It's likely been the name of a number of time travel-related stories -- but most recently, it was the name of a story that ran through The Flash #30-35 (from the 2011 series) and featured, among other villains, The Reverse-Flash. The fact that the final moments of the episode incorporate the "surprise" appearance of Eobard Thawne, then, suggests this could have been a more-than-incidental use of the name. OLIVER QUEEN - Oliver Queen, seen wearing a suit and not in his Green Arrow costume for the purposes of this season finale, is played by Stephen Amell. The star of Arrow, Oliver is generally considered the genesis point for The CW's DC Universe (even though they obviously had Smallville and Birds of Prey long before Arrow came along). Amell's Green Arrow appeared in the series premieres of both The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, so this episode more or less continues a tradition. NATE HEYWOOD - Nick Zano joins the cast as Nate Heywood -- "Citizen Steel" -- who in the comics inherits the powers and costume of his grandfather. He's a troubled individual, suffering from both physical and emotional damage, in the comics -- but as Zano told ComicBook.com at Comic Con International: San Diego, that's not the direction they're going with Heywood on TV. THE THREE MUSKETEERS - Cardinal Richelieu, depicted as one of the villains of Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, being included in this episode more or less cements the idea that they look like that on purpose -- and explains why certain characters who were strategically important in the fight -- like Jax, for instance -- had to stay out of sight. REX TYLER - Rex Tyler, the Golden Age Hourman and a veteran member of the Justice Society of America, is one of a number of DC heroes who would pass on his name and legacy numerous times over the decades to come in the comics. On TV, he made a single, brief appearance at the end of the season 1 finale of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and will show up again -- with the rest of the Justice Society this time -- in next week's episode as well. DAMIEN DARHK - Damien Darhk was the season four big bad on Arrow. Like Ra's al Ghul, he's a very old man who has been kept relatively young by the Lazarus Pit because of his position of power and authority first within the League of Assassins and later in H.I.V.E. Originally created as a villain in The Titans, Darhk's control of H.I.V.E. made him an ideal choice when The CW decided to introduce a magical villain last year. He was nearly unbeatable until Oliver figured out how to manipulate Darhk's energy to his own ends, and now he's dead -- except that as somebody who's been not only alive, but rich and powerful for decades, he's surprisingly easy for a time-traveling troublemaker to find and recruit. ALBERT EINSTEIN - First of all, he's appeared in DC Comics before. In an oversized issue Superman vs. Wonder Woman, Nazis went after Einstein in 1942. Ultimately, Wonder Woman rescues him but ends up finding out about the Manhattan Project. After becoming a person of interest for a while and throwing down with Superman a bit, she ends up teaming up with the Last Son of Krypton to track down and defeat Baron Blitzkrieg. Secondly, the thing with his wife is actually based in historical controversy. Mileva Marić was a Serbian physicist and has long been rumored to have coauthored Einstein's 1905 paper on relativity. INSULTING RAY - Calling him a "boy scout" feels like a nod to Brandon Routh's time as Superman, but the whole "what are you without that suit?" reeks of Marvel's The Avengers. That's a comic book movie reference twofer! REVERSE-FLASH - Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, may have something up his sleeve. At the end of The Flash's Season 3 premiere earlier this month, he said that while his future was as it should be, Barry's might not be. Barry then went home to discover a number of small anomalies that made his life and those of his friends worse. Now, we learn that "somebody" is outfitting the villains of history with future tech in order to push the world to a slightly worse place. Could Eobard Thawne have stepped right out of "Flashpoint" and into "Out of Time?" Either way, seeing him and Darhk together is enough to make seasoned Arrowverse fans quake in their boots even before they know the other members of Thawne's little Legion of Doom. ARROW NEWS New Arrow trailer reveals Laurel Lance twist (Date: 03 Jan 2017) Laurel is the Black Siren. Promo is from EW.com. Arrow returns Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/01/03/arrow-laurel-lance-black-siren-video/ Diggle is Making a new friend! (Date: 04 Jan 2017) Wendy Mericle told TVLine: “Diggle emerges from jail with a much bigger drive, and not the same fatalism that he had earlier in the season. He's going to come up against Colonel Walker and grow closer to Adrian Chase.” Guess having a good lawyer on his side in the form of the DA, as well as Vigilante, will help! Link:https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/01/04/john-diggle-makes-new-friend-arrow-returns/ Talia to play a crucial role in the Prometheus arc! (Date: 04 Jan 2017) * Speaking with TV Line, Mericle called the Prometheus mystery "a gift that keeps on giving for the rest of the season," adding that it will be Ra's al Ghul's daughter, Talia al Ghul, who plays a "crucial part" in helping Oliver solve the Prometheus mystery. * Stargate SG-1 actress Lexa Doig was recently cast to play the DC TV version of Talia on Arrow Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/04/arrow-talia-al-ghul-prometheus-connection/ com's Five predictions for the second half of S.05 (Date: 05 Jan 2017) Guys, do we agree or disagree: 1. Laurel will drive a lot of the story in the second half of the season 2. The Prometheus story will heat up 3. Talia will appear in the present (she's only been in flashbacks so far) 4. The Arrow v. Vigilante fight will boil over into city hall (in politics) 5. Reforming and coming back to the Original Team Arrow is the endgame (Oliver, Felicity, Diggle) Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/05/arrow-five-predictions-for-remainder-of-season-5/ GENERAL DC TV NEWS FIRST CLIP FROM KEVIN SMITH'S SUPERGIRL EP SHOWS CASUAL, QUIPPY TONE (Date: 27 Dec 2016) After directing an episode of season two of “The Flash,” Kevin Smith is returning to the CW to direct an episode of “Supergirl”. There's one big development that's revealed in the clip: Mon-El finally got a job! He's working as a bartender, which makes a lot of sense given his party-boy Daxamite background. True to form though, he's not great at fetching club soda for Kara, preferring to serve her something brown and boozy. Link:http://www.cbr.com/first-clip-from-kevin-smiths-supergirl-ep-shows-casual-quippy-tone/ Tense Flash clip finds Barry and Wally at odds (Date: 27 Dec 2016) Wally, reveling in his newly rediscovered Kid Flash powers, appears to have gotten a little over eager during what was supposed to be a training session with Barry. Despite the fact that he saves the Flash's life, Barry is none too happy with his protégé, and brings him to task for doing instead of observing and learning like he was supposed to.The clip also teases the introduction of another villain from the comics, with Wally bragging about how he put Plunder into Iron Heights. Plunder was previously shown in a season three episode in a news report, wearing an eye patch. Link:http://www.cbr.com/tense-flash-clip-finds-barry-and-wally-at-odds/ New Legends Of Tomorrow trailer Features Legion Of Doom (Date: xx month year) * The CW Television Network has just dropped a brand new trailer for the second-half of the second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. * It begins with Nate and Ray mentioning for the first time that Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) are member of the Legion of Doom — though White Canary doesn't want to call them that. * We also learn, from a Sara-Jax exchange, that the Legion have Rip Hunter. * Lots of great action! Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/24/new-legends-of-tomorrow-trailer-features-legion-of-doom/ Jeremy Jordan Talks Winn's Evolution on Supergirl (Date: 02 Jan 2017) Jeremy Jordan discusses with Comicbook.com how Winn is developing from last season now that he is with the DEO instead of CatCo. "I think that Winn has become a foil for the audience in terms of how he's giving us the fanboy reaction play by play, and that's a really fun, exciting aspect of Winn to play," Jordan said. "That's 'old Winn.' That who Winn has always been at his core. At the same time, Winn is growing up and learning to guard himself and learning to protect his friends and he kind of becomes a little bit of the sage advice-giver this season, whether he's giving advice to Alex or cautioning James to take it easy. I think he's learned a lot from Cat and he's learned a lot from his experience in the past year or so and it's forced him to grow up a lot." It seems pretty clear that Johns' return to writing a DC comic will involve the Watchmen characters that were behind the Rebirth event. But will that be a new series exclusively focusing on those characters or are we looking at another crossover event? There's still a lot of mystery surrounding Ozymandias and Doctor Manhattan's role in Rebirth so the safe bet would be another event series continuing on from where Rebirth left off. As far as a new DCTV series is concerned, will it be airing on The CW, Fox, Syfy or some other network? And with the large number of DC characters already appearing on the various shows, will it be another spinoff series? Link:https://www.comicbookmovie.com/comics/dc_comics/geoff-johns-will-return-to-writing-comics-in-2017-teases-another-a147819 Cisco Ramon may be getting a love interest (Date: 05 Jan 2017) * Gypsy is a character who teamed with Vibe, Vixen, and a handful of other heroes on the '80s' notorious "Justice League Detroit," and she is expected to make her way to Central City soon… * Gypsy may be the one to help him really power through the challenges ahead while shedding some of the baggage of the last few months. * From a TVLine interview: “Cisco will find in the 'badass' Gypsy 'a very strong adversary' as well as 'someone he can't stop thinking about.'” Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/01/05/the-flash-will-gypsy-be-a-love-interest-for-cisco-/ The back half of Supergirl S.02 will explore the Kara/Mon-El relationship (Date: 05 Jan 2017) * A recent clip from Kevin Smith's latest Supergirl episode showed another 'meet-cute' moment between the two model-faced aliens, * According to executive producer Ali Adler, we'll see that romantic sub-plot continue over the latter half of season 2. * As Adler told TV Line when laying out the mid-season 2 arcs, "We'll explore more of that relationship... Kara still has to figure out how she feels about him." * The fact that we now know Mon-El is hiding a possibly nefarious secret will also have to be addressed, with Adler acknowledging, "A lot of secrets have been brewing this season," and that as season 2 gets into its latter half, "We'll get definitive answers." Ambassador Controversy (Date: 19 December 2016) “There are so many horrible things that are going on in the world, and this is what you're protesting, seriously?” Gadot said about the backlash during a recent chat with TIME. She continued, “When people argue that Wonder Woman should ‘cover up,' I don't quite get it. They say, ‘If she's smart and strong, she can't also be sexy.' That's not fair. Why can't she be all of the above?” Of course, Gadot is not the only baffled by the controversy. Protestors demanded Wonder Woman be removed from her honorary position because some felt it was inappropriate to have a busty white woman carry the torch. However, fans from around the world are now rallying behind Wonder Woman and emphasizing that her beauty in no way negates her inspirational history. Already, there are dozens of online petitions running which ask the U.N. to reinstate Wonder Woman as an ambassador. Over on Change.org, Chloe Behrens has created a petition which asks for Wonder Woman to be reinstated as an ambassador. After around 2 months, it's finally done. This is my way of telling a unique story about the formation of the CW's very own, Justice League of America. There was a lot of pressure on me (that I put on myself) that this video be good, so I really hope you guys enjoy this,” UltraSargent wrote. When nightmares start taking over the populace, the League is tasked with finding someone who can help stop it, and his name is John Constantine. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/20/justice-league-dark-international-trailer-released/ Suicide Squad Is The Most Popular Movie Of 2016 On IMDB (Date: 19 Dec 2016) According to the website, Suicide Squad was the most popular movie of 2016 on IMDB. Here's what the ranking had to say about the supervillain flick: “Anticipation was high for the first big-budget movie lead by supervillains. All the signs were good with a cast that included Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker and Margot Robbie as the baseball bat-wielding troublemaker Harley Quinn. Robbie stole the show and the film helped position her as IMDb's top star of 2016. And while there were naysayers for the film, written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad took more than $745 million at the worldwide box office and made it the most popular movie on IMDb in 2016.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/20/suicide-squad-is-the-most-popular-movie-of-2016-on-imdb/ The Flash (Season 3) - Official (Date: 21 Dec 2016) Official promo for Flash season 3.5. As a city wonders what's become of its Emerald Archer, Green Arrow and Black Canary race to rule out their prime suspect: Emiko Queen. (Date: 19 Dec 2016) As part of an effort to reach the widest possible audience, The New 52 had downplayed Oliver Queen's left-wing politics. When Rebirth came around, though, one of the things that Percy seemed to be saying was that being a political animal was so engrained in Oliver's persona that removing it left the character missing something that hadn't been replaced. On sale March 15, Green Arrow #19 sees the Emerald Archer and his former sidekick Arsenal going up against...well, it's not exactly explained, but without larger context? It sounds a lot like the Dakota Access Pipeline project. Here's the solicitation text: “Orphaned as an infant and raised on a Navajo reservation, the superhero Arsenal returns to his adopted home to defend it from a violent militia hired by…Queen Industries?! Oliver Queen's company has been up to no good since his supposed death, but Green Arrow is on the scene to make things right. Unfortunately for Ollie, he's the last person his former sidekick wants to see.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/19/is-green-arrow-going-up-against-the-dakota-access-pipeline-in-ma/ DC's REBIRTH Gets Its Own Trailer (Date: 20 DC 2016) Seven months into DC Comics' "Rebirth" era, the publisher has released a trailer highlighting it as the start of "the next big epic." The trailer, done to coincide with the release of the first collections from "Rebirth," can be seen here: Link:http://www.newsarama.com/32451-dc-s-rebirth-gets-its-own-trailer.html Wonder Woman writer and artist dropped by DC over 'challenging relationship' (Date: 20 Dec 2016) The critically acclaimed, Eisner-nominated comic series The Legend of Wonder Woman has been cancelled by DC Comics, because of what a spokesperson for DC called “a challenging relationship” with the husband and wife team behind the series. Since the cancellation was announced, fans have been wondering whether it was due to poor sales, or studio sexism towards Wonder Woman. However, the DC spokesperson told the Guardian that though “we loved the book and we were very excited to work on the collected volume”, the studio was concerned about Dillon's public comments about other teams at DC on social media. In a series of now-deleted tweets, preserved online on Bleeding Cool, Dillon criticised the writing in another DC series, Wonder Woman: Earth One, and complained when DC approved future volumes of Earth One while he was waiting to hear about the future of his own series. “It is an unfortunate situation. We tried hard to make it work,” the DC spokesperson said. SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #274 - Supergirl 2x08 - Medusa | Recap & ReviewThanksgiving at Kara’s house gets off to a rocky start as James and Wynn want to confess their vigilante lifestyle but Alex has confessional plans of her own. Everyone’s plans are thwarted though by space/time rupturing above the dinner table. Mon-El has a hard time at the alien dive bar as he gets his ass kicked by Cyborg Superman and is sickened by a virus made to kill aliens wholesale. Kara discovers, to her great disappointment, that this biological weapon was designed by none other than her father. Eliza Danvers uncovers the workings of the aerosolized virus and points out an isotope needed for its dispersal. Supergirl and the gang show up just in time to stop Hank Henshaw from getting his robotic hands on it, but Maggie takes a hit, which gives her and Alex a chance to bond over some minor surgery. Kara confronts Lena about her mother and gets the cold shoulder. Lena then offers to help her mother and her dastardly, alien-erasing scheme. Her mother accepts Lena’s help, but later regrets it as Lena has reversed the effect of the isotope and rendered Mom’s giant weapon useless. Eliza uses the xenovirus to find a cure for both Mon-El and the nearly-White-Martianed J’onn. She also finds time to let Alex know that she’s okay with her being way into Maggie. Which is good timing all around because Maggie’s near death experience has shown her that she’d rather take her chances with Alex after all. Some faceless people are after Mon-El but- wait, Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon cross universes to ask Supergirl for help.

Oliver finds himself back at Queen Manor; both his parents are alive, he is about to be married to Laurel Lance, and Diggle is the Hood. However, it is revealed that he, Diggle, Thea, Sara and Ray are all being held unconscious inside pods aboard a Dominator spaceship. Meanwhile, Felicity, Curtis and Cisco Ramon try to hack into the Dominators' mainframe using a piece of their technology. The team recovers a necessary device with the help of the Flash and Supergirl, and they manage to locate the others. Oliver begins seeing flashes of his former life, as do Sara and Ray. All five captives soon realize that they are inside a shared hallucination. Their escape attempt is blocked by manifestations of Malcolm Merlyn, Deathstroke, Damien Darhk and their mercenaries, all of whom are defeated by the captives. The captives then leave the dream and awaken inside the ship. Escaping in a shuttle, they are rescued by the Waverider. Ray deduces that the Dominators were gathering information from their minds, using the hallucination as a distraction, to help them complete a special "weapon". The team learns that the Dominator mothership is headed toward Earth. This episode continues a crossover that begins on The Flash season 3 episode 8 and concludes on Legends of Tomorrow season 2 episode 7.

Fight scenes & Stunts: Share your thoughts (Stealing from the Flashbacks) Fight with Kovar - Damn!! Adrian Chase Tells robbery suspect that he's “been to hell” Knows where Dunn the bank robber is Likely Vigilante Susan Williams Knows a Russian journalist Plays pool to win Getting Ollie to like and trust her Tells Ollie that he should do things the right way even if it takes time Bratva Gregor made deal with Ollie Likely using Ollie Where's Anatoly??? Prometheus OMG - that last scene! Knows Artemis Michelle's List O'Suspects: (Being bold by eliminating some this week due to developments) Tommy Merlyn Robert Queen Adrian Chase (but more likely to become Vigilante) Billy Malone (he “heard on the street” that Prometheus was a threat to the Arrow; very eager to learn where Green Arrow lives) Helena Bertinelli (but I would rather see her as either Huntress or head of the Bertinelli family) Isabel Rochev Mckenna Hall Shado Slade Wilson (being Deathstroke right away could give his plan away) Talia al Ghul (see this week's news) New: Quentin Lance (likely a red herring) (in rehab) Roy (he's been mentioned, he's had access to arrows, and he might have seen The List) Viktor (SP's add; he did see the list - shown in the season premiere) CURRENT EPISODE DC EASTER EGGS & POP CULTURE REFERENCES Season 5 Episode 6 “So It Begins” (Date: 10 Nov 2016) Article: http://comicbook.com/2016/11/10/arrow-easter-eggs-and-other-things-you-might-have-missed-in-so-i Vigilante - But we've done that at least once before — and we think twice, so at this point we think it's pretty well-covered ground that Adrian Chase was in the comics a costumed antihero known as Vigilante before he eventually took his own life out of the remorse he felt for abandoning the rule of law he had sworn to uphold his entire adult life. The Torah - “Is that from the Torah?” Oliver asks Rory before the Moby-Dick metaphor starts. That's a not-so-subtle nod to Ragman's Jewish heritage, which has been mentioned before. It's worth a note that Rory and Felicity's Jewish heritage makes the current incarnation of Team Arrow probably the most diverse groups of superheroes ever assembled on TV, with Oliver being the only non-ethnic male on the team. It's happened without much in the way of the fanfare and attention these things usually get, so it seems worth at least a mention. Channel 52 - Here, it's Channel 52's news story when Oliver is checking on Dunn. McGuire's ? - It's not clear whether McGuire's (which could also be Maguire's or McGwire's) bar is actually meant to be a reference, but if it is, it's likely to Bridget McGuire, who was an art director on Arrow's first two seasons. ..IS THAT A 'ROCKY IV' REFERENCE? - Because it's Dolph Lundgren playing a big Russian, we're going to be looking for references to Rocky IV pretty much every week until we're sure we've seen one. That said, wrapping his hands in gauze like you do before you put your boxing gloves on (yes, we know his hands were injured. Still!), and then having him unleash a hail of haymakers on Oliver carries a little bit of an Ivan Drago context to it, doesn't it? John Jr. - This is the first time we've seen John Diggle, Jr. actually appear onscreen! He's a cute kid. He also, if you remember, used to be Sara Diggle (named for the then-dead-now-better Sara Lance) before Barry Allen traveled back in time and changed history in the "Flashpoint" event. HUB CITY - "The Marshals are halfway to Hub City by now," Lyla Michaels tells Diggle. Hub City, a fictional city in the DC Universe, is best known as the home to The Question, a self-taught urban shaman. While The Question didn't appear when Oliver visited the city last year, mystic Esrin Fortuna seemed like she had a similar role (and since there was a female Question for a while, some fans on Twitter briefly wondered whether that could be what we were seeing unfold). Moby Dick is a novel written by Herman Melville in 1851. The narrator is Ishmael, and he recounts his time on the whaling ship Pequod under the command of Captain Ahab. Ahab recklessly pursues the white whale, Moby Dick, noted for destroying whaling ships. Ahab's wooden leg is a result of an encounter with Moby Dick. SP's add: Judge Balderama - Oscar Balderama. The video reveals a few glimpses of the “Arrow”-verse's latest threat: yellow, mind-controlling aliens with needle-like teeth and large red spots on their foreheads. Eagle eyes will spot a glimpse of Deathstroke. Link: http://www.cbr.com/new-arrowverse-crossover-promo-offers-first-look-at-the-dominators/ All in the Family (Date: 18 Nov 2016) Highlights from the article in Entertainment Weekly: The crossover story involves the Dominators, mind-controlling space invaders alarmed by Earth's surging population of metahumans. 15 characters from the 4 shows will assemble in an aeronautics facility that's part of STAR labs. This is when Barry Allen introduces Supergirl to the group. At first Diggle is not sure why Supergirl is special, but gets impressed when she hovers. Berlanti is not a fan of the shows being called the “Berlantiverse.” According to him, “There are just so many people that are also part of this. Plus, you never want anything named after you that people could be upset or angry about.” The creators like that the shows are steeped in genuine relationship drama and that they are about something. “These shows have to work on multiples levels,” says Berlanti, “You want them to be enjoyable. But if they're not about something, why are you showing up to work every day and asking everybody to pour their heart and soul into a story if it's only about the Flash fighting a villain of the week?” As for bumps in the road the shows have had? Berlanti says, “We certainly made errors along the way. But that's been part of the fun, too.” Tidbits about each show after the crossover: Arrow - Prometheus should be unmasked soon. “Always in our midseason finales, we like to revisit the big bad,” hints Berlanti. The Flash - The annual Christmas episode is set to be tearful and will also flesh out villains Savitar and Dr. Alchemy. Legends: Captain Cold and Malcolm Merlyn join the Legion of Doom. When asked if he was having fun doing the show, Lundgren replied, “Yes, it has been a blast. It's fun to play this character. I think he was well-written and I have a lot of fun with it, and the fact that I don't really know where it's going is interesting because I have to keep the character alive sort of within myself over quite a long period of [time]. ... I know it's going to be six months for sure because I'm doing some stuff in February. So yeah, that's interesting. And yeah, it's sort of endearing to have this Kovar fellow be there almost every day in my life too, to be ready for the next shot. So I'm enjoying it. I'm sure the future will be even better.” Link:https://www.accesshollywood.com/articles/arrow-season-5-dolph-lundgren-konstantin-kovar-guest-arc/ Link2:http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/11/15/arrow-dolph-lundgren-on-how-konstantin-kovar-compares-to-ivan-drago GENERAL DC TV NEWS CW sets Riverdale premiere date; Supernatural, Legends of Tomorrow moving timeslots (Date: 16 Nov 2016) DC's Legends of Tomorrow will move to Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET starting Jan. 24. Savitar was brought into the “Flash” comics way back in 1995's “The Flash” (Vol. 2) #108 by writer Mark Waid and artist Oscar Jimenez. Savitar has the ability to transfer speed from one being to another. Thus, he's able to power an entire army of ninjas with energy from the Speed Force, using them to steal speed from existing speedsters. We soon learn that Savitar is a self-proclaimed god who formed a Speed Force-obsessed cult for himself, developing a messiah complex along the way. Savitar got his powers amidst the Cold War as a fighter pilot that accidentally broke the sound barrier. The footage shows the Justice League scrambling to end a global phenomena being caused by dark magic. When it comes to casting, Justice League Dark nabbed several big names from the DC Animated Universe. Jason O'Mara will voice Batman while Matt Ryan will play Constantine. Zatanna will be voiced by Camilla Luddington, Deadman by Nicholas Turturro, and Etrigan by Ray Chase. Rosario Dawson will play Wonder Woman, and Superman will be voiced by Jerry O'Connell. Justice League Dark is expected to hit DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital HD in early 2017. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/11/15/justice-league-dark-trailer-released-will-be-r-rated/ IS DC'S KOBRA DEBUTING IN THE CW'S SUPERHERO CROSSOVER? (Date: 15 Nov 2016) In addition to the arrival of the pointy-eared antagonists, the teaser also included the first look at Citizen Steel's helmet, the return of Deathstroke — and the first glimpse of a new, intimidating logo we haven't seen before. Now, the question arises: who's icon is that? In a recent report, it was revealed that the CW version of the Dominators utilize a form of mind control, a departure from their comic book counterparts. The logo seen in the trailer has us thinking, perhaps there's another, longer-lasting reason the alien invaders will be employing this technique in their battle for Earth. In the comics, the Kobra Cult is a terrorist organization dedicated to controlling the world. In short, exactly the sort of group the Arrowverse loves to introduce as foils to its heroes, and one whose debut during a crossover of this magnitude could lay the seeds for multiple storylines across future seasons for every DC/CW show. Oliver and Roy track down the home of Digger Harkness, a boomerang-wielding murderer, but they only find A.R.G.U.S. operatives looking for the same man. S.T.A.R. Labs' Dr. Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon arrive in Starling City to help Felicity analyze DNA from the arrow that killed Sara. Digger attempts to kill Lyla; Roy and Oliver arrive to stop him, but need assistance from Barry Allen, who uses his super speed to stop a couple of boomerangs from killing Oliver. Later, Lyla reveals Digger was part of the Suicide Squad, and Oliver agrees to allow Barry to assist in the investigation. Oliver's interrogation tactics lead Barry to question how emotionally stable Oliver is. The team track Digger's location, but it turns out to be a ruse that allows Digger to trace their hideout, where he wounds Lyla before being forced to run away. In order to escape, Digger plants 5 bombs around the city. While Oliver captures Digger, Barry uses the rest of the team to defuse the bombs at the same time. Flashbacks to Hong Kong show Oliver learning how to torture suspects effectively to get information.

He tracks down Mardon and with the help of Detective West, who learns of Barry’s abilities, he is able to stop him. New TV Shows for Fall 2014 We celebrate it every year, and it's that time of year again - a whole fall slate full of new HDTV shows. These new shows give us the opportunity to make new friends, share some laughs, and have an adventure or two, all from the comfort of your comfy living room sofa. When we were kids we looked forward to Christmas and the first day of summer. As adults, we look forward to the fall more than anything else. Yes, the kids are back in school and football is back, but also our favorite shows are coming back with new episodes and we get the opportunity to fill the DVR with brand new series. ABC Black-ish Premieres: Wednesday, Sep. 24 at 9/8c Created by and starring comedian Anthony Anderson, Black-ish explores one man's efforts to establish a cultural identity for his family after he discovers his children don't have one. Anderson stars as man-of-the-house Dre, and Tracee Ellis Ross plays his biracial wife Rainbow; they've got their hands full working and raising kids Zoey, Andre (who prefers to be called Andy and really, really wants a bar mitzvah despite the fact they're not Jewish), and twins Jack and Diane. Hannibal's Laurence Fishburne appears as Dre's father, Pops, and wears velour tracksuits because he's Laurence freaking Fishburne. Cristela Premieres: Friday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c Loosely based on comedienne Cristela Alonzo's life and stand-up routine, this family sitcom opens as the title character enters her sixth year of law school and takes on an unpaid internship at a law firm where she's frequently mistaken for the help. As she works to get her life and career started, she must also deal with her traditional Mexican-American family, who struggles to understand her ambitions. Carlos Ponce, Terri Hoyos, Andrew Leeds, Sam McMurray, and Jacob Guenther also star. Forever Premieres: Monday, Sep. 22 at 10/9c Ioan Gruffudd stars as New York City medical examiner Henry Morgan, who harbors an unusual secret —he can't die. Working alongside his new partner, Det. Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza), Morgan studies the dead in an effort to discover the mystery of his own immortality. Also, the ladies in the crowd might want to take note: When Morgan dies (and he dies semi-often for some reason), he always comes back naked. Judd Hirsch, Donnie Keshawarz, and Joel David Moore also star. How to Get Away With Murder Premieres: Thursday, Sep. 25 at 10/9c Shonda Rhimes continues her push toward world domination with this legal thriller, which stars Viola Davis as a serious-as-the-death-penalty law school professor whose attractive students vie for her approval and a desk at her prestigious law firm. But their biggest lessons are learned outside the classroom, when they get caught up in a murder plot and, presumably, must figure out how to get away with it. Expect Scandal-sized twists and Grey's-like drama! Manhattan Love Story Premieres: Tuesday, Sep. 30 at 8/7c This new comedy uses the power of voiceover to broadcast the internal monologues of a New York City dude (Jake McDorman) and a Midwestern transplant chick (Analeigh Tipton) as they navigate an awkward first date and subsequent budding romance. What you'll learn early on from the voices in their heads is that guys like sex and women like purses; but as the series — and their relationship progresses, we expect things will get a bit more complicated than that. Selfie Premieres: Tuesday, Sep. 30 at 8/7c Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) drops her adorable Scottish accent to star in this modern spin on Pygmalion that takes place in today's social media-driven world. Gillan's Eliza Dooley is obsessed with becoming Internet famous, but her constant Instagramming and Facebooking has left her devoid of any real friends — not to mention the social skills required to make any. Desperate for a fix, Eliza hires marketer Henry Higenbottam (John Cho) to help her rebuild her image and put down her damn phone for once. CBS Madam Secretary Premieres: Sunday, Sep. 21 at 8/7c Tea Leoni plays a former CIA agent whose former boss, now the president of the United States (Keith Carradine), asks her to take on the role of Secretary of State after an accident claims the life of the office's previous occupant. Using her no-nonsense, unconventional attitude toward politics, she shakes things up in Washington, D.C. while also juggling her home life as a wife and a mother. Tim Daly and Bebe Neuwirth also star. The McCarthys Premieres: Thursday, Oct. 30 at 9/8c A loud-mouthed, sports-crazy Boston family (aren't those things redundant?) is at the center of this multi-camera sitcom based on the life of series creator Brian Gallivan. But what happens when the patriarch asks the resident black sheep — a gay, sports-averse son — o be his assistant basketball coach? Madness! Will there be a "you throw like a girl" joke? Probably! Tyler Ritter, Laurie Metcalf, Jack McGee, Jimmy Dunn, and Joey McIntyre (yes, that Joey McIntyre, of New Kids on the Block) star. NCIS: New Orleans Premieres: Tuesday, Sep. 23 at 9/8c Why should Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles have all the fun? The Big Easy gets its own iteration of TV's most-watched drama, with Scott Bakula, Lucas Black, Zoe McLellan, and C.C.H. Pounder solving crimes on Bourbon Street and beyond. We guess the Navy boys get into lots of trouble while they're on leave! Scorpion Premieres: Monday, Sep. 22 at 9/8c Based on the experiences of real-world genius Walter O'Brien, Scorpion is about a bunch of nerds who form a team to solve some of the world's most complex problems. (It's like if the Justice League of America traded their superpowers for supersmarts, computer wizardry and hacking skills.) And to give the show a Big Bang Theory-esque twist, Katharine McPhee plays the diner waitress who glues them all together. Elyes Gabel, Robert Patrick, and Eddie Kaye Thomas also star. Stalker Premieres: Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 10/9c This violent and shocking thriller from The Following's Kevin Williamson has already drawn plenty of pre-air criticism, and with good reason. It follows a division of the LAPD that deals with stalkers, voyeurs, and love-obsessed weirdos who target mostly women, often with deadly results. Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott star as our law enforcement heroes who may be more complicated than they seem. NBC A to Z Premieres: Thursday, Oct. 2 at 9/8c A student of the How I Met Your Mother school of television, A to Z is a romantic comedy that chronicles a relationship from beginning to end, à la 500 Days of Summer. Mad Men's Ben Feldman stars (with both of his nipples!) as Andrew, a true believer in destiny and romance, while HIMYM's ever-charming Cristin Milioti plays the object of his affection, Zelda. (A to Z, get it?) Lenora Crichlow, Henry Zebrowski, and Christina Kirk round out the cast. Bad Judge Premieres: Thursday, Oct. 2 at 9/8c This single-camera comedy stars Kate Walsh (Private Practice, Fargo) as Rebecca Wright, one of L.A.'s most respected criminal court judges. But here's the (overused and kind-of-boring) catch: While Rebecca totally and completely has it together in her work life, her personal life is the exact definition of a hot mess. She's flaky, she sleeps around without a care in the world, and she parties like she's still in college (so we're guessing she has the world's worst hangovers). She does drive a sweet van, though! John Ducey, Tone Bell, and Theodore Barnes also star. Constantine Premieres: Friday, Oct. 24 at 10/9c One of many comic book adaptations this season, Constantine is based on the DC Comics series Hellblazer. Welsh actor Matt Ryan stars as the titular John Constantine, a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult who abandoned his campaign against evil after failing to save a young girl's soul from hell. However, he's pulled back into the fight when the balance between good and evil somehow winds up on the line and an angel named Manny (Lost's Harold Perrineau) tells him to man up and get his act together. True Detective's Charles Halford also stars. Marry Me Premieres: Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 9/8c Happy Endings' David Caspe is the writer behind this rom-com about a couple (played by Ken Marino and Caspe's real-life wife Casey Wilson) who are well on their way to tying the knot. There's just one problem: They can't get the marriage proposal right! Is it a sign that they aren't supposed to be together? Or do they need to just stop screwing up their overly inventive attempts to get engaged? Sarah Wright and John Gemberling also star. The Mysteries of Laura Premieres: Wednesday, Sep. 17 at 10/9c Things at NBC are about to get Messing again! This lighthearted drama brings Will & Grace and Smash actress Debra Messing back to the small screen as Laura Diamond, an NYPD homicide detective who spends her days cleaning up the streets and the rest of her time cleaning up after her rambunctious twin sons and soon-to-be ex-husband (Josh Lucas) Laz Alonso also stars. State of Affairs Premieres: Monday, Nov. 17 at 10/9c Former Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl is making her grand return to television, whether you want her to or not. In this political drama, she plays a top CIA attache who's tasked with one heck of a job: put together a briefing for the president (Alfre Woodard) to assess the greatest threats to national security. And just in case that doesn't sound stressful enough, she spends what little free time she has hunting down the terrorists who killed her fiancé, who also happened to be the president's son. FOX Gotham Premieres: Monday, Sep. 22 at 8/7c Described as the origin story of future Gotham police commissioner Jim Gordon, Gotham is Fox's effort to get in on TV's comic-book craze. Southland and The O.C. alum Ben McKenzie stars as Gordon, a fresh-faced police detective whose life begins to change when he and his partner, the brash Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), start investigating the murder of the parents of none other than a young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz). However, the noir crime drama isn't just about Gordon's rise through the ranks of Gotham City's PD; it also promises to tell the origin stories of several DC Comics' villains, including Catwoman (Camren Bicondova), the Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), and the Riddler (Cory Michael Smith). Gracepoint Premieres: Thursday, Oct. 2 at 9/8c When a young boy is found dead on an idyllic beach, a major police investigation gets underway in the small California seaside town where the tragedy occurred. Soon deemed a homicide, the case sparks a media frenzy, which throws the boy's family into further turmoil and upends the lives of all of the town's residents. Based on the British series Broadchurch, the event series stars David Tennant and Anna Gunn as the pair of cops investigating the case. The cast also includes Nick Nolte, Michael Pena, Jacki Weaver and Kevin Rankin. Mulaney Premieres: Sunday, Oct. 5 at 9/8c What's the deal with this show? Stand-up comic and former SNL writer John Mulaney does his best Jerry Seinfeld impression as a comedian who lives and works in New York City and whose pals (Nasim Pedrad and Seaton Smith) and wacky neighbor (Elliot Gould) like to butt into his life. But John will have a more regular gig than Jerry ever did: He writes jokes for a game-show host and comedian played by Martin Short. Yada, yada, yada... Red Band Society Premieres: Wednesday, Sep. 17 at 9/8c Set in the children's ward of a Los Angeles hospital (and narrated by a kid who's in a coma), Red Band Society is a coming-of-age drama that follows a Breakfast Club -esque group of patients as they such face life-changing (and life-threatening) challenges as cancer and heart defects. Griffin Gluck, Zoe Levin, Charlie Rowe, Astro, Ciara Bravo, and Nolan Sotillo star as the young protagonists, while Dave Annable, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and Octavia Spencer take on the adult roles of the doctors and nurses who mentor them through the ups and downs of adolescence. Utopia Premieres: Sunday, Sep. 7 at 8/7c In this experimental reality series based on a Dutch format, 15 contestants — of varying backgrounds and temperaments, of course —are thrown into the wilderness to spend an entire year building their own society with their own rules. Think Kid Nation for grown-ups. Will they govern by democracy, or will a dictator rise to power? Will they practice a certain religion, or will atheism rule? Will they farm their own food or eat each other as things devolve into anarchy and cannibalism? It'll be paradise or chaos (or something in the middle), and it'll be filmed for your enjoyment! CW The Flash Premieres: Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 8/7c The CW's highly anticipated Arrow spin-off stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, who becomes the fastest man alive, aka The Flash, after an explosion at the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator bestows him with superhuman speed. More lighthearted than its parent series, The Flash is set in Central City, where Barry works as a forensic investigator and uses his special power to help fight crime. He's aided in that endeavor by Det. Joe West (Law & Order's Jesse L. Martin), a cop who also serves as Barry's surrogate father; Barry's real father (TV's original Barry Allen, and Dawson Leery's dad, John Wesley Shipp) is in prison for allegedly murdering Barry's mother. Rounding out the cast are Candice Patton as Iris, Joe's daughter and Barry's BFF; Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes as S.T.A.R. Labs scientists Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon; Rick Cosnett as Det. Eddie Thawne; and Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells. Jane The Virgin Premieres: Monday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c Come on, it's all right there in the title: Gina Rodriguez stars as a young woman named Jane, and Jane is a virgin! What more is there to know? Well, okay, there is the fact that she's pregnant because she was accidentally artificially inseminated by her gynecologist. Whoops! And to make matters even more complicated, Jane has to decide whether or not to keep the baby after discovering the sperm specimen belonged to cancer survivor Rafael (Justin Baldoni), who's not only a former crush of Jane's, but also her new boss. Research compiled with the help of TV Guide. A look back at the new TV shows for Fall 2013 How many survived? Of the shows we looked at for Fall premieres last year, not that many.
