The spiritual life cannot be fully understood or lived until the believer grasps the distinction between positional truth and experiential truth. Learning God's Word is always the starting point for the Christian way of life (1 Pet 2:2; 2 Tim 3:16–17). Until the believer orients to what God has already accomplished at initial salvation, he cannot discern what God now expects in fellowship (Rom 6:3–11). Confusion or neglect of Scripture inevitably drives the Christian into legalism, emotionalism, ritualism, activism, or frustration (Col 2:8, 20–23; Gal 3:1–3). Bible doctrine learned and applied provides the foundation for executing the spiritual life (Rom 12:2; Jam 1:22). God's riches for the believer include both positional and experiential blessings, and the former establishes the ground on which the latter are enjoyed (Eph 1:3; Col 2:6–7). How do we bring young people into the life of the Church? Kirk Galster, Josiah Walker, and Bryan Catherman discuss a challenging topic. Should the church include children in aspects of the worship gathering, such as collecting the offering, serving on the worship team, and leading in other ways? Should little kids become members? It's more than just including children in the worship service. This is about really bringing them in. How can children be included in the life of the Church, and how does this help train up the next generation? Copyright 2026. Find more information at SaltyBeliever.com.

In this Bible teaching from Harvest Church, we talk honestly about depression, mental health, and faith and how God meets us in difficult emotional seasons. Looking at passages like Gospel of Matthew 11:28 and Psalms 42, we are reminded of Jesus' invitation: “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” This message explores how depression can affect anyone—including great leaders in history and people in the Bible—and how God invites us to bring our pain, fears, and struggles directly to Him.We also discuss practical and biblical ways to face depression, including healthy self-talk, leaning on trusted community, seeking wise counsel, and staying connected to God through prayer. The Bible reminds us that even in seasons where our soul feels cast down, we can still place our hope in God and trust that His presence brings healing, strength, and renewed hope.If you're searching for churches in the Lehigh Valley or churches near Allentown, PA, Harvest Church exists to help people grow in faith, experience the peace of Jesus, and walk through life together in authentic Christian community. Pastor starts today's class by taking a look at Matthew 24:37-39a "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away." This text is part of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount of Olives and He is talking about His second coming. Jesus compares what it will be like at the end of time, to what happened at the time of Noah's flood. Noah and his sons built the boat over a long period of time and people could see he was building a huge boat, but they continued doing their regular life things and the flood took them all away. They had not listened to Noah's preaching and warnings. It will be like that at the end when Jesus returns.   In 2 Peter 3:3-10 Peter shares another comparison of what the Second Coming of Christ will be like. There will be a time when God keeps His word once again.  There's been a warning that there will be an end - the Second Coming of Christ and it will take place. We are called to be alert, listen and respond and not to ignore that He is returning. We are to be ready and waiting. Matthew 24 continues with verses 39b-42 "That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 'Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.'" Pastor zeroes in on the words "one will be taken the other left." The question is taken to where? Believer opinions are:     ⁃    Taken for judgement     ⁃    Taken to be with Christ Pastor refers back to a recent teaching entitled "What Happens When I Die?"  That teaching can be viewed here https://www.youtube.com/live/5L41Ufkiq2w?si=xxcv4CNj2FC-y7XD Part of that teaching is on 1 Thessalonians 4:13- 5:6. These verses are Paul's description of the Second Coming of Christ. Paul makes it clear that when Jesus returns the dead believers will be raised first and those still alive will be caught up with them. Pastor takes a deeper look at the original Greek text of the word Jesus uses for our translated word "taken." For the "taken" Jesus uses here, the word is paralambanō which means to be taken to one's side, to receive to one's self. It is a positive and affectionate word. It's the picture of the Bridegroom taking His bride (His people) to Himself.  In our day it is like Noah's day and Jesus' day where people are just going on like normal and ignoring God or not paying attention to Him or His Word. But Jesus speaks a word of warning to those not listening and a word of encouragement  to believers. In verse 42 He says, "Therefore keep watch!" The greek text for "keep watch" is the word grēgoreō and it means to keep awake! And to be ready for Christ's return! In closing, Pastor shares a saying he once heard: "Live as though Christ died yesterday, arose this morning and is coming again tomorrow!"   Now What? In Matthew 28, Jesus was given all authority in heaven and on earth. In that same passage, He passed the baton of authority on to us as believers. All of us as believers should be walking in Jesus' authority. When the disciples couldn't cast out a demon in Mark 9, Jesus called them an unbelieving and perverse generation. Could it be that Jesus' frustration towards us comes from our lack in doing the same things He did when He walked on the earth?

We’re in the third week of a series called "Holy Water," which is all about walking slowly through the Bible to understand who the Holy Spirit is and how believers are to approach, understand, and interact with Him. So far, we’ve discovered that the Holy Spirit is just as much God as the Father and the Son, He has been revealing Himself since the beginning and He resurrects a person’s spirit when they are saved and begins to influence their soul to follow Christ. This week's message challenges the idea that life for a believer after salvation is only a matter of trying to win the daily battle with the flesh. Together, we will learn that there is "something more” that is not different than salvation but deeper and expected. This "something more" is intended for everyone who gets saved, making salvation the beginning rather than the end, but to experience this saturation, the believer must surrender their soul to the Holy Spirit.

"Da Doo Ron Ron," "Then He Kissed Me," "Be My Baby," "(Christmas) Baby Please Come Home," "Chapel of Love," "River Deep - Mountain High," "Doo Wah Diddy," "Leader of the Pack," "Hanky Panky," "Sugar, Sugar," "I Honestly Love You." It's mind boggling!  PART ONE Paul and Scott chat about crossing a new friendship milestone and the long road to getting to speak with the unbelievably cool Jeff Barry. PART TWO Our in-depth interview with Jeff BarryABOUT JEFF BARRY Jeff Barry began his career as a recording artist for RCA and Decca Records, but attracted more attention for his original songs. After scoring pop hits with “Tell Laura I Love Her” and Sam Cooke's recording of “Teenage Sonata” in 1960, Jeff joined forces with Ellie Greenwich and Phil Spector to pen such classics as “Da Doo Ron Ron,” “Then He Kissed Me,” “Be My Baby,” “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” “Chapel of Love,” and “River Deep – Mountain High.” Greenwich and Barry also recorded together as the Raindrops while continuing to find success with other artists, including landing number one hits with “Doo Wah Diddy Diddy,” “Leader of the Pack,” and the Tommy James and the Shondells recording of “Hanky Panky.” Rolling Stone magazine's 2004 list of the “500 Greatest Rock Songs” included six Barry-Greenwich compositions, more than any other non-performing songwriting team. As a producer, Barry helmed such hits as “Cherry, Cherry” by Neil Diamond and “I'm a Believer” by The Monkees. After parting ways with Greenwich, Jeff began writing with Andy Kim, with whom he had the biggest hit of 1969 when he co-wrote and produced “Sugar, Sugar” by the fictional cartoon band The Archies. A few years later, Jeff was nominated for the Song of the Year Grammy for Olivia Newton John's 1974 chart-topping recording of “I Honestly Love You.” Additionally, he found success on the country charts in the 1970s and ‘80s with top 5 singles such as “Out of Hand,” recorded by Gary Stewart” and “Lie to You For Your Love,” recorded by the Bellamy Brothers. Never bound by genre categories, he also enjoyed top 5 R&B successes in those decades with songs such as “Heavy Makes You Happy” for the Staple Singers and “The Last Time I Made Love,” a song he wrote with Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil that was recorded by Joyce Kennedy and Jeffrey Osborne. In addition to writing more than 50 different songs that have reached the top 40 on the Billboard charts, Jeff penned the theme songs for TV shows such as One Day at a Time (“This Is It”), The Jeffersons (“Movin' on Up”), and Family Ties (“Without Us”). In 2019 he and writing partner Clarence Jey composed and wrote songs for the animated Nickelodeon show Lego City Adventures.  Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich are in the top 20 of Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Jeff has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Songwriters and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.  Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This wonderful picture book focuses on an element of the immigrant experience that some Asian Americans face, needing to help support their parents in business and family matters. We love how it celebrates the unique bond between immigrant parents and their children. Julie Leung has a long history of writing picture book biographies that include The Truth About Dragons (a 2024 Caldecott Honor book and winner of the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature), Paper Son: The Inspiring Story of Tyrus Wong, Immigrant and Artist (winner of the 2021 American Library Associations Asian/Pacific American Award for Best Picture Book), A Banquet for Cecilia, Mr. Pei's Perfect Shapes: The Story of Architect I. M. Pei, and The Fearless Flights of Hazel Ying Lee. Angie Kang is the author-illustrator of Our Lake which received a Caldecott Honor, the Charlotte Zolotow Award, and the Dilys Evans Founder's Award. She's a 2026 Sendak Fellow and the 2025 Ezra Jack Keats Fellow at MacDowell, her writing and artwork has appeared in The New Yorker, The Believer, Narrative, Ecotone, Best Small Fictions, and elsewhere. On her website, she shares several great samples of her paintings, short form comics, poetry, fiction, and essays.  In our conversation we discuss their journeys, what they hope readers get from Navigating Night, how Angie decided on the artwork, what Julie likes about Picture Book biographies, what it's like when a book releases, and so much more. Prayer isn't a religious obligation — it's an invitation. An invitation to the throne of grace, into relationship with your Father, and into the very heart and mission of God.In this session, Pastor Mark Medley builds on the previous lesson about the Word of God by showing how Scripture and prayer are deeply linked. He starts with a powerful idea: to pray is to change. Real prayer reorders our loves and priorities, and it's impossible to genuinely encounter God without being transformed by it. Through a story about visiting an African village chief — where access required an invitation, a gift, and an intermediary — Pastor Mark illustrates what makes Christian prayer so remarkable. God has already opened the door. Jesus is our intermediary. And we're told to come boldly. The session walks through several dimensions of prayer: the prayer of consecration and submission, the prayer of faith, the prayer of agreement with other believers, praying in the Spirit for personal edification, the prayer of supplication in spiritual warfare, and the prayer that replaces anxiety with peace. Along the way, Pastor Mark addresses the honest questions — why don't we pray more, why prayers sometimes seem unanswered, and how prayer is something we learn over time rather than master overnight. The session closes with a live demonstration of praying the Scriptures, turning Paul's prayer from Ephesians into a prayer over everyone listening — showing just how simple and powerful it is to let God's Word give us the words to speak back to Him.This is part of the Foundations class at Trinity Community Church, taught by Pastor Kelly Kinder and Pastor Mark Medley. We are Trinity Community Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.Subscribe to our Podcast & YouTube channel to find past sermons, classes, interviews, and more!Find us on Facebook & Instagram

End-to-End Encryption; How the Spirit Decodes Truth for the Believer - Rev. Roland Anang #ZionImpactMinistries #AgapeMount [Wed. Bible Study]

In this Bible study with Rev. Roland Anang, we explore a powerful kingdom mystery: truth is spiritually encrypted—and only the Spirit can decode it. Just as end-to-end encryption protects messages from third parties, the Word of God is spirit-to-spirit communication. Without the Holy Spirit, Scripture becomes mere literature, preaching becomes poetry, and church becomes routine. Drawing from scriptures like Zechariah, John, Daniel, Acts, Romans, and Revelation, this message unveils why many hear sermons but are not transformed. The difference is not intelligence, eloquence, or grammar—it is spiritual activation. The Spirit empowers both the preacher to encode truth and the believer to decode it. When revelation comes, change is immediate. When revelation is absent, we remain informed but unchanged. This episode is a call to tune your spiritual antenna, lay aside pride and cultural filters, and receive the engrafted Word with meekness—so you can truly hear what the Spirit is saying.
