Judas Part 1Another tale from the Celtic WikiFor Celts of a certain age, there is not a name that illicits greater emotion than Mo Johnston. Signed in a record deal in October 1984 he was part of a Celtic forward line that should have achieved even more than it did and during that spell. He completed perhaps the greatest team goal in Celtic's history in the 5-0 title triumph at Love Street. He left but was set to return in a dramatic move in 1989 as Celtic set to try and wrestle the initiative back from Rangers. The rest, as they say, is history.Enjoy… This is a public episode. In the golden era of the 1960s and early 70s, Laurel Canyon emerged as a musical haven. This wooded enclave, nestled in the Hollywood Hills just above Los Angeles and beyond the famed Sunset Boulevard, became a storied sanctuary for a host of American musicians. It was here that legends like Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, Nash, The Beach Boys, The Mamas & The Papas, and The Byrds laid down their roots and created a legacy. Laurel Canyon, more than just a neighborhood, was a muse to many. It's where Jim Morrison penned “Love Street,” and Joni Mitchell brought “Ladies of the Canyon” to life. This week on RadioWilder, we pay homage to the sounds that sprang from this mythic locale. From Frank Zappa to Canned Heat, who both lived and recorded in the Canyon, to Jackson Browne and The Monkees who left their mark, we're diving deep into the Canyon's lore. Join us as we rewind time and revisit the Canyon scene. We'll share tales and tunes from some of the most influential rock ‘n' roll music ever produced. Don't miss out on this musical journey through history with RadioWilderLive.com.

In the mid-1960s, Los Angeles was a mecca of American music, and it was where Pamela Courson decided she wanted to be, escaping her suffocating conservative community in nearby Orange County. Pam was an intelligent but restless young woman, and she found a home among the outcasts of her generation who frequented the nightclubs and parties all over town. On one of these nights, she’d meet a sensitive and handsome poet who’d been thrust into the role of lead singer of a strange rock band called The Doors. Pam and Jim would quickly fall in love and over the next few years; their time together would be a rollercoaster. Ultimately, it would lead them to Paris. On Through by The Doors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOpQjD-rX0g Peeps, here’s your the-gate-is-straight Friday jam. Listening to The Doors when I was 9 and 10 opened up my musical world so much more than bands like the Beatles did. Don’t get me wrong, I love yellow submarines as much as the next u-boat commander but I met the darkly cool poet persona in songs like The End and Waiting for the Sun. I became all too familiar with the torture of losing friends, and of longing for closure when I was a teenager. Hearing Morrison sing, “waiting for you to tell me what went wrong” still resonates with me as much as it did when I was in junior high. I could relate to that so much more than when Lennon and McCartney sang, “I wanna hold your hand.” I never held girls’ hands in school. Along with the vocals and lyrics in Break on Through, the gritty distorted guitar, the vox continental organ, the bossa nova drums always remind me of driving, accelerating, smashing through whatever it is that keeps me locked up inside myself. Powerful stuff when you’re a kid. Anyways, put on some headphones, find your other side. 😊 #musicvideos #thedoors #diariespodcast Karly · Dec 1, 2017 at 11:28 am I related more to People Are Strange…and still do… $m.wand.ajax_click=true;$m.wand.lightswitch=true; tcr! · Dec 1, 2017 at 12:06 pm Yep, I’m with ya. On our 34th episode, we reach the midway point of The Doors discography, reviewing 1968's "Waiting For The Sun". Significantly different in character from the previous two albums, this piece of work is a bit less coherent, a bit more muddled, yet still shines through with several excellent tracks and an intriguing departure from the sound they'd developed to this point. We also take a listen to the infamous studio version of "Celebration Of The Lizard", the whole-side would-be epic that garnered so little traction among the producer and band members not named Jim that they decided to shelve almost the entire thing.Cosmic America reviews artists and their records, and we do it by going album-by-album through their careers. Welcome back to another weekend podcast from the Randalstown Hoops were we look back at Celtic's 4-0 win over Ross County at the Global Energy Stadium. Brendan Rodgers made wholesale changes to the team which booked their place in the Betfred Cup final against Aberdeen with a 1-0 win over Newco last Sunday. Those players drafted in went out to impress from the start and winger Patrick Roberts scored in the third minute with a fine drive, although County did fashion several chances themselves. Indeed, Staggies defender Andrew Davies hit the post with a header after the break but in the 83rd minute midfielder Stuart Armstrong clinched the points with a fine finish before substitutes Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele added further goals in added time. The Hoops extended their unbeaten domestic run to 13 games and go further clear of Aberdeen, whom they visit on Saturday. County, meanwhile, have had gone eight games without a win although boss Jim McIntyre will take some heart from battling performance before the late collapse. Rodgers made eight changes to the side which started against the Light Blues at Hampden. Emilio Izaguirre, Cristian Gamboa, Armstrong, Callum McGregor, Roberts, Ryan Christie, Liam Henderson and Leigh Griffiths all came into the side. Celtic moved nine points clear at the top of the Premiership after beating Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Tom Rogic's controlled half-volley put the reigning champions ahead midway through the first half. Dons goalkeeper Joe Lewis denied Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele and Rogic as the visitors pressed for a second after the interval. Having struggled to create, Aberdeen had a late flurry and Craig Gordon prevented an Erik Sviatchenko own goal. Two victories over Celtic at Pittodrie last season had kept the Dons close to Ronny Deila's team until the last few weeks of the season. But Derek McInnes' men drop from second to fourth in a tight table having played a game more than Celtic, who they meet in next month's Scottish League Cup final. We all so hear from brendan rodgers post match interview where he talks to Sky Sports about the game . Our Featured games this week we look back at 3 games from the the past. 1986-05-03: St. Mirren 0-5 Celtic Celtic snatch the championship by edging out Heart of Midlothian on the last day of the campaign. The margin was on goal difference, as Celtic beat St Mirren 5-0 at Love Street and Hearts fall to two late goals from Dundee at Dens Park. 1988-05-14: Celtc 2-1 Dundee Utd, Scottish Cup Final Difficult to begin to understand the atmosphere that surrounded this game. For the Celtic players, it was a chance to seal a memorable double for the club in our Centenary Season having wrapped up the league earlier on. For Dundee Utd, it was a chance to finally break their hoodoo in the Scottish Cup having lost countless number of finals to date (inc the previous cup final in 1987 by St Mirren). Despite being league winners, this was not going to be an easy game for Celtic, and Dundee Utd under the legendary Jim McLean were a very good and entertaining side with some quality players. 1991-03-17: Celtic 2-0 Rangers, Scottish Cup, St Patrick's Day massacre. Cracking win for Celtic after seeing us lose a man first (Peter Grant red card). Huns lost three players and a great morale boosting win saw us KO the huns. First half goals from Gerry Creaney & Shug (deflected free-kick) sealed the win, and no amount of posturing from the Huns could get them near us. Peter Grant made an ass of himself by getting sent off stupidly. He conceded a free-kick outside our box (first yellow) and then charged the free-kick down (second yellow) to get himself a red! Thankfully we survived. Great win as the support sang "Happy Birthday St Patrick" all day long.. Wonderful.
