Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. We've got the whole crew in the house once again for one of our longest episodes since the early days of the podcast, so let's get right into the action! John & Kevin get things started off with quick updates on their recent retro Nintendo gaming, as John moves onto Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, while Kevin uncharacteristically polishes off The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. After that, Randall & John have each been doing some co-op gaming with their wives — Randall digs into his thoughts on The Quarry, while John dives into the wonderful world of Dream Daddy. Finally, Kevin wraps things up with a list of games in his Nintendo Switch collection that have made their way to the chopping block, and decides which ones are going to make the cut... Episode Notes: Welcome back to Arcade Cozy! This week, it's catch up week because we missed last week and there's a lot of stuff that's been going on that we need to talk about. We start off with some news including a new Death Stranding 2 trailer which looks incredibly good (and incredibly weird). Then, what we've been playing. Big highlight? Chris and Corey both have been digging in on Split Fiction! We talk a little about that, plus what Chris and Corey have been picking away at individually. It's a good episode so grab a coffee, cozy up, and enjoy!Games discussed include Death Stranding 2, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Split Fiction, Avowed, Citizen Sleeper 2, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, and more!Do you have thoughts on what we talked about today? On this week's Arcade, Uno and Chugs talk about getting their cheeks clapped by the final boss of Elden Ring, and then dive into what else they've been playing this week, which includes: Thank Goodness You're Here, Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure, and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Then the guys discuss the latest gaming news: DOOM I and DOOM II have received a new, definitive re-re-release that's worth every penny. Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes are now in full production. Kingmakers is already getting a movie deal even though the game hasn't been released yet. Meanwhile, the Borderlands movie is getting savagely blasted by critics. And the hype train continues around Black Myth: Wukong, as it's officially the #1 best-selling game on Steam a week before launch. Later on, the boys rip open the Arcade mailbag to answer some great questions from our community. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

So Metroid ON the GBA? Perfection And that's a word I might use to describe this week's game - Metroid: Zero Mission. People have been screaming at me to play this one ever since we reviewed the original NES Metroid a couple years ago, and I finally see why. This is a full-blown remake of Samus' first game. Everything frustrating about the original version is gone, and everything new is awesome. I'm a fan of all the Metroid games I've played so far, but this stacks up against the best of the best. My guest this week is our resident Metroid master, my buddy Daniel. We went over everything the fixed, everything they added, and everything that makes Zero Mission great this week. Minor spoilers for one segment are coming, but you should have already played this damned game anyway! And before we go bounty hunting, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks me what my 3 gaming wishes would be. Will I ever review a card game on the show? And what do I know of Red Dead 2?? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 GBA games based on Nintendo IPs: Wario Land 4, Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

As the Legend of Zelda series has pivoted to free-flowing and creativity-focused open words, "The Zelda Formula" has fallen by the wayside, left in the memories of those who grew up with it. That's certainly the case for me, as I welcomed the change that Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom brought to the series. However, the old ways still hold a place in my heart, and I was happy to revisit The Minish Cap for this episode. This marks an interesting period in the series, where Capcom worked with Nintendo to develop the handheld Zelda games, and they knocked this one out of the park. Thank you to the patrons for voting this game on to the show! I'm joined in this episode by Jared Moss from Play Along Podcast to discuss it. Jared is a Zelda head and was the perfect guest for this episode. Patreon.com/RememberTheGame Bradley McCue has been on me to play The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap since the first time he appeared on the show years ago. I kept saying I'd get to it, and truth be told, I was just getting ready to find a way to play it when Nintendo said "Hey everyone, we're adding GBA games to the Switch!", and Minish Cap just happened to be one of the games they launched with. (More proof that I have a weird ability to will things into existence). So I finally tried this cap on, and damned if this isn't a pretty solid little Zelda game. Looks great, awesome items, good story. I have a couple minor gripes (looking at YOU, kinnstones in the clouds), but for the most part, it's a clever little Zelda game. And another example of what a beast the GBA was. Bradley swings by the show this week to FINALLY talk The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. If you've been on the fence about giving it a shot, maybe this episode will be the kick in the bum you've been waiting for. And before we try on caps, I slap together another edition of the 'Remember The Game? Infamous Intro'! This week, we talk about whether or not subscription services are a disservice for younger gamers today. Am I gonna try the PSVR2? And was Mario the right franchise for Nintendo's first (modern) movie? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 GBA heavyweights: Metroid Fusion, Golden Sun and Advance Wars.

Katie, Jemma, Trev and Justin discuss The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
After a short break, we're back to our normal format with a bang! We're looking at the excellent Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap for Game Boy Advance! It's Tibbs' first go on a Zelda, and we also approach the series in general from this angle, so anyone also looking to get into the series might do well to listen! Elsewhere, we've been playing embarrassingly little for the last three months, though we did both take the new Streets of Rage 4 DLC for a spin, as well as Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. Plus, we discuss the A500 Amiga Mini, we discover that Tibbs is a Worms Historian, we give some very belated, very poorly prepared E3 2021 impressions, and we're throwing THREE Incoming Indie picks your way! Can't say fairer than that! So, some homework for you guys!.. 1) Were the various Amiga's always slightly yellowish in colour like the new Mini one is? 2) Why is Link's hair pink in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on the SNES?
