What if the church you've been searching for all along is the one you didn't know existed? Kyle David shares how a lifetime of sincere belief still left him split between Sunday performance and weekday drift—until a medical collapse forced brutal honesty about faith, pride, and the limits of self-reliance. The story begins with restless church-hopping across megachurch stages and traditional pews, and moves through a pandemic-era return to the sanctuary that felt more like rebellion than routine. We trace Kyle's path from church fatigue and a divided life to a near-death crisis that reawakened faith, reverence, and daily discipline. The journey lands in Orthodoxy, where mystery is honored, repentance is central, and community finally feels like home.• Protestant upbringing across multiple denominations• dissatisfaction with casual worship and lack of reverence• gap years from church without renouncing belief• pandemic as a catalyst to reexplore tradition• medical collapse, surgery, and dependence on grace• honoring science while affirming providence• music as a metaphor for spiritual discipline• Eastern sense of mystery aligning with Orthodoxy• finding belonging at St. Anthony the Great• repentance and Christ as the physician of soulsThat restlessness turns into a reckoning when COVID pneumonia, a hurricane evacuation, and months in hospitals strip away pretense. Kyle talks candidly about respecting modern medicine and still seeing providence at work: surgeons and science as channels, not the source, of healing. From that edge of life, he stops “presenting” as Christian and starts practicing one—daily prayer, Scripture, repentance, and a slower, steadier walk. We explore how Orthodoxy's humility before mystery resonates with his Korean heritage and why the Church as a “hospital for the soul” shifted his understanding of mercy, sin, and healing.Music threads through the conversation as a living metaphor. As a drummer, Kyle learned to keep time within and adjust to the room without losing the beat. That's how he approaches faith now—discipline that makes space for grace. The turning point came at St. Anthony the Great in San Diego, where belonging finally felt honest: fewer smoke machines, more reverence; less hype, more healing. If you've felt the gap between head knowledge and a changed life, this story will meet you where you are and invite you deeper into a faith that doesn't explain away mystery but teaches you to stand before it.If this conversation moved you, tap follow, share it with a friend who's searching, and leave a review so more listeners can find the show.Questions about Orthodoxy? In The Believer's Authority, Part 2, Kenneth Hagin continues to reveal the spiritual power every believer possesses through Christ. He emphasizes that authority over Satan and demonic forces isn't something to be earned or requested — it's already granted through Jesus' victory at the cross and His resurrection. Hagin explains that too many Christians live in defeat because they fail to exercise this God-given authority, instead waiting for God to act when He has already delegated that responsibility to His Church. Drawing from Ephesians 1:19–23 and 2:6, he illustrates that believers are seated with Christ in heavenly places, sharing in His authority. Hagin urges Christians to renew their minds to this truth, speak the Word with confidence, and resist the enemy from a position of dominion rather than fear. He recounts personal experiences where taking spiritual authority — through the name of Jesus — brought breakthrough and deliverance. The core message: Satan has already been defeated, and believers must act on that truth by enforcing Christ's victory in their daily lives. Hagin challenges listeners to move from passive prayer to commanding faith, walking boldly in the authority that belongs to every child of God. Jaggy, Tedi, Rocky, and I thank you so much for tuning in and SHARING!

It's Witness Wednesday! A sharp history student, Cole, wrestles with the resurrection, truth, and his own conscience—then a Hebrew Roots believer named Carlos questions Easter, church tradition, and the name “Jesus.” Segment 1 • A thoughtful agnostic history major explores the reliability of Scripture and the resurrection. • Todd walks him through manuscript evidence and eyewitness testimony. • Can Christianity stand the test of history? Segment 2 • The conversation turns from intellect to conscience—lying, lust, blasphemy, and guilt before God. • Justice and mercy collide at the cross as Todd explains how forgiveness is possible. • Will Cole see his need for grace? Segment 3 • The tension rises: evidence vs. surrender. • Todd reminds Cole that the Christian faith is intellectual, but it's not JUST intellectual. • Todd urges Cole to respond before it's too late. Segment 4 • A self-described believer rejects “Easter,” insists on “Yeshua,” and blends Hebrew roots with Christian faith. • Todd probes what's behind the name debate and where saving faith truly rests. • Can focusing on details make us miss the gospel itself? ___ Thanks for listening! In this episode, we address our foundational question for this mini-series: What does baptism have to do with church membership? Should baptism be a requirement for membership? Are baptism and church membership two distinct commitments, or are they linked in the life of the church? How should Christians think of the connection between the two? Join us as we explore how Christians can think biblically about the relationship between baptism and church membership, and what Providence will practice moving forward.ResourcesPodcast Episodes138 - Commitments of Church Members139 - Proclaim and Protect, Contribute, Sacraments089 - Infant Baptism (with Kyle McClellan)090 - Believer's Baptism (with Bobby Jamieson)WrittenCovenantal (presbyterian)Westminster Confession of Faith 28.1“Baptism is a sacrament of the New Testament, ordained by Jesus Christ, not only for the solemn admission of the party baptized into the visible church, but also to be unto him a sign and seal of the covenant of grace…”Book of Order (Presbyterian Church U.S.A.)G-1.0303 - Church Membership"A faithful member accepts Christ's call to be involved responsibly in the ministry of his Church...
