It's another big hitter episode but not as we know it. Over the past year I have been putting this show together, knowing that time will be short for me come spooky season. So I compiled my favourite parts from the video nasty series of the top tier, successfully prosecuted films over on Patreon & have put them in order of my least favourite to the movie that I think is the best. All the nasties with a total of 19 guests, a silly amount of booze & the filthiest 39 movies that you ever would see.1.28 - Bloody Moon (w/ Larry Shemel)36.46 - Madhouse (w/ Alexander Heff)1.02.51 - Snuff (w/ Kevin Lyons)1.37.34 - Love Camp 7 (w/ Benjamin Bowles)1.55.11 - Mardi Gras MassacreBetween the interview segments there are various clips from an incredibly important documentary which is actually an episode from the BBC series 'Open Space' in which the public made programmes under their own editorial control. It's an episode called 'Suitable for Viewing in the Home?' from 1984. This gives some detailed context to pretty much all the conversations for this episode.

The Spin Chagrin, a concept that finds Frank having to watch a movie he's never seen before based on the random spin of a wheel filled with off-the-wall genres, continues into its third year; the twist this year is that all the categories are quotables from Frank himself. In this episode, Frank's category was "Aztec Ally.” For this category, he watched and reviewed three different movies: the Ian Ziering SyFy movie Aztec Rex, Mel Gibson's Apocalypto, and the ‘70s horror slasher Mardi Gras Massacre featuring an Aztec enthusiast as the killer.

Blood Feast (1963), Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964), The Gruesome Twosome (1967), The Wizard of Gore (1970) When Herschell Gordon Lewis made his first nudie cutie film in 1961, nobody would have expected that he'd become one of the most important names in the history of horror. But with the release of Blood Feast just two years later, Lewis and his producing partner David F. Friedman would invent the gore subgenre and would fundamentally reshape horror as we knew and understood it. And for about a decade after it, Lewis would continue to release gore-obsessed fare to grindhouses and drive-ins across the nation. When those sorts of theaters started to fade away in the 70s, so did Lewis, who went back to his previous career in advertising. But in the 80s and beyond his fame was resuscitated on home video and in the pages of magazines like Fangoria and Deep Red where he became known as The Godfather of Gore. With some help from Christopher Wayne Curry, author of A Taste of Blood: The Films of Herschell Gordon Lewis, we dive into four of his films and manage to talk about a whole slew of others. Movies mentioned in this episode: Bell, Bare and the Beautiful (1963), Blood Diner (1987), Blood Feast (1963), Blood Feast (2016), Blood Feast 2: All U Can Eat (2002), Blood Sucking Freaks (1976), Boin-n-g (1963), Color Me Blood Red (1965), Curse of Frankenstein (1957), The Gore Gore Girls (1972), Gruesome Twosome (1967), I Drink Your Blood (1971), Intolerance (1916), Jigoku (1960), Mardi Gras Massacre (1978), Moonshine Mountain (1964), Multiple Maniacs (1970), Night of the Living Dead (1968), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Pit Stop (1969), Polyester (1981), Scream Baby Scream (1969), Scum of the Earth (1963), A Taste of Blood (1967), Tarantula (1955), The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), Serial Mom (1994), This Stuff'll Kill Ya! (1971), Three on a Meathook (1972), Two Thousand Maniacs (1964), Wizard of Gore (1970), Year of the Yahoo! (1971)
Summer Slasher Camp 3 continues with Mardi Gras Massacre! Dan and Brennan discuss this sleazy picture from the 70s that has far more naked than it does Mardi Gras. Will the questionable acting and direction be enough to keep them entertained, or will they find themselves begging to be ritually sacrificed just to get out of finishing the movie? "Laisse rouler les bons coeurs." Bienvenue et bon Mardi Gras! To celebrate the Carnival season, Matthew and Quinton discuss none other than Jack Weis' sleaze-classic: MARDI GRAS MASSACRE. Offering enough nudity and bloodshed to warrant an X rating in the US and a years-long ban in the UK, Mardi Gras Massacre shows that even the cleaner parts of the French Quarter are still often stained with blood. An out-of-towner visits the Quarter in the weeks preceding Mardi Gras, but he's got a different idea of fun. One that involves sacrificing the most "evil" of sex workers at the altar of a ancient Aztec death goddess. As more girls disappear, it's up to a former vice squad detective to track down this sadistic butcher of women. After a brief overview of some Mardi Gras history, Matthew and Quinton talk on the merits of this oft-unseen film, how it depicts the everyday horrors of the lives of women, and how cities and an influx of visitors can sometimes provide a feeding frenzy for new age Jack the Ripper hopefuls. Join us for some personal Mardi Gras stories and firsthand accounts of some of the film's locations. You might be from elsewhere, but you'll certainly leave your heart behind in New Orleans!

Recorded Monday October 5th and Wednesday October 12th, 2022 Happy Halloween, fans! That Horror Show Podcast brings you another double-feature review of horror that will tickle your funny-bones. Show hosts Timothy Kazda and Chris Koenig have jumped in the way-back machine and transplant themselves to that bygone era known as the 1970s. Tim and Chris find some flea-pit drive-in theatre and check out two low-budget oddities: "Crypt of Dark Secrets" (1978) and "Mardi Gras Massacre" (1978). And, believe it or not, these movies have the following things in common: both involve cult satanic worship, both are cinematic drive-in dreck, both are filmed on location in New Orleans! So take a trip down with us to 'The Big Easy' (or, as Chris himself says, 'The Big Sleazy'...don't worry, he means that as a term of endearment!), check in to the drive-in with your favorite gal in the passenger seat for some "quality time" together, and give this show a listen! Plus a all new Kidz Corner with Nate where we chat about "Aliens" (1986) #CryptOfDarkSecrets #MardiGrasMassacre #Aliens #THSP

The streets of the old French Quarter run red as a ritualistic murderer preys upon the ladies of the night and offers up their hearts to his evil pagan god. It's "Mardi Gras Massacre" this week on Videodrome Cinema podcast, an obscure Video Nasty that features no Massacre and barely any Mardi Gras. Join us as we explore the musty thrills of this groan-worthy slasher flick.

First up, Elric checked out the 80's "slasher" flick GIRLS NITE OUT, EMBRACE OF THE SERPENT, DARLING and THE GREASY STRANGLER. Bekah caught SOUTHBOUND and talks TV with SLASHER and MTV's SCREAM. Ryan survived the MARDI GRAS MASSACRE, as well as cult classics THE GATE and THE LOST BOYS. Rob got a sneak peek at THE 6TH FRIEND and plays a snippet from the recently released soundtrack to MONTAUK CHRONICLES. The group then welcome very special guests Joshua Miller and Mark Fortin, the screenwriters behind 2015's THE FINAL GIRLS to the show. We delve into their earliest experiences in the horror genre. For Miller, it was seeing his father in THE EXORCIST as Father Karras, and starring in movies like NEAR DARK & RIVER'S EDGE. The two delve into why they love horror, how they met and partnered up, as well as maneuvering themselves in Hollywood as writers & creators on such TV shows as QUEEN OF THE SOUTH. A lot of ground is covered in this lengthy, candid chat! Sit back, relax and join the conversation.

With this in mind, Steve sets himself up to be captured by Dolenz in order to find out the robot maker's ultimate plan. John and Paul are joined by writer/publisher/critic Dr. Arnold T.
