On this Municibid Monday, Greg, Jameel, and Jackie discuss one of the most unique surplus items to hit the marketplace recently: an inflatable firefighter training house. Designed to help firefighters practice navigating unfamiliar environments, the training structure sparked plenty of conversation, including whether it might double as a bouncy house. This episode features active auctions worth watching, including a 2025 Diamond cargo trailer, more than 1,500 Chromebooks, a 1987 military Unimog equipped with a loader and backhoe, vacant land in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, multiple dump trucks from Mine Hill Township, and a collection of musical instruments highlighted by Jameel's Pick of the Week.Jameel is attending the Rhode Island Public Works Association Conference this week. It's a great show that we've been joining for many years. We hope to see you there at Crown Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island.Rounding out the episode: we looked back at Greg's auction prediction for a 2014 Kubota excavator. Greg guessed $4,800, but the auction closed at $16,100. Listen to hear the team's reaction and discussion about how unpredictable auction markets can be.Key Takeaways:We welcomed 11 new government sellers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and New Hampshire. The team highlighted recent improvements to the Municibid Chrome Extension and support resources.First-time seller listings included dump trucks, Cat5 cables, and an inflatable firefighter training house.Active auction highlights included a Diamond cargo trailer, 1,500+ Chromebooks, a military Unimog, and vacant land in Pennsylvania.Jameel's Pick of the Week was a sousaphone and drums.Greg's prediction for a Kubota excavator fell well short of the final sale price, demonstrating the power of competitive bidding.Additional Resources:Explore government surplus auctions at Municibid: https://municibid.comGot feedback or want to be a guest? Harrison Schoen (@harrisonschoen) made his name living in a Porsche Cayenne and sharing raw, honest stories from the road. But it was a moment on national television—walking away from a $1,000,000 prize on MrBeast's Beast Games—that cemented his ethos: some experiences are worth more than money. In this episode, we explore Harrison's background, why he chooses the harder path, and how storytelling, travel, and self-reliance shape his approach to life. We also discuss his latest project—a Unimog build for a Pan-American journey—and what it means to stay rooted in travel, not trends.
Kijk daarvoor hier!
This week on the RIPEcast, Space Cowboys welcome back Smoove to the Bay Area. Aloha Funkateers Back in Y2K era San Francisco, there was a trend amongst the uber cool restaurants where - as part of the dining room ambience - you would often find a DJ mixing live during dinner service. It was here, spinning vinyl all night propped up at the end of the bar, in this bastion of late 20th century California fusion cuisine I found my entrance into the fantastical wonderland that is the Bay Area DJ community. And it was here where I first encountered the Space Cowboys. The subsequent years featured a significant increase of the color orange into my wardrobe, Halloween undergrounds, a Unimog, breakbeats (so. Many. Breakz!) renegades in Golden Gate Park, that thing in the desert, decompression/recompression, Love parades, rhinestones, Martha, NewsBreakz, heartbreakz. And yes, a New Year's Day sunrise party. It was a glorious time to be alive So I think it's fitting my first time back at BOC in *this many* years was the 25th anniversary. I was hella psyched to be on this years line up because, if I'm being perfectly honest, I have missed you all. Spinning this set was a true joy and it was an honor to be back with the original crew. -Smoove

1. AMO F-15. El Fiat ruso. 2. GAZ AA. El Ford ruso. 3. 3HC: “3 Hermanos Comunistas”. 4. GAZ-51: El referente. 5. ZIS-150. Inspiración USA. 6. ZIL-130: “Best Seller”. 7. KrAZ-255. Muy moderno. 8. GAZ-66: Unimog a la “rusa”. 9. KAMAZ-5320: El primero de una estirpe. 10. Ural-4320: Ayudando a los norteamericanos. 11. BelAZ-75710: ¡Un gigante! 12. KamAZ-6560. 12+1. Tornado-U: Protagonista en la guerra. 14. KAMAZ-54901: ¿No te recuerda a Mercedes? 15. KAMAZ-4326-9 VK: El rey del desierto. Conclusión. Sencilla.

Good morning guests, Welcome to The Jurassic World Minute where we Visit Jurassic World one minute at a time. In this week's episode, David is on hand to dispense more marriage guidance tips, James reminisces about an Amazon (not the distribution company nor the archaic Volvo), and Charlie Watts is remembered. An attempted amphibious vehicle challenge hits a snag, so the lads decide to seek out Unimogs instead; the Vauxhall Cavalier appears before the Banger or Classic jury; pop songs in motoring commercials are (over) analysed, James waxes lyrical about the Suzuki Jimny, and David somehow refrains from dropping a broken piano on an MX5...
In this week's episode of Bangers & Classics, James spots a Unimog that may or may not belong to Arthur 'Two Sheds' Jackson, David wonders if there's a link between Nick Straker and UFO, and tribute is paid to Graham Robson. The Volvo 480 ES faces its moment of truth in front of the Banger or Classic jury – will it be on the receiving end of a clogging or will its pop-up lights come to the rescue? The Lada Niva is compared to the Range Rover, its erstwhile rival in (cold) war and peace, and remakes are discussed: will the lads come around to the manufacturers' way of thinking or is it the case that even Crayford Engineering couldn't convert them...
De Christian Schmit war op d‘Sich no ganz alen Exemplairen.

Episode 1 gives you a look into our tastes and opinions on fun and classic vehicles. Instead of the boring old, "what's your favourite car," or "what's the fastest/most expensive _______," we have picked some categories that are a bit different! The categories are:a utilitarian vehicle;an affordable classic; and old skool performance. You get to choose a car, a bike or a truck to satisfy the three choices. However, once you've used up one choice for one category you cannot reuse it for another category! Our choices may be a bit odd, but welcome to The Clutch Basket Podcast!

If you see a plume of black smoke rising from the crossfader then you know Smoove (a.k.a. Ian Chang) just got off the decks. That was the case again last Saturday night at “Shackled”, a rockin' up-and-coming monthly at Shine Dance Lounge (http://www.shinesf.com), where Smoove provided the perfect climax to a fantastic party with one of his signature breakbeat sets. And guess who just so happened to be there to record it for your listening enjoyment? If you've spent any length of time in the San Francisco dance scene, Smoove needs no introduction. He's been igniting packed dance floors (and wearing out crossfaders) with infectious booty-shakin' beats for almost ten years now. But if you aren't from around these parts (or don't get out that often) here's a little more background on this week's talented guest DJ..... Rising out of the 90's Drum 'n Bass scene in San Francisco, Smoove quickly became a fixture on the underground Breakz circuit in 2001 DJ'ing with The Space Cowboys and their mighty Unimog. These days his signature power-funk Breakz sound can be heard every weekend all over San Francisco's night life, from underground warehouse parties to his residencies at The End Up, 1015 and Mighty. All his hard work in the night club trenches has earned him membership in nitevibe.com's DJ Dream Team since 2004 and was voted Best DJ 2008 by the readers of the S.F. Bay Guardian in their annual "Best of the Bay" issue. Taking his sound to the airwaves, Smoove has been featured on XM Satellite Radio's Thump Funk show (XM 80) as well as Below Zero on Energy 92.7 and was a frequent guest on Future Breaks on KUSF. Currently, he can be heard on Fog City Funk every Wednesday night at 8pm PST on Nu Skool Breaks Radio (nsbradio.co.uk) In 2004 he, along with Donna Matrix, started publishing the underground magazine NewsBreakz and more recently launched NBz 2.0 (newsbreakz.com) the on-line version in late 2008. Simply put, Smoove is one of the quintessential taste makers in the San Francisco Breakz scene today and can always be relied on to bring a big party fun sound that makes the crowd go giddy on the dance floor. Smoove's mix is also available on The Gough Street Sessions podcast: http://bit.ly/goughstreet-iTunes
