What happens when God gives you a vision that no one else understands? In this powerful interview episode of Youth Worker on Fire, Doug Edwards talks with author, producer, and filmmaker Julie Castro, whose radical obedience to God's call led her to create the unique and spiritually moving film—I Am Life: Wonderment in the Womb. This week on Marketing Operators, Connor MacDonald kicks things off with a pressing question: “What does a modern CX team and workflow look like today?” From there, we dive into a growing debate across modern commerce - does CX actually drive growth, or is it still just a support functionJoined by Amit RG, co-founder and CEO of our show sponsor Richpanel, the team unpacks how leading brands are getting dramatically leaner with AI, why Tier-1 support is becoming fully automated, and whether CX should really sit under marketing or operations. Amit breaks down Richpanel's inspiration from Uber's self-service model, and what it looks like when support becomes proactive, scalable, and insight-rich instead of reactive and manual. This leads to a breakdown of the revenue-generating CX touchpoints you're not thinking about, sparked by McCoy's prediction that “a year from now we'll all be talking about generating LTV,” not just acquisition. The group digs into ideas like optimizing high-intent tracking pages with tools like Wonderment, founders jumping into ad comments, and turning warranty claims into upsell moments - with real-world examples from Ridge, Jones Road, Equinox, and even Cartier's luxury clienteling approach. The episode wraps with a look at how AI is reshaping DTC ops end-to-end - collapsing workflows, enriching agent decisions, and driving smarter, more efficient growth across the entire customer journey. If you have a question for the MOperators Hotline, click the link to be in with a chance of it being discussed on the show: https://forms.gle/1W7nKoNK5Zakm1Xv6Chapters:00:00:00 - Introduction00:06:21 - What Does a Modern CX Team Look Like?00:19:10 - The CX to Marketing Feedback Loop00:32:07 - Revenue-Generating CX Touchpoints00:45:13 - Is Shade Matching a CX Revenue Driver?00:57:06 - Using Founder Social Comments as a CX TouchpointPowered by:Motion.https://motionapp.com/pricing?utm_source=marketing-operators-podcast&utm_medium=paidsponsor&utm_campaign=march-2024-ad-readshttps://motionapp.com/creative-trendsPrescient AI.https://www.prescientai.com/operatorsRichpanel.https://www.richpanel.com/?utm_source=MO&utm_medium=podcast&utm_campaign=ytdescAftersell.https://www.aftersell.com/operatorsHaus.http://Haus.io/operatorsSubscribe to the 9 Operators Podcast here:https://www.youtube.com/@Operators9Subscribe to the Finance Operators Podcast here:https://www.youtube.com/@FinanceOperatorsFOPSSign up to the 9 Operators newsletter here:https://9operators.com/

As a sophomore at Pitt, I met Dave Revsine and if anyone told me that we would be colleagues 20 years later I would have signed up for it. Today, that is our reality at the Big Ten Network. As a host, Dave has always been impressive. Sharp questions, elite awareness and always seeking humanity. This week on Y-Option, presented by 76 keeping you on the GO GO GO so you never miss a beat, welcomed Dave Revsine so get to know the story behind one of the core voices of Big Ten Network. For Dave, it all began in Chicago. A kid turning down the TV volume, writing out the White Sox lineup, and calling the games into a tape recorder. It detoured through a year on Wall Street (his most miserable), then on to Texas, where he ran his own camera to cover the Cowboys of Aikman, Irvin, and Smith. Eventually, ESPN came calling. Then, in 2007, the Big Ten Network. On launch night, BTN handed Dave 45 seconds of live airtime. No one edited his script. No one vetted his words. They just trusted him. Two days later, BTN aired Appalachian State's upset over Michigan—and the network made history. In our conversation, Dave reflects on expansion, coast-to-coast Big Ten football, and what he trusts most as we head into Week 6. His answers are simple and powerful: Ohio State's defense, Oregon's completeness, Indiana's rise. Thanks for reading Y-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth! This post is public so feel free to share it.But what struck me most wasn't the analysis, it is the lens in which Dave sees the world of sports media. After decades in this business, Dave still lives with wonder. He hasn't lost the gratitude for doing what he once dreamt about as a kid with a tape recorder. He hasn't lost the kindness he was shown as a small-market reporter trying to cover the Cowboys. That's why this episode feels bigger than Week 6 in the Big Ten. It's about trust, preparation, and joy. Hope you enjoy.I'm off to Purdue for the first time to call a game on campus.Much love and stay steady,YogiY-Option: College Football with Yogi Roth is a reader-supported publication. In Part 2 (of 2) of our series on John 20, we return to the locked room where Jesus appears not in triumph, but in tenderness. This Mother's Day, we reflect on Thomas—the twin, the questioner, the one who names what so many of us carry: Unless I touch the wounds, I cannot believe. But Jesus does not shame him. Instead, Christ invites him—invites us—into the liminal space where wounds meet grace.Through Thomas's story, and through the witness of all who mother from their own woundedness, we glimpse a deeper truth: that faith can emerge from doubt, that healing begins with touch, and that even our broken places can become sacred portals. Blessed are those who mother, who mend, who believe without seeing—and who dare to reach for peace. Message by Pastor Jason Storbakken.

This book is the last one of the novellas, and we hate to say that we're relieved. Tara stated that she liked this book as much as she liked "Chaos," and that is to say she didn't really like it much at all. AJ just finds this book a bit silly, not to mention the fact that twice "talking to the dead" is mentioned and Eve rolls her eyes when EVE LITERALLY TALKED TO THE DEAD IN "POSSESSION IN DEATH!!" That being said, there are some funny moments in the book, so it is still an okay book from that standpoint. We both love when Roarke says the "didn't come down in the last shower of rain," and the end where Eve and Peabody are both under the influence after taking down the bad guy. Also, for some reason, Eve is a bit judgmental over the fact that one of the victims had "over a dozen bras," which to us seems a normal amount (and we're sure that Eve has WAY more bras/support tanks in her closet).

In this episode, we Review the Reviews of “Devoted in Death.” We knew they were going to be bad (for the most part). But we’re always surprised at how many people continue to read and review these books who clearly don’t like the characters, the writing, and essentially the series itself. We’ve decided it’s a kink…they get off on reading books they don’t like and then writing reviews talking about how the author needs to stop writing the books you hate. Makes no sense. But anyway… Among those are the people who said: “S&M and torture? Thanks but no thanks.” “I don’t pay for sloppy work. At all.” “Hate romance novels disguised as thriller.” “..this series really needs to end.” “…it seems like it’s always Christmas, about to be Christmas or just after Christmas.” “…extreme foul language used by Eve” Not to mention the review in all caps that said: “MORE OF THIS IRRITATING TREND OF TRYING TO MAKE EVE FUNNY – I JUST KNOW IT WAS VERY NOTICEABLE TO ME. AND, I DON’T LIKE IT…” Among the good reviews, we have: “I listened on Audio and as usual Susan Ericksen does a fab job!” “Pulpy fun, routine formula but well written…” “…the sizzling speed and urgency of the investigation keep the reader turning pages quickly.” Plus, we talk about a LOL moment that we missed on the last episode, Roarke metaphorically marks his territory with Eve, and we’re really upset to realize that we were hoping to read “Brotherhood in Death” next, but it’s actually the last novella of the series: “Wonderment in Death.” BOO!

Imagine a world where education isn't just about information but about inspiring awe—a spark that transforms learning into discovery. This episode of Learning Through Experience envisions this future where teaching and learning are more collaborative, experiential and empowering, for instructors and students alike. As my guest Jenny Frederick, director of Yale's Center for Teaching and Learning, emphasized in our conversation: “When experiences bring the conceptual to life—like, wow, I get it now—it can be a moment of wonder." Join us as we discuss the value of embracing ambiguity and equipping students with the skills to navigate uncertainty—a crucial capacity in our rapidly changing world. Beyond theory, we explore how disciplines bring unique strengths and shadows to the learning experience. When classrooms become spaces where curiosity sparks discovery and uncertainty fuels growth, we unlock the potential for truly transformative learning. Wonder isn't just a feeling; it's a force that drives connection, resilience, and creativity in education and beyond. Watch this episode on YouTube. Key Topics 7:51 Broad Horizons: The Value of Diverse Education and Career Exploration Heidi and Jenny explore the value of a broad education and exploring different career paths and discuss the metaphor of structure and function in chemistry and its relevance to teaching. 14:06 Normalizing the Learning Journey: The Mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning Jenny describes the Center for Teaching and Learning's mission to connect learning support and teaching support, and its efforts to encourage help-seeking behavior and normalize the struggle of learning. 21:05 The Student-Centered Shift: Instructors as Guides in the Learning Process Heidi and Jenny discuss the shift towards more student-centered approaches in teaching, and the role of the instructor as a facilitator or guide. 28:04 Cultivating Wonderment: Designing Relevant and Shared Learning Experiences They explore the importance of creating experiences that foster relevance, interest, and room for wonder, as well as the power of shared experiences in a co-created learning environment. 36:03 Interdisciplinary Insights: Equipping Students to Handle Ambiguity Jenny highlights the benefits of interdisciplinary programs and richer conversations, and they discuss helping students develop skills for navigating uncertainty and ambiguity. 45:04 Wrestling with Complexity: Naming Conventions and Tackling Hard Questions Heidi and Jenny explore the desire for quick answers and the value of wrestling with hard questions, as well as the importance of naming and taming disciplinary conventions to create more open learning. 54:01 A Vision for Experiential and Collaborative Education They envision a future where education is more experiential and collaborative, with the goal of making centers like Yale's obsolete by empowering the community. Ken Davis was one of my mentors in my early years. In Gatlinburg, my 2nd year with Youth For Christ / Campus Life, he came out to speak to over 2,000 students and staff.  Before he spoke the first night, he told how he was going to approach us for those 3 nights. Ken said… "But I believe you are ready now." He gave the invitation and over 500 students came to receive Jesus. He sent them to us counselors to receive Jesus and then he spoke to the rest of the audience. This was a monumental time for me as a spiritual leader. It was obedience to God's Holy Spirit that caused an awakening within those 2,000 students. I was never the same after that night.  My prayer is that God would cause an awakening through you... for the church, christian student organizations, and the community that you serve. _______________________________ Looking for a new student ministry resource? You can read my book “Burn Up Not Out: A Student Ministry Fire Builder's Guidebook” here: https://amzn.to/3PtBTIy Listen to more episodes from the Youth Worker On Fire Podcast here: https://bit.ly/3saDyYq _______________________________ EPISODE CREDITS Email us at: youthworkeronfire@gmail.com Hosted by: Doug Edwards Theme Song: "The One and Only" by The 808 : Listen to more at https://bit.ly/3FTYIAJ Intro/Outro Voiceover: Michael Helms : https://www.youtube.com/@MichaelTheSoundGuy  Edited by: Secret Roots Music House

Just 224 words long, Eric Carle's classic children's book, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar', was first published on 3rd June, 1969. Initially conceived as a "bookworm" eating through the pages, Carle's editor suggested a caterpillar for the central character, leading to a timeless tome that has sold over 55 million copies in 70 languages.  Carle's journey to becoming a renowned children's author began in his late 30s after a career in advertising. Despite a tumultuous early life, including being conscripted by the Nazis and later the US Army, Carle found solace in his unique artistic style, layering paint and tissue paper to create colourful, textured illustrations. In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly ponder why Carle's military history has not caused him reputational damage in the USA; trace his childhood memories and his father's love for nature in his writing; and reveal why George W. Bush misunderestimated our ability to decipher chronology … Further Reading: • ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar: 50 years of magical reading for children' (The Independent, 2019): https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/features/the-very-hungry-caterpillar-author-eric-carle-anniversary-50-a8937571.html • 'The Enduring Whimsy and Wonderment of Eric Carle' (The New York Times, 2021): https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/25/books/review/eric-carle-tiny-seeds-very-hungry-caterpillar.html?searchResultPosition=1 • ‘Eric Carle Discusses 50 Years of The Very Hungry Caterpillar' (Penguin Kids, 2019): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYwE8qALm9M #Books #60s #Inventions #US Love the show? Wine Talks believes in the story of wine. There is a colloquialism in the wine trade "Every bottle tells a story" which on the surface is correct....but sometime seems too trite. What is in the bottle is not just an expression of terroir (soil, weather, environment) but also an an expression of the accumulation of the winemkars experiences, passions, lifestyle and what he or she thinks the proper melange of all these elements should be. Stephanie learned this the hard way (but the proper way). The school of hard knocks is just that...take you lumps, learn from the expereince and move to the next adventure and she has had plenty.
