Current leadership isn't just letting our military down, they're setting them up. Cutting benefits, firing veterans, changing allies….Our soldiers might be, as Commander Jones says, “trained to absorb a lot” but they shouldn't have to absorb this kind of disrespect. The American military are not there to make the president appear more manly, or be used as an enforcement brigade to deliver real estate deals or bring political enemies to heal, so what happens when the administration asks our soldiers to do something for him but against the constitution? You don't remove the kind of expertise from military leadership unless you have an agenda of which you know military leadership wouldn't approve. So where are we, and what comes next? Learn about strategies for evaluating issues, maintaining safety for team members, and fostering a mindset of 'us vs the problem'.
The left is screaming that President Donald Trump is on some kind of ideological crusade. Some recent headlines: “Trump and Musk's Purge Isn't Cost Cutting — It's a Coup”; “Doge is About Ideology and Mindless Budget Cutting”; “Elon Musk's Indiscriminate Carnage”; “Dems Must Stand Up Against the Bully in the White House.” It's sort of like labeling a company CEO ideological because he is driven to keep his company profitable and competitive. One column in The Guardian says Trump is “lacerating the structures of U.S. democracy.” In other words, protecting taxpayers and running the country efficiently is anti-democratic. But forgiving...Article Link

The conversation delves into the concepts of duty and honor, the downstream effects of the shift 50 years ago to all-volunteer military, and Trump's inability to understand the military and unfitness to serve as the country's leader. RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP!In 1 Peter 5:8, we find a verse that carries profound wisdom for leadership, whether in the church, the workplace, or any other sphere of life. It underscores the need for leaders to be vigilant and alert, especially in the face of challenges and adversities.
A Midwest migrants' rights group is calling on the government to show "responsible leadership" to ensure those seeking refuge in Ireland can feel safe and secure. Senior government sources have indicated there are "serious concerns" that international protection applicants will soon have to live in tents or sleep rough, with accommodation spaces likely to run out by the end of this week. As of the end of October, this county is hosting approximately 850 international protection applicants in Ennis, Tulla, Meelick, Inch, Lisdoonvarna and Scariff. Doras CEO John Lannon says it's vital the government stand up for victims of "hate and intolerance" so that non-nationals don't have to look over their shoulders.
Host Reed Galen is joined by Daniel Barkhuff, Former Navy SEAL and Founder of Veterans for Responsible Leadership to discuss the latest in the Middle East, why American leadership continues to be so crucial on the world stage, and why it would be so dangerous if our nation re-elected Donald Trump (or another authoritarian) in 2024. How is a manager and a leader? Join Alan Lindeman, bestselling author of Talent Impact, and Jodi to discuss being a strong leader, how parenting builds a leader and influence.Buy Talent Impact#SponsoredBookLinkConnect with Alan:LinkedInWebsiteAlan's Bio:I espouse that leadership is nothing more than influence - nothing more, nothing less. And don't we all influence someone, somewhere, somehow every day? YES, WE DO! That means that ALL of us are leaders. We are influencers of people. So the next thing we need to think about is how are we influencing people every day. Are we creating good ripples, bad ripples, or some of both? This is why I have become an author, to make more people aware of our responsibility as leaders, and as influencers of people. My short story is that I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. I have been married to my amazing wife for a lot of years and we're both blessed to have three wonderful children (one son and two daughters). Professionally I worked in the corporate world for thirty years working for a couple of big corporations and one family-owned business. The experiences were fantastic. I have experience in sales, sales management, operations, and general management. I have had P&L responsibility, I ran multiple offices spread out over five states and successfully helped develop a start-up division for my last employer. After leaving the corporate world in 2012, I have been in the business consulting/ training space. It has been such a pleasure working with clients across the country helping them to develop their people personally and professionally. I have a passion for leadership and people development. My passion has led me to develop a leadership model called Responsible Leadership (one of my upcoming books). We are using the Responsible Leadership Model to help companies improve their culture, develop their people, improve cooperation and collaboration, and achieve higher levels of financial success. It is such a blessing to be helping people wherever I can. Support the show

He challenges listeners to reevaluate their priorities and remember that as a leader, you're ultimately responsible for bringing your vision to life. It's a powerful wake-up call that asks you to choose meaningful leadership over mere busywork.

Today, I'm joined by the lovely Vasavi! Enjoy! "Once you clear away your sh*t and you know who the F you are, you can now pay that forward to another person. I want people to clear themselves out, courageously pursue their dream, be the dream, live the dream, then help somebody else. What's the point of all this work if you're not going back to help those people?" In today's episode, we talk about: Healing from harsh parenting How you talk to yourself matters It's about how you say it, not what you say The first 2 steps to take to really lead your life Why you should live your life out loud and what that means And so much more! When I think about the ultimate reinvention queen, going from the conventional to completely UNconventional, I think of today's guest, Vasavi Kumar. Vasavi has lived many lives. She grew up a first-generation Indian immigrant in a household with strict rules that expected her to follow a conservative life path like her parents (her mother was a cardiologist; her father an accountant). She tried it out for a while, going to an Ivy League school, getting married to a traditional and conventional Hindu man, and becoming a therapist—all the South Asian ‘good girl' checks. But ultimately, Vasavi was a brown sheep, and never did things just because. From a young age, she wouldn't take no for an answer, and was always asking the question—why? As she began asking herself why and questioning her own life—her marriage, her career, her likes and dislikes—everything changed. Following a divorce after 4 years of marriage, changing careers, a battle with drugs and alcohol, and refusing to be her family's scapegoat, Vasavi stepped into her power and became the impactful coach she is today (and a chef, and a stand-up comedian—she's seriously dabbled in it all!) As unique as her name, the cure for the common existence is Vasavi's inspiration. You are her mission. Let intrigue and passion meet you with a side dish of humor and intelligence in this powerful + juicy episode. She is one of my dearest girlfriends and I'm so glad that you get to experience her again! Dive in and enjoy! Peter Rahbar is a workplace legal expert and founder of the Rahbar Group. In response to the phrase Responsible Leadership, he states that leaders must understand that it is their responsibility to take care of those who choose to follow them. This can manifest in many different forms, such as listening to ideas, understanding their needs, and providing them with support. He goes on to explain that he has worked with many leaders over his career and that he has developed strong relationships with them. All of these relationships have solidified his understanding of responsible leadership and the importance of taking care of those who follow. Ultimately, Peter believes that responsible leadership is a responsibility that must be taken seriously. Responsible leadership requires building trust with those around you, whether they are employees, clients or customers. To be a responsible leader, you need to have qualities such as vision, integrity, courage, humility, compassion, and flexibility. Vision involves being able to articulate your ideas to those who work for you. Integrity involves making difficult decisions and having difficult conversations. Courage involves going into difficult situations. Humility involves understanding that you don't know everything, and building a team to help you understand those things. Compassion involves showing empathy and understanding for those who rely on you. Finally, flexibility is needed as world conditions can change without warning and you need to be prepared to modify your plans accordingly. The conversation between the two speakers centered around employment and workplace law and how to build trust and understanding with clients. Peter, a lawyer, has been practicing for over 20 years and was inspired to pursue a career in law after watching television shows as a child. He originally planned to become a sports lawyer and was accepted to Proskauer Law Firm, where he learned the importance of labor and employment law. After 12 years of leading Hearst's global employment strategy, he decided to switch sides and start his own firm, where he now focuses on working with executives and individuals. Dr. Suze Wilson, is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at Massey University. She is passionate about all things leadership along with an abiding interest in how we can make organisations both effective for external stakeholders and enjoyable places to work for employees. Her doctoral research examined why and how it has become normalized in recent decades to equate 'leadership' with grandiose expectations of 'transformation', 'vision', and 'charisma'. She argues these ideas, when examined closely, actually create undesirable pressures on leaders, grant them excessive powers, and rely on the problematic assumption that 'followers' are inherently inadequate. She is interested in theorising and practising leadership in ways that are more inclusive and humble.Dr. Brad Jackson joined Waikato Management School as Associate Dean Strategic Engagement in May 2020. The Responsible Leadership Podcast welcomes Bill Treasurer, the founder of Giant Leap Consulting, to the show. Bill is the author of the book Leadership Two Words at a Time - Simple Truth for Leading Complicated People, which offers actionable and relevant advice to today's emerging leaders. Bill and the host, Earl Breon, discuss the importance of developing responsible leadership skills such as taking care of those who choose to follow you and building successful relationships with people. They also discuss how to lead complicated people, how to gain their trust, how to build a strong team, and how to foster a culture of open communication. Bill emphasizes the value of understanding the complexities of people and their motivations, and encourages listeners to be patient and persistent in their efforts to become great leaders. Responsible Leadership involves four key elements. The first is to be committed to self improvement and exploring oneself. The second is to be willing to get uncomfortable in order to learn new things. Third, leaders must be willing to always do the right thing, even if it is difficult. Lastly, they should be committed to leaving people and organizations better off than when they found them. These elements are important for any aspiring, emerging, or experienced leader and will help them become successful in their roles. The speaker is a leadership development consultant and has been working with leaders for many years in many different countries. He recently did a three hour workshop with a group of twenty people, and the day before with a group of emerging leaders who have just been transferred from individual contributors to managing people. In response to the question of what got him interested in the field of leadership, he said that he has always been passionate about helping people and guiding them on their journey. He also mentioned that his work has taken him to many different countries, allowing him to work with thousands of leaders. He is thankful for the opportunity to do such meaningful work. Treasurer was leading a group of 8 people when he harshly criticized them for not meeting standards. One person stayed behind and told Treasurer that if he ever spoke to him like that again, he would leave. Treasurer was embarrassed and ashamed, and realized he didn't know how to lead. He started reading books on leadership, such as The One Minute Manager and Up the Organization, and went on to do a thesis on leadership in graduate school. He was able to improve his leadership skills and became a better person in the process. This year, he launched his book Leadership Two Words at a Time and it became a bestseller. He acknowledges the importance of the individual who stepped up and had the difficult conversation with him, which ultimately changed his life.
