For more than four decades, Kevin Randle has investigated some of the world's most famous UFO cases—from Roswell and Kingman to Rendlesham Forest, Pascagoula, and beyond. In his newest book, UFO Sightings and Alien Visitations: Facts and Falsehoods, Randle takes a careful, evidence-based look at the strongest—and weakest—claims surrounding UFOs, alien encounters, government investigations, and alleged cover-ups.In this All Things Unexplained exclusive interview, we discuss the research behind the book, how Randle evaluates evidence, where skeptics and believers often go wrong, and which historical cases continue to withstand scrutiny decades later. We also explore the modern UAP era, recent congressional hearings, and whether today's disclosure movement is truly different from those of the past.Whether you're a longtime UFO researcher, a skeptic, or simply curious about the phenomenon, this conversation offers a thoughtful examination of one of the most enduring mysteries of our time.Topics include:Roswell and crash retrieval claimsThe Kingman investigationPascagoula and alien encountersRendlesham ForestAlien abductionsGovernment secrecy and disclosureEvaluating evidence vs. misinformationWhat Kevin Randle believes still remains unexplained

In 1976, police officer George Wheeler reported encountering a massive UFO and being struck by a beam of light that knocked him to the ground. Six months later, he was dead. Other witnesses reported unusual activity surrounding the encounter, adding further intrigue to an already remarkable case. Even more compelling, Wheeler's experience was part of a broader wave of UFO sightings reported throughout Elmwood, Wisconsin before and after that night. What was happening over this quiet Midwestern town? And could Wheeler's mysterious encounter have somehow contributed to his untimely death? We discuss the various films Steven Spielberg has released about alien encounters: Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977), E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982), War of the Worlds (2005), and our inciting film, Disclosure Day. Featuring Mark, Lawrence, Sarahlyn, and Al. How is the new film as "mature Spielberg"? Is it as fun as the older films? Is it too heavy handed? Do the older films hold up? Would YOU go with the aliens? Are we as a society too jaded at this point for the Spielberg magic to fully work? In this episode I walk and talk with UFO blogger Simon Tucker in Scoriton, on Dartmoor. We discuss the close encounter that a local man called Arthur Bryant had in 1965 in a field above the village. What happens when the people trained to observe, investigate and report the facts encounter something they simply cannot explain? In this episode of Pursuit of the Paranormal, we speak with Inspector Roy Teague about his new book, Close Encounters of the Police Kind, which explores extraordinary accounts of UFOs, UAP, strange lights and unexplained phenomena witnessed by serving and former British police officers. These aren't stories from anonymous internet posts. They come from people whose careers depended on observation, accuracy and giving reliable accounts of what they witnessed. We talk to Roy about some of the incredible cases featured in the book, why police officers have historically been reluctant to speak publicly about paranormal or UFO encounters, how these incidents were treated within the force, and whether attitudes towards UAP are finally beginning to change. We also ask the bigger question: when trained police witnesses report seeing something impossible, how seriously should we take their testimony?
Steven Spielberg doesn't want you to know his aliens aren't real. That's the standard Matthew Butler had to hit on Disclosure Day: total photographic believability, zero tolerance for anything that reads as fantasy, even when the story is about a supposed decades-long government cover-up of extraterrestrial contact. Butler has been Spielberg's go-to VFX supervisor for grounded, "make it real" work since Ready Player One, and before that, he was Chris's first VFX supervisor ever, on The Day After Tomorrow. Back in Episode 557, Chris and Daniel broke down Disclosure Day as fans, tracing its DNA back through Close Encounters and Sugarland Express. This time they bring on the person who actually built it, for a conversation about matching digitally-replaced train sequences to real-world reference plates, a shot count that came in smaller than planned going in, and why the biggest emotional gut-punch in the movie has almost nothing to do with visual effects at all. Butler walks through how Spielberg directs VFX without ever really discussing VFX, and the two of them dig into what makes his process so different: a shot list that shrank instead of ballooning, something Butler says has never happened on any other project in his career, a director who wants to solve problems himself rather than have them solved for him, and a 30-year veteran realizing mid-conversation that the AI moment VFX is living through right now feels exactly like the unsolved chaos of the 1990s. A conversation about restraint, trust, and knowing when the effects work is actually done when nobody notices it. Mentioned in this episode: Digital Domain, James Cameron, Titanic, Poltergeist, Tobe Hooper, Eric Barba, Doug Roble, Janusz Kamiński, Chris Columbus, Gremlins reboot, The Odyssey, Dune Guest links: Mattew Butler on IMDB > Matthew Butler on LinkedIn > Special thanks to our sponsor: Center Grid Virtual Studio: https://cgvirtualstudio.com/
Water systems across the United States have become increasingly attractive targets for cyberattacks and more, raising serious questions about the security and resilience of our nation's critical infrastructure. In this episode of Infrastructure Files, we examine recent cyber incidents affecting water utilities, what officials know so far, who may be responsible, and what these attacks could mean for the future of critical infrastructure protection. This investigation is also part of a broader series exploring attacks on critical infrastructure, including power grids, communications networks, transportation systems, industrial control systems, airspace incursions, drone activity near sensitive facilities, and the evolving national security questions surrounding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). While many of these events have conventional explanations, others remain unresolved and warrant careful, evidence-based investigation.
This week I'm talking to Roy Teague about his book 'Close Encounters of the Police Kind - Incredible true stories of UFO sightings by British police officers' 'I swear by Almighty God that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.' Follow Inspector Roy Teague down the rabbit hole as he explores the intriguing world of UFOs and other inexplicable events, told by the most reliable professional witnesses, UK Police Officers. Close Encounters of the Police Kind is the first ever anthology of United Kingdom Police officer involved UFO sightings and encounters, written by a West Midlands Police Inspector, serving in their elite firearms operations unit. The majority of the cases are new, previously untold and involve not only UFO sightings and encounters but missing time and actual abductions involving sworn police officers. Inspector Teague has conducted numerous interviews with Police UFO witnesses over the last several years. From these interviews, he has obtained direct evidence of the officers' UFO and paranormal encounters bringing them out in the public domain. Many are speaking out for the first time. All have agreed to tell their stories. Each fascinating account in the book is for the reader to judge for themselves based on the evidence provided. UFO or innocent explanation? Bio Roy is a serving British police inspector. After 6 years in the army Roy joined the police and spent time as a fire arms officer. https://www.amazon.com/Close-Encounters-Police-Kind-Incredible-ebook/dp/B0H5WH1F8X https://www.youtube.com/@royteague/videos https://www.pastliveshypnosis.co.uk/https://www.patreon.com/alienufopodcasthttps://simonbown.com/My new book, Aspects of Alien Abduction https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GRRPCT9YZen AI bit.ly/zenAI_bpp_ufo Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. "Close Encounters With Jesus - 'Will You Help?'" - David Miller - Sermon 8.9.2026 by Orchard Audio Ministry
R. Keith Andrews is an author, researcher, and lifelong experiencer who has devoted years to exploring the connection between humanity and extraterrestrial intelligence. Through his own personal contact experiences and extensive research into UFOs, consciousness, and non-human intelligence, Keith examines the possibility that ET contact is far more common—and far more transformative—than most people realize. His work encourages people to look beyond the traditional UFO narrative and consider the profound spiritual, psychological, and evolutionary implications of humanity's relationship with the cosmos.Drawing from firsthand experiences, interviews with fellow experiencers, and years of study, Keith explores subjects including ET communication, consciousness, multidimensional reality, alien encounters, and the growing movement toward UFO disclosure. He believes the phenomenon is not simply about unidentified craft in our skies, but about expanding human awareness and understanding our place in a much larger universe. Through his books, lectures, and media appearances, R. Keith Andrews continues to inspire audiences to question conventional thinking and explore the deeper mysteries surrounding the ET connection.Spaced Out Radio is your nightly source for alternative information, starting at 9pm Pacific, 12am Eastern. This week on Bad Dads Film Review, we complete our accidental trilogy of “third things.” After covering Close Encounters of the Third Kind on the midweek show, we turn to Army of Darkness, Sam Raimi's third Evil Dead film, and use that as an excuse to dig into the noble, messy and often suspicious art of the threequel. There is no formal intro this week — time has apparently been attacked by Deadites — so we open with a catch-up on what everyone has been watching. Reegs has been busy with Backrooms, Obsession, Disclosure Day and Apple TV's Cape Fear, which gets a recommendation so long as you know going in that it is extremely ridiculous. Sidey has finally finished The Pit, finding the second season weaker than the first but still worth the time, and has also watched Backrooms and started The Mandalorian. Dan has finished series five of Slow Horses, which he continues to push as an absolute treat, and has also seen The Odyssey at the cinema, where three hours apparently went by surprisingly quickly. That leads us into the usual wandering preamble: 4DX screenings with shaking seats, water and wind; panoramic side-screen cinema formats; the Sphere in Vegas; Sidey somehow still not having made it to IMAX; Spider-Man: Brand New Day and big cinema opening weekends; Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal on Hot Ones; and the general horror of people getting overconfident with hot sauce before reality arrives in liquid form. The Top 5 this week is third films in a franchise, which gives us one of those lists where genuinely great films sit shoulder to shoulder with absolute nonsense. Dan opens strongly with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, a film that swept the Oscars so hard it practically brought its own broom. Sidey goes for Toy Story 3, remembering Lotso, Spanish Buzz, the daycare escape, the furnace sequence and the emotional finality of Andy giving up his toys. Reegs makes a spirited defence of The Matrix Revolutions, arguing that its uneasy truce ending and refusal to give everyone a simple victory has aged better than its reputation suggests. From there, we move through Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, with Sean Connery, River Phoenix and the Holy Grail; The Bourne Ultimatum, which Sidey remembers as peak Jason Bourne closure and kinetic shaky-cam action; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, praised by Reegs for Rocket's unexpectedly emotional backstory; The Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult, because Frank Drebin remains Frank Drebin; and Die Hard with a Vengeance, which gives Sidey an excuse to talk about Zeus, Simon Says, Jeremy Irons and New York puzzle chaos. There are plenty of other third-film detours too, including RoboCop 3, Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Alien 3, John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, Back to the Future Part III, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, the Cornetto trilogy, Avengers: Infinity War, Blade: Trinity, Karate Kid Part III and Ocean's 13. Sidey bends the rules by choosing the third episode of Twin Peaks, “Zen, or the Skill to Catch a Killer,” while Dan lands on Before Midnight, the third film in Richard Linklater's Before trilogy.Eventually, we arrive in 1300 AD for Army of Darkness itself. Dan has not seen it, but has correctly gathered that this is not really the same kind of horror film as The Evil Dead. Reegs, who has seen it many times, explains the tonal journey of the series: the first film as bleak, grimy horror; Evil Dead II as a genuine horror-comedy masterpiece; and Army of Darkness as the point where Ash becomes the full cartoon version of himself — part action hero, part idiot, part Bruce Campbell chin-delivery system. We talk about Sam Raimi's direction, Bill Pope's cinematography before The Matrix, Danny Elfman's contribution to the score, and the way Raimi's visual energy clearly echoes forward into later filmmakers such as Edgar Wright. The plot is gloriously simple and gloriously stupid: Ash is dragged through time after Evil Dead II, lands in the middle of a medieval conflict between Lord Arthur and Henry the Red, gets thrown into a pit, fights Deadites, reclaims his chainsaw hand, introduces everyone to the boomstick, and immediately becomes insufferable once the locals start treating him as their prophesied saviour. The film then sends Ash off to retrieve the Necronomicon, with one very clear instruction: say the words “Klaatu barada nikto” before taking the book. Naturally, Ash being Ash, he half-remembers, fudges it and unleashes the titular army of darkness. Along the way we get the windmill sequence, tiny mirror Ashes, Three Stooges slapstick, bad Ash splitting out of good Ash, Sheila falling for exactly the worst man available, and a castle siege finale full of skeletons, homemade weapons, a modified car and Ray Harryhausen-style chaos. We also get into the two endings: the darker UK/director's cut version, where Ash takes too many drops and wakes up in a ruined future, and the more crowd-pleasing US S-Mart ending, where he returns to work, tells the story and gets one last heroic Deadite showdown. Reegs prefers the bleaker ending because it feels funnier and more in keeping with Ash's ability to mess up almost everything. The verdict is affectionate, even if slightly qualified. Reegs still thinks Evil Dead II is the one to watch if you only watch one Evil Dead film, and he does not think Army of Darkness is great in quite the same way. But it is funny, quotable, inventive and packed with cult moments: the boomstick, S-Mart, “primitive screwheads,” bad magic words, skeleton armies and Bruce Campbell at maximum Ash. Sidey thinks Dan would probably enjoy it, describing it as something like The Princess Bride with Ray Harryhausen effects and comedy horror nonsense thrown in.So the final recommendation is simple: if you only watch one, Reegs says watch Evil Dead II. If you ask Sidey, just watch them all.You can now text us anonymously to leave feedback, suggest future content or simply hurl abuse at us. We'll read out any texts we receive on the show. Preston Dennett and Dolly Safran are two of the most recognized voices in the study of UFOs, extraterrestrial contact, and the experiencer phenomenon. Preston, a prolific author with more than 30 books on UFOs and the paranormal, has spent decades documenting eyewitness accounts of UFO sightings, alien encounters, healings, and contact experiences. Dolly, an outspoken lifelong experiencer, shares her own extraordinary accounts of ongoing interactions with non-human intelligences, offering a firsthand perspective on ET communication, consciousness, and the evolving relationship between humanity and extraterrestrial visitors. Together, they explore the growing body of evidence suggesting that contact with non-human intelligence is far more widespread than many realize. As public interest in UFO disclosure continues to grow, Preston and Dolly examine the complex subjects of alien abduction, voluntary ET contact, government secrecy, and the changing global conversation surrounding unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). Drawing from decades of research, interviews, and personal experience, they discuss the emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of contact while exploring what official disclosure could mean for humanity's future. Their work challenges conventional thinking and invites audiences to consider the possibility that humanity has never truly been alone.Spaced Out Radio is your nightly source for alternative information, starting at 9pm Pacific, 12am Eastern. This week on Bad Dads Film Review, the dads look to the skies for Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a film packed with UFO classifications, mysterious lights, mashed potato mountains, musical alien communication and one of cinema's more questionable parenting decisions.Sidey begins by digging into what a “close encounter of the third kind” actually means, using J. Allen Hynek's UFO classification system as a guide. The dads move from first and second kind sightings into the third kind itself, before noting that later fourth and fifth kinds make parts of Spielberg's film feel even stranger in retrospect. From there, the conversation follows the film's global mystery: missing aircraft in the Sonoran Desert, the SS Cotopaxi, Bermuda Triangle mythology, air traffic controllers who definitely do not want to file an official UFO report, and Claude Lacombe's calm international investigation. The episode then turns to Roy Neary, whose roadside encounter with the impossible changes him completely. The dads talk through the power outage, the lights, the shaking truck, the radio interference and the physical burn that marks Roy's experience as more than just a sighting. What follows is one of Spielberg's most famous depictions of obsession, as Roy becomes consumed by an image he cannot explain: first in shaving foam, then in mashed potato, and eventually in the enormous Devil's Tower model that takes over his family home.Barry's abduction also gets plenty of attention, partly because the sequence remains so unsettling and partly because Dan remembers the repeated cry of “Barry!” as one of those film moments that became permanently lodged in family folklore. The dads discuss Spielberg's clever methods for directing such a young child, the way Barry's toys come to life, and the strange mixture of fear and wonder that runs through the whole sequence. As the film moves toward Devil's Tower, the dads dig into the bigger ideas underneath the spectacle. Close Encounters is a film about translation, interpretation and communication: people trying to understand languages, music, symbols, visions and experiences that do not fit ordinary life. Reegs picks up on the repeated non-verbal communication, while the group discuss how the aliens never feel like a straightforward invading force in the Independence Day mould. Spielberg's first contact is eerie and overwhelming, but also curious, musical and strangely hopeful. The final act gives the episode its big Spielberg moment: the government cover story, the fake contamination zone, the secret landing site, the five-note musical conversation, the glass-shattering alien volume and the mothership reveal that still looks astonishing nearly fifty years later. The dads also touch on production trivia, including model details, Easter eggs such as R2-D2, and the famous Spielberg/Lucas percentage swap between Close Encounters and Star Wars.Naturally, the Bad Dads courtroom saves its harshest scrutiny for Roy boarding the alien ship. Is he a terrible dad for abandoning his family, or does his altered mental state earn him some kind of cosmic mitigation? Sidey is ready to place Roy firmly in the Bad Dad category, while Dan offers a partial defence on the grounds that Roy has clearly been changed by forces beyond normal human control. Either way, it leads into a broader discussion of Spielberg's recurring interests in fathers, fragmented families, engineers, artists, music, communication and wonder. The verdict is a unanimous strong recommend. Nearly fifty years on, Close Encounters of the Third Kind still works as spectacle, mystery, family drama, spiritual science fiction and pure Spielberg awe. It is hopeful without being naïve, strange without becoming hostile, and still technically impressive thanks to practical effects, patient build-up and one of cinema's great mothership reveals. Roy may or may not get a full Bad Dad pardon, but the film itself absolutely gets a pass. You can now text us anonymously to leave feedback, suggest future content or simply hurl abuse at us. Jesus' invitation to "Follow Me" was more than a call to believe—it was a call to leave behind comfort, embrace discipleship, and join His mission. Looking at Mark 1:16–18, this message explores why Jesus chose ordinary fishermen, how He transformed their everyday skills into Kingdom impact, and why following Christ still requires wholehearted surrender today.

In light of the dismal Disclosure Day (2026), we return to two films that show Spielberg tackling alien visitation (or invasion) stories while at the height of his powers. Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) and The War of the Worlds (2005) are decades apart, yet united by a single image and devotion to their audiences. The first is as Disneylike as Pinocchio; the second conjures memories of 9/11. Both show domesticity under great strain as families and infrastructures break down; one ends with hope while the other simply stops. Incredible bumper music by John Deley. The War of the Worlds is based on H. G. Wells's 1898 novel, which you can purchase here. Please subscribe to the show and consider leaving us a rating or review. This week on Bad Dads Film Review, the dads head into deep space for Project Hail Mary — a Ryan Gosling-led Andy Weir adaptation about astrophage, reluctant heroism, alien engineering, musical communication and the most loveable rock-spider in modern sci-fi.What we coveredThe return to Podcast Mountain after a week off, with Sidey explaining why recent recording plans went slightly sideways.Sidey and Reegs seeing The Streets at Alexandra Palace, immediately considering Iceland, and generally having a far better time than Sidey later had in Malta.Malta being very hot, not especially relaxing, and a strong avoid unless you are on the picturesque ferry to Gozo.Family hotel movie nights, including a MonsterVerse run and the crushing parental disappointment of Raiders of the Lost Ark being switched off for being boring.Ryan Gosling news from Comic-Con, including Ghost Rider, Star Wars, and whether anyone can make Ghost Rider look good on screen.Gosling's range: Only God Forgives, Lars and the Real Girl, The Gray Man, blockbuster charm and oddball credibility.Andy Weir, The Martian, and why the dads respond to optimistic science-problem movies where clever people solve practical disasters. The central crisis: astrophage is eating the Sun's energy, reducing solar output and threatening Earth. The Hail Mary mission as humanity's last desperate throw, sent to Tau Ceti because that system appears mysteriously resistant to the astrophage problem.Ryland Grace waking from stasis with no memory, dead crewmates, a HAL-like computer and a beard that suggests deep-space personal care needs work. The flashbacks revealing Grace as a molecular biologist turned school teacher recruited by Eva Stratt to help understand astrophage. The moral ugliness of Grace not volunteering for the suicide mission, then being sedated and sent anyway after the intended crew are killed. The grim Earthside stakes: collapsing sunlight, food-chain panic, frightened children and governments handing Stratt extraordinary power.First contact with Rocky, the engineer from Erid whose own planet is facing the same astrophage disaster.Rocky's musical language, the translation process, and the dads' comparison with Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The two-ship friendship: different atmospheres, pressure barriers, xenonite tunnels and two scientists learning to trust each other through diagrams and experiments.Rocky's look: rock-like, spider-like, toy-like and somehow instantly endearing. The discovery of taumoeba, the organism that eats astrophage and offers a possible solution for both Earth and Erid.Rocky saving Grace at huge personal risk, then Grace choosing to use his remaining fuel to save Rocky when he realises Rocky's ship is in danger. The film's optimistic message: cooperation across species, cultures and worlds is the only thing that saves anyone.Grace ending up on Erid, teaching alien children about Earth, and the dads enjoying the full-circle return to teaching. The reported $200 million budget, worldwide box office heading toward $700 million, UK-built Hail Mary sets, and Gosling's likely “double bubble” as star and producer.Key moments / quotesSidey says “hopes were high for Project Hail Mary” because of the Gosling/Andy Weir pedigree.Dan explains the title through American football: the last desperate throw into the end zone. The dads note that Grace “didn't fucking volunteer”, which makes Earth's plan morally spicy even if the stakes are existential.Rocky's musical tones immediately bring Close Encounters to mind. The group enjoy the idea of a sci-fi film built around “scientist guy figuring shit out”.Cris appreciates that the film is warmer and more colourful than the bleaker spaceship sci-fi he usually struggles with.Sidey reads the Grace/Rocky relationship as a story about different worlds working together on the same problem.Cris highlights the happy ending, the little rock children and the satisfying “don't go back / actually he should go back” emotional turn.Sidey notes the film has done serious box office business against a huge production budget. The final verdict lands simply: “Strong? Strong. Strong. Yeah. Strong.”VerdictThe dads give Project Hail Mary a unanimous strong recommend. They respond to the Andy Weir problem-solving structure, Ryan Gosling's easy likeability, the film's optimistic tone, and especially Rocky — an alien sidekick/friend/co-scientist who turns the film from simple survival story into something warmer and more memorable. It is big-budget, accessible sci-fi with a hopeful streak: funny, emotional, smart enough to feel satisfying, and powered by the very Bad Dads-friendly idea that cooperation beats panic, even when the Sun is being eaten. You can now text us anonymously to leave feedback, suggest future content or simply hurl abuse at us. America's First Alien Contact Wasn't Roswell!Six years before Roswell, something came down over Cape Girardeau, Missouri — and the government made sure you never heard about it. This week we sit down with author and researcher Paul Blake Smith to dig into his book The UFO Bombshell Before Roswell: Missouri's 1941 Crash and Cover-Up.Paul walks us through the wreckage, the witnesses, and the powerful names tied to the cover-up — FDR, a young Senator Harry Truman, and even whispers of Einstein. We get into what allegedly happened to the recovered craft and its occupants, why the Freemason connections in the case run so deep, and how MO41 may have quietly set the stage for the country's reaction to Roswell six years later.Paul is the author of eight books, including the bestsellers President Eisenhower's Close Encounters and The Nixon-Gleason Alien Encounter. This is a deep one — bring your tinfoil hat.
Joining me for this episode are Robert Williams and Jacqui Thackway-Winn. Robert and Jacqui were part of a small group of people who in 2023 took part in an experimental magical project at Cley Hill in Wiltshire, England. Cley Hill is perhaps best known in fortean circles for being something of UFO hotspot, most notably ‘The Warminster Thing' in the 1960's. The magical project was part of an attempt by the group to develop a new practice they called ‘Meta Magic' and took place from January to December 2023, finishing on the Winter Solstice. A written record of their experiments, rituals and experiences was kept and has now been published by Liminal Gate Press as a book called The Magical Rites at Cley Hill. In the interview I initially talk with Robert and Jacqui about their backgrounds and how the idea for the yearlong magical project came about. We discuss why they chose Cley Hill, some of the rituals they used and experiences that resulted from that and what the ideas and goals were for Meta Magic. We conclude by talking about The Warminster Thing. You can find out more about Robert, Jacqui and the book at Liminal Gate Press. Government hearings. Whistleblowers. UFO disclosure. Alien claims. Christians calling everything demonic. But what if the real answer is far more complicated?Dr. Jonathan Kendall joins Brandon to explore the growing evidence surrounding UFOs and UAPs while challenging the simplistic explanations often offered from every side of the debate.Together they discuss government evidence, consciousness, high strangeness, extradimensional realities, ancient encounters, quantum physics, biblical worldview, and why the phenomenon may force us to rethink how we understand reality itself.Rather than choosing between "aliens" or "demons," this conversation asks whether we've been asking the wrong questions all along.Amazon - New Bookhttps://x.com/JKendallMDhttps://jonathankendallmd.com/
Steven Spielberg's long‑standing obsession with extraterrestrials has practically become its own cinematic signature. From the awe‑struck wonder of Close Encounters of the Third Kind to the tender magic of E.T., from the apocalyptic terror of War of the Worlds to the pulpy alien chaos tucked inside Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, he's spent decades gazing upward and asking what might be looking back. Now, in 2026, he returns to that cosmic frontier with a new film crafted alongside his longtime collaborator, legendary filmmaker and screenwriter David Koepp.IMDB offers only a single, enigmatic provocation: “If you found out we weren't alone—if someone showed you, proved it to you—would that frighten you?” It's a tease that reveals almost nothing, a whisper of a premise designed to stir curiosity rather than satisfy it. Spielberg has always loved mystery, and here he leans into it fully, letting the question hang in the air like a signal from deep space. What is clear is the strength of the cast. Emily Blunt anchors the film with what early buzz claims may be the most powerful performance of her career. She's joined by Spielberg regulars Colman Domingo and Eve Hewson, along with Josh O'Connor, Wyatt Russell, and Colin Firth—who reportedly devours every moment he's given. With an 80% score on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has landed as a solid, if not earth‑shattering, box office success in Spielberg's extraterrestrial canon. And now your co‑hosts dive in, exploring the movie's mysteries and debating whether the Grays finally step out of the shadows and into a podcast pick.
Dogman Encounters, Government Silencing, and High Strangeness: Inside Lance Hightower's Monster FilesIn this episode, we sit down with Lance Hightower—renowned cryptozoologist, host of the acclaimed Monster 911 podcast, content creator, and investigator with over a decade in the field. Lance has appeared on Travel Channel's The Alaska Triangle and collaborated with Wild Dream Films in the UK. A former healthcare professional with deep roots as an outdoorsman, hunter, and survivalist, he brings a grounded, compassionate approach to some of the world's most terrifying unexplained encounters.Through his nationwide Creature Report Hotline and Monster 911 (formerly Cryptid Brothers Investigations), Lance has documented thousands of eyewitness reports of Dogman, Bigfoot/Sasquatch, and other high strangeness phenomena from across the US and beyond. Today, he shares some of the most incredible, firsthand accounts from witnesses he's personally interviewed.A disturbing pattern emerges in many Dogman cases: witnesses and researchers are often visited by mysterious “government-type” officials who deliver stark warnings to stop talking about what they've seen. Are these representatives of known government agencies, a shadow government, or something even more unknown? In one chilling account, officials reportedly referred to these creatures as an “asset”—raising profound questions about what that could imply.Lance also opens up about his own extraordinary experiences, including a close encounter with a group of Dogmen and a recent paranormal event while staying in one of the UK's most haunted locations. With his trauma-informed interviewing style, Lance emphasizes support for witnesses, reminding them they are not alone.Whether you're a longtime cryptid enthusiast or new to these mysteries, this episode dives deep into eyewitness testimony, cover-up allegations, and the blurred lines between the natural and supernatural. Steven Spielberg is the most famous filmmaker alive, which is exactly why almost nobody actually understands him. Chris and Daniel use Disclosure Day, Spielberg's new alien chase thriller with Emily Blunt, to argue that the "safe, mainstream" reputation is a decades-long misdirection: underneath the crowd-pleasing surface is a genuinely weird, deeply personal artist who has been smuggling strange, uncomfortable ideas inside blockbuster packaging since at least Close Encounters. They trace it through Fabelman's casting David Lynch as John Ford, the theory that Kubrick handed Spielberg AI specifically because Spielberg's glossy reputation could disguise a bleak, unnerving film, and the moment James Lipton caught Spielberg off guard by connecting his parents directly to Close Encounters on camera. Disclosure Day itself is proving strangely divisive, and Chris and Daniel dig into why. They break down its Sugarland Express-style chase structure, an Emily Blunt performance that starts as broad comedy and quietly transforms into something much stranger, a train sequence built to feel genuinely dangerous rather than stylized, and the VFX work from longtime collaborator Matthew Butler. Along the way, a detour into Spielberg's actual filmmaking journey, from Close Encounters to Poltergeist to AI, makes the case that his reputation as the "obvious" director has always been the biggest misdirection in his own filmography. Almost 50 years ago, Steven Spielberg directed “Close Encounters of the Third Kind,” the story of an average man who discovers that humanity may not be alone in the universe. Over the decades, Spielberg has directed several movies about what would happen if humanity made contact with aliens. Would the aliens be kind like the title character in “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial”? Would they be cruel like the murderous aliens of “War of the Worlds”? And regardless of what the aliens were like, would we humans be ready to receive them? Spielberg returns to the question of whether we're alone in the universe, and what it might mean if we're not, with his new film “Disclosure Day.” Today, he sits down with Rachel Abrams, a host of “The Daily,” to talk about the film, and about what he has learned over five decades of making movies about aliens. On Today's Episode Steven Spielberg, director of “Disclosure Day.” Background Reading ‘Disclosure Day' Review: Spielberg Plays His Greatest Cosmic Hits What Steven Spielberg Taught Me About Fear, Catharsis, and Being Human Photo credit: Paolo Pellegrin/Magnum, for The New York Times Subscribe today at nytimes.com/podcasts or on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
