This episode is a little bit different to the usual format. I'm catching you up on how my summer break has been and what worked well for me. From totally deleting Instagram to becoming 'a reader', to moving with joy and levity and dropping into love and abundance with food, through to not drinking alcohol (the love affair continues!), I was able to create the exact outcomes I had hoped for by getting intentional with my thinking and deliberate with my actions. I then move onto asking you why you're here listening to this podcast so that you can move out of passive listening and begin to take action towards the change you want. What do you want to achieve in the next few months? What change do you want to create by Christmas (for example)? What habits are feeling heavy and like a burden and why might you want to change them? How do you want to feel about food (like chocolate) or alcohol in a few months? Now is the time to set these goals and ask yourself why you're setting them. Don't set goals because you think you should. Set goals because you want to and you know that by working towards them, you'll be stepping closer towards the most authentic, energised and thriving version of yourself.I also talk about the idea of gentle change. Of reducing the force you might have been using to create change. I encourage you to consider what small changes you can make today that will inch you closer towards the peace and freedom you want to feel within yourself. And are you OK with SLOW change if it's REAL and LASTING change? I finish with my daily 'prayer' which I've been committing to throughout August and into September. I'm sharing it so that you can consider if you'd like to create one for yourself and see how it could impact your daily life. *I'm full for my 1:1 Eating & Drinking Habit Change coaching programme until January 2025. If you'd like to chat with me and reserve your spot for that intake, please follow this link to book a free discovery call. Find out more about how I work here: www.sallywebstercoaching.comAnd here's my The Sculpt Society referral code!

“Wellness practices can feel overwhelming. One thing I've learned is that I don't need an endless long list of things to actually make me feel good,” says celebrity fitness instructor Megan Roup, founder The Sculpt Society. “It's very simple: Romanticizing my life a bit more. Savoring that cup of coffee in the morning. Getting up a bit earlier. Taking 5 minutes for meditation or a walk outside. Just tapping into that playful nature is really important.” In this episode of Clean Beauty School, mindbodygreen beauty director and host Alexandra Engler chats with Roup about diet culture, creating a sustainable wellness routine, and her best beauty tips. You'll never see “before and after” photos on the The Sculpt Society's website or Instagram, and that's a very intentional choice by founder, Megan Roup. A dance-based subscription fitness app, Megan knew from the start that she wanted workouts to be simple, fun and effective, but also rooted in body positivity. Launched not long before the pandemic began, and quoted by Rebecca as “getting her through the worst of Covid,” Megan also uses her platform with the intention of helping people to feel less alone. She believes that even 10 minutes of fitness each day can help people feel better in body and mind, create connections and help to heal the inner critic. Thanks for listening! Megan Roup, founder of The Sculpt Society and beautiful new mama, sits down with Jordan to talk about the raw and relatable realities of motherhood, building a brand, and how she shows up for herself, her family, and her community every daily. Juggling multiple roles can be challenging. Megan gives the entire backstory on how she spent six and a half years creating The Sculpt Society concept and gaining the courage to leap to be a solo entrepreneur after years working as a professional dancer for the NBA and teaching classes in New York City. In 2019, she foresaw how digital fitness was on the rise and created what quickly became America's #1 fitness app! Now, six weeks into motherhood to a beautiful baby girl Gemini angel, Megan opens up about the challenges she experienced throughout pregnancy, from her changing body shape to the frustrations of breastfeeding and recovery from labor – which, let's face it, is probably the most brutal physical workout a woman could ever do! She's very transparent about the exhaustion and exhilaration of being a sleep-deprived mom who maintains a business alongside her husband. Plus, she shares her plans to start teaching here in LA and to find a new community of clients and moms to align with. Megan's journey and wise words to her younger self remind us to be gentle and kind to ourselves throughout the process: "Your timing will happen; it's all going to work out, and stop stressing because your timing looks a little bit different from everyone else's.” Thanks to http://interegrativenutrituion.com/soulonfire (The Institute of Investigative Nutrition) for sponsoring this episode! When Jordan took this 6-12 month certification with the world's most renowned nutrition school, it ignited her career and has been inspiring her food and nutrition journey ever since. Are we putting too much pressure on our kids and their athletics? With the breaking news last week of Simone Biles withdrawing from the most of the gymnastics events at the Olympics I talk about how much more we know now. Growing up I was in gymnastics. I remember a banner hanging in the gym that said " If You Rest, You Rust". That has stuck with me all these years later. If you want to follow along with a writing exercise grab some paper and a pen. I talk about the Wheel of Life used to discover which areas in your life you are missing and how to infuse joy and satisfaction into your life. Also in this episode: How to start goals and action steps. How to create habits and motivation. Enforcing my boundaries and asking for more help. I am running the 24 in 24. That is running one mile on the hour for 24 hours. I am running for team Mela. Please see below for the link to donate. My favorite apps: Melissa Wood Health, Sculpt Society. My podcast listeners are my first to know of a special new program launching soon! Listen to episode to be the first to know. In today's episode, Aleen and Brittany are joined by Megan Roup, Founder of Sculpt Society to talk about fitness, body image, and looking after yourself both physically and mentally during pregnancy. They start off with a conversation about Megan's struggles during her pregnancy and why we should normalize conversations around not enjoying pregnancy. Next, they talk about dealing with body changes during pregnancy and how to overcome negative self talk. Then, Megan shares one of her favorite prenatal and postal exercises in her TSS Mama program called 360 breathing and demonstrates how to practice the 360 breath. Lastly, they talk about how to modify your exercise routine for a healthy and safe pregnancy.
Hello Knotty Ladies! If you're anything like me then you probably started singing right along with this title. Although I am not a big fan of the movies that made this song popular, I do however love to watch my boys dancing to it...so friggin cute!I digress. So, a new episode and this one is about my journey through many, many different types of fitness modalities and how they started out as healthy ways to move my body then turned into wicked tools to turn good habits into unhealthy ways to try and control myself and my life. From counting calories, to competing tirelessly with myself and others to being ruled by the scale, I have fell victim to it all. In the end, I have realized that it's important to remember that:Workouts are not one size fits all for everyone.Don't frickin' run on the treadmill if you hate it just because so and so, whether a person, brand, Instagram influencer or otherwise, tells you it's the best way to get abs, burn calories etc.Try it all out and see what you love and...Do. That. Thing!! Even my kids know that 5 is more than 0 so if you only have five minutes, then do the dang thing rather than poo pooing it because it's not your usually half hour, hour etc.Know that workouts ebb and flow with our lives and it's okay to change it up, slow down, take a break and most of all...listen to your body...XO!Below are links to the two workout programs I am currently doing. If you want a free two week trial at Obe, let me know and I'll hook you up! I believe The Sculpt Society is doing a free 14 day trial on their site right now woot woot!https://obefitness.comhttps://thesculptsociety.comThis episode is a much longer one than all the rest but it really has some great tidbits in it that couldn't be crunched into the usual 20 minutes. So bear with me, I think you'll like it. I get pretty pumped about this subject! P.S. It pairs well with Episode 8 on Birthdays & Body Image but you don't have to listen to that one to get the gist of this one. But really, you should listen to it as well...shameless plug:)Please listen, review and share! Thank you so much! EnJOY!**I don't know if I need to post a shoutout for the quote I use at the end of the podcast but here it goes just in case: "When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." -Franklin D. Roosevelt
