The initiative aims to enhance security and improve the availability of spare parts for the country's Patriot ground-based air defense systems. Bern emphasized that the initiative aligns with its neutrality policy, with the option to withdraw from the partnership if any member country becomes involved in an international armed conflict. 7. Australia Receives First Delivery of 142 HIMARS Launchers. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his United States counterpart, Donald Trump, have had what the Russian government describes as a detailed and frank exchange. Mr Putin has agreed to stop attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure for the next 30 days - but hasn't agreed to a full ceasefire, expressing concerns Ukraine could use a full 30-day truce to re-arm itself and mobilise more soldiers. The US says further negotiations will begin immediately, and take place in the Middle East.

France is hosting an emergency summit regarding the war in Ukraine while US and Russian officials are en route to Saudi Arabia for their own talks to try to end the conflict. Ukraine's Prime Minister is also in the Middle East, but won't be part of the talks. US Navy: First Columbia-Class Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarine Combat Ready in 2030. The first sub in the class is the USS District of Columbia (SSBN-826).6. USAF Next Generation Ejection Seat (NGES) Program under review. By the end of the year, the Air Force plans to complete a review of the Next Generation Ejection Seat (NGES) program, whose contract is currently held by Collins Aerospace (who beat out Martin-Baker in 2019). Once the review concludes, the Air Force could still stick with its incumbent acquisition strategy, where Collins is already underway with work on the F-15E- or theoretically- result in some split of work between the two companies.
