In my recent episode of the Blogger Genius Podcast, I had a conversation with Devin Schubert, a business coach specializing in leadership, team building, and innovation through a Christian lens. The episode dives deep into the strategic use of Facebook for building relationships and growing a business. Here, we break down the key takeaways and actionable advice shared during the episode. Optimizing Social Media Profiles Key Points: Profile Optimization: Devin emphasizes the importance of a well-optimized social media profile. This includes a clear and compelling bio, a professional profile picture, and a banner that communicates your brand's message. Pinned Posts: Utilize pinned posts on Facebook to highlight your story and the value you offer. A strong hook at the beginning of your pinned post can capture attention and encourage engagement. Actionable Tips: Bio and Banner: Ensure your bio succinctly describes who you are and what you do. Your banner should visually represent your brand and include a call to action or a tagline. Pinned Post Strategy: Craft a pinned post that introduces you, shares your mission, and invites followers to engage with your content. Use a compelling hook to draw readers in. Show Notes: MiloTreeCart Book a FREE 20-minute call with me Devin Schubert MiloTree Pop-Up App Join My Blogger Genius Email List Become a Blogger Genius Facebook Group All Blogger Genius Podcast Episodes Subscribe to the Blogger Genius Podcast: iTunes YouTube Spotify Building Relationships Before Selling Key Points: Value First: Both Devin and I stress the importance of building relationships before attempting to sell. People are unlikely to make a purchase or schedule a call if they don't know you yet. Engagement Over Sales: Focus on providing value through your posts to build trust and rapport with your audience. Actionable Tips: Content Strategy: Share valuable insights, tips, and personal stories that resonate with your audience. Avoid pushing sales too early in the relationship. Engagement Tactics: Respond to comments, ask questions, and engage in conversations to build a community around your brand. The Role of Facebook Groups Key Points: Community Building: Despite claims that Facebook groups are declining, Devin argues they remain a powerful tool for fostering community and engagement. Private Groups for Memberships: Use private Facebook groups for memberships to create a familiar and accessible space for your audience. Actionable Tips: Group Engagement: Ask engaging questions during the sign-up process to capture emails and nurture relationships. Tag new members in welcome posts and provide valuable content through videos and training sessions. Content Sharing: Regularly share resources, host live sessions, and encourage member participation to keep the group active and engaged. Engagement Strategies Key Points: Simple Communication: Devin highlights the importance of simplicity in communication and calls to action. Straightforward prompts encourage more responses and engagement. Creative Posts: Use creative and fun posts to spark conversation and engagement. Actionable Tips: Engaging Questions: Ask simple, intuitive questions that invite participation. For example, "What time do you see this post?" can generate comments and boost visibility. Fun Interactions: Create playful posts that encourage debate or sharing, such as asking whether a cup is half full or half empty. Long-Term Mindset Key Points: Patience and Consistency: Devin and I stress the importance of a long-term mindset. Building relationships and nurturing trust takes time. Avoiding Discouragement: Don't get discouraged by low engagement on business-related posts. Visibility is key, and silent observers may still be considering your content. Actionable Tips: Consistent Posting: Maintain a regular posting schedule to stay top-of-mind with your audience. Focus on Relationships: Prioritize building authentic connections over immediate sales. Trust and rapport will lead to long-term success. Email as a Central Tool Key Points: Email Marketing: While social media is great for attracting followers, building an email list is essential for nurturing relationships and maintaining control over communication. Lead Capture: Use Facebook to capture emails and grow your list. Actionable Tips: Lead Magnets: Offer valuable lead magnets, such as free guides or webinars, to encourage email sign-ups. Email Nurturing: Regularly send valuable content to your email list to keep them engaged and build trust. Content Repurposing Key Points: Master One Platform: Devin emphasizes the importance of mastering one platform before expanding to others. Repurpose Content: Repurpose content across different channels to maximize reach. Actionable Tips: Content Strategy: Focus on creating high-quality content for Facebook, then repurpose it for other platforms like Instagram and YouTube. Cross-Promotion: Promote your content across different channels to reach a wider audience. Call to Action Philosophy Key Points: Value Posts: Devin prefers to avoid calls to action in value posts, allowing the content to resonate without pressure. Strategic CTAs: Use calls to action in other types of posts to encourage engagement and interaction. Actionable Tips: Subtle CTAs: In value posts, include subtle calls to action, such as inviting comments or shares, rather than direct sales pitches. Engagement CTAs: Use clear and direct calls to action in posts designed to drive engagement, such as asking followers to join a group or sign up for a webinar. Building Trust Key Points: Engagement: Responding to comments and engaging in conversations builds trust and deepens relationships. Voice Messages: Devin finds voice messages more effective for building genuine relationships than text alone. Actionable Tips: Active Engagement: Make it a habit to respond to every comment and message. Show appreciation for your audience's participation. Personal Touch: Use voice messages in DMs to add a personal touch and build stronger connections. Conclusion This episode of the Blogger Genius Podcast offers a wealth of insights into leveraging Facebook for business growth. Devin Schubert's emphasis on mindset, consistency, and relationship-building provides a roadmap for bloggers and entrepreneurs looking to connect with their audience and drive engagement on social media. By focusing on providing value, maintaining a long-term mindset, and optimizing your social media presence, you can effectively use Facebook to achieve your business goals. In the latest episode of The Blogger Genius Podcast, I talk to Tammy Overhoff, food blogger at Organize Yourself Skinny and digital product shop owner at Reset and Flourish for a Part 2. You can listen to our first conversation on effectively selling digital products here. In today's episode we to delve into the intricacies of building effective sales funnels for digital products. Here are the key takeaways from our conversation, offering actionable advice and thorough explanations to help you create a successful sales funnel for your digital products. Understanding Sales Funnels A sales funnel is a step-by-step process that guides potential customers from initial awareness of your and your product to the final purchase. The goal is to create a seamless journey that addresses the specific needs and pain points of your audience, ultimately leading them to make a purchase. Key Components of a Sales Funnel Awareness: Attracting potential customers through content marketing, social media, and other channels. Interest: Engaging them with valuable content that addresses their needs. Decision: Offering solutions that solve their problems. Action: Encouraging them to make a purchase. She uses a five-day challenge as the entry point into her sales funnel. This challenge introduces participants to the concept of meal prep and its benefits for weight loss. Actionable Steps: Create a Free Challenge: Design a short, free challenge that addresses a specific problem your audience faces. For example, a five-day meal prep challenge for busy moms. Promote the Challenge: Use social media, email marketing, and your blog to promote the challenge and attract participants. Engage Participants: Provide valuable content and support throughout the challenge to keep participants engaged. Strategic Email Writing Tammy highlights the importance of crafting strategic emails that guide your audience through the sales funnel. She starts by mapping out the customer journey and considering what her audience needs to hear to take the next step. Actionable Steps: Map Out the Customer Journey: Use pen and paper to outline the steps your audience will take from initial engagement to purchase. Craft Engaging Emails: Write emails that are caring and supportive, focusing on leading your audience rather than pushing for sales. Incorporate Testimonials and Videos: Use testimonials and video content to enhance engagement and build trust. Review Email Statistics: Regularly review your email statistics to refine your strategy and improve performance. Frontloading Sales Funnel Work Creating email sequences requires upfront effort, but once the majority of the work is done, the system becomes automated. This allows you to focus on driving traffic into your funnel and monitoring audience reactions. Actionable Steps: Create Email Sequences: Develop a series of emails that guide your audience through the sales funnel. Automate the Process: Use email marketing tools to automate the delivery of your email sequences. Monitor and Adjust: Continuously monitor audience reactions and make necessary adjustments to improve performance. Advice for New Entrepreneurs Tammy offers three key steps for new entrepreneurs looking to create effective sales funnels: Analyze Audience Engagement: Look at email statistics to understand what content resonates with your audience. Identify Specific Pain Points: Dig deeper into the challenges your audience faces and create products that address these pain points. Generate Product Ideas: Use tools like ChatGPT to brainstorm product ideas that solve your audience's problems. Actionable Steps: Review Email Statistics: Analyze your email open rates, click-through rates, and other metrics to identify what content resonates with your audience. Conduct Audience Research: Use surveys, social media polls, and direct feedback to understand your audience's specific pain points. Brainstorm Product Ideas: Use AI tools and brainstorming sessions to generate product ideas that address your audience's needs. Creating an Opt-In An enticing opt-in is crucial for attracting potential customers. Tammy suggests creating a quick guide or a list of meal starters that help busy moms get dinner on the table quickly. Actionable Steps: Identify a Specific Problem: Focus on a specific problem your audience faces and create an opt-in that provides a solution. Create Valuable Content: Develop a quick guide, checklist, or e-book that offers immediate value to your audience. Promote Your Opt-In: Use your blog, social media, and email marketing to promote your opt-in and attract sign-ups. Upselling and Bundling Once the initial product is established, consider upselling or bundling additional products to provide comprehensive solutions to your audience's problems. Actionable Steps: Develop Complementary Products: Create additional products that complement your initial offering, such as workshops, e-books, or meal plans. Create Bundles: Package your products together to offer more value and increase the average order value. Promote Upsells: Use email marketing and sales pages to promote your upsells and bundles. Avoiding Overcomplication Tammy and I stress the importance of simplicity in the product creation process. New entrepreneurs should focus on smaller, manageable products that can be validated through audience feedback. Actionable Steps: Start Small: Begin with smaller products, such as e-books or workshops, that can be created quickly and easily. Validate Your Ideas: Use audience feedback to validate your product ideas before investing time and resources into larger projects. Iterate and Improve: Continuously improve your products based on customer feedback and market trends. Understanding Your Audience Knowing your audience is crucial when selling digital products. Tammy has found success with e-books and bundles, but emphasizes the need to nurture the audience over time. Actionable Steps: Build Relationships: Use email marketing, social media, and content marketing to build relationships with your audience. Provide Value: Continuously provide valuable content that addresses your audience's needs and pain points. Nurture Leads: Use nurturing email sequences to build trust and guide your audience through the sales funnel. Pricing Strategy Tammy discusses her pricing strategy, noting that digital products can be priced effectively to ensure profitability. For example, her ultimate bundle is priced at $89, with sales often bringing it down to $57. Actionable Steps: Research Competitors: Analyze the pricing strategies of your competitors to understand market trends. Test Pricing: Experiment with different pricing strategies to find the optimal price point for your products. Offer Discounts: Use sales and discounts to attract customers and increase conversions. Continuous Learning and Adaptation Building a sales funnel is an ongoing process. Once the initial setup is complete, entrepreneurs can learn from audience interactions and make necessary adjustments. Actionable Steps: Monitor Performance: Continuously monitor the performance of your sales funnel and make data-driven decisions. Learn from Feedback: Use customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments. Stay Updated: Keep up with industry trends and best practices to stay ahead of the competition. Conclusion This episode of the Blogger Genius Podcast provides valuable insights into the world of sales funnels for digital products. By focusing on audience needs, simplifying the product creation process, and continuously learning from customer interactions, entrepreneurs can build effective sales funnels that drive engagement and sales. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your existing strategy, the advice shared by Tammy and me offers a roadmap to success in the digital product space. The visual nature of food content makes Pinterest a potential goldmine for traffic. Consistency and a long-term strategy are crucial, and if you notice a particular type of content performing well, such as videos, it's time to double down on that approach. The Third-Party Cookie Conundrum The removal of third-party cookies by Chrome in 2024 is a hot topic. While it may change how advertisers interact with ad networks, it's important not to approach this shift with fear. Instead, be curious and informed. Ad networks like Raptive are exploring new technologies to maintain ad relevance and value, ensuring that the right ads reach the right audience while respecting privacy. Mindset Matters One of the most powerful takeaways from our conversation is the significance of mindset. Rather than succumbing to fear about the future, embrace curiosity and excitement for the opportunities that change brings. AI, for instance, isn't something to be feared but a tool to be harnessed for idea generation, writing enhancement, and keyword research. The Summit for Advanced Food Bloggers Megan and her colleague Melissa are organizing a summit specifically for advanced food bloggers, creating a space for collaboration and support. Using MiloTree Cart, they've set up an effortless payment and sales page system for the event, showcasing the ease with which digital products and services can be offered. Selective Learning and Growth As we navigate the food blogging community, it's essential to be selective about where we get our information and support. Surround yourself with positivity and a growth-oriented mindset. If you're interested in learning more about the summit, our podcasts, or how to leverage MiloTreeCart for your business, be sure to check out the links provided. As we step into 2024, the blogging landscape is undergoing significant change. With AI content creation becoming mainstream, alterations in Google search algorithms, and the phasing out of third-party cookies, bloggers are facing new challenges and opportunities. It's a crucial time for bloggers, particularly those in the food niche, to diversify their income streams. In this rebroadcast episode of The Blogger Genius Podcast, I delve into the inspiring journey of Natasha Levai, a gluten-free sourdough baker, food blogger, and creator of Natasha's Home. Natasha's story shows how embracing digital products and live workshops can be game-changing in this evolving digital era. Additionally, purchasing MiloTreeCart by the end of the year includes a free lifetime subscription to our MiloTree Pop-Up App, priced at $250. Natasha's Digital Product Journey Hungary-based Natasha Levai's story began with inspiration from an Eat Blog podcast episode hosted by Megan Porta. Despite time constraints, Natasha compiled her blog recipes into an ebook using Canva, keeping it simple and accessible. She priced her 16-recipe ebook at $9 and leveraged her engaged gluten-free baking Facebook group of over 22,000 members to promote it. The Power of Community and Niche Focus Natasha's niche focus on gluten-free sourdough baking has been instrumental in her rapid growth. Her community's engagement significantly boosted her ebook sales, mainly through her Facebook group. Expanding to Workshops After her ebook success, Natasha ventured into live workshops. Her first paid workshop, focusing on gluten-free baking techniques, garnered over $400. Natasha embraced the concept of “B-minus work,” focusing on delivering value over perfection. This approach, using simple tools like a phone and computer, made her workshop authentic and relatable. Looking Ahead: 2024 and Beyond As we navigate 2024's dynamic blogging landscape, Natasha's approach is more relevant than ever. With traditional blogging revenue streams evolving, live workshops and digital products offer a viable path for bloggers to adapt and thrive. Natasha's success is not just about earnings but also about building a stronger connection with her audience, offering them real value in these changing times. The Future of Blogging Natasha's experience and the growing importance of digital products and interactive experiences like live workshops underscore the need for bloggers to innovate. In 2024, with the digital landscape rapidly changing, such strategies are not just optional; they are essential for survival and growth. In conclusion, Natasha's journey highlights the resilience and adaptability required for bloggers in 2024. Her success with digital products and live workshops serves as an inspiration and a blueprint for others to follow. As we approach the end of the year, it's common to find ourselves reflecting on the past months. Sometimes, this reflection comes with a touch of shame and disappointment when we think about the things we didn't accomplish. However, what if we shift our focus from dwelling on missed opportunities to engaging in productive reflection?   In today's episode, Kristen unpacks productive reflection and how it involves more than a mere glance back; it's about sifting through the highs and lows of the year, identifying our favorite moments, and acknowledging our achievements.   Let's look at a few highlights: Ask yourself: What was your favorite thing this year? What are you proud of? What valuable lessons did you learn along the way? We assume we're entering the new year with a clean slate. However, the truth is we carry ourselves into the new year. The key is identifying the lessons learned and considering how we can evolve. Productive reflection isn't just about making resolutions; it's about putting action behind those resolutions. Give yourself permission to acknowledge your strengths and successes. This shift in perspective is crucial because constant rumination can make you feel like a victim of circumstance.   Productive reflection isn't about erasing the past but using what you've learned to forge a brighter future. It's about acknowledging achievements, confronting learned lessons, and propelling ourselves toward growth. Embrace the lessons, celebrate your victories, and enter the new year with a renewed sense of purpose and resilience.   Step into your greatness – no more playing small or hiding from your potential. Have you ever thought about how trimming trees relates to running a business? Kristen got us all thinking after chatting about tree pruning and uncovering surprising similarities between this necessary job and how we shape our businesses. This talk led to some eye-opening discussions, linking the process of pruning to smart business strategies and offering valuable lessons for everyone aiming to grow professionally.   Kristen's story about two trees holds invaluable lessons about pruning and the transformative power of speaking life into seemingly challenging situations. These lessons extend far beyond the realm of horticulture, offering profound insights applicable to our daily lives.   Let's look at a few highlights: The idea of 'cutting off things that look like they're working' might seem counterintuitive, yet it's a critical aspect of growth. It prompts us to consider what serves our present needs and what might hinder our future selves. The pruning season might be discomforting, but it's an integral part of the growth process—a process that nurtures stronger, enduring, and ultimately more fruitful outcomes. Kristen emphasizes the need to reframe our perspective on the phase we're in. It's not just the victorious seasons that define us; instead, it's our ability to navigate and grow through the challenging times that truly shape us. It's a reminder that by speaking life into our endeavors, exercising patience, and consistently putting in the effort, we have the capacity to build something that lasts—a testament to the power of intentional growth and nurturing.   The crucial takeaway is about persevering and speaking positivity into our efforts. It's a lesson in patience, self-care, and the understanding that growth takes time. Much like trees go through the pruning stages, we must make hard decisions, persevere through challenges, and have the patience to nurture what we are building. We often talk about the "why" behind our business, but do we take it seriously enough? Without a compelling reason to pursue your vision, it can feel like a chore. Your "why" is the fuel that keeps you going, even when things get tough. It's the emotional connection to your vision that makes it more than just a distant goal. Kristen goes deeper into the importance of establishing your vision and its direct correlation to the push-and-pull dynamic.   When the daily grind begins to feel exhausting and pointless, it's time to sit down with your future and your vision. To make your vision a reality, you need to be willing to invest in yourself. This means not only investing time and effort but also aligning your desires and priorities with your vision.   Let's look at a few highlights: A well-thought-out vision is more than just a vague idea of what you want to achieve. It's a clear and detailed picture of your desired future, something that resonates with you on a deep level. When you find yourself grinding every day, feeling exhausted, and questioning the purpose of your efforts, it's time to sit down and reevaluate your emotional connection to your why.  It's not just about marrying the vision; you must also marry the workload commitment. Are you willing to invest in yourself, both in terms of time and energy? How serious are you about making your vision a reality? If you find yourself in a constant state of push, it's time to revisit your vision, connect with it emotionally, and assess your commitment to the workload. By aligning your desires and priorities with your vision, you can shift from daily exhaustion to meaningful, purpose-driven action. We all have seasons in life when we feel the need to work on ourselves actively. It's an essential part of personal growth, and it's something that has been resonating with the women around me lately. The desire to be better versions of ourselves, especially when juggling motherhood and entrepreneurship, is a common theme.   In today's episode, Whitney unpacks Proverbs 31:28 and seamlessly reminds women that they aren't alone in the juggle of motherhood and entrepreneurship. A relentless pursuit of perfection leaves Whitney feeling like she can't win. Somewhere along the way, we've been prioritizing the wrong things. We've allowed ourselves to believe that our success in business should overshadow the success we achieve as mothers and partners.    Whitney hones in the power of shifting our perspective to caring for our homes first. But what does it truly mean to prioritize the health of our home? It's about facing the hard stuff head-on and following up with actionable steps. If you surround yourself with people who adopt a victim mentality, you'll find it challenging to break free from that mindset. Ultimately, the decision to go after your dreams, even when it feels like you're going alone, is a choice to live a life of growth. Embrace the journey of going alone because, in doing so, you open yourself up to the extraordinary life you deserve. You might spend your energy trying to convince others of the validity of your dream. You're exhausting yourself, attempting to gain support and validation from those around you. It's essential to realize that as you evolve and chase your dreams, you've changed. Your perspective and priorities have shifted. But here's the thing: Your dreams are valid, regardless of whether or not others acknowledge them Join us for a live 3-day training designed specifically for network marketers with ambitious aspirations, aiming to expand their teams and boost their earnings, all while sidestepping the usual recruitment hassles and exasperation. Whitney discusses the importance of connecting with the Holy Spirit in a unique way and the benefits of being intentional when seeking the company of like-minded women.   As a coach, Whitney is called to serve a specific group of women—those who seek to balance their roles as wives, mothers, and entrepreneurs while also learning to prioritize rest and rediscover their visions. Movies have the ability to motivate and inspire people in various aspects of life, including personal growth, overcoming challenges, and pursuing dreams. Movies often present narratives of triumph, resilience, and the pursuit of noble ideals, which can profoundly impact viewers and encourage them to apply those lessons to their own lives. For Whitney, movies provide inspiration and an ability to use the lessons from her favorite films in lessons from the Lord.   While movies may not directly align with reality, they can still offer valuable lessons and themes that resonate with Christian values. In today's episode, Whitney uses lessons from Cinderella the Live Action from 2015 and ties them perfectly with Proverbs 31:22. Whitney shares the lessons she learned throughout the movie.   Here are a few takeaways from today's episode: Ella demonstrates kindness and forgiveness throughout the movie, even in the face of mistreatment. Her willingness to show grace and forgive her stepmother and stepsisters aligns with how much the Lord loves us and the forgiveness he displays. Fear is a natural human emotion that often arises in the face of uncertainty, change, or potential threats. While fear can be overwhelming, we have the capacity to limit it. Just as the Proverbs 31 women did, "she has no fear for her household." Whitney brings listeners into practical ways we can experience but not live in fear.    In today's episode, Whitney invites listeners into a conversation on productive and unproductive thoughts but, more importantly, how instead of using affirmations, we can use anchoring thoughts to manage our minds. When we anchor our thoughts in God's thoughts, we shift our perspective from fear to faith, from doubt to trust. We remind ourselves that we are not alone in our struggles and that God's presence and power surpass any obstacle we may face.   By immersing ourselves in scripture and the Holy Spirit and surrounding ourselves in community we can become intentional with the thoughts we let into our mind. Still, more importantly, we can begin to allow our thoughts to mimic God's. Fear is inevitable, but when we encompass fear, we can use anchoring thoughts to manage it.      Anchoring Scriptures: Matthew 6: 25-34 Romans 12:2 2 Corinthians 10:5 2 Timothy 1:7 Jeremiah 33 Philippians 4:8    Listen to Peace on Purpose Podcast Ready to grow your business with a community that is rooting for you?
