing with Business Strategy is Non-Negotiable: Jennie Malafarina, with her extensive experience at Virago Marketing, emphasizes that marketing isn't just about generating leads. It's a revenue-driving engine that must be directly tied to a company's overarching business and growth goals, turning it into a strategic partner rather than a cost center. Content is the Currency of the Dark Funnel: The podcast will highlight how high-quality, valuable content—from blog posts and whitepapers to podcasts and social media discussions—serves as the primary way to influence buyers in the dark funnel. Jennie will share insights on creating content that answers customer questions and builds trust long before they are ready to buy. Sales and Marketing Alignment is Key to Unlocking Hidden Sales: A central theme will be the necessity of a seamless partnership between sales and marketing teams. The episode will cover how Virago Marketing helps companies create a unified strategy where marketing generates qualified conversations and sales is equipped with the right tools and information to close deals, ensuring no opportunities from the dark funnel are lost. Industry Expertise is a Competitive Advantage: Drawing on her background in transportation and logistics, Jennie will explain why deep industry knowledge is essential for effective marketing. Virago Marketing's success lies in its ability to speak the language of its clients and their customers, allowing them to create messaging that truly resonates and cuts through the noise. Demand Generation > Lead Generation: The episode will likely differentiate between old-school lead generation and modern demand generation. Jennie will discuss how focusing on building market-wide awareness and interest (demand generation) is a more sustainable and effective long-term strategy for filling the sales pipeline, especially when considering the dark funnel. Measuring the Unmeasurable: Tracking Dark Funnel Impact: The podcast will provide practical advice on how to measure the impact of marketing efforts that don't result in immediate, trackable leads. Listeners will learn about alternative metrics and signals that indicate success in the dark funnel, such as brand mentions, website traffic trends, and engagement with un-gated content, proving the ROI of these "unseen" activities. (Laramie, WY) - Monday was Media Day at the University of Wyoming as various members of the region's radio, tv, print and digital outlets chatted with athletes and coaches. It's not often that the wide receiver coach gets a lot of attention at the event, but 2025 was different with the return of an all-time Cowboy great, Jovon Bouknight. Jovon played for the Cowboys from 2002-2005 and racked up over 3,600 receiving yards, placing him as the third best UW receiver in the category (behind only Marcus Harris and Ryan Yarborough.) After graduating, the Denver native began the shift from receiver to mentor. He's spent time coaching at Marshall, Kentucky, Oregon, Texas Tech and Utah State before returning to Laramie. “It is a full circle moment as it all started here at the University of Wyoming,” Bouknight told reporters when he first returned. “It is great to be back in the saddle with familiar faces with our student-athletes and coaches that have so much love and passion for this program. I'm ready to hit the ground running and go back to the foundation and fundamentals.” Coach Bouknight told County 10 at Media Day about some of his favorite memories as a UW athlete, "obviously the Vegas Bowl (2004) sticks out. I was only fortunate to win one Border War, so I think about that one from my sophomore year." Jovon said it's helpful to remember his playing days to instruct this 2025 group of Cowboy receivers, especially when it comes to the eventual cold weather. "It makes us unique, the mental aspect and being mentally tough about it. Understanding that it can play into your favor in late November if you're prepared for it." And the Pokes newest coach says while there's still some improvement he'd like to see before the August 28th opener at Akron, he's thrilled with the wide receiver room so far. "It's been going good. I think the energy is really high, guys are flying around. A couple guys that are new are working some kinks out. For the most part we're doing really well. The focus the next couple weeks is who's going to step up and make plays." To listen to the full chat we had to with Coach Bouknight, hit the player below! Ohio electric customers will soon stop propping up two coal plants with subsidies tacked onto their bills. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio voted to zero out the charges as of Aug. 14. The subsidies were part of the scandal-tainted House Bill 6 that also bailed out nuclear power plants. Former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and former Ohio GOP Chairman Matt Borges were sentenced to prison for their role in a bribery scheme connected to the passage of the bill. We will begin Friday's “Sound of Ideas Reporters Roundtable with the removal of the subsidies and why the audit is being requested. School kids have sick days and snow days. Should they also get days for mental health care? Senator Willis Blackshear, a Dayton Democrat, has introduced for the third time a bill giving K-through-12 students up to three "mental health days" per school year. Robbery, felonious assault, breaking and entering and auto theft are down in Akron, according to the city's new crime report, which also shows there has been a slight increase in shootings, more burglaries and a sharp decrease in overdose deaths. And, Cleveland firefighters will get a huge pay increase, 21 percent, under a new three-year union contract with the city. Plus, we'll cover other stories of the week too.

Send us a textLogan Bell's story begins not in a town, but in a village—a one-square-mile dot on the map called Lisbon, Ohio. It's here where his baseball journey took root, nurtured by parents who somehow balanced demanding work schedules with never missing a game. When most people ask where Lisbon is located, he simply references Youngstown, a familiar landmark that anchors his small-town origins in something recognizable. The rhythm of Logan's early life followed the seasons of sports—football in fall, basketball in winter, and baseball dominating the summers. But what stands out in our conversation isn't just the athletic achievements, but the deliberate efforts to maintain normalcy amid the demands of competition. From wing nights after practice to street hockey games with friends, these moments provided crucial balance and kept the pressures of performance in perspective. His college baseball path reflects both perseverance and adaptability. Starting at Akron as a 17-year-old freshman surrounded by junior college transfers in their twenties forced early maturity. After partially tearing his UCL, Logan found his way to Bowling Green State University, reuniting with a coach who had first recruited him years earlier—a relationship that proved pivotal in his development both on and off the field. Now training in Florida while completing his master's degree, he's pursuing professional opportunities with an unwavering "no Plan B" mindset.Throughout our discussion, Logan offers thoughtful perspectives on the changing landscape of college athletics, MLB economics, and the unique challenges faced by small-market teams. But most memorable is his closing message about pursuing dreams without apology: "If you have this idea of what you want to do and what you want to be, don't let anybody tell you that you can't be it." With supportive parents, loyal friends, and grounding faith, Logan demonstrates that sometimes the journey itself matters more than the destinSubscribe for exclusive content: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1530455/support Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREEDeemed FitBe a part of our movement to instill confidence motivation and a willingness to keep pushing forwardBuddy's Beard CareBuddy's Beard Care provides premium men's grooming products at an affordable price.Sweet Hands SportsElevate your game with Sweet Hands Sports! Matt Rhule says the magic formula is 40 sacks and 20 takeaways. So can Nebraska actually pull it off in 2025? In this episode, the Junkies dive into what it'll take for Nebraska to reach that all-important “40/20” defensive mark—40 sacks and 20 takeaways. This is the goal Rhule laid out when he first got to Lincoln, and hitting it has historically meant double-digit wins for teams across the country. We break down what it would take to get there: John Butler's attacking style and what it means for the pass rush How Nebraska's defensive depth at JACK, EDGE, and DB could create chaos Why opponents playing from behind may boost our takeaway numbers What chunk games like Akron and HCU will mean for piling up stats Why 40/20 might be the minimum if Nebraska wants to win 11 games You'll also hear our takes on Rhule's tone, the confidence in the defensive line, and what this means for the Big Ten race in 2025. #NebraskaFootball #Huskers #MattRhule #Blackshirts #CollegeFootball #BigTen #GBR #HuskerDefense Learn more about your ad choices. Send us a textWhat happens when five friends debate the awkwardness of getting a massage from someone of the same gender? Pure comedic gold! This episode begins with a seemingly innocent discussion about massage therapy that quickly spirals into hilarious territory as the hosts struggle to explain their preferences without sounding prejudiced or homophobic. When one host describes his experience with a male massage therapist who used "deep pressure," the resulting misunderstandings and double entendres will have you laughing out loud. The conversation shifts to a fascinating hypothetical scenario: Would you take a guaranteed $500,000 or flip a coin for a chance at $30 million? The hosts' answers reveal surprising insights about risk tolerance, life philosophy, and their relationship with money. What makes this segment exceptional is when they actually perform the experiment, flipping a coin to see who would hypothetically win the jackpot, complete with accusations of rigged coins and promises to share the fictional wealth.Throughout the episode, the discovery of what appears to be a dead bird (or possibly a rat) floating in the pool outside becomes a recurring comedic touchpoint. The hosts periodically return to this bizarre situation, using it to springboard into discussions about everything from pet cemeteries to signs of bad luck.Regional pride shines through with numerous references to Ohio, particularly when discussing athletes and celebrities with connections to Akron, Cleveland, and Fremont. The episode rounds out with entertaining movie reviews of recent releases like Happy Gilmore 2, critical analysis of preseason football, and nostalgic references to classic comedies that "they just couldn't make today."Ready for more unfiltered conversations that blend humor with everyday observations? The raw power of making something just for the hell of it—and why you should do it anyway.Yeah, I said it Krusty the Clown–style. It's Monday Motivation time, and you know what that means: caffeinate your soul, slap yourself awake with a paintbrush, and prepare to scream into the void—in the most beautiful, artful way possible. This week on FWACATA, we're talking total artistic freedom. That holy grail where there are no rules, no deadlines, no clients, no critics—just you, your tools, and that screaming void begging you to make something weird, raw, honest, maybe even kind of ugly... and therefore brilliant. But here's the trap: freedom is scary. Like, pants-half-unzipped-at-the-buffet scary. Blank canvases don't come with instructions. No guardrails. No gold stars. And when you strip away all the outer noise, what comes up? Imposter syndrome. Fear. Doubt. That voice that whispers: “You? Really? You think you're good enough?”I once painted a mural in Hialeah Gardens with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles—up 12 feet on a ladder, baking in the Florida sun. My stomach turned. My hands shook. Not because I was tired. Because I didn't think I deserved to be there. I laughed to myself mid-brushstroke and said, “Oh… this is imposter syndrome.” And I kept painting.Because that's the secret: doing it anyway. You don't need permission. You don't need perfection. You need to ask, “Is this ME?”—not, “Is this good?” And that's the golden ticket. That's where the real art lives.Even if nobody sees it. Especially if nobody sees it.But hey—share it anyway. That weird little epoxy Max figure you sculpted? That strange sketch? That strange thought that bloomed into a poem? That might be the one thing that makes another artist out there—maybe in Akron, maybe in Argentina—feel less alone. That's enough.Artistic freedom means failing isn't failing. It's just research. It's the data you collect before making something even more you.So this week, make something messy. Make something dumb. Make something pure. Rip the caution tape off your brain and let it dance naked in the street. Be the beautiful chaos you were born to be.And as always—be good.
