Amy Gottlieb has been living in conscious communion with God since 1995. In 1999 she stepped into ministry as a worship leader serving her local church. Within a couple of years, while still serving her local church she also began to travel as a public worship leader serving many different types of gatherings, retreats, conferences, youth camps, and other bodies of Christ. Since then she has grown in knowing God through many different expressions of ministry and spiritual gifts such as words of knowledge, prophecy, healing, teaching/equipping the body of Christ and much more. Along with being a traveling minister Amy has recently become the CEO of Wonderment. Wonderment is a resource of retreats and conferences focused on helping people embrace and live in the awareness of their union with Christ throughout all of life. I won't get into it but there has been a lot going on. And, as I mention in the episode, sometimes we hear a message at the right time. When I resumed editing and heard Sue talk, I was eagerly listening again and absorbing again. Two things to note:At the end of 2024, Sue closed Boss Mouse Cheese but as she posts on Instagram still teaches cheesemaking classes on her farm and she can still be reached via Instagram. This episode was recorded before the 2024 election and we both had hope in our voices. I know my voice has changed but I still have a little bit of hope. It is important to know when it was recorded though because, well, you'll hear. I don't know about Sue but my answer to who I admire would include what she said that day.I met Sue in London and a comedy and writing event. She isn't a comedian. She makes cheese. I'm cheesy. We got along and it was a joy to get to speak with her. Enjoy the joy and the podcast will be back with another chat soon. +++++ Find SueWebsite: https://bossmousecheese.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bossmousecheese/ +++++ More than Work Social Media: @morethanworkpod (Facebook, Instagram) and @rabiahcomedy (TikTok)Please review and follow anywhere you get podcasts. On this episode, We review the reviews of "Wonderment in Death." As you all know, this book wasn't one of our favorites, so, we are in the unusual position of not having a lot to say about the bad reviews on this one. BUT... we do go on a little rant about an author who gives the book a bad review and AJ goes on an even smaller rant about cilantro (which really has nothing to do with the books or the reviews).
This book is the last one of the novellas, and we hate to say that we're relieved. Tara stated that she liked this book as much as she liked "Chaos," and that is to say she didn't really like it much at all. AJ just finds this book a bit silly, not to mention the fact that twice "talking to the dead" is mentioned and Eve rolls her eyes when EVE LITERALLY TALKED TO THE DEAD IN "POSSESSION IN DEATH!!" That being said, there are some funny moments in the book, so it is still an okay book from that standpoint. We both love when Roarke says the "didn't come down in the last shower of rain," and the end where Eve and Peabody are both under the influence after taking down the bad guy. Also, for some reason, Eve is a bit judgmental over the fact that one of the victims had "over a dozen bras," which to us seems a normal amount (and we're sure that Eve has WAY more bras/support tanks in her closet).
In this episode, we Review the Reviews of "Devoted in Death." We knew they were going to be bad (for the most part). But we're always surprised at how many people continue to read and review these books who clearly don't like the characters, the writing, and essentially the series itself. We've decided it's a kink...they get off on reading books they don't like and then writing reviews talking about how the author needs to stop writing the books you hate. Makes no sense. But anyway...Among those are the people who said:"S&M and torture? Thanks but no thanks.""I don't pay for sloppy work. At all.""Hate romance novels disguised as thriller.""..this series really needs to end.""...it seems like it's always Christmas, about to be Christmas or just after Christmas.""...extreme foul language used by Eve"Not to mention the review in all caps that said: "MORE OF THIS IRRITATING TREND OF TRYING TO MAKE EVE FUNNY - I JUST KNOW IT WAS VERY NOTICEABLE TO ME. AND, I DON'T LIKE IT..."Among the good reviews, we have:"I listened on Audio and as usual Susan Ericksen does a fab job!""Pulpy fun, routine formula but well written...""...the sizzling speed and urgency of the investigation keep the reader turning pages quickly."Plus, we talk about a LOL moment that we missed on the last episode, Roarke metaphorically marks his territory with Eve, and we're really upset to realize that we were hoping to read "Brotherhood in Death" next, but it's actually the last novella of the series: "Wonderment in Death." BOO!
Imagine a world where education isn't just about information but about inspiring awe—a spark that transforms learning into discovery. This episode of Learning Through Experience envisions this future where teaching and learning are more collaborative, experiential and empowering, for instructors and students alike. As my guest Jenny Frederick, director of Yale's Center for Teaching and Learning, emphasized in our conversation: “When experiences bring the conceptual to life—like, wow, I get it now—it can be a moment of wonder." Join us as we discuss the value of embracing ambiguity and equipping students with the skills to navigate uncertainty—a crucial capacity in our rapidly changing world. Beyond theory, we explore how disciplines bring unique strengths and shadows to the learning experience. When classrooms become spaces where curiosity sparks discovery and uncertainty fuels growth, we unlock the potential for truly transformative learning. Wonder isn't just a feeling; it's a force that drives connection, resilience, and creativity in education and beyond. Watch this episode on YouTube. Key Topics 7:51 Broad Horizons: The Value of Diverse Education and Career Exploration Heidi and Jenny explore the value of a broad education and exploring different career paths and discuss the metaphor of structure and function in chemistry and its relevance to teaching. 14:06 Normalizing the Learning Journey: The Mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning Jenny describes the Center for Teaching and Learning's mission to connect learning support and teaching support, and its efforts to encourage help-seeking behavior and normalize the struggle of learning. 21:05 The Student-Centered Shift: Instructors as Guides in the Learning Process Heidi and Jenny discuss the shift towards more student-centered approaches in teaching, and the role of the instructor as a facilitator or guide. 28:04 Cultivating Wonderment: Designing Relevant and Shared Learning Experiences They explore the importance of creating experiences that foster relevance, interest, and room for wonder, as well as the power of shared experiences in a co-created learning environment. 36:03 Interdisciplinary Insights: Equipping Students to Handle Ambiguity Jenny highlights the benefits of interdisciplinary programs and richer conversations, and they discuss helping students develop skills for navigating uncertainty and ambiguity. 45:04 Wrestling with Complexity: Naming Conventions and Tackling Hard Questions Heidi and Jenny explore the desire for quick answers and the value of wrestling with hard questions, as well as the importance of naming and taming disciplinary conventions to create more open learning. 54:01 A Vision for Experiential and Collaborative Education They envision a future where education is more experiential and collaborative, with the goal of making centers like Yale's obsolete by empowering the community. Ken Davis was one of my mentors in my early years. In Gatlinburg, my 2nd year with Youth For Christ / Campus Life, he came out to speak to over 2,000 students and staff. Before he spoke the first night, he told how he was going to approach us for those 3 nights. Ken said… "But I believe you are ready now." He gave the invitation and over 500 students came to receive Jesus. He sent them to us counselors to receive Jesus and then he spoke to the rest of the audience. This was a monumental time for me as a spiritual leader. It was obedience to God's Holy Spirit that caused an awakening within those 2,000 students. I was never the same after that night. My prayer is that God would cause an awakening through you... for the church, christian student organizations, and the community that you serve. _______________________________ Looking for a new student ministry resource? Just 224 words long, Eric Carle's classic children's book, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar', was first published on 3rd June, 1969. Initially conceived as a "bookworm" eating through the pages, Carle's editor suggested a caterpillar for the central character, leading to a timeless tome that has sold over 55 million copies in 70 languages. Carle's journey to becoming a renowned children's author began in his late 30s after a career in advertising. Despite a tumultuous early life, including being conscripted by the Nazis and later the US Army, Carle found solace in his unique artistic style, layering paint and tissue paper to create colourful, textured illustrations. In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly ponder why Carle's military history has not caused him reputational damage in the USA; trace his childhood memories and his father's love for nature in his writing; and reveal why George W. Bush misunderestimated our ability to decipher chronology … Further Reading: • ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar: 50 years of magical reading for children' (The Independent, 2019): https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/features/the-very-hungry-caterpillar-author-eric-carle-anniversary-50-a8937571.html • 'The Enduring Whimsy and Wonderment of Eric Carle' (The New York Times, 2021): https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/25/books/review/eric-carle-tiny-seeds-very-hungry-caterpillar.html?searchResultPosition=1 • ‘Eric Carle Discusses 50 Years of The Very Hungry Caterpillar' (Penguin Kids, 2019): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYwE8qALm9M #Books #60s #Inventions #US Love the show? Our topic this week is Lupus and how doctors are frequently considered to be gaslighting the patients in their care. Our guest knows from first-hand experience that when you're relatively healthy, you tend not to think much about ‘wellness.' But when this slips away and lupus comes barreling in… your world gets rocked. That's why she wrote the book, The Girlfriend's Guide to Lupus, to help other women struggling with this chronic disease feel less alone and more empowered to take control of their health and manage their lupus. Amanda holds an Master's degree in counseling and owns Wonderment, a stress reduction and mindfulness training company. Oh, and Amanda and her oldest daughter both have lupus, which drives her absolutely crazy. When she's not planning her next travel adventure, she's drinking hot tea, walking her sweet dog in Raleigh, NC, and giving book suggestions to anyone willing to listen.

We've all been there- Your partner didn't take out the trash and now you feel like they don't care about the cleanliness of the home. The person you've been dating doesn't respond to a text all day, and now you're bitter and anxious thinking they ghosted you. Your significant other didn't do the thing you secretly wanted them to do that would have made you feel loved, so now you feel rejected. It's so human to make assumptions on other people's intentions, and when we default to negativity, it often isn't true and actually shows us where we have insecurities, unspoken desires, and feelings that need to be communicated. Witness a vulnerable live life coaching session with Chloe who was feeling unloved after her boyfriend didn't greet her the way she expected at the airport and see how leaning INTO the honest feelings you're experiencing is the best (and sometimes the only) way to unblock the flow of love in your life and in your relationship.

Wine Talks believes in the story of wine. There is a colloquialism in the wine trade "Every bottle tells a story" which on the surface is correct....but sometime seems too trite. What is in the bottle is not just an expression of terroir (soil, weather, environment) but also an an expression of the accumulation of the winemkars experiences, passions, lifestyle and what he or she thinks the proper melange of all these elements should be. Stephanie learned this the hard way (but the proper way). The school of hard knocks is just that...take you lumps, learn from the expereince and move to the next adventure and she has had plenty. Have a listen to her trek to the wine industry and her experiences on the inside. Meet Stepahine Cool.

Psyched by Mg with cohost Matthew Buryta will discuss the wonderment of the holidays and how it applies to everyone, not just for children.
Today we take a step back in time to the 1960's, and strangely, further onward ahead into a new world of climate uncertainty, in the spirit of the first Earth Day and a generation of logical dreamers who wanted to heal the planet before it was too late. We look back, and we look ahead with Clifford Humphrey, who became the first curbside recycler while still a student at U.C. Berkeley in 1968 and shortly thereafter in Modesto California where the business really took off. The Life Force of the Planet : Rebuilding our Homeworld

Welcome to Luna Aroma, where Aromatherapy meets the Moon. This 10th episode of Luna Aroma invites you to settle in and descend to the realm of liminal spaces, darkness and crossroads. Places and spaces where Persephone and Hecate among other archetypes may guide us. This is an invitation to revel in the marked transition from late summer's end to the bittersweet falling leaves of full-blown Autumn. Which brings us to root season, a time to harvest root medicine such as Ashwagandha, Valerian, Angelica and Cohosh. And get grounded with all of the root essential oils, notably Vetiver. Come along as my guest! I'll take you through seasonal themes, a guided aromatic meditative encounter and a poem I feel touches upon this moon-time's qualities. Although this time of year might bring slight sadness and longing with the increasing darkness and chill in the air, it also invites us to approach life with wonderment and curiosity.
