Roy L Hales/ Cortes Currents - While she recognizes DRIPA as a valuable document, MLA Anna Kindy recently informed the SRD Board that she does not support ‘article 26.' The topic came up when she took part in the May 26 Board meeting. Kindy began by stating, “ Part of the reason I'm here is to actually learn how things are run. I'm not going to pretend I know everything, far from it. It's a steep learning curve, but my motivation is to truly represent my constituents. I ran for a party, but I'm apolitical now that I am an MLA, I just look at issues separately and try to bring people's voices to the legislature, to whoever it needs to be brought to. I'm not a public speaker by nature, but I do answer questions very readily, so I'm just going to pass it over to you guys if you have any questions." Regional Director Mark Vonesch, of Cortes Island, responded, “My question is about Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People's Act (DRIPA). During the election, your leader spoke about dropping it and since then, members of your party have denied the graves that have been found in some residential schools. That's raised a lot of concern and I'm just wondering if you could comment on that.” Anna Kindy: “Okay, first of all, let's go back to the first question, DRIPA. You have to look at unintended consequences of every bill that passes. UNDRIP is from the United Nation and we are the only, and I will repeat the only jurisdiction worldwide that has adopted it word per word (as DRIPA).” “Most of DRIPA is fine, I'm a hundred percent for economic reconciliation. What we've done is terrible and we need to reconcile what we've done. It's about treaties, it's about economic reconciliation. What DRIPA does, if you look at section 26, there's a question of what will be the private property rights of every British Columbian.” Article 26 1. Indigenous peoples have the right to the lands, territories and resources which they have traditionally owned, occupied or otherwise used or acquired. 2. Indigenous peoples have the right to own, use, develop and control the lands, territories and resources that they possess by reason of traditional ownership or other traditional occupation or use, as well as those which they have otherwise acquired. 3. States shall give legal recognition and protection to these lands, territories and resources. Such recognition shall be conducted with due respect to the customs, traditions and land tenure systems of the Indigenous peoples concerned. Anna KIndy: “The entire aspect of crown land will be under the jurisdiction of 4% of the population potentially to make decisions and I am of the opinion that we all have equal rights. We are all Canadian.” “Economic reconciliation means that we need to make sure that we lift First Nations out of poverty. In this region, what that means is to support industries that are lifting them out of poverty. I'm an addiction doctor. If you look at the GNN nation (Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw Nations), they had 10 or 11 overdoses and suicides in a two month period in 2024. So this is urgent, I don't talk about semantics.” “The issue is section 26. This is in a democracy and we're an equal society, we all should have the same rights.”

Roy L Hales/Cortes Currents - Anna Kindy was sitting in her Campbell River office. Her assistant stood almost out of the frame long enough to wave, before handing Kindy a headset and disappearing. The thing I find refreshing about Kindy is she doesn't sound like a politician, which is understandable because she only recently became one. She and her husband are both doctors. Anna Kindy was elected as the MLA for North Island on October 19, 2024 and is the Health Critic for the Conservative party Shadow Cabinet, but has yet to sit in the legislature. This fact emerged when I asked her about the trips between her home in Merville and the legislature. Anna Kindy: “ The NDP didn't call the house. We had no sitting which is unusual, currently there's a lot of crisis that needs to be dealt with. The first sitting will be February 18th.” Cortes Currents: The legislature hasn't met in how many months? Anna Kindy: “Well apparently, if you look back, it's since May because usually they don't run the legislature during the summer.” Cortes Currents: The NDP government dropped the writ for the last election on September 21, 2024, four months after the last sitting. The legislature will have had a 278-day break when it reopens on February 18. Anna Kindy: “Our party did FOIs (Freedom of Information requests) to see what kind of meetings they we're doing. To me it seems almost unconscionable that you're not at work when you've been elected and part of work is becoming accountable, sitting in the legislature to make sure that you respond to the questions that the electorate has and move forward on policy that might improve certain things.” Cortes Currents: How many times have you been to Victoria? Anna KIndy: “Since October 19th, I think twice. Around February 12th to 14th we have MLA school and then on February 18th, the house starts.” Cortes Currents: Are your relationships with the NDP frosty? Anna Kindy: “I don't think. From what I hear you still talk to each other, but once it comes to the Ledge gloves are off, but behind the scenes, you try to make things work.” Julie Osborne is a former mayor of Tofino and was first elected in 2020. She was appointed Minister of Health in November 2024 - courtesy BC Government News “For example, with this specialist group that I met , they try to get a hold of the Minister of Health, Josie Osborne, and for some reason they weren't able to get through. Which surprises me a little bit, but I think she's very busy and there's probably layers of bureaucracy that they have to approve. They've talked, I think, to the Deputy Minister and they still didn't get through.” “So my job will be two things. I want to talk to her personally if I can, say, ‘hey, these are the specialists of BC.' I probably would listen to what they have to say and then if that doesn't happen, I bring forward what their concerns are - bring it forward so that people are people at BC are aware. That's my job as a critic.” “I've been pretty full on since being elected, to be honest.”

Kate Hall's tips for a sustainable Christmas Day: + Bring reusable containers with you for food leftovers (pop them in your car/bag) + Consider your transport - could you carpool with other family members? Or would biking help to avoid Christmas day hectic traffic? + Salvage the wrapping paper to keep for next year! (Kindy parents – use up all those paintings...) + If you compost at your home, bring a sealed bucket or jar to take home compost scraps (if they place your visiting doesn't have a compost) + Attend events with intent: consider how you're going to connect with the people, what you want out of the event, and remember 'busy' is an attitude - avoid it. Roy L Hales/Cortes Currents - t has been three weeks since Anna Kindy was sworn in as the Conservative Party MLA for North Island riding. We actually had a long phone conversation shortly after her election, but this has been a very busy time for Ms Kindy and so we agreed to do the interview on December 3, yesterday. As I didn't get an opportunity to interview her during the election, it's probably best to start at the beginning. “As an MLA, I represent everyone in this constituency. It doesn't matter if you voted for me or not, I represent you and I'll do it to the best of my capacity. I have to look at what the issues are in my riding and how to address them,” she said. Cortes Currents: Why did you run for office? What was the inspiration? Anna Kindy: “It wasn't in the cards a few years back, like two or three years ago. I wasn't even thinking of running for the office, but I was seeing so many things going sideways. I've always been politically aware, so I decided to stop complaining and do something about it. So I threw my hat in.”

If you think you are in the wrong place, you probably are.In 25 parts, edited from the works of FinalStand.Listen and subscribe to the ► Podcast at Connected..“Believing in yourself is not enough. You must impress that belief upon the Universe.”(Monday)My pain was legendary. Fine, my pain was epic. Okay, my pain was really bad, only exacerbated by a busy weekend. Sunday had started out fine. The girls hadn't minded being cooped up in my place for half of the day. We all worked out in the morning, which Nikita found odd. Then the young ladies explored a 'man pad', which was totally new.Loraine and Nikita developed a complex relationship. Nikita was martial enough, older and far more worldly. They conflicted over me; Loraine wouldn't accept that she'd never conquer me and Nikita was stymied by the Amazon creed involving men. Europa bonded with Timothy in all kinds of odd ways including the exploration of the world of tattooing.Aya discovered a new favorite position. I had lain belly-down on the sofa while Nikita gave me a back rub. Right after she was done, Aya climbed on top of me, laid her stomach on my back and relaxed, soaking up my scent and warmth. Only when we got them home did Loraine whisper to me that she'd never seen Aya that calm and at peace for such a continuous amount of time. That warm fuzzy, along with Nikita being downright sympathetic and attentive for the rest of her stay rolled right into Timothy's and my date Sunday night. That ended up in a 'bizarre unless you are me' frolic late Sunday night. Timothy was a fun time for Nadia, Ulyssa's older sister, then finished up their date by pretending to pass out back at their place.I'd seen Timothy drink steadily for four hours with barely a buzz. Still, that ended up with Ulyssa, Nadia and I in a three-way until one in the morning. That was when Timothy pretended to wake up and call out my name. The ladies and I wrapped up the sex session quickly and 'us' guys departed because, ya know, we had work in a few hours.Timothy even changed my bandages again. I gave him a few bills to up our medical supplies. He took a few more from my wallet because he prophesied me being wounded would be a common occurrence. He followed that up by giving me a bear hug and a kiss on the cheek."You are a lifesaver, Bro," he sighed. "My break-up left me really down and you've restored my faith in life and love. Keep it up." Then we both went to bed.I followed that up with an early wake-up call from Katrina telling me to show up thirty minutes early and report to the Medical Division. That led me to biking, one legged, through the city (Nikita and I had retrieved my bike Sunday afternoon) by dawn's early light and reporting to the witchdoctors at Havenstone. Thus my legendary, epic, really bad pain. The Doctor at Doebridge had practiced traditional Amazon healing methods. The cute chick who escorted me into the Medical Division had actually heard we were in the 21st century. She sat me on a gurney in what passed for a modern Emergency Room and had me take off my pants. Then she asked me if I wanted pain-killers, or a local anesthetic."No, I'm a man," I bragged. I saw the bewilderment in her eyes. Was I saying 'no', or was I claiming to be a weak, frail male? "It is too late for your people to be nice to me now," I clarified. "You are monsters and I accept that, so let's get this over with so we can get back to our jobs.""What are you talking about?" she tried to be disarming. Could it be she wasn't a full-blooded Amazon?#To ease my pain, show me your bountiful bosom# I said in Old Kingdom Hittite. The nice, young doctor blinked. She knew of the lingo, but not the speech itself."No on the anesthetic," I sighed. "Please work professionally and quickly so we may return to our duties, Doctor.""Of course. I'll be right back," she nodded then headed off to 'get some supplies'; in other words 'call Security'. They showed up lickety-split, doctor in tow. I recognized one from the Armory. To be polite, I let her know I recalled her."Oh, it is the Kindergarten graduate," I grinned. "Who is your lesbian playmate?""Oh goodie," Kindergarten snarled. "I get another crack at you.""Wait," the buddy cautioned her. "Shouldn't we investigate the claim that he knows an unknown tongue?" She looked to me. "Well?""The Doctor needs to leave the room," I stated."You don't tell us what to do, male," Kindy snapped."Okay, how can you verify I speak your Mother Tongue without violating some protocol if she is still in the room?" I sounded bored. Home-schooled and not in a good way."I say we beat it out of you," Kindy kept being stupid. Come on, like she was going to stumble upon a conspiracy in her lowly position, armed with her limited intellect."Bring it, Kitten," I smirked. "It's not like I'm going anywhere." The two security types drew their Tasers. I reclined onto the gurney and folded my arms over my chest."Sit up, damn you," Kindy's partner demanded."Why? So when you stun me I fall to the floor? I think I'd rather flop around on the gurney, thank you," I mused. Our conversation brought attention. A few women were starting to gather around when one pressed through. I didn't know her, but she had some familiar features."Cáel Nyilas, I am Traska Maza, Violet's sister. Come to my side," she ordered. Okay now, I didn't HAVE to obey that. Once more, a nice lady was giving me an out and I took it.I swung slowly off the gurney and hobbled to her side."Kneel," and I knelt with a grimace. "Now what is your problem with our breeding male?" she added the last part in Amazon."Wait," I blurted out. "I'm no one's breeding male yet!" In Amazon/Hittite. The crowd stirred."True and you are making it a truly glorious hunt, but we will take you as our prize in the end, Male," Traska smiled down at me while petting my hair while speaking in Amazon. Sex."He speaks the; Tongue?" the Doctor stammered."Of course he does," Traska nodded. "Otherwise it would have been quite difficult for him to refuse Hayden breeding rights on Saturday.""He refused Hayden," Kindy gawked."It is against corporate policy," I explained. "Being a good boy is getting the crap kicked out of me as it is. Heaven help me if I actually broke a rule." They chuckled; psycho bitches."Cáel, rise," so I struggled to my feet. "Go to the gurney and let the doctor tend to your battle scar," Traska commanded. As I staggered back from whence I came, the term 'battle scar' resonated to both me and the women."This does not settle the crime of him speaking our language," Kindy kept blathering."Did it occur to you to contact Elsa, or Katrina, or even the office of Hayden to gather information on what was going on," Traska sighed, "before racing to attack a wounded male in the middle of this vast structure we control? What was he going to do? Hobble over to a hurricane-proof window?""Even if he managed to somehow break one, he would be throwing himself down four floors to the sidewalk below? Admittedly, if he did accomplish all that and escape, he would be a threat. I'd still want to breed with him for that would be one tough, determined male," Traska chuckled. She walked off, the guards stood around uselessly and the doctor tended my wounds.I called Katrina, updating my situation, she called someone else, who probably called someone else, who called off the guards."So, who do you think you will be breeding with?" the doctor hinted. Seriously, I could pick up a girl in a war zone. A lonely female doctor in an ER that only treats women wasn't even a contest."Actually, no one," I winked. "I'm gay. I can't get it up around women." Recall, I had no pants on and my cockhead had a mind of its own, which didn't bother me. What did bother me was its mind being more dominant than the one on top of my shoulders. The doctor patted my package. My cock was pleading 'we haven't had sex in six hours; we are dying over here'. Lying bastard."Oh really," she teased."This is not fair," I groaned. "Your ass is so finely sculpted and tight," I couldn't see most of it because of her lab coat, but hey, "and your lips look like they could suck a golf ball through a garden hose." Be careful with the last line. Make sure your target likes fellatio first. The Doctor pursed her lips and gave me a wink. Was I lining up another prospective Havenstone woman as part of some grand master plan? No. I'm an idiot with an out of control libido. I am always hitting on women. I can't help it, thus my numerous scars and colorful stories."I can, you know," she purred. Golf ball; garden hose; feels so good. You know you are making an impact on the workplace when this happens: after leaving the doctor, I was taking the elevator up to my floor. The door opened and two women stepped in, suddenly disappointed."Oh; you are already dressed," Brielle sighed. Her companion was equally peeved."Arrow wound," I informed them. "I had to go to medical. They stripped me there.""Damn it," her companion snapped her fingers. "Maybe we should tag his itinerary?""I think Katrina would frown on that," Brielle shook her head."Well, can you take off your clothes really quick?" the companion turned to me.The door opened on my floor."Sorry. No. Gotta go to work. Have a nice day now," I retreated to the safety of the office.I'm an idiot. On all the desks in the sizable office space housing the heart of Executive Services was a long box; from Nerf. Oh, Sweet God; Buffy was out to make me cry.How did I know it was Buffy? If Desiree wanted to know something about me, she'd slap me around until I answered. Buffy was far more insidious. She'd spy on me. To give her credit, I had a box as well. I too could get that wonderful feeling that Custer's last trooper felt as the Sioux and Cheyenne closed in. Sure I could shoot back, but it wouldn't do any good.Katrina had already unboxed her toy. It was loaded, resting on her desk. It was a six shooter."Honestly Cáel, is your problem with my native tongue, an inability to tell time, or an unwillingness to follow common sense instructions?" Katrina gave me a warm, maternal look. She was referring to me engaging in strenuous activity in the first 48 hours after having been wounded."After this afternoon I do not have any other dates planned so I can take it easy," I promised."As long as you understand that many of us are risking our lives to help you keep yours," Katrina pointed out. "What did Elsa want Saturday night?" The look of shame on my face was probably what Katrina expected though not what she wanted to see. "Tell me," she groaned."Oh; okay; she kissed me once but I stopped her; against policy," I started."Yes?" Katrina muttered. She knew this was bad."Oh; then I vigorously sucked and bit on her, while fingering until she arrived; hard," I confessed. Katrina put her elbow in her desk, forearm uplifted then planted her forehead on her palm."By the Goddesses, you could walk blindfolded through a minefield only to trip over a cricket," Katrina mumbled. Katrina sensed my confusion."Elsa's and Rhada's/Madi's families are in a blood feud. They would kill you for looking amorously at the other," she explained."Whoops; I didn't make either one like me," I pleaded."I believe you, Cáel," Katrina looked up and smiled. "If I didn't, I would have Desiree toss you down an elevator shaft; from the thirtieth floor.""It wouldn't work," I grinned at her. "I'm part flying squirrel. I've got those little underarm flaps and everything.""Patagium," Katrina defined that bit of anatomy for me."Stop being smarter than me," I furrowed my brow. "It is unattractive in a female." Wack; Nerf hit. Right then Daphne and Tigger walked in and took in the situation."Can we all take shots at Cáel?" Daphne inquired. Oh hell no!"I'm actually recruiting a Rebel Alliance," I offered."What's in it for us?" Tigger asked."Dubious glory, improbable hope, an unfamiliar future and the unique experience of pitting your defiance into the Eye of the Abyss before the End," I promised in Old Kingdom Hittite.

Roy L Hales/Cortes Currents - A day before the election 338Canada is predicting a slight NDP majority. 338Canada is a campaign website that uses available polling data, each riding's history, and population data etc. It predicts the outcome of the election for every riding and has been used in 13 elections. They have been right close to 90% of the time. They were wrong, but still within the margin of error 6% and totally wrong in 4% out of 1,657 electoral district races. This prediction for the election was made Oct 16: 49 seats for the NDP and 42 for the Conservatives. As this is based on projections that show the popular vote very close (45% to 43% respectively) and this is within the margin of error (4%), the race could still be very close. The NDP need 47 seats to form a majority government. They are especially vulnerable in the 5 ridings where their lead is within the margin of error. This means their number of seats could (but probably won't) sink to 44. The Conservative lead is especially vulnerable in 10 ridings, which means their total number of seats could be as low as 32. Our North Island riding is one of the ones where the Conservatives have a slight lead, but the race is so close 338Canada is calling it a ‘toss up.' The popular vote for: Andy Kindy was projected at 44%, Michele Babchuk at 43% and Nic Dedeluk 13%. The margin of error for both Kindy and Babchuk is 7%, which means either of them could win. The Green Party is expected to take 2 ridings (Saanich North and the Islands and Furstenau's own Victoria Beacon Hill riding) could take 3 and it is possible they may take 4. They are only 2% behind the Conservatives in West Vancouver Sea to Sky, which means that race is still a ‘toss up' and they are 6% behind the NDP in Furstenau's old Cowichan Valley riding. Overall, 338Canada is stating the Conservatives could still win, but gives them only a 20% chance. They gave the NDP a 69% chance of victory and a 5% chance this will only be a minority government. Of course if a large number of NDP supporters stay home, as happened when Christy Clark was elected in 2011, the Conservatives could win. The recent Angus Reid poll identified two segments of the population who are especially pro-NDP: women and males under the age of 34. Given the closeness of the vote, their votes (or decision to not vote) may decide the election. The Green Party's hopes of increasing their number of seats beyond 2 most likely depend on the same segments of the population.

Dispatches: The Podcast of the Journal of the American Revolution
This week our guest is JAR contributor David Kindy. A thirteen star was found in a box that many speculated was from the American Revolution. Later scientific analysis proved its originality. For more information visit www.allthingsliberty.com
Thank goodness there is some common sense left in this country. Country Kindy has been given permission to stay open for another 12 weeks, at least. I've been fascinated by this story since we got wind of it at the end of last week. If you haven't been across it - last Thursday, it was announced that the Ministry of Education was going to close down Country Kindy from Monday. Then on Monday, it was announced that the kindy was taking court action to overturn the decision. And yesterday, it was announced that David Seymour had got involved in his capacity as an Education Minister, and the Ministry had agreed to allow it to stay open for the next 12 weeks while the court action takes place. Good. Because this situation is ridiculous. First of all, imagine the impact on the parents of those 22 kids who were told on a Thursday that from Monday - they need to find alternative care for their kids. Good luck trying to get kids into an early childhood centre with two days' notice. Even in a place like Auckland with heaps of ECE's on offer, it's hard. Never mind trying to find that in Manawatu, somewhere between Fielding and Hunterville - I don't think there's going to be a lot of kindies there. To give you an example, in Auckland I was on a waiting list for 18 months - until I cancelled it because I couldn't be bothered waiting anymore. Imagine what it's like somewhere between Fielding and Hunterville. Imagine the impact on those parents, imagine the impact on their workplaces because one of them won't be coming to work with a pre-schooler at home, and imagine the impact on those kids - who just want to go to kindy and see their friends. But worst of all of this is why the kindy was shut down. It was shut down because it failed to meet seven regulations. These include my personal favourite three: Condition 1- "a philosophy statement [that] guides the service's operation"; Condition 5- "demonstrate that adults providing education and care engage in meaningful, positive interactions to enhance children's learning and nurture reciprocal relationships"; Condition 6 - "The practices of adults providing education and care demonstrate an understanding of children's learning and development, and knowledge of relevant theories and practice in early childhood education". The teachers weren't beating the kids, they weren't starving them or locking them outdoors all day, there wasn't a health and safety issue. They just didn't write a philosophy statement, which means they need to get shut down. This is ridiculous. This is also a perfect example of A- why the early childhood sector desperately needs that red tape review that David Seymour's doing and B- what's gone wrong with the Ministry of Education. Because apparently to them, paperwork and philosophy statements are more important than kids just being able to go to kindy. So thank goodness this place is still open, and here's hoping the Ministry of Education gets a spanking in court. LISTEN ABOVESee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
David Seymour says early childhood centres are being held back by 'extraordinary' regulatory compliance standards. The Associate Education Minister issued a 'please explain' to the Ministry of Education, after Manawatu's Country Kindy faced closure. It has since been granted a 12-week continuation of operations from the Ministry. Seymour says children weren't at danger. "There's no question here that any student is in any danger, there's no health or safety issue. It all relates effectively to paperwork and compliance around the curriculum." 108.9 The Hawk is a failing fictional classic rock radio station in the fictional city of Val Verde. Well, the failing part isn't fictional. A couple of seasoned improv guys demonstrate how hard improv is for some people. They're pretending to be cheesy radio DJs and are somehow less funny and more corny than actual radio DJs. Pat Oates joins the show and quickly realizes that he works with the exact people these guys are trying to clown. After some very lame commercial parodies, we check in on Tom Myers who finally wrote some jokes for Trump's conviction. Well kinda. Then we check in on Chrissie Mayr's show as her, Keanu, and Missy B. all give their honest assessment of Aaron Imholte. Turns out Aaron is a doofus and comes off like a douche when he's trying to be a tough guy. Then Cardiff joins as we watch Anthony Cumia summon the pests to go after Stuttering John for threatening Dr. Steve. Scorch is putting out some of the worst content ever while also declaring victory over Opie and Anthony. And wait until you hear how he explains the hot mic incident. Kindy is back for a round of “To Catch An Alien,” Internet News, and your voicemails. In February 2024, The ZAMI NOBLA Podcast sat down to talk with Kendra Bryant Aya and Cyndi Ixchele Aya about their internet creation, “This is US: Unscripted Sundays with Kindy.” The couple shared the joys and challenges of maintaining a digital presence and the sacredness of storytelling. Kendra N. Bryant (s/hers) is a Black lesbian womanist, a fraternal twin, who enjoys reading, writing, singing, dancing & shucking & jiving to & about all things Black. She spends too much time theorizing about white America's hypocrisy; fangirls over Alice Walker; writes tankas & haikus; & trips the light fantastic to Kanye West, Aretha Franklin, & Lauryn Hill. When the spirit moves her, Kendra paints & collages, too. She endeavors to be a renowned poet. In the meantime, she works as an associate professor of English at North Carolina A&T State University. Read more about Kendra at drknbryant.com. Cyndi Ixchele Aya (s/hers) is a queer Black woman and a mother of two sons who enjoys assisting people in developing tools and practices that promote their healing. She is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with 15+ years counseling experience. Cyndi Ixchele leans into non-traditional healing methods through her energy work as a reiki master, which informs the holistic approach she takes in supporting her clients' mind-body-spirit selves. Kindy Moves: the feasibility of an intensive interdisciplinary programme on goal and motor outcomes for preschool-aged children with neurodisabilities requiring daily equipment and physical assistanceMatthew Haddon, Loren West, Catherine Elliott, Corrin Walmsley, Jane Valentine, Natasha Bear, Dayna Pool, Healthy Strides Research Advisory CouncilAbstractObjectives: To determine the feasibility of an intensive interdisciplinary programme in improving goal and motor outcomes for preschool-aged children with non-progressive neurodisabilities. The primary hypothesis was that the intervention would be feasible.Design: A single group feasibility study.Setting: An Australian paediatric community therapy provider.Participants: Forty children were recruited. Inclusion criteria were age 2-5 years with a non-progressive neurodisability, Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) levels III-V or equivalent, and goals relating to mobility, communication and upper limb function. Exclusion criteria included orthopaedic surgery in the past 6 months, unstable hip subluxation, uncontrolled seizure disorder or treadmill training in the past month.Intervention: A goal-directed programme of three 2-hour sessions per week for 4 weeks (24 hours total). This consisted of treadmill and overground walking, communication practice, and upper limb tasks tailored by an interdisciplinary team.Primary and secondary outcome measures: Limited-efficacy measures from preintervention (T1) to postintervention (T2) and 4-week follow-up (T3) included the Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS), Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM), Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM-66) and 10-Metre Walk Test (10MWT). Acceptability, demand, implementation and practicality were also explored. Results: There were improvements at T2 compared with T1 for all limited-efficacy measures. The GAS improved at T2 (mean difference (MD) 27.7, 95% CI 25.8 to 29.5) as well as COPM performance (MD 3.2, 95% CI 2.8 to 3.6) and satisfaction (MD 3.3, 95% CI 2.8 to 3.8). The GMFM-66 (MD 2.3, 95% CI 1.0 to 3.5) and 10MWT (median difference -2.3, 95% CI -28.8 to 0.0) improved at T2. Almost all improvements were maintained at T3. Other feasibility components were also demonstrated. There were no adverse events. Conclusions: An intensive interdisciplinary programme is feasible in improving goal and motor outcomes for preschool children with neurodisabilities (GMFCS III-V or equivalent). A randomised controlled trial is warranted to establish efficacy.Trial registration number: ACTRN12619000064101.Keywords: Clinical trials; Developmental neurology & neurodisability; Neurological injury.
This week we're checking in on Greg and Peter Brady's podcast. You'll never believe what these two are talking about… the Brady Bunch! Imagine doing something as a child and then talking about it and reliving it for the rest of your life. Oh, and I should mention, the thing you did as a child is embarrassing. Pat Oates joins us this week to try to figure out who would want to listen to recaps of episodes that came out over 50 years ago. Then we get important reporting from the Meidas Touch Brothers about Donald Trump's flatulence. Chris D'Elia had Bryan Callen on for a Patreon-only episode and they talked about the color of their shirts. Sign me up! After that, Tom Myers' guests are losing their minds over punchlines that don't exist and Stuttering John goes nuclear on Rich Vos over a tweet that was just some good natured ribbing. Finally, Cardiff joins us for another round of To Catch An Alien, Kindy reads recent reviews, and we listen to your voicemails. It's our 500th episode and we're celebrating with some of our least favorite podcasts from the first 499. We start with the Mike O'Meara Show featuring guys who were on the Don and Mike Show which I think was good back in the day. Then we look at the Boogered Up podcast featuring my favorite real-life Beavis - Spaz Kid. Also, Dax Shepard has been hosting a terrible podcast for years and we've been letting him get away with it. We're joined by Vinnie Paulino, Andy Q. Public, and Kindy to get things rolling. We have a fantastic tribute to our 500th episode from Myster Magenta, Jodie B, Ed the Editor, and Adam Theroux as well as a half-assed tribute from Cardiff Electric. Then Missy B joins the show to discuss Stuttering John calling her a sperm receptacle. After some good natured ribbing with StutJo, Dick Masterson joins us to learn more about the LGBTQ community with Queer Kid Stuff. Also, a round of To Catch An Alien, reviews with Kindy, and your voicemails. This week we're checking out another podcast where OnlyFans girls talk about how slutty they are… with sexy results. The Anal Princess tells us all about her origin story - from pre-med at UCLA to dropping out in order to take it in the dirt star from a homeless guy. It's a tale as old as time. Unfortunately Pat Oates had to call in sick but Cardiff Electric stepped up and filled in for him on this episode. After we learn about the dangers of ATM with other people's butt plugs, we move on to something else that's shitty, Tom Myers' comedy. Then we get caught up on the first half of Stuttering John's journey to Atlantic City. Things have not started out well for John - his flight was cancelled, VTL played his private voicemail on the BS Show, he ran to security at the casino when confronting Patrick Melton, and that's just the beginning. Finally, Kindy joins us as we catch an alien, read recent reviews, and get caught up on your voicemails. One of the most remarkable qualities I have seen in most 'Forest Educator' leaders I've met through this podcast is their ability and willingness to adapt, change and respond to the needs of the children, families and communities when needed. Areta Farrance is an incredible leader who is doing this in a big way, and seeing positive outcomes and results. We talk about her work building a community and extended family model of nature education, (commonly known in Australia as 'bush kindy'). Living in communities with an incredible diversity of languages and culture pushed her to create a model that is mobile, to serve several areas of her community. She shares how her communities need nature for mental health, for connection that breaks down cultural barriers and allows this diversity to become an asset to everyone. This week we're checking out a stand up comedy game show. It's shocking how bad people can be at telling jokes but still do it on the internet. Of course, Tom Myers is featured heavily on this show but I'm even more excited to introduce WATP listeners to Kristine Knowlton. She's the female version of Tom Myers if Tom Myers were somehow dumber. Dr. Steve is back on the show to define C and F words. Then we find out how Bobby Lee manages his money and I'm predicting this will end well. Tookie has a surprise appearance and we check out Leslie Jones on Club Random with Bill Maher talking about how brilliant she is. Then Stuttering John is victory lapping all over the place, he somehow won the Dabbleverse this week. Also, Cardiff comes on with a new game of To Poke A Dabbler, Kindy with reviews, and your voicemails. This week I'm at Chrissie Mayr's content house in the Poconos. We're checking out Amanda Bynes' new podcast that she hosts with a gay guy who looks like Jesus. Their first guest is a random tattoo artist that Amanda met at a Halloween store. I'll give her this, as far as a celebrity podcast, it's different. We're joined remotely by Producer Chris (who couldn't get his soundboard working) as well as Drew Magner, Keanu Thompson, and Geno Bisconte "in studio." After shocking everyone with how bad Amanda looks these days, we have a new submission for the holiday song parody contest, Stuttering John trying to get JD Harmeyer fired from SXM, Tom Myers' amazing roast jokes, and a visit from our review girl, Kindy. https://www.compoundmedia.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@keanuCthompson Support us, get bonus episodes, Vic and Hannah pics, and watch live every Saturday and most Wednesdays: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Learn more about your ad choices. You often hear the word "reiki"- but what does it really entail? Today- we sit down with Kindy Girdley as she shares her in=depth knowledge. Kindy's self healing journey began in her early 20's when she lost her parents to different types of cancer. She struggled with digestive issues, depression, headaches, allergies, candida, IBS, chronic pain, and adrenal fatigue. She learned to release what no longer served her, reprogram old thought patterns, and find modalities to help with these processes- one of them being reiki. Today, we bring you a crash course in reiki and answer common questions with a unique take- what is reiki? How does it work? What does it help? How can YOU use reiki in your healing journey? Does everyone have the gift of "healing hands?" Work with Kindy: https://www.revelnashville.com Follow Kindy:https://www.instagram.com/revel_nashville/

Today we took a break from radio jocks to check in on the new untalented broadcasters - YouTubers. Tana Mongeau and Brooke Schofield are now hosting a podcast that has over 2 million subscribers. There isn't a ton of brain power happening but when Matt Rife shows up... there isn't a ton of brain power. On this episode we welcome the return of Pat Oates whose daughter just happens to be a big fan of Tana Mongeau. We also discover a new character named Vern who hosts a show called Cinema Recall. Then we watch Stuttering John go off on Adam Hiniker for some reason. Joey C joins him to explain that Patrick Melton isn't scared of him and that he's an idiot. Imagine having Joey C explain that you're not understanding what's going on. This week we're checking in with Dave Farra and Jason Mahoney. These guys host a morning show unlike any other I've heard. Rather than base the show on various segments, topics, and bits, it's driven by voicemails. And I'm not even sure who these voicemailers think they're calling because I don't think I heard any of them acknowledge the show. Bizarre. Blind Mike joins us to discuss the awkward banter and excitement about putting on new socks. After that, Ray DeVito has a guest on his show who doesn't know that women show their boobs for money on the internet. Also, Tony Muskrat has one of the best Karl song parodies, we revisit Tower Gang to see what it's like sans Mark RanDom, Stuttering John came back to the internet (again), Chad Zumock reaches a new low, we try to catch an alien, and Kindy returns to charm our pants off. http://blindmike.net/ Support us, get bonus episodes, Vic and Hannah pics, and watch live every Saturday and most Wednesdays: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode we start with one of the most hateable podcasters we've ever encountered. Chelsea cheated on her husband, decided to “forgive herself,” and now makes a living from it. You can pay her money to be part of a group chat with other women who feel ashamed about their decisions and need strangers to tell them they're not bad people. Vinnie Paulino and Lucy Tightbox are both in studio to try to figure out what this woman is talking about. Then Tom Myers comes out with season 4 of his hilariously bad podcast, Matt McCusker has diarrhea and blames it on Rochester, Stuttering John gets duped big time (again), Opie thinks he makes more money than Anthony for some reason, and we have another riveting round of To Catch An Alien. On this episode, I interview Reiki Practitioner and Teacher Kindy Girdley about her journey in learning somatic healing practices and wanting to share them with others. We discuss her dreams with themes of interconnection and the ever-alternating roles of student and teacher. We touch on other modalities of healing such as chakra balancing, tarot, energy testing, and so much more! I also do an intro with a deep dive on reiki's historical and cultural context, as well as some information on the expanding integration of reiki across multiple branches of healthcare. Enjoy! **Correction: at 16:09, Kindy mentions the Craniosacral branches. She wanted to note that, while speaking about the Functional branch, she said “Bioenergtic," where the correct term would actually be “Biomechanical" Psyche Magic Patreon, Website, Socials and more! Alex Bugg is back for the penultimate leg of our second journey through the Unova region this week and his character Kindy has a whole gaggle of school-aged Pokémon ready to take on Marlon, Mr. Right, and Slaanesh. It's a breezy trip through the Marine Tube before we all arrive in Humilau City where Marlon leads trainers on a not-so-wild goose chase around the docks. It didn't take a lot to finally vanquish him, unless you're Josh, of course, and you're only working with four Pokémon on your team. The boys also battled, which you can probably predict the outcome of. (Did I mention Josh only has four active Pokémon?)
