Michael Hughes is a postdoctoral researcher at St. Jude's Children's Hospital who studies the overlooked role of water in living systems. His work builds on a growing body of research suggesting that water is not just a passive solvent, but a highly structured, information-rich medium. Hughes proposes that under normal biological conditions, water's ability to form liquid crystalline phases, hydration shells, and coherent domains allows it to act more like an information storage system than an inert backdrop to biochemistry. Check out today's questions:    Sharon:  Hello Dr. Cabral. I recently listened to your podcast on the use of binders. I have also seen other functional practitioners recommend Igg immunoglobulin supplements for gut issues. I don't see anything like this in your store. But the supplement is described elsewhere as binding toxins. Can you explain the difference between this and the other binders you recommend and if you believe these supplements are useful for certain situations and if and when they might be recommended vs the traditional binders you discussed. I also see this recommended to heal gut lining. Do you find this useful for that purpose instead of glutamine?                                                                                                                         Lee: Hi Dr Cabral, I wanted to tap into your expertise as iv noticed a change rand wondered what could be behind it. I'm a 42 year old female, relatively fit & healthy but could do better in all areas! Iv noticed both my eyebrows are starting to thin at the inner edges so from the bridge of the nose. I'm wondering whether you've been following the longevity journey of Bryan Johnson.. the documentary just came to Netflix and it's called Don't Die because he literally wants to do everything in his power not to die, ever.. some of the things seem pretty dangerous to me (like gene therapy and taking immunosuppressants) and also he's selling some products like the Blueprint olive oil (I'm guessing it has lots of polyphenols, like the one you use as a supplement).. I was just wondering what you think about it all :)                                                                                                                            Anonymous: Hi, I tested my vit D at home & the test said I had levels above 100ng/mL - this test only goes up to 100ng/mL because most people don't have higher levels, so I don't know exactly how high they are. I understand this could be dangerous for my kidneys & arteries & maybe other things as well? I am wondering what could have caused my levels to get this high? I was using 4000iu per day since beginning of autumn & I didn't get really tan this summer either. There's additional 400iu in the multi I take, but is 4400iu really too much in the winter months? Considering I have fibromyalgia & hormone & gut problems I thought I would have some trouble with absorption of it all anyway so this really came as a shock! I am really interested in the explanation, the reasons why this can occur. Thank you                                        Anonymous: I was reading about vit D a lot & a naturopath I follow is really against supplementing with it, considering it's a secosteroid hormone & if we live where there's no Sun strong enough in the winter months, the nature obviously didn't intend for us to be having it in those months. She says that the tests only look at the reserves & there is no way of knowing how much of active vit D you have. Supplementing with it is therefore taking hormone therapy, that we should get it from Sun exposure in the summer months and then use up those reserves in the winter as nature intended. I really value your opinion so please explain in depth what is your take on this? Your body makes hydrogen peroxide that is used by the immune system to kill microbes. When hydrogen peroxide combines with iron, it can cause serious cellular damage. People with iron-deficiency anemia often have dysfunctional iron, which means it's unavailable to the red blood cells. This could be why we are not seeing a decrease in anemia even though we've increased iron in the food supply. Iron overload may increase your risk for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cancer, heart disease, and more. Excess iron causes oxidative stress and increases inflammation. As we age, we naturally accumulate more iron. Around 70% of our iron is stored in protein in the blood that helps carry oxygen. Ferritin should be inside your tissues to protect you from free iron and control when iron is released. This very efficient system recycles iron in the body. Certain pathogens, microbes, and infections use iron as fuel. This is why the body protects free iron. Some people feel better after donating blood, indicating they have too much iron. Too much iron without enough copper is a big problem. If you think you have this problem, limit iron exposure before taking a copper supplement. Iron is found in enriched flours, grains, and refined carbohydrate products. Shellfish, organ meats, sunflower seeds, and dark chocolate are good sources of copper. To combat oxidative damage caused by iron and other factors like alcohol, smoking, pollution, and junk foods, you'll want to build up your antioxidant reserve. Glutamine found in red meat is vital, but protein is the most important! It's especially important to consume enough protein as you get older. Zinc, manganese, magnesium, and selenium can increase antioxidant networks to help you regulate excess iron. Quercetin, curcumin, black tea, and increasing melatonin are also very beneficial. Lactoferrin is the most powerful chelator for iron. It's found naturally in dairy and can be taken as a supplement.

Are we being slowly poisoned? I was SHOCKED to learn about forever chemicals, also known as PFAS. Over 97% of Americans have tested positive for PFAS chemicals! In this video, I'll tell you how to limit exposure and strengthen your body to protect you from forever chemicals. PFAS chemicals are called forever chemicals because they stay in the environment for thousands of years. They've been found in our fat cells and breast milk and are especially problematic in our drinking water. PFAS are linked to many health problems, including cancer, hormone problems, liver damage, and reproductive damage. Forever chemicals are everywhere! They're found in Teflon cookware, food packaging, and canned goods, and firefighters are exposed to them when they use their foam. PFAS were first introduced into the environment in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Companies used loopholes by conducting their own studies to classify their products as GRAS (generally recognized as safe). To avoid the toxic side effects of PFAS, you should limit your exposure and build up your body's tolerance to these toxic chemicals. The EWG (Environmental Working Group) evaluated 25 PFAS chemicals and found that only 3 water filters could effectively remove them from drinking water: Travel Berkey Gravity, Clearly Filtered, and Zero Water. Because the water supply exposes you to many of the forever chemicals, it's a good idea to invest in a good water filter. Forever chemicals build up in the body but don't come out very easily. Here are some of the ways you can eliminate PFAS from the body and minimize their health effects: •Sweating •Autophagy •Infrared light exposure •Consuming spirulina and chlorella Your body has detoxification enzymes that can help you eliminate poisons naturally. To help detoxify the body, consume foods with sulfur, such as eggs, garlic, and onion. Cruciferous vegetables like cabbage, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts are high in sulfur and other antioxidants that can help the detoxification process. Glutamine is a vital antioxidant that can help increase glutathione in the body. Red meat is the best source, and glycine and probiotics are also essential. It's almost impossible to create a toxin-free environment! Trace minerals such as selenium, iodine, and copper, found in seafood and grass-fed red meat can help strengthen the biochemical pathways in your body to help eliminate forever chemicals.

In this podcast, we're going to talk about the seven symptoms of leaky gut. A very thin, single layer of cells acts as a barrier between the inside and the outside of your intestines. The intestines provide protection and absorption of 90 percent of all your nutrients. They also contain a mucus layer, microbes, and 80 percent of your immune system. Medical professionals typically recommend increased soluble fiber intake to fix leaky gut when you should actually do the opposite. The carnivore diet is the best leaky gut diet. More fiber creates more inflammation in this situation. Medical professionals also do not point to diet as a primary cause or solution of a leaky gut. Most diseases are triggered by something in your gut, which has everything to do with your diet. Broad-spectrum antibiotics can also affect gut health. Tampering with your gut microbiome can have serious consequences. You need the microbes in your gut to help you digest, and you don't want them to become pathogenic. Glyphosate is an herbicide sprayed on most GMO and conventional foods patented as an antibiotic, so it has an antibiotic effect on your body. Whole grains are also recommended, but they can wreak havoc on a leaky gut and cause an immune reaction. Seed oils are another major contributor to leaky gut. Here are seven signs of a leaky gut: 1. In this podcast, I'm going to share 12 fat-burning tips that can help you burn fat quickly. When tapping into fat-burning, the goal is to leverage your actions to create the biggest effect on weight loss. Here are my tips to help you burn fat fast! 1. Consume a moderate amount of high-quality animal protein. Also, keep your carbs below 50 grams each day. Your body's metabolic switch that allows you to tap into fat-burning is regulated by carb consumption. 2. Make your carbohydrates leafy greens. You don't have to worry about counting your carbs from vegetables. They also provide fiber, which is important for the health of your good microbes. 3. Don't eat unless you're hungry. Don't get into the habit of eating according to the clock. Avoid eating just because everyone else is eating. 4. Try exercise snacks. Take advantage of various opportunities during the day to get more exercise. Take breaks during computer work and go for a walk. 5. Avoid grains. Avoid all grains, even those that are gluten-free. Consuming fiber with an inflamed gut feeds pathogens. Glutamine found in meat and cabbage helps heal the gut. 6. No junk food in the house. Don't tempt yourself! If there's junk food in the house, you'll probably eat it. 7. Avoid locations where you will be tempted. Restaurants and social events can be sources of temptation. Avoid these places if necessary. 8. Avoid dead food. Food that has been ultra-processed and lasts forever is “dead”. This includes canned, boxed, and highly refined foods. 9. Try cold therapy. Cold showers, cold immersions, and more outside time during the winter can increase fat-burning. 10. Try adaptogens to help reduce stress. Adaptogens like ashwagandha, vitamin B1, and vitamin D can help to reduce stress levels to speed up fat-burning. 11. Avoid glyphosate. Glyphosate acts as an antibiotic in the body and can negatively affect your microbes. Glyphosate is high in cereals, corn, soy, canola, wheat products, and foods that aren't organic. 12. Consume apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar (ACV) helps support weight loss, stabilize blood sugar, and reduce insulin resistance.

I'm about to purchase Fatlossity for a loved one and I'm not disputing the fact that it works but I just checked ingredients and I'm seeing sunflower oil listed. Isn't that also a much maligned seed oil? Why would it be in product or is it absolutely necessary? Or do you guys formulate it in a way to minimise the usual fallouts from using it? He has a simple cyst on his kidney. The it is not interfering with anything right now; however the troubling part to us is that it is huge, about the size of a football. He retires next summer and we are thinking of having it drained while he is still on insurance. I know some complications can occur by either leaving it if it continues to enlarge or possibly infection on draining, etc. I know you can't give medical advice, but if this was you, are there any things you might try before opting for surgery. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
