In 1986, Mike Richardson, a comic shop owner in Milwauikie, Oregon launched Dark Horse Comics with the release of the appropriately named Dark Horse Presents, a black and white anthology comic that would change comics forever, and I honestly mean that. Within a few short years, Dark Horse comics would be a force to be reckoned with the comic industry, producing some of the greatest comics the world has ever seen. With mature, compelling stories from some of the greatest comic creators in the world, Dark Horse published an incredible package of graphic storytelling that pushed the comic book medium into new territory. Whether it was licensed properties like Star Wars, RoboCop, Aliens, Predator, and the Terminator. Or creator owned comics from comic legends like Paul Chadwick’s Concrete, John Byrne’s Next Men, Frank Miller’s Sin City, Mike Mignola’s Hellboy, Mike Baron & Steve Rude’s Nexus, Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo, or Eric Powell’s Goon. Dark Horse comics produced the best comic books on the racks. And so I'm here to celebrate that rich 35 year comic publishing history in podcast form! Welcome to another episode of Dark Horse Presents, the podcast that celebrates Dark Horse’s 35 rich years of publishing comics here on the KSCGSF feed. I am your host Kyle Benning, and this time out I’m going to take a brief look at the brilliant 5 issue Mini-Series BANG! From the minds of Matt Kindt and Wilfredo Torres. A long time ago, on a different Star Wars podcast.... Ryan Daly and Kyle Benning reviewed the first two issues of Dark Horse Comics' TALES OF THE JEDI, depicting the epic battle of valiant Jedi Knights and Dark Side sorcerers set 4000 years before the Skywalker Saga. For some reason, they never continued their coverage... until now. Re-presenting a conversation that first aired in September 2015 on Dead Bothan Spies: A Star Wars Podcast, Ryan and Kyle cover "Ulic Qel-Droma and the Beast Wars of Onderon" from Tales of the Jedi #1 and #2. Welcome to the second episode of the CRISIS ON MULTIPLE EARTHS PODCAST, a show dedicated to covering the stories chronicling the adventures and team-ups of the Justice Society of America of Earth-2 and their Earth-1 counterparts the Justice League of America. Each episode will be devoted to a single issue of one of these Crisis crossovers, so join me, your host Kyle Benning, as I chronologically work through the 8 volumes of Crisis on Multiple Earths and Crisis on Multiple Earth Team-Ups TPBs. This time out I once again dive into the Crisis on Multiple Earths Volume 1 TPB to examine the second meeting of the Flash of Earth-1 Barry Allen and the Flash of Earth-2 Jay Garrick, as told in the story from Flash #129, titled "Double Danger on Earth." The issue originally went on sale April 19th 1962 and was written by Gardner Fox, penciled by Carmine Infantino, and inked by Joe Giella. You can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes & Stitcher under the KSCGSF Podcast Feed. During the episode I read feedback from 4 listeners and mention their fine online blog & podcasting efforts. Please check out their respective blogs & podcasts at the below links. Chris Franklin of the Super Mates Podcast and the Power Records Podcast located on the Fire & Water Podcast Feed Professor Alan Middleton of the Relatively Geeky Podcast Network. Tim Wallace of the Kord Industries Blue Beetle Blog and Legion of Super-Bloggers And Van Zee, who posts a ton of great JSA related content on the Tales of the JSA Facebook Page Feedback for the podcast can be left here at the blog, on iTunes via an iTunes review, emailed to me at my email address kylebenning41@yahoo.com, or on the King-Size Comics Giant-Size Fun Facebook page.

Frank isn't on meds, but that one is Exhibit "A."
