Welcome back to Pep Talk Friday! In this episode of Raising Confident Girls, Melissa Jones dives into something so many parents quietly worry about: How do I really support my daughter when I'm not even sure what she's feeling? Melissa reminds us that being a steady, safe presence matters far more than having the perfect words or a flawless plan.In this episode, you'll hear:Why you don't need to know exactly what's going on to still show up as a safe, grounded parentHow a quiet daughter isn't necessarily shutting you out—and what she may actually be needingWhy our girls often want connection, not solutionsHow being truly present can soothe big emotions more than any advice ever couldWhy it's okay if your daughter doesn't open up right away (and how giving her time builds trust)This episode is a gentle reminder that you don't have to fix everything—you just have to be there. Your warm, steady presence creates the space your daughter needs to process her feelings, move through tough moments, and feel deeply supported. If you know a parent who might need this encouragement today, share the episode with them. Dear Boss Babe... if you are thinking I should be further along by now… This episode is your reminder that hustling yourself into the ground is not the path — intention is. If you've been battling burnout, second-guessing your pace, or comparing your journey to someone who isn't living your reality… this one's for you. In today's pep talk, I'm pulling back the curtain on what it really looks like to build a dream while holding down a 9–5 — the identity shifts, the emotional weight, and the discipline it takes to grow without slipping into hustle culture or burning yourself out. You'll walk away feeling grounded, re-centered, and reminded of what your spirit already knows: You are not behind. You are building with intention, not urgency. Why your pace does not determine your potential How high achievers accidentally slip into burnout loops Using your 9–5 as leverage instead of letting it drain you The difference between building with pressure vs purpose The self-care habits that keep you steady through the climb The mindset reframe that every multi-hyphenate founder needs ✨ If you loved this pep talk, go listen to the full episode (#128) where I break down the actual structure, boundaries, and energy management skills that help you grow both sides of your life without crumbling under the pressure. ✨ Come connect with me on Instagram: @theerickanicole / @bossbabereset ✨ Podcast produced by: Your Girl Media Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode of The Queen of Pep Talks, Jessica Battle breaks down one of the most important principles in self-worth and relationships: you teach people how to treat you. She explores how the standards you hold, the boundaries you honor, and the consistency you show yourself become the blueprint for how others show up in your life.Jessica dives into the difference between expectations and standards, why early effort in relationships means nothing without consistency, and how self-betrayal often leads to resentment, disappointment, and feeling unseen. She shares the patterns women fall into—overgiving, people-pleasing, ignoring red flags, or hoping someone will “change”—and teaches listeners how to reclaim their power by embodying the treatment they want to receive. With her signature tough love and compassion, Jessica guides listeners through building sustainable self-standards, communicating needs confidently, and choosing relationships that reflect their worth. Hello lovelies,Welcome to December! I love the Christmas season - the mince pies, the sparkling lights, the music, the crafting, the gingerbread house making, the wintery films, all the snuggling under blankets and having an actual real-life tree in the house dripping with lights and homemade decorations. I also love this month, of course, because it is THE Goodbye, Hello season - the season of collectively reflecting and dreaming. This is the month where many of us will crack open our brand new Goodbye 2025, Hello 2026 journals for the first time to start the journey of reflecting back on the year we've each been through and watch our dreams and desires for the year ahead emerge on the pages of our journals. Getting to do that process at the same time as thousands of people all over the world, feels utterly magical to me! And so in today's Pep-Talk… I'm sharing a juicy slice of a conversation I had recently with the wonderful Claire Venus ✨ over on Sparkle on Substack, where we talked about the journal, the power of reflecting and dreaming and the different ways we can help turn those dreams into reality. Claire - who has been doing the journal herself this year - shares how it has acted like an anchor for her through a turbulent year - keeping her grounded, reminding her to pause, helping her find the joy threaded through the hard bits, and nudging her back toward the things that fill up her cup.And we went deep into:* Why reflecting back is just as important as dreaming forward* How quarterly and monthly check-ins help to keep you anchored to what is most important to you* Why even the toughest years hold beauty and wisdom when you slow down enough to look* How turning a five-year vision into something visible (big paper, felt tips, wall!) is a really power way to actually help it come alive* The magic that happens when you keep your dreams in front of you, not hidden in a closed journal* The power of doing these check-ins and reflections together - both for the accountability and the inspiration it offersThis conversation left me feeling so filled up and inspired. I've included a juicy slice of it in today's Pep-Talk - and you can watch the whole conversation, over here

The holidays are here, and before the chaos kicks in, we wanted to sit down for a cozy reset with you. Think of this as the pep talk we all need—the kind you can take with you on a walk, a drive, or while you hide in the pantry for a minute of quiet. Today we're sharing the mindset shifts and simple strategies that help us move through the holidays with more ease, compassion, and actual enjoyment. We talk about why we both love one big open-invite approach to Thanksgiving, what it's like hosting when your family has complicated dynamics, and how to offer grace to your partner if they come from a divorced family. Abby opens up about growing through the disappointment of people not showing up, and Amy shares a grounding reminder for anyone juggling multiple households. We also dig into the lighter stuff—like food. Hosting doesn't mean you have to do it all. Press the easy button, buy the pie, ask guests to bring what they need, or pack your own if you're visiting. The goal isn't perfection; it's presence. And since tricky conversations happen, we share a few simple phrases you can keep in your back pocket when topics start going sideways. Getting your partner on the same page helps too, even if it doesn't always work perfectly. As moms of three who often have 15+ people in our homes, we also talk about stepping away when you need a breather. Whether it's a quick reset or heading to bed early—give yourself permission. You're in for a treat with today's episode! Mother of 10, Abbie Halberstadt, is on the podcast to kick the cultural narrative of motherhood "not being "worth it because it's hard" to the curb and replacing it with lasting gospel hope. We talk about how to still show up when you're weary, seeing fruit in our children's faith (and ours) in the mundane rhythms of discipleship, and so much more. Get your copy of Abbie's book here! You don't want flowers. You want reassurance. If he can post a story, he can send a sentence that says “I care about you.”This episode is for every woman who feels crazy for needing words - because guess what? You're not clingy. You're not insecure. You're under-affirmed.We're unpacking why hearing “I love you,” “I'm proud of you,” or “I'm here” hits like emotional oxygen… and why silence feels like abandonment. If his silence makes you overthink,if you keep replaying one compliment for three weeks,if you've ever begged a man to just communicate —you're in the right place.Hit play and stop settling for men who “feel it” but can't say it.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
