News and Notes About "Flip That Romance" Flip That Romance first premiered on March 16, 2019 as part of Hallmark's SPRING FEVER line up that year. This movie was directed by Mark Jean. Mark has directed 65 films - with an impressive amount of them being for Hallmark Channel. Some titles include Holiday Hotline, A Kismet Christmas, The Nine Lives of Christmas, and Love at First Dance. Jill Girling, Lori Mather-Welch and Nina Weinman are credited for writing “Flip That Romance.” Jill and Lori appear to be writing partners. They've worked on the same projects, including a Hallmark movie called “Love's Complicated” from 2016. Nina Weinman was brought onto the project for a re-write. Julie Gonzalo co-stars as Jules Briggs of Jules Briggs Design. Julie has 48 acting credits and e last saw her in “3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost” with husband Chris McNally. Outside of Hallmark, Julie has been in a number of projects including “Supergirl,” “Veronica Mars,” the reboot of “Dallas” as well as “Christmas with the Kranks.” Tyler Hynes plays Lance. While Tyler is a Hallmark Channel fan favorite, this was only his 3rd movie for the network. Since then, he either starred or appeared in 15 movies for Hallmark. Fiona Vroom plays friend Teri. Fiona has 73 acting credits including Hallmark hits like “Three Wise Men and a Baby,” “The Wedding Veil” and “The Wedding Veil Expectations.” Matthew Kevin Anderson plays Richard. He's one of those familiar faces that often pops up on Hallmark. With 101 acting credits, we've seen him in “Love and Jane,” “Lights, Camera, Christmas!” and “Love, Classified.” You might also recognize him for his work on Lifetime as well, his resume is full of Hallmark Rom-Coms and Lifetime Murdery fare. Fred Anderson plays Lance's dad, Ed. Finally, a dad who appears age appropriate versus the actor we saw play Tyler's dad in “Shifting Gears.” Fred has 155 acting credits. We last saw him in “Christmas on Cherry Lane” and “Mystery on Mistletoe Lane.” He also appeared in a movie we mentioned last week, “Totally Killer.” Related Podcast Episode: Girls Gone Hallmark review "Shifting Gears" Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe (commonly credited as Crystal Lowe) plays friend Kat. She recently directed Tyler in “Shifting Gears.” We are getting to know Crystal better as Rita in the SSD series - since we'll be dropping reviews all summer long for Sign Sealed Delivered Summer. Shannon Chan-Kent plays Elise. Shannon was last seen on Hallmark in “Field Day” - a Julie Sherman Wolfe movie we loved. I do wish she'd do more projects for Hallmark. Hallmark News - October 2023 TMZ reported that the Queen of Christmas Lacey Chabert recently reunited with Mean Girls co-stars Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried to film a Pepsi ad. Me thinks this might be a Super Bowl ad, maybe? Brant Daughtery announced that he and his wife, Kimberly, are expecting a second baby in early 2024. Daughtery will next be seen in this year's hardest to pronounce title “Joyeux Noel” on October 29th. We're starting to see posters for the Countdown to Christmas movies emerge! And commercials on Hallmark Channel. What do you think of the "Christmas on Cherry Lane" poster? About "3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost" Stars Julie Gonzalo and Chris McNally. These two are a real life couple - though I'm not sure if they are married. Seems like they are super private. They did have a baby in June 2022. Gonzalo plays Anna. She has 48 acting credits including Cut, Color, Murder from 2022. We last reviewed her for fan-favorite movie Pumpkin Pie Wars.  Chris McNally plays Elliott. The story is by Gregg Rossen & Brian Sawyer. The teleplay included both Gregg Rossen, Brian Sawyer, and Joie Botkin. Gregg Rossen has written a TON of Hallmark movies including The Professional Bridesmaid, The Winter Palace, The Santa Stakeout and more. In fact, his IMDB reads like he's only written Hallmark movies.  Brian Sawyer resume reads almost identical to Gregg Rossen.  Joie Botkin is one of our favorite Hallmark writers. Her next Hallmark film is the Tyler Hynes movie "Never Been Chris'd." Filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, in Canada — more precisely in Burnaby, which is located about 15 to 20 minutes outside of Vancouver.  The movie was filmed from June 12 to June 30, 2023. I am back after recovering from throat surgery. Thank everyone for the well wishes. I am grateful for the support. This week, there were no new movies from Hallmark, but they did start a new murder mystery this week titled Cut, Color, Murder starring Ryan McPartin and Julie Gonzalo. I have to say I am a rookie to Hallmark Mysteries. I never watched Aurora Teagarden, Picture Perfect Mysteries or Mystery 101. Lol. They just never caught my attention. But this was pretty good. I talk about the numerous times I found myself yelling at the screen "Don't do that? Are you crazy?" I dole out some medical advice that should be apparent, lol. and I talk about the cliffhanger in the end. Maybe Hallmark is giving this series an open ending in hopes that it continues. I give this 3 out of 5 stars. I like that the suspect wasn't who I was expecting, I like the twists and turns during the investigation, all of the actors were great in the series. I am also a huge fan of Julie. I am happy to see her on Hallmark again. It's been awhile. A LONG TIME AGO ON VERONICA MARS:  A thing happens that turned the Marshmallows into Burnt Marshmallows, turned Veronica into a widow, and turned our twitter mentions into a shitshow whenever we said anything even slightly critical of Logan. But before that: this season wraps up some plots! Dodie and Alonzo behead Richard Casablancas, with Matty looking on, and Clyde smiling the tiniest hint of a smile, even pauses on eating his sandwich for a moment. Matty sells the Maloof ring to fund the reopening of the Sea Sprite, the only bit left of the Old Neptune boardwalk, because Big Dick's plans to gentrify the town still happened even with him gone. Keith's medical problems are solved offscreen - just a bad combination of meds! He's back to Keithing around! Although he has to dump Clyde as a friend, although we thought he already did that last episode? Is it our memory that is on the blink? Denouement time: Penn's the bomber! Or is it murderhead Don? No, he's a last minute red herring, albeit a herring that has been murdered in an abandoned power plant and made to look like a suicide, and the bomber is definitely Penn and the Marses are stuck in a remote location with him - wait, wasn't that last episode? Seriously got to get the doctor to check our memory... Tick tick tick can the Marses find the limerick bomb in time? Yes! Keith is the town hero once more, after defusing the bomb Penn had planted at Kane high school.  But oh no, that's not Penn's last limerick or his last bomb; and after a quick pitstop for a Loganica wedding, Chekhov's “don't forget to move your car for street cleaning” blows up and takes Logan with it. And Veronica, at last, goes to therapy, and leaves Neptune. Join Jenny Owen Youngs and Helen Zaltzman to investigate Veronica Mars season 4 episode8: Years, Continents, Bloodshed, and get stuck into such mysteries as why the show didn't choose Jenny's sexier alternative ending, or Lo's sexier abandoned power plant, or Helen's Big Dickier decor for Big Dick's house. This week in continuance of Hallmark's Christmas in July, I did a LIsteners' Choice Poll: Diversity Matters theme in celebration of Hallmark's conscious decision to diversify its cast and storylines. Despite the low participation in the poll, listeners' choice was none other than 2020's Christmas with the Darlings starring Katrina Law and Carlo Marks.  During this podcast, I took a moment on top of the soapbox and talked about my disappointment in the homophobia in the fanbase. I received some very disappointing pushback with this week's poll because holy crap, I wanted to celebrate Hallmark channel finally being inclusive to the LGBTQ community. And then don't even get me started on the HORRIBLE response from the Hallmark fans about The Good WItch historic kiss between Zoey and Joy. There are many positive responses from the fandom, Team Joey is still strong, but boy is the homophobic response loud and shameless. But anyway I also highlight the history of hallmark white washing their storylines and the actors. Only just recently, POC actors such as Julie Gonzalo and Katrina Law is having their cultures recognized in their roles, Julie speaking spanish to her Hispanic family in Jingle Bells Bride and Katrina sneaking in some Mandarin in this movie.  These are all steps Hallmark Channel has taken in their quest for inclusivity and diversity. And it should be celebrated. So back to Christmas with the Darlings. I love this movie. Max is the perfect man, and Charles is the horrible villain. Lol. Kids are cute. And the message is clear in this movie. Family First. You can listen to the podcasts in all platforms, Apple Podcast, Google Play, Spotify, iHEart Radio, Tune-in+Alexa, Pandora and Youtube. Veronica’s search for the sex tape culprit takes her from Piz to Logan to Dick to Chip to some other asshole Dominick to some other other asshole Gory to the secret society The Castle to JAKE KANE!?!?! Of course, to cap a season that began with the Stanford Prison Experiment, we get the Milgram Experiment; and, unfortunately, it is performed on Wallace as he helps Veronica investigate the Castle. Veronica breaks into what turns out to be Jake Kane’s new lonely bachelor mansion, steals his hard drive, but leaves a shred of her sweater snagged on the doggy door she shimmied in through, and is caught on the neighbour’s security tapes. Keith destroys the security footage of Veronica - and maybe also his chances of winning the sheriff election. Did he win?? Find out next epi- oh but then the show was dormant for seven years. Happy Hallmark Day..aka Valentine's Day! Who needs flowers or chocolate when we've brought you a bonus episode featuring our favorite Hallmark movie: The Sweetest Heart , starring Queen Julie Gonzalo. When your cupcake cafe is struggling to stay afloat with no customers and a broken oven, the only way to save it, of course, is to expand to a space twice the size. But what if your hunky high school boyfriend returns to town (and he's a doctor!) to teach a once-a-week class about heart surgery bedside manner? Let's just say the cappuccino machine isn't the only one getting hot and steamy in this story! But we have questions: How many cupcakes is the investor woman planning to eat? Exactly who is Charlie the PA (not Charlie the host) thirsty for? Can someone become a heart surgery lecturer by the age of 30? Do you have to tell an investor about your business loans? How long is too long to be upset that someone you went to high school with but didn't really know doesn't remember you? Why is town hall always in trouble? Where do we get some of these amazing-sounding cupcakes (wait until you hear the flavors)? Also, find out who gets the Oscar...you might be surprised! See who we would be in this movie (Mary let us have two characters each). And we reenact our favorite Julie Gonzalo moment. This movie came out in 2018, but it airs frequently on the Hallmark Channel. Make sure to set your dvr for the next airing.

NEW EP! It's Spring Fever, y'all and HNA is bringing you Flip That Romance with Julie Gonzalo and Tyler Hynes. Jules Briggs and Lance Waddell used to be a thing...two years ago...until their flip project went flop and Lance ran for the Portland, OR hills in search of solo fame and fortune as a... contractor. But when the paparazzi didn't flock, Lance came crawling back to daddy's business in Bedford where he ends up, once again, faced with a still-salty Jules. Not so coincidentally, the two end up buying separate sides of a duplex, which turns into a huge pissing match and legit wager as to who's side will sell first and for the most cheddar. When a local design magazine gets wind of the competition (and past romantic history), the whole thing gets propelled into overdrive and while the timeline for their flip shortens, Jules and Lance start to remember - despite tons of bitter rehashing, complaining and other childish shenanigans - why they should probably just bury their paintbrushes and grow old together in Bedford. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
