This week, we're revisiting an episode from season 1! I hope you enjoy this episode on Quantum Manifestation from season 1. Manifestation is the idea that we're capable of creating our reality through our thoughts and feelings. You might know it as Law of Attraction or 'The Secret'. The Secret, though, mostly zeroed in on manifesting material gain—money, houses, shiny objects. It oversimplifies the concept and orients it around the physical, three-dimensional world. In this episode, we're dissolving the myth that everything that happens in life—good or bad—is a result of manifestation. There are two caveats to manifestation. Becoming aware of these caveats offers us a fresh perspective on manifestation and removes the common New Age shame and guilt that is typically associated with the New Age understanding of Law of Attraction. We also dig below the surface to examine the interplay between quantum mechanics and manifestation, and how to create a signal so clear, so concise that it reaches into the quantum field and pulls our desires into physical reality before our eyes.SourcesDispenza, J. My intention with this episode is to open your mind to the multidimensional nature of reality. To breakthrough the outmoded barriers of naïve realism. The ones that suggest that our five human senses provide us with direct awareness of objects as they really are. It's naïve realism that's left us bought into the illusion that reality is limited to only that which we can perceive through the limitations of the human nervous system.Broadly speaking though, my hope is to inspire you to shift your perception beyond the status quo belief that we live in a purely physical reality. Over a hundred years ago, science turned this idea on its head and dismantled it, yet we still haven't caught up. And I'd say it's about time we get ourselves caught up…Because until we do, we'll mistake illusion for reality.Perhaps even more importantly though…When our view of reality is fragmented (seeing reality as made up of separate physical objects), our view of self and others is fragmented as well. We see ourselves as being separate from all else as opposed to one whole part of an even greater whole. And it's separation consciousness that's the root of all suffering.I believe that peering beyond the illusion of physicality—and the illusion of separation that it invokes—is the first step towards unity consciousness on this planet.SourcesChopra, D. One of the best physicists I ever knew my my first wrestling coach T. A. Shell. Never athletic enough to apply his lessons on the wrestling mat, I have applied them in other parts of my life with some success. T.A. Shell was my coach, yes, but a member of a family that my family has maintained a generations-long friendship. But it was as coach he had an opportunity to teach me lessons that have taken me far from the wrestling mat. He did it with a little help from a couple of, I suppose, old wrestling coaches, Archimedes and Ike Newton. withinpodcast.com Check out all we have to offer at withinpodcast.com! Today we explored the question of the question, to conduct a study of the Caribbean, where must we begin? This episode is a summary of Lecture 3 which was a five-hour long lecture. This the condensed version of Conceptualizing the course, Caribbean Thought. We ask, when we study the Caribbean Thought, including diverse currents that have shaped its present that speaks to a future, how far must we go back? Where must we start? The answer is a complex one because we stated in class that the Caribbean is an invention of the past which must now reinvent itself in the future if we are to surpass the challenges of the present. We say the Caribbean is uncompetitive stemming from a violent past that continues today through neoliberal Globalization. We did not explore neoliberal globalization but provided an understanding of Neoliberalism, Neo-capitalism &Capitalism. We explain Neoliberalism as a form of liberalism used within economics by capitalists to liberalize economies so as to penetrate thereby ensuring profit. We said that we will explore Neoliberalism in more detail later in relation to its effects on the Caribbean when we watch "Life and Debt" by Stephanie Black based on a book "A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid - a book about Antigua whose experience of structural adjustment and fight for prosperity resembles Jamaica's so that the film could take from the book and talk about Jamaica. This speaks to the symbiotic relation between the West Indies. We examined the processes of Colonization from the perspective of Fanon who defines colonization as involving a violence of depersonalization - stripping away the individual. We provided an academic answer/response to the question: Are "White-Collar in Jamaica a Crimes a result of Colonization"? And Why are crime rates so high in places like Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica? We suggested a Marxist materialist reply - "Relative Deprivation". What is Relative deprivation? We defined it as the correlation between high crime & high poverty and income inequality. Jamaica and the Caribbean suffers from high poverty and inequality correlated with the highest crime rates in the Caribbean. This is commensurate with what is happening is black and brown communities all over the world - hence supporting the conclusion/analysis of "relative deprivation". We pointed out that to study Caribbean Thought is to do philosophical inquiry which involves logic & Descartes phenomenology, who coined "cogito ergo sum" - I think therefore I am. He recognized the subjectivity of reality outside of objective verification. Further, we pushed the exploration of knowledge by discussing Kant who says that history is a result of human nature and circumstances, and questions Newtonian Physics which formed the basis of western civilization's understanding of reality. The Caribbean as part of a reality of western civilization is influenced by that bent. We reviewed the economic history of western society and capitalism stating that it is within a system that has impoverished or weakened the Caribbean States. We revisited Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations & Weber's Protestant Ethic and Spirit of Capitalism regarding the justification and economic principle behind Capitalism. However, we challenged the wealth of nations by invoking Karl Marx who critically re-examines Adam Smith's Accumulation of Capital idea, saying that it was not one in hard work but theft and violence. This then led us to consider the socio-economic/political interests of the Caribbean such as Michael Manley and Fidel Castro who were Nationalists influenced by Marxists critique of capitalism and his idea of Communism. Caribbean Political and literary thinkers were off-center and regarded as Democratic Socialists which had threatened American domination and penetration in the region to what they had believed had given way to socialist ideology. In this episode of The Science of Superpowers, host Tonya Dawn Recla welcomes guest Tom Paladino to the show to talk about Science, Spirituality, and how the two can meet up. They talk about Newtonian Physics, religion, the supernatural, and how the worlds of science and spirituality became disconnected. Tune in today to learn about bridging science and spirituality!
So many times we believe that in the physical world, everything is all based upon force energy or classical physics. This is also called, "Newtonian Physics." We believe that what we do is the result of what we experience. Cause and effect. But, does it have to be this way? If we go into a recession, does it mean everyone will feel the pain of this? Does it mean that when the world was going through the pandemic, it means that everyone will suffer? The easy and quick answer is, "No." But then, why do some suffer or do the majority do and some don't? Is it pure luck? Not at all. There is a deeper layer to things that give us the answers to why this happens and this is all about the world of Quantum. Quantum is the invisible world that makes up our physical world. I am going to be sharing a workshop on the 3rd of November discussing how to utilize quantum to have your business be recession-proof. CLICK HERE to sign up. As always, everything in our life has to do with where we vibe at. In today's episode, I am going to discuss this in much more depth to help you grasp this concept. It is truly a game changer. In this edition of Standup Historian, I continued my conversation with Qafshinra about physics, quantum physics, and the shortcomings of both models. Qafshinra explained some of the basic difficulties of the Standard Model of Newtonian Physics and then introduced his theory, which he passionately calls, the Origami Theory! In the Origami model of the universe, you will find answers to almost every question that Quantum and Newtonian models fail to answer. It seems to be a very logical and strong model and I will continue the talks with Qafshinra to learn more about his theory. Standup Historian

THE Presentations Japan Series by Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan
Reading this headline you might be thinking, “Oh yeah, this guy says he is an expert? Is that really true?”. In this fake news world, that is an entirely reasonable caution. Would the following qualify me: this TEDx talk was my 546th public speech, I am a Master Trainer for Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo Japan and I am a certified High Impact Presentations Instructor having taught thousands of people how to present over the last twenty plus years and I am about to publish my book Japan Presentations Mastery? I thought it might be interesting to pull back the velvet curtain and reveal how I prepared for this talk, expert or otherwise, but at least someone with substantial public speaking experience. TEDx has certain restrictions around what you can talk about and how long you can talk for. The TED mission is to research and discover “ideas worth spreading”. I needed a topic which was a fit for the format and I had up to thirteen minutes to deliver my talk. There are many things I could have addressed on stage, but I thought “Transform Our Relationships” would have universal appeal, because TED talks are broadcast all around the world. The first thing to consider was how to end the talk. I needed to clarify what was the central message I wanted to impart. The title was the central message, so “transform your relationships for the better” became my choice of the close. I also linked the close back to some remarks I made right at the start, so I was able to tie a neat bow on the talk. There are no questions in the TED format, so there was only need to design that one close. I next did some research on what others were saying about transforming relationships. I found a report entitled “Relationships in the 21st Century”. When I read the report, I thought the findings were rather unremarkable and that it would be perfect for debunking at the start. Even a slightly controversial start can be an attention grabber. I left the final design of the opening until the end though. The start has only one aim and that is to grab audience attention to listen to what it is we have to say. I had the end clearly in mind and a vague idea about the opening, so now I needed to build chapters for the talk. Thirteen minutes is quite short, so every word is gold. I thought Dale Carnegie's human relations principles were the perfect tool which I could pass on to the audience to apply in their own relationships. There are thirty human relations principles, so that was too many. I selected seven. Each principle formed a chapter, so that made the construction of the talk quite easy. I needed some flesh on the bones of this skeleton of the talk though, so I selected some easy to access examples of how to use the principles. Some of these story vignettes were created to make the point and some were actual examples from real life. I needed a bridge between the start of the talk and the Dale Carnegie human relations principles, which would set the scene for what was to come. I drew on some well known influencers – Mahatma Gandhi and Isaac Newton. I wanted to make the point that the secret of achieving a transformation was to start with yourself, rather than expecting everyone else to change to suit you. Gandhi's quote is well known: “become the change you wish to see in the world”. Perfect. Also, every high school student has studied Newtonian Physics and so remember his proclamation that “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”. Perfect. I could make the point that if we want to transform our relationships, we can change the angle of approach with others and we will get a different reaction. This was extremely easy for an audience to grasp as a concept to transform their relationships. I made this a core message linking each chapter back to the central thesis of “start with changing your angle of approach”. My final design task was to go back and polish the opening, so that it would grab attention. I selected the conclusion from the report and then denounced it as too obvious. By doing so I have now engaged the audience to anticipate what I am going to say, if I am not accepting this report's conclusion as sufficient enough to understand relationship building in the 21st century. I wasn't doing this for dramatic effect. I honestly thought it was all too obvious. If it had delivered some earth shattering insight, then I would have used that instead as an authority reinforcement. Rehearsal is so critical in giving talks. I soon discovered I had too much material for the time allowed, so one of the human relations principles had to be jettisoned overboard. I had organised the talk into chapters, so each one was complete in itself. Rather than trying to water down the other chapters to squeeze in chapter seven, it was better to keep the others powerful and reduce one chapter. I then took all of that content and then wrote it up a complete script. I don't normally do this step. However, I knew there was no way I would remember every single word of a thirteen minute talk, but this script gave me the core content to draw on. Obviously, I wasn't going to read it to the audience – that would be a fake expert! I recorded it and played it over and over to myself about ten times, until I had absorbed flow of the talk in my mind. I did another three live rehearsals with the cut down materials and kept editing to make sure I could get through it in under thirteen minutes. At the beginning I had toyed with the idea of no slides so that all of the attention would be on me. In the end, I decided that slides would help me with the navigation. This talk goes around the world, so my personal and professional reputations were on the line here, especially when you go around saying you are an expert on public speaking. I thought it was better to be smooth in my delivery and not to lose my place or have a brain whiteout while on live streaming camera, especially as that means no edit rescue capability. Once I had selected the slides I wanted, I made sure I owned the use of these slide images. I could have just taken some images down off the internet, but there is a copyright issue right there. We all need to respect the IP of the owners of those images. I also made sure I had pictures with people in them where ever possible. This is always of more interest to an audience. On the day before the talk, I did five full blood, full power rehearsals and recorded them, so I could check how I sounded. On the day of the delivery, I recorded ten full power rehearsals at home, one after another, checking the time to make sure I didn't go over the thirteen minutes limit. Full rehearsal, full power, with many repetitions is key. Of course this was very tiring, but I didn't worry about peaking before the event. I knew my nervous energy would kick in once I was on stage under the lights, facing the live streaming cameras and the assembled audience. On the day, there was a technical issue with the screen in front of the stage. It is located so that the speaker can see what is being displayed on the main screen behind them. I wasn't worried. I had confidence thanks to my rehearsals, that I could do the talk without slides, if I needed to. For whatever reason it worked perfectly for me, so I reproduced my delivery as I had practiced it over and over and over. In the Green Room I didn't chat with the other speakers. I concentrated on slowing my breathing down to make sure I was calm and quietly read the full script again. When I was being wired up for the talk, I made sure the head attachment microphone was pulled out away from my cheek and mouth, because I knew I would be pr4ojecting a lot of power to my audience. I didn't want any audio dissonance from my being loud, to find its way on to the recording. As it turned out, four seconds before I was due to go on, they needed to fix a technical issue, so they decided to show a TED video instead. Naturally I was fully psyched up ready to go and then had to stop everything. This type of stop-start thing can throw your equilibrium off balance. I had had this experience before when I was a karate athlete in competition finals, when there was an interruption and a sudden delay before you go on to the mats to fight. I immediately moved away from the people there in order to keep my concentration at full peak condition. I happened to notice there was a mirror around the corner of the back stage area. While they ran the video, I began quietly starting my talk while looking at the mirror, so that I could see my gestures etc., as I got ready to go on. We cannot allow anything to cause us to lose our concentration or peak energy levels, before we hit the stage. I walked confidently to the round red carpet, which was my spot from which to talk, paused to enjoy the applause and create some anticipation. I then hit the opening hard with a strong voice and a big double arm gesture. The rest of the talk went pretty close to my plan. The key thing to note is, only I knew what the plan was! At the end I bowed, stayed there to receive the applause and then unhurriedly, I walked off, again showing confidence. First and last impressions are being formed as soon as we move to and from our positions and we have to have those planned as well. Someone rushing from the stage leaves a different impression to someone staying there momentarily and then walking off with purpose.f

Isaac Newton put forth his famous laws of motion and gravity, but Einstein discovered that when objects approached the speed of light, the laws couldn’t work. ThePrint’s Sandhya Ramesh compares Newtonian physics and Einstein’s theory of general relativity.
We keep talking about the Multiverse. What does that even mean? Is it actually a thing? Why is sad Stuart sad? It is because of his dead cat? Which human should we put in a supercollider, and why? Are Stuart’s dreams actually interdimensional travel, or just crazy talk? What is reality? All these questions and more are answered with even more questions by a theoretical physicist who also happens to be a Burner, Adam Brown.LIVE.BURNINGMAN.ORG

Each of us creates our own reality from our interpretations of the things we observe. A systematic pattern of interpretations is called a cognitive bias. This is how a cognitive bias works: If you believe that elves cause rain, then every occurrence of rain is proof of elves. Cognitive biases can be miniscule or massive. Wikipedia has 192 of the most common of them organized alphabetically in their https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases (List of Cognitive Biases.) Here are a few of my favorites: Third-Person Effect – Belief that mass communicated media messages have a greater effect on others than on themselves. Cheerleader Effect – The tendency for people to appear more attractive in a group than in isolation. Halo Effect – The tendency for a person's positive or negative traits to “spill over” from one personality area to another in our perceptions of them. This is similar to the Physical Attractiveness Stereotype, in which we assume that people who are physically attractive also possess other socially desirable qualities. And then, of course, there are some tragic cognitive biases, such as: Compassion Fade – The predisposition to behave more compassionately towards a small number of identifiable victims than to a large number of anonymous ones. Naïve Realism – The belief that we see reality as it really is – objectively and without bias; that the facts are plain for all to see; that rational people will agree with us; and that those who don't are either uninformed, lazy, irrational, or biased. But there is one pair of cognitive biases that isn't on Wikipedia's list, and these biases run so deep in us that they form our beliefs about the nature of reality and how the universe works. This pair of cognitive biases would more accurately be called a duality, since the closer you move toward one of them, the further you move away from the other. Let's call them “Cause-and-Effect” “You Can't Know for Certain Until You Get There.” “Cause-and-Effect” assumes that we live in an organized universe which can be predicted with certainty if only we have enough data. “Cause-and-Effect” is the world of Newtonian Physics and cooking with a recipe. “Plan your work and work your plan.” The opposing belief is that we can calculate probabilities, but “You Can't Know for Certain Until You Get There.” This is the world of improvisation, Plan B, and the ability to cook something wonderful from whatever you happen to find in the pantry. “Work with what you've got.” Physicists have been trying to reconcile these belief systems since 1927 when General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics were discovered to be mutually exclusive, although both can be proven unconditionally. Einstein, the champion of “Cause and Effect” said to Niels Bohr, “I, at any rate, am convinced that God does not throw dice.” To which Niels Bohr, the champion of “You Can't Know for Certain Until You Get There,” replied, “Quit telling God what to do with his dice.” Physicist Stephen Hawking would later add, “Not only does God play dice, but he sometimes throws them where they cannot be seen.” Your internal, unconscious belief system dictates whether you willA: create a recipe, a step-by-step plan, and then seek to acquire the elements to actualize that plan, or B: acquire whatever is available to you and then figure out how to organize it for maximum effect. Both systems have proven to be profoundly effective. Never try to convince a practitioner of the opposite system that their way of thinking is stupid, foolish, or self-limiting. They probably have a long list of accomplishments that will prove you wrong. Roy H. Williams
Our first Process Theology episode is finally here! We know many of our listeners have been waiting to hear more about this particular theology that was introduced to the Irenicast audience by Bonnie in episode #136. We expect there will be more conversations on this topic to follow. Because, in this episode, we just dip our toes into the realm of possibilities embedded in process thought and theology. As you’ll hear, Process Theology emerges out of Alfred North Whitehead’s metaphysics of reality as process which fundamentally contradicts reality as substance. This creates an opportunity for a shift in the way we see God. What if God’s everlastingness is rooted in eternal evolution/change? What if the stars are not aligned according to God’s purposes but instead they are in constant flux in relationship to God’s and each other’s processes of becoming? What if God’s love for the world is not a controlling love but a vulnerable, receptive love that delights in each one’s process of becoming? If we follow the “what ifs”, everything changes. You decide if it's for the better. The episode finishes by engaging in a roller coaster of a round of Would You Rather. Prepare to get weird and thoughtful with a segment that quickly goes off the rails, finds a new track and finally ends with a return to the original track. If that sounds confusing, it is. Note: This post may not make much sense unless you read (or listen to) the previous post first. What I've been doing... As reviewed in the last post, I have spent more than three-and-a-half years attempting to help strengthen permaculture's weakest links, or, in other words, solve permaculture's biggest problems. In this approach, success is tacitly defined as the degree to which the weak link or problem is made to go away.40 The Problem with Solving Problems Phase Two of Making Permaculture Stronger starts with my realisation that focusing on problems, even if the problems are getting solved, does not and cannot solve the problem that the whole approach of solving problems is itself, well, problematic.41 Joel Glanzberg has summarised the situation perfectly: We are so accustomed to machines and the mechanical world of Newtonian Physics that we can barely think about how to address the problems of a living world. We try to fix them as we would an old truck: We identify the bad part that is to blame for the problem and repair, replace, or remove it. This is our general approach to everything from medicine to foreign policy to justice. We try to get tumors, dictators and other “bad guys” to reform or we simply replace them. Then, we are continually surprised when new tumors, symptoms, or bad guys promptly arise to take their place. Changing the manifestation of living systems without shifting the underlying causal patterns will always be an uphill battle and often takes us in the wrong direction, like super-gluing the cracks in a hatching eggshell. As has Carol Sanford (in this article): When you start well-intended efforts by identifying a “problem,” you are trapped into thinking that you have to fix it. This leads you on a search for the causes and results in efforts to try out many solutions. It pulls all of your energy toward an endless effort that is based on the mindset that got people into the rut in the first place. Einstein warned us about that. Hmmm. This is exactly the sense in which I have been trying to 'solve permaculture's problems.' Oh well, it's not like nothing good has come from this approach (and yet it is time for a fundamental change of direction)... Now I do not think all this effort has been a waste. Absolutely not! I have learned a heap that has really boosted my ability to serve as a permaculture design process facilitator. I know this is also true for permaculture colleagues around the world. Almost weekly someone reaches out with gratitude for how this project has inspired and supported them to deepen their own design process understandings and practices. Nonetheless, I’m clear it's time Making Permaculture Stronger explicitly extracts itself from the business of dabbling in problems. Where I spend countless hours focusing on aspects of permaculture that I don't even like. On weak links. On problems. Problems that worry me. Problems that demoralise me. Problems that as best I can tell are getting in the way of permaculture's ability to evolve toward deeper and fuller expressions of its potential. I'm glad for everything this effort has created and I want to make a clean break from the whole mentality. It is time for something different. Thankfully there is an alternative that resonates so deeply it brings shivers to my spine. Regenerating from the Core Having spelled out the futility of the problem-solving mentality, Carol Sanford brilliantly illuminates an alternative approach: Okay! Okay! So what do we do? As crazy as it sounds, we skip over what exists. We act as though the problem doesn’t matter. This sounds harsh, even cruel, but consider: within regenerative processes, problems are not useful information. Nature doesn’t care that rat populations are exploding in the suburban countryside. Regeneration in this instance occurs when this niche within the ecosystem is filled by returning populations of foxes and owls.

Lending money can be difficult. Any good investor should understand the importance of doing background checks prior to finalizing any transaction. Who to loan money to can often be decided through that person's reputation. No one would want to fall on the empathy trap and end up trusting the wrong person. Predicting and verifying are key to loaning money. The gut is a powerful tool in lending and instinct can make or break and investment.. Verifying is a crucial part of investing. In every aspect of it, one needs to understand the value of doing background checks before putting precious money into jeopardy. — Listen to the podcast here: Background Checks And Why You Should Use Them I'm on a trip to London, England and I’m here to give a presentation on the claims that we’ve had, what we see are the common causes, the amounts of these claims and how much they’re going to cost underwriters and insurance companies. I have been tapped by my company to present at Lloyd’s of London in the Old Library, which for me is quite an honor. I know people in London do it all the time, but to have a Texan come across the pond and the company pay for it, to put on an hour and a half presentation, for me, it's very much a humble brag. Take that for what it’s worth, but at the same time, I am very happy to be here. This is a huge thing for me. It’s on my bucket list and I’m happy to be sharing some of this with you because as a private lender, I still have a day job. That’s what I’m trying to coach with people. Keep your day job, stay on top of it and private lend on the side to help the old retirement out a little bit. I jumped on the Heathrow Express at Paddington Station and I decided I’m going to cab it over to my hotel. I did that, got checked in, changed in my suit, hoofed it over to the office, gave a presentation for one of the London brokers on fracking, a preview of what I’m going to do. Thankfully, it went very well. For that, I am grateful and very happy, but I have not recorded near as much as I had hoped to. I have a composition book full of notes. It's my first opportunity to put something meaningful on tape. I’ve been here for about five days, I would hope to have five recordings. I jumped off the plane. I was busy and then I had the presentation. The next day I had coffees, lunches, coffees and pints, dinner with my boss, our chairman. Friday, I ate a meal. It did not agree with me and it didn’t show up until late Friday night. Saturday has been a complete wash, just lying in bed, being miserable and drinking lots of water. I got up at 6:15, London time. It’s 12:15 for Central Houston time. I fumbled my way on the tube, on the subway, because there are four lines that were closed. One of them was the one that I needed. I ended up going to Paddington Station, which is the completely wrong station I needed for the ticket I wanted. After about £20 of cab fare and some looking on my smartphone, I finally got over to King's Cross Station in London. I took a train up to Cambridge and I’m so glad I did it. It’s nothing out of the ordinary except when you consider that Cambridge University and Trinity College is where both Stephen Hawking and Sir Isaac Newton attended. Newtonian Physics, black holes, http://www.hawking.org.uk/a-brief-history-of-time.html (A Brief History of Time), all that was figured out in this town. Background Checks: Always verify before trusting somebody. Of course, it’s full of tourists. I can’t tell you how many American accents I heard, which normally is disappointing to me when I travel. I’m a snob, I will admit it. I can’t tell you the number of nationalities I heard and saw while I was hoofing it, backpacking it through Cambridge. What an amazing day. Disparagingly, I’m going to say Cambridge is the Oklahoma of the UK. I’ll tell you why.

One of the most important reasons to strengthen the mind is because of its instantaneous, inextricable, and profound relationship with the body. In fact, with the quantity and quality of emerging scientific research these days on the mind-body relationship, I predict there'll be a new, condensed word soon for “mind-body relationship” and it'll simply be mind-body. --- Last year a documentary came out on the subject entitled, HEAL. I went to see it in the theaters and was blown away at how many brilliant experts were included and how densely packed the film is with hugely important information and practices for us to understand and integrate so that we can enjoy life with optimal health. --- I am over the moon pumped about the fact that our guest today is the Writer, Director, Producer of the fabulous and fabulously important documentary, Heal, Kelly Noonan Gores. --- There a million highlights from this conversation. In fact, the conversation ITSELF is one big highlight. But here are a few of the moments that moved me to make a note: -5:38 - When asked WHY she created this film, Kelly references the impact that Epigeneticist and Stem Cell Researcher, Dr. Bruce Lipton had upon her. -10:22 - The Universe is a Conspiracist! - 11:55 - I put her on the spot to summarize the main message of the movie into ONE sentence, and she hit it out of the park! -18:14 - Yep. We're still a little “Cavemanny.” How our brains are still hardwired for surviving versus thriving. -19:04 - The old school Newtonian Physics vs. modern day Quantum Physics and how we Cause Effects with our minds and our hearts. -26:40 - Why mediation is so practical and important for us right now. “Decluttering.” -29:56 - The amazing near death experience and spontaneous (or not so spontaneous but certainly radical) remission of best selling author of the book, Dying To Be Me, Anita Moorjani's stage 4 lymphoma. Her transition from fear to love and how that cured her. In 5 weeks! -37:08 - Channeling Pure Divine Love. -40:30 - Gregg Barden and the mechanics of Heart Math - how the heart and brain collaborate. -45:25 - Darren Weissman and his very unusual Lifeline Technique of healing, even severe diagnoses. -58:19 - The power of gratitude and not only giving thanks for what you have but also giving thanks for the future that you're creating! --- How to follow/connect with Kelly: Facebook: Heal Documentary Instagram: @healdocumentary and @kellygores --- https://christopherdorris.com/tough-talks-kelly-noonan-goreswriter-director-producer/ --- If you enjoyed this content and you are not getting notifications of new posts, then I invite you to signup to my list. Beyond the Imprint: A New Modality for Mental Health Practitioners and Those Seeking Their Help Beyond the Imprint (BTI) heralds a new paradigm of thinking within the field of mental health counseling that is beyond the duality of our unconscious conditioning. Quantum Physics is beginning to replace the mechanistic view of Newtonian Physics and is teaching us with every new discovery that we are intimately interconnected with our environment and everything in it. This includes the understanding that we can change what is outside of us by simply changing ourselves. The goal of BTI is for the therapist to facilitate a safe, therapeutic experience in which the client is able to explore, identify and dissolve imprinting at the cellular level that has distorted self-identity and informed dysfunctional behavioral and relationship patterns throughout the course of their lifetime. Kate O'Connell is a Child and Family therapist with a private practice in Charlottesville, VA, addressing the therapeutic needs of children, adolescents, adults and families. This week welcome to the show Katy Bowman. She is a biomechanist, movement ecologist and author of books on natural movement, human development and diseases of captivity. In this show, she introduces a new concept called movement-based lifestyle. It is one that keeps all of you moving—from your arms and legs to your microbiome—gives you large doses of “Vitamin Nature,” and “Vitamin Community.” It is the addition of movement back into life. Katy Bowman, M.S. has earned an international reputation for achieving unprecedented results in reducing pain, increasing bone density, improving metabolic health, and solving pelvic floor mysteries. She is the founder and director of the Restorative Exercise Institute, a large organization and online training program that teaches the biomechanical model of preventative medicine to health professionals and laypeople worldwide. The author of Every Woman’s Guide to Foot Pain Relief: The New Science of Healthy Feet (2011), Alignment Matters: The First Five Years of Katy Says (2013), and Move Your DNA (coming Fall, 2014), Katy’s writing explore the relationship between cultural habits, movement, and disease. She is the creator and talent of the Aligned and Well DVD series and blogs regularly at Katy Says. Questions we ask in this episode: How important is footwear? What’s the difference between exercise and movement? Why is gym-focused fitness unsustainable? We live in a world where everything is outsourced and done for us. How much do you think this is effecting us? Society encourages us to move less, how we can reverse that trend? Shop: http://shop.180nutrition.com.au/ This week we're doing it with the awesome Katie Bowman. Now, if you're not familiar with Katie, she is a Bio-mechanist, by training, and she is a serious wealth of information. An awesome lady, and a very passionate, and I thoroughly enjoyed this interview today. She is the author of 7 books and we got her on the podcast today to chat about a new book, "Movement Matters," and I will say this much about the interview, it has really continued to get me thinking about how I spend my day, and essentially on whether I'm moving or not, you know, and obviously, you know, I'm here now from a stand up desk. That's what I'm doing, recording this from, but what Katie was really stressing and getting across today is to actually look at the way we're actually not moving at all and stillness. [00:01:30] Me in the standing desk, yes it is a solution from sitting down, but I can still remain still standing, which might not necessarily be helping the cause, and that's just got me thinking about that after the podcast anyway. I am going to be looking at Katie's work much more closely and how I bring more movement into my day. It's one thing I'm very passionate about, because ultimately what Katie will explain today is movement and exercise are 2 different things from a technical standpoint too. [00:02:00] It will definitely get you thinking. There is loads of nuggets of wisdom in there, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it, and please let us know if you do. 2 things guys; hit me up on Snapchat. My username is guyl180 or even Instagram stories. It you will reach me. Let us know which content you're enjoying at the moment, you know, what podcast are you finding interesting, you know, we're always on the hunt to bring in more guests. [00:02:30] We've got some phenomenal guests lined up over the next 2 months as well, which I'm very excited about, but ultimately as well we want to make sure that we're providing in value and content for you guys to listen to, as well as myself, cause you know, there's nothing that pleases me more than being able to reach out to some of these people and get them all, and be able to spend an hour with them and chat to them, and pick their brains really, and share across the channels. [00:03:00] Yeah, please let us know if there is anyone in particular that ... Or the type of content we do, and cause we're exploring all avenues, because you might know I'm very passionate about meditation, but we're bringing in movement, and then, you know, mindset and obviously the health aspects as well. Yeah, let us know from that and of course, if you listen to this on a regular basis and you're not subscribed to our iTunes channel, we'd love it if you are. Just hit the subscribe button. 5 star it, if you think we're worth it. It really just helps rankings. [00:03:30] I ask every week. I'll continue to ask, purely because it just helps drive this message out there more and more, and leave an honest review. We read them all. We do read them out now and then on the podcast. I'm not set up for it now. I completely forgot, because I was going to read one out, but I'll do it in the next episode. Anyway, let's go over to Katie Bowman, and all your support is greatly appreciated guys. Enjoy. Hi, this is Guy Lawrence. I'm joined with Stewart Cook. Hey Stewart? Stu Halo Guy. Guy Our lovely guest today is Katie Bowman. Katie welcome to the show. Katy Hey, thanks for having me. Guy [00:04:00] Fantastic. You know it's interesting Katie. Your name kept coming up on our podcast, sort of over the last 6 to 9 months, with different interviews, and I thought, "Wow. I've got to check this Katie out," and I looked on to your website, and I saw, "A day in the life of Katie Bowman," this great big blog post, and I thought that was absolutely fantastic, so I was hooked from that point on, and then obviously researched you, and you've currently come on today, so yeah, appreciate it mate. Thank you. Katy Oh very well. Guy [00:04:30] The first question is, just to ... Because I'm pretty sure we'll be exposing you to a new audience as well, if a stranger stopped you on the street and asked you what you did for a living, what would you say? Katy Well in one word I'm a Bio-mechanist, you know, career wise I'm a Bio-mechanist, but then that word usually requires lots of other words to explain what it is, but it's someone who studies the mechanical nature of living phenomenon. Guy Right. Katy Anything that's living Bio, so whether it's plants or animals or all of it together and mechanics, Newtonian Physics, pressure, forces, friction, but what are the mechanics of living systems, you know, living systems have rules, and everything living falls under the laws of the physical universe and what does that mean for how they work. That's what a Biomechanist is interested in, and then I personally studied human mechanics, you know, was my university training. With Mark away on holiday, it falls to Dave to try and reign his charges in and keep them on topic (hint: he fails). The guys talk Mini Coopers, Barbershop, Nolan North, Dave's Sexual Preferences, Fortresses of The Dwarven Variety, E3 and Mass Effect 3. We also talk about Mortal Kombat, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Zone of The Enders, Newtonian Physics and how Gabe Newell will eventually murder Sean for hassling him about Half Life 2: Episode 3. Cast: Dave Rose, Stewart Loudon, Darren Fotheringham & Sean McCarter
An introduction to basic Newtonian Physics, including a discussion of forces, velocity, acceleration, Newton’s three laws of motion, and some common misconceptions about forces. I also discuss circular motion, and conclude with a brief look at the physics of walking and driving a car.
Question: “There can be only one absolute truth, I believe God wants us to make an effort to find this truth, (himself).” “I read your blogs and would like to know what you mean in describing the dichotomy between the "creator god" and the god that might deliver one beyond this futile creation. Where does YHVH (Yahweh) fit in all of this?” We go through life, prodding our way, making decisions based on assumptions of truth and reality handed down to us, or extrapolated from prior experience, and which we in the moment grant absolute status. Even realizing the potential error inherent in our assumptions, we press forward, because we believe without question that there must be some “absolute” reality to make sense of it all. We assume there must be a “personal” creator. By personal I mean a supreme being or entity that is the first cause of all that is the realm of creation that we can see, touch, smell, hear, and in any other way or manner perceive, and this personal creator is “personal” in that “He” manifests attributes and qualities associated with humans, thus binding him in relation to humankind. We go through life and experience and realize many things that we cannot explain or find difficult to fit into our evolved logical reasonable categories. For each individual person the level of this cognitive development may be different. That does not necessarily mean one may be superior to another cognitively, but it may, but what it infers is rather there is a lack of exercise to develop, experience and realize, potentials of thought or spiritual perception that are not commonly recognized and endorsed as the “norm”. We live in a “religious” world. Some find ourselves in the context of a western culture dominated and influenced by an “orthodox” Christian (oC) world view. This “oC” paradigm has experienced mutations through the centuries (i.e. accommodating scientific relativism, the Reformation, and more), but has been able to survive to exert influence in our culture, beyond the politically correct accepted stratum deemed acceptable by the society as a whole. Even those who would call themselves atheists find themselves bound to the influence of the dominant cultural influence. It’s a matter of survival. In other areas of the world, the predominant religious influence differs, but the exertion of influence within those cultures, is comparable (Islamic cultures, Hindu, Buddhist, relativistic humanism, etc). Being “dropped” in the middle of any of these cultural situations, from birth or transmigration, one is left with the dilemma of fitting in, or being ostracized for being “different”. That does not mean one cannot be individually different, but there are usually costs and consequences deemed too high for the distinction of being “true” to ones self. You can see much of this in the cultural seasonal celebrations and holidays we partake in. Nobody (or very few) wants to be considered a “Scrooge”. As we make our way in life, most of us simply want to survive. And if we can accomplish that, the next priority is to build some sense of security, a financial nest egg, property, and a position of influence – something that gives us a sense of power over our own lives. Having these, the desire to control that which is beyond us – others - through financial, political, and religious means. Doing this means accommodating the systems that be. To advocate something that is not considered the “orthodox” norm (and I use orthodox in the broadest sense here to include orthodox economic, orthodox political, and orthodox religious norm), going against the flow of society in general, is a very risky under taking and can lead to disastrous personal and collective results, should failure or no realization be the case. Better to work within the established system and “play it safe”. But what if any of these “systems” are built on faulty assumptions, deficient concepts granted a relative absolute (that makes good sense - duh!!!) status, and perpetuated through history and culture because the effort and risk to stand against the inertia and momentum gained by the systems over the centuries is monumental at least and humanly impossible by any perception? We are delivered in the first five books of the Old Testament, the Torah, the “law”, whose authorship is generally attributed to Moses, a perception of “God”, as recognized and realized in the lives of men, from the first man, Adam, through Noah, to the confusion of language and dispersion, and the patriarchs of Israel, to the Exodus out of Egypt of the people of Israel and their wanderings in the desert for forty years. It is essentially upon this perception that Israel conceived their notion of YHVH (Yahweh), the “only one absolute truth”, the “one true God”. Scripture, those deemed acceptable, and interpreted as literally absolute, and interpreted and applied as was most beneficial to the situation at hand, upholding the honor of YHVH, and or politically expeditious, became the religious and social mandate. The assumption of the literal absolutism of the “Torah” and what is attributed to the Prophet Moses, assume more than the Prophet was, and an infallibility, not only of the absolute nature of scripture but a “perfection” of the man Moses in relation to the one true god, YHVH. Based on these perceptions and notions, the people of YHVH went forth and conquered, settled and lived in relation to their “perception” of YHVH. But was this perception of the one true god, as held by Moses, and subsequent generations (even as they progressively defined it), Was this the “true” absolute conception as “God” truly is? Is YHVH truly “God”, or is he purely a conception of “God”, and an imperfect one at that? We all have our own conceptions and perceptions of who or what “God” is. Some of these are based on religious texts, accepted scriptures and other commentary, feelings and intuitions. Even individuals relying on the same scripture and resources, with similar experience and background, each one has a unique and personal perception of what God is. Denominationally bound and united congregational entities, when it comes right down to the individual personal understanding of the divine, each is personal and unique. What binds us together as a people is not the true knowledge and understanding of God, but commonly held conveniences of dogma and doctrine. In these “commonly held conveniences of dogma and doctrine” our religious system manifests. These, quite apart from the life of what may be “God”. From their beginnings, this was the preference of the people of Israel. For fear, or what ever other quality of human nature, they chose not to meet with God as He is, but rather required the intermediary Moses to hear God for them, to deliver to them, what they feared they could not bear. Fear and ignorance, not Moses’ but the peoples, essentially became the predominant guiding force in receiving and understanding God. Religion has a way of simplifying things we are not willing to meet first hand and face to face. What ever it is that we conceive and perceive God as, in our minds, as in the case of Israel, that is the God we will serve, and that is the God that will manifest in our lives. “Where does YHVH (Yahweh) fit in all of this?” We have a tendency that we want to hold onto some sense of security arising from past perceptions. If I conceive something new, will I truly be secure in it? What if I’m wrong? We need to come to an understanding as to whether YHVH was and IS, the only one true God, OR “is YHVH and all the baggage that comes along with him, and everything done in his name, is this only a ‘perception’ of the one true god?” Is it possible that in our quest to “know” the one true God, the “only one absolute truth” (presuming there is such a thing), that the errors of our predecessors and their declaration of absolutes, has diverted us and derailed the spiritual train we find ourselves on. Is it possible that our concern is more for maintaining a humanly comfortable status quo, to get by the best we can, rather than face the music and stand in the gap of cultural social and religious error? Has our religion become, in the words of Karl Marx, “the opiate of the masses”, but it is more convenient and comfortable than the alternative? Is it possible that Jesus, and many prophets and sages before him, realized a dynamic of humanity, that is not so readily perceptible to what we understand as normal human senses, yet is there, and we partake of it, but in ignorance, partly by choice, neglect or reject it. And not so unoften, are discouraged from realizing it, by well meaning, dogmatic “others”, living in ignorance themselves. I believe “God”, or what we call “God”, is closer than we realize. This, I believe, IS “God” as Jesus knew Him. Is He personal? Yes – No – Maybe. I relate to “Him” personally. But that is essentially because of many things in “me”. The way my mind can conceive and perceive “Him”. “Him”, this is an anthropomorphism, that I use, but, I question its actual validity. We are on the edge of a universal paradigm shift. Human conception of reality has experienced these periodically through out history. Our understanding of “creation” began to shift about a hundred years ago. It is only now beginning to experience broader acceptance. Most of the church lives in a conception of reality based on Newtonian Physics. Though expressing a relative truth, and held as absolute for many centuries, that absolute bubble is being shattered. The understanding of spirit and matters’ relation in a unified field of being, and our connectedness are only now beginning to surface. Our religious problem is not that its is contrary to Jesus, or unbiblical, it is that we have preconceived ideas of how reality must fit into our religious system. This has always been the human problem. Change implies new order. New order means a change in hierarchy. Change is threatening, but “ignorance”, even more so. The God we worship, the perception of the God we hold in our minds, this is the God that manifests reality. We are Gods ability to manifest in our lives and creation. Considering the state of creation, the world, our personal lives, collectively, through prayer, thought, visualization, feeling, - what is the reality of the “God” we worship?
