Iestudējums veidots iedvesmojoties no notikumiem Jēkabpilī 2011.gadā, kad četri policisti un viena civilpersona veica laupīšanu spēļu zālē. Izrāde ir režisora Valtera Sīļa un dramaturga Jāņa Baloža ilgi briedis kopdarbs, kas īstenota mūzikas teātra žanrā, piesaistot komponistu Edgaru Raginski. Ar sitaminstrumentālista Ernesta Mediņa uzdoto ritmu iesākas mūzikas teātra izrāde, kura atgādina neseno pagātni, laiku pirms 12 gadiem, kas sakrita ar krīzes zemāko brīdi, un atgādina par „trekno gadu” vērtībām, arī par kredītos balstītu dzīvesveidu. Libreta pamatā ir patiess notikums, kas risinājās Jēkabpilī 2011.gada janvāri, tolaik ziņu kanāli vēstīja „Jēkabpilī noticis bruņots laupīšanas uzbrukums spēļu zālei. Aizturot iespējamos uzbrucējus, gājis bojā viens policists, vēl vairāki cilvēki ievainoti”. Izrādes veidotāji pārvērtējuši notikumus dramatiski muzikālā formā. Libreta autors Jānis Balodis atklāj, cik sena ir vēsture un kā kopā ar režisoru Valteru Sīli briedusi doma par notikumu pārtapšanu izrādē. Izrāde skatītājus ved pa Jēkabpils ielām līdz spēļu zālei, kur notiek uzbrukums. Taču pirms tam esam liecinieki nozieguma plānošanai, ko veic četri policisti, divi no uzbrucējiem specvienības „Alfa” darbinieki un viena civilpersona. Izrādē piedalās Aleksandrs Bricis, Artis Drozdovs, Mārtiņš Gūtmanis, Armands Siliņš un Emīls Kivlenieks. "Dirty Deal Teatro" mūzikas teātra izrādi „Alfas” atkal rādīs 26. un 27.novembrī, pēc tam 3. un 4.decembrī.

(Part 3) Jeremy Porter, from Seneca Falls, NY, is a senior studying automotive restoration technology at McPherson College in Kansas. First bitten by the car bug at the age of five after attending the Vintage Festival at Watkins Glen, he is fascinated by the mechanical aspects of vehicles and other machinery. He was a part of the team that restored the school's 1953 Mercedes Benz 300S Cabriolet that finished second in class at Pebble Beach. His interests include vintage Ferraris, pre-war Bugattis and Alfas, open-wheel race cars, and the development of technologies within the drivetrain. As a student of the Automotive Restoration program at McPherson College, a four-year degree that centers the skills needed for the preservation and/or restoration of the vehicle itself and its associated history, a younger generation is given the chance to take the torch. Hands-on skills such as engine rebuilding and general mechanical work are supplemented by a dive into proper research methods, archival building/handling, general history of automobiles and their artistic and technological designs, along with literature courses that help create a unique liberal arts education. Using an example of a current project involving the digitization and creation of an archive of original Duesenberg road car, racing car, and marine engine blueprints that are housed within the school's library, this presentation will show how the curriculum at McPherson College culminates in a comprehensive educational experience. Alfa Romeo might be best known for its Formula 1 presence, or its sporty convertibles that help stop weddings in major motion pictures. Unfortunately, the two-seat cabriolet isn't exactly helping major automakers keep their lights on. Steering into the meat of the market, the folks at Alfa Romeo launched a sub-compact crossover dubbed Tonale. The Tonale might not be as exciting as its larger Stelvio sibling, or the long list of sporty Alfas of yesteryear, but it does help spread the brand's awareness and give shoppers something different in a sea of crossovers. Powering the Tonale is exclusively a plug-in hybrid powertrain that blends a 1.3-liter I4 with a hybrid system to send 285 hp to the wheels. On this episode of Quick Spin, Autoweek's Patrick Carone hops behind the wheel of the 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale and puts it through its paces. ALFA ROMEO GIULIA IS GOING ELECTRIC - In an interview with Auto Express, Alfa Romeo's CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato revealed a bunch of details about the future of the company and electric vehicles. But the most interesting is that, despite the world's insatiable appetite for SUVs, the Giulia sport sedan will get another generation, and one that's entirely electric. - the car will be built on the STLA Large platform, one of several EV architectures Stellantis announced back July. - the Large platform is said to accept 101-kWh to 118-kWh of battery capacity and up to 500 miles of range. It may also be sharing the platform and development with the future Stelvio, like the current one does with the Giorgio platform. - Stellantis aims to have its 500-mile STLA Large platform cars, among the others, ready for 2024. Odds seem good that the electric Alfas will start showing up at that time, since the brand is planning to be fully electric in 2027. That will make it the first Stellantis brand to be entirely electric. President Biden now only has to sign it into law, effectively freeing $15bn in funding for electric transportation, after he had to make concessions. - Specifically, the trillion-dollar package includes $7.5 billion for expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure nationwide and $7.5 billion for electric buses. However, Biden had to make concessions. For example, for the national network with 500,000 EV charging stations, the compromise has been reached leaves $7.5Bn of the $15Bn Biden had initially envisioned. - For the purchase of electric school and public transport buses, the bipartisan draft now also provides $7.5Bn, instead of the previously wanted $45Bn. The second bill contains more of the Build Back Better plan and Biden's EV vision, including an renewal of the EV tax credit—currently containing a controversial provision boosting union-built EVs—and other money potentially going toward equity, manufacturing, the supply chain, other incentives, and building out charging infrastructure. - That bill faces challenges, although it's worth noting that the EV tax credit itself, prior to the union riders, had bipartisan support. The EV was meant to debut back in 2020, but LA Auto Show organizers canceled the event. A redo of the show meant for May 2021 didn't happen either. Now, the show will go on this month, with the Ocean ready for the spotlight. - As for power, it should come from an 80-kilowatt-hour battery, which Fisker said this week will be supplied by China's CATL. The company will make five gigawatt-hours of production available for the Ocean to churn out battery packs. Magna Steyr will handle final production of the Ocean in Austria, unless something changes. A study of 2,000 UK drivers by Volkswagen Financial Services found 35 percent of those questioned said they would be more likely to go electric thanks to the fuel shortage. - Volkswagen Financial Services survey shows the impact of the shortage on buyers' intentions, with more than a third saying they are more likely to go electric when they come to change their car. Similarly, 32 percent of Brits say they are likely to buy a second-hand electric vehicle when the time comes to change their car. A study done by online lender Lending Tree showed that Tesla buyers are willing to take on a loan of five and a half years to be able to drive one of the EVs. - To get the data, Lending Tree looked at 29,000 auto loans from October 2018 to October 2021. Loans from 30 auto brands spanning everything from Tesla to Ram to Audi were examined. Tesla came out at number one with its buyers averaging 67.1 months on their loan terms. Ram was right behind at 66.3 months. So gas station and travel center operators are strategizing how to cash in on the opportunities that come with drivers plugging in instead of filling up. - They earn more from the food and necessities available at their convenience stores. - Needing to install EV charging throughout these stops across the country is only one part of the equation. Evaluating shifts in consumer behavior that could change these stores' provisions is another. Depending on the type of charging infrastructure — fast charger versus the slower-charging Level 2 plug — it will likely take more time to charge an EV than it takes to fuel up a gas-powered car. By the next year he took over the company and since then he has sold over 9,000 collector vehicles including classics, vintage race cars, and pretty much everything else. Back in the day, Bruce raced Formula Vee, Formula C, and Formula B. He continued racing with SCCA and has run in vintage races, all over the world, for over four decades. He has driven in rallies and tours in everything from Jaguar D-Types to Ferraris, Alfas, Monzas, and Porsche Can-Am cars. Howard Swig is a Bay Area native and lifelong car enthusiast. Like his brother David, who has appeared here at Cars Yeah, what started out as a hobby and automotive passion turned into a career. He worked in the Technical Department at Car and Driver magazine and then went on to work in the car retail business at buying/leasing broker Cartelligent. More recently Howard shifted his focus to vintage cars at the enthusiast website and marketplace Bring a Trailer where he was brought on to launch Bring a Trailer Auctions, which is turning out to be one of the best online venues for buying and selling mostly vintage cars. Howard is an active racer, competing in the Spec Miata series with NASA and SCCA at tracks around California. He is a supporter of the vintage racing community, campaigning the likes of prewar Chryslers, postwar Fiats, Alfas and even a Mercury Comet in events around California.
Pete Vack is a writer, a book author, an editor, and a publisher who has had hundreds of articles published in magazines such as Road & Track, Automobile Quarterly, AutoWeek, Vintage Motorsport, and Sports Cars International. He is the author of two best-selling books and has owned a long list of classic cars. Pete has raced vintage Alfas, he worked for Ferrari of Washington as a mechanic. He co-established the first print on demand automobile publishing house, and fourteen years ago, established the Italian and French online magazine VeloceToday.com. And all this in his spare time while working as a network engineer for AT&T and Tellabs and raising his family.
Max Banks joined Alfaholics in July 2004 after graduating from the law department at Bristol University. He is the director of Sales & Product Development when he’s not on the track racing Alfas. He’s also responsible for the preparation and on going development of the Alfaholics 2.0 Sprint GT race car and he’s in charge of building the Alfaholics FIA 1600 GT race car. Max is joined by his brother Andrew and his father Richard who started his passion for 105 series Alfas in 1975. Together they provide parts, advice, and service to Alfaholics around the world. They also buy, sell, build, restore, and maintain Alfa Romeos for their own collection and their client’s enjoyment.

The science of aerodynamics is understood by few, but has a huge impact on our competitive enjoyment of cars. We all know that air affects our cars somehow, but we're rarely aware of the magnitude or ultimate impact of those forces. Steve Stafford is, though. Steve is an Aero engineer and longtime friend of GRM who currently works in Toyota's NASCAR program. He's spent time in wind tunnels tuning everything from classic Alfas to F1 cars in his career, though, and our chat reveals a surprising level of aero tweaking that the average racer or enthusiast can take advantage of. Comenzaremos por hablar sobre el flamante nuevo disco de una de las 'superbandas' más queridas por el público progresivo: Transatlantic. Desmenuzaremos el disco en nuestro habitual debate en grupo del equipo, y os contaremos lo que fue su reciente actuación en Madrid, concierto que abría la etapa europea de su 'World Tour 2014'. También estuvimos en el espectáculo 'Rock Meets Opera' celebrado en Alfas del Pí, con el grupo italiano de metal Fiaba acompañados por la cantante Valentina Blanca, de la cual ya pudimos escuchar en Subterranea su más reciente colaboración con el genio de los teclados Rick Wakeman. Y por si no fueran suficientes eventos, os contaremos lo que ha sido la increible experiencia del proyecto 'Rock Con Fónico', en la cual Subterranea hemos tenido el honor de participar como parte del espectáculo. Hablaremos largo y tendido con Carlos Pastor, el absoluto 'padre de la criatura', bajo cuya dirección ha logrado reunir a 18 músicos de primerísima fila, para llevar a cabo este fantástico homenaje a las bandas históricas del rock sinfónico. Muchos recordaréis a Carlos por haber participado en nuestros especiales dedicados a Camel y a Genesis. Además de todo esto, contaremos nuevamente con la visita de nuestro compañero y amigo Carlos de la Fuente, que vendrá desde su proceloso Mar de los Metales para comentarnos algunas interesantes novedades del rock progresivo nacional.
