This is a year unlike any other, With everything shifting around. Like the eye of a storm I can stay still, And observe as it all goes down.☉Ha, let's see if you can! You may be tempted to tell somebody to go jump in the lake (or river in this case), but that may be better advice for yourself! Venus and Mercury, both in the masculine sign of Aries, are square by sign to Mars in the feminine sign of Cancer. The two Sabian symbols for the upcoming first quarter square Moon in Gemini are totally relevant, aren't they? While Mercury conjunct Venus is interpreted as pleasant conversations, Mars in Cancer with the Sun coming up to Saturn may turn some of these conversations upside down. The main point, I believe, is that this is all OK, totally par for the course. The fact is that we are coming to the end of our rope, so to speak, individually and collectively, and a lot of consequences are coming up, as well as the need for some very important decisions. This creates pressure. However, as the stars are telling us, it's not over yet, there is more digging to do, more feeling, more realization needed to make these big moves/changes. We've got five more weeks (at least) to swirl around in the waters of our emotional past to process and fully take our deepest needs into account before jumping to premature conclusions/actions.So, this is a time to scream, yell, shout, and let it out like the woman activist in the first Sabian symbol, but let's not stop there. Like a painter throwing colors onto a canvas, we can observe ourselves, once externalized, like the youth changing into a mature thinker (the second Sabian symbol). Once our fiery Aries desires are felt, brought out into the open, put on the table, and looked at, not only will we be relieved, but we may very well find solutions that would never have occurred to us had we not.Through all these stormy emotional days, let's remember where to find joy, excitement, and fun! Jupiter in Gemini curiously wants to learn, talk, write, journal, travel, and GET OUT AND ABOUT. Retrograde Venus wants to rebel against the conventional, old, "standard" forms of relationship and mix it up. Maybe everything is designed to kick us out of our old, well worn ruts (as comfortable and secure as they may be) into new, better expressions of ourselves. Let's experiment! Feel like you are "Spinning Wheels?" https://youtu.be/kK62tfoCmuQ?si=BrWm-e2ec1iS0tz1So Much Love,Kaypacha
If you're from the greater Philadelphia / Northern Delaware / Tri State Region, you will LURVE the new episode of Hoagie Mouth! The new QUAD / QUINT CREW of Chris S, Ned, Mike L, Bob and Jeff get right in to all things Philadelphia sports....starting with more and more Eagles content. The victory lap doesn't end, because we have Saquon extension GALORE happening. And we know Professor Roseman is still on the case, even if that means we say goodbye to Bradberry and Slay (*sniff*). It's a wild offseason ride that's just getting started. We spend a bit of time on the Flyers, and dissect where they stand at the trade deadline. Yet again we wonder if Risto and Lauts will be here next week...tune in for our prediction on that matter. The Sixers (RIP) and the Phils (too early to ANALYZE) will get back into the rotation, we swear! Until then, email us with segment ideas. Maybe Jeff will shout you out on the air if we use one!Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod
02-17-2025 "Spinning Wheels" Ride a Fading Rate Trend-------------------------What goes up must come down. Spinnin' wheel Bonds go around. An axiom is not always a truism. Yet, last week, rates rose and fell symmetrically for good reasons. CPI came in hot, and Crude Oil turned cold.Long-term inflation drives long-term rates, and Oil remained bearish fundamentally and technically. 2 to 30-year Treasury yields contain bulls and bears, but do not be surprised to see the 10-year fall to 4.20 as Oil falls below $70 a barrel.Ride a fading rate trend. Haize goes into the Bulls' roster construction, trade deadline possibilities, and the challenges of retaining key players like Coby White. With the play-in tournament offering false hope, the Bulls' front office faces criticism for their lack of vision and execution. Can Matas Buzelis or other young talents provide a much-needed spark? The Spinning Wheels relay team is a cycling organization that is raising awareness for Parkinson's disease by cycling across Canada. Over the weekend they started their journey on Newfoundland's west coast. CBC's Amy Feehan met up with them in Howley and spoke with cyclists Lloyd Taylor and Li Jiang for more.
Toronto was already one of the most congested cities in the world, But the simultaneous construction projects now underway have made it unbearable. It takes hours more to commute on the Gardiner. Travel time has tripled along Spadina and it can take 40 minutes to drive a few blocks on the only road now open in and out of Liberty Village. It may also be shortening our lives. I talked with Jeffrey Brook, Associate Professor at the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health. And Libby speaks with cyclist Lloyd Taylor about his journey with Parkinson's disease, how exercise has been helping to alleviate symptoms he deals with and how he is raising awareness about the benefits of movement and exercise through the Spinning Wheels cross-Canada relay.
Peter, Perry and Alyssa of Spinning wheels wine rejoin John to talk about the wine Overton window, the collapse of consensus, air out sulfur disagreements, and discuss conspiracy theories. This week, the panel begins by dissecting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, a zany piece of intellectual property that's been taken off the shelf by Jeff Rowe, Seth Rogan, and a slew of animators and turned into a critical darling. Then, the trio reviews The Retrievals, a five-part narrative podcast hosted by Susan Burton for The New York Times and Serial Productions that chronicles the systematic ways American healthcare continually denies, discounts, and ignores women's pain through a series of events that unfolded at the Yale Fertility Clinic. Finally, they are joined by Wesley Morris, critic at large at The New York Times, to discuss his tour de force essay, “How Hip-Hop Conquered the World,” and how the history of the radical art form is as porous and complex as the nation itself. In the exclusive Slate Plus segment, the panel commemorates hip-hop's 50th anniversary with a lightning round of personal accounts about their first encounters with the form. Email us at culturefest@slate.com. Endorsements: Dana: Since their conversation about Sinéad O'Connor a few weeks ago, Dana has dived even deeper into the late Irish singer/songwriter's oeuvre. One gem she found was The Year of the Horse, a concert documentary recorded live in 1990 at Forest National, Brussels. It's a fantastic snapshot of a live performance at a very specific time in O'Connor's life. Julia: Taylor Swift fans! Julia recently attended Swift's concert in Los Angeles and was struck by the overall kind, positive, and good vibes of the crowd. Fans of all ages and body types exchanged bracelets with one another, trading “Hi Barbie!” greetings, which made the concert-going experience feel even more special. Stephen: It may be difficult to convince a teenage girl in 2023 to listen to Tom Waits' catalog, but Stephen has done exactly that: he created a playlist for his daughter called “Broken Bicycles,” which highlights Waits' extraordinary ability to write a pop melody. Outro music: “Spinning Wheels” by Dusty Decks. Podcast production by Cameron Drews. Production assistance by Kat Hong. This episode is sponsored by the podcast About the Journey. Beth and Andrew speak with educator, political scientist, and author, Rick Hess, who shares his views on whether we can reform our country's failing K-12 education system. We discuss the appalling results of our public schools in teaching kids reading, math, history and civics, and how they have declined even more since the covid pandemic. Hess talks about how progressive ideology has taken over the education establishment including graduate schools of education and shares his opinions on what we can do to potentially reform the education system and why he is newly optimistic given the rise of the parent's movement in the post-covid years as a force for change.Frederick M. Hess is a senior fellow and the director of Education Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he works on K–12 and higher education issues. July of 1965 is jam-packed with great Australian Music. Ray Brown & The Whispers score the highest chart position, closely followed by The Seekers. And, another bag of chart debutants; Peter Doyle, The Spinning Wheels, Buddy England, Billy Adams, The Kravats and, The Kini Quartet. Regulars, Ray Columbus & The Invaders, The Playboys, The Henchmen and Digger Revell also contribute. Enjoy the Music!
In this episode we feature April releases only, such was the Australian artist output, although there were only two that reached the Top 10 nationally. We'll hear the first release from The Changing Times; the name itself an apt description for the month. There's a noticeable shift to ‘tuff' R&B, aligning with The Rolling Stones ascendancy; The Spinning Wheels with Got My Mojo Working, Ray Hoff & The Offbeats with Little Queenie & the afore-mentioned Changing Times with Mary Lou. Jay Justin and Little Pattie continue to chart whilst we hear debut 45s from The Henchmen, Peter Doyle and, The Easybeats. Ray Brown & The Whispers' Pride reaches the highest chart mark at 3. Enjoy the changin' times!

John Cleland comes from an era when racing drivers were racing drivers, and touring cars were touring cars. That's what you'd hear if you asked a nineties super touring fan about the BTCC. Behind the on-track rivalries and the glamorous budgets, however were a group of superstar drivers who could barely have imagined the international stardom they'd enjoy, when they climbed behind the wheel of the racing versions of a selection of humble 'rep-mobiles'. Every super touring driver will tell you that the bubble had to burst at some point, shortly before they tell you it was one heck of a ride! In this episode of the Spinning Wheels podcast Guy and Paul go behind the visor of one of the world's best loved racing drivers who, you'll be pleased to know is every bit the character he was in the spotlight of his career.
When you think of iconic Touring car races, Steve Soper is never far from the conversation. A fan's favourite on-and-off the race track, 'Soperman' is a racing driver who has always worn his heart on his sleeve , and he wears it once more for the 25th episode of Spinning Wheels. To say Steve's career has been a roller coaster would be putting it mildly, so strap in tightly and join Guy and Paul for an eye - opening motorsport adventure.
British drivers have always proved popular in American race series, but few have covered themselves in glory stateside as much as Oliver Gavin, Corvette Racing's most successful driver. But a record stint - including five Le Mans victories and five ALMS titles - is only part of the adventure, which includes F1 politics and a mid nineties DTM drive. Join Guy and Paul for a second series of Spinning Wheels podcast with a story or two to tell!

Matthew Wilson grew up in one of rallying's most famous families. A racing career beckoned, team mate to Lewis Hamilton in Formula Renault, but when your first driving lesson was with Ari Vatanen in a MK2, your career is only headed in one direction - gravel. The youngest ever winner of a British Rally Championship round. and of a WRC stage, Matthew competed on one of the most competitive eras of the World Championship. Find out how, as he hung up his full time rally gloves, a chance return to racing led to Wilson Jnr running one of the most successful GT racing debuts with Bentley, and go behind the scenes with some of the worlds biggest rallying names in episode 22 of Spinning Wheels.
Mike Nicholsons career has been spent at the top flight of British motorsport. He starred as a co driver during the halcyon days of the British Open Rally Championship alongside legendary names such as Tony Pond and Russell Brookes, and taking the title with in 1984 with Jimmy McRae. A career-long association with Vauxhall then saw the Derbyshire man take the helm of the Griffin's race programme, fielding drivers such as John Cleland, James Thompson and Jason Platoin the British Touring Car Championship during the revered Super Touring heyday. Guy and Paul go behind the pace notes and the deals to discover the story of one of the sport's great characters in the latest episode of Spinning Wheels.

Monday (07/13/2020) my guest will be the very talented and genrous Heavenly Bresser. Heavenly Bresser is a self-taught, well-rounded fiber artist from Chicago. She has over 10 years of experience with crochet and knitting, but also loves dyeing fibers, hand spinning, weaving and repairing spinning wheels. Working from fleece to project is one of her favorite things to do. Her passion for fiber arts and the joy of seeing others grow in their craft is part of her motivation as an instructor. Heavenly's goal is to uplift, inspire and encourage those around her and challenge them to think outside the box and to do things they'd never imagine could be done. Outside of her fiber adventures, her time is spent caring for her husband, two young boys, and Morkie named Samson. As most of you know, Heavenly has been on the show once before—but we really didn't get a chance to talk about many of the things she's doing in the fiber world. I'm so pleases she can join us again. Please tune in to hear from this gracious and talented artist.

Episode #62 My Favorite Gluten-Free Travel Snacks Thank you to @betsyinthesip on Instagram for this episode’s Q&A question! If you have a Q&A question, message me on Instagram @travelglutenfreepodcast or contact me through my contact form at Travel Gluten Free Podcast and I’ll create an episode based on your question! My Favorite Gluten-Free Travel Snacks Chips and Crackers I love to eat chips and crackers. I’ll be the first to admit this without shame! My favorite flavor of chips is sea salt and vinegar, hands down! Here are a few of the chips and crackers I mention in this episode. Kapop Snacks are tasty, crunchy and packed full of nutrition! Using ancient grains, these goodies are wholesome and tasty as well! Check out my interview with Dustin Finkle, where we talk about how he came up with KaPop! Snacks in episode 56. Mosaics are another snack I really like. Similar to KaPop! Instead of using ancient grains, they have a base of organic yellow and green peas for their chips. Look for the green spotted triangles at a store near you and listen to episode 54 to find out my favorite Spinning Wheels brand snack! Jai Mix, the “compellingly tasty” snack mix, which puts your favorite Indian and Thai flavors into one bag! My favorite? The spicy coconut! Delicious, savory and spicy all wrapped into one, go to this website to order a case of Jai Mix, because, trust me, you won’t be able to stop at just one bag! One of the newest snacks I’ve found which I love to travel with are LesserEvil Organic Paleo Puffs Gluten Free Himalayan Salt 'N Apple Cider Vinegar. They are like corn puffs, minus the corn, with more nutrition and taste amazing! Favorite brands of crackers include Milton's Crackers, Simple Mills, Lance Gluten-Free and any cracker, cookie, cake from Schar. They even have a recipe page online, and a travel locator where you can find many tasty treats to create gluten-free! Another one of my favorite brands is Kinnikinnick. They have amazing vanilla wafers and gluten-free graham crackers, among other mouth-watering treats. Protein Bars and Shakes I commonly carry protein bars and shakes with me, whether I’m working on-the-go or I’m traveling, these are an easy way to get clean and nutritious snack any time of the day or night! I chat about my favorite bars and shakes in this episode, tune in to find out what my favorite brands and types of protein keep me fueled during the week! It was an off chance that MAEKAN connected with fashion designer and DJ turned ceramicist Sloane Angell. It’s funny how things manage to work themselves out. At the time, MAEKAN had just moved into a new office and the lingering odor from a fresh coat of paint had various people ritualistically (or desperately?) reaching for a stick of incense every day. Generally speaking, acquiring the incense is easy and effortless. It’s readily available in most “lifestyle shops,” and can range from branded and pretentious, to downright cheap and accessible. What doesn’t really factor in until after the fact is the holder. I am talking again about the new Majacraft Aura wheel and my learning process as I've spun on it. Although you may not have this specific wheel, you can listen and apply some of my ideas to any wheel that you would like to expand in your spinning skills. The second section discusses my crazy idea of putting beads in the yarn before I knit, and how I finally got that idea to work. The photo here shows that yarn on the bobbin of the Aura. The music today is a bit different than normal as I recently discovered there are some techno tunes I really enjoy. So I've included a techno interlude called Hestor is Amused by Johnjack. If techno is really not your thing, the interludes are short and I give you a chance to turn the podcast off before the end song. But I really urge you to listen, as I do like the song, Pas De Deux by Lee Negin. All of today's music is from Music Alley with my extra thank you to Clare Dowling for my use of her Spinning Wheels as the podcasts intro music. Until later, happy spinning!
