They explore the government's alarming debt, the erosion of purchasing power and why Bitcoin might be the answer. Their conversation exposes uncomfortable truths about money that schools won't teach you and most media won't discuss. KEY TAKEAWAYS The UK government spends more servicing debt (£120 billion) than on education (£73 billion). This debt spiral is politically impossible to escape since no party can win an election by proposing austerity. Fiat currencies typically last about 90 years before collapsing. Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Lebanon, and Turkey demonstrate what happens when currencies fail. The UK and US may be headed toward similar fates. CBDCs represent a dystopian nightmare where governments could instantly freeze citizens' money. This surveillance state technology would make people slaves of the government rather than the other way around. Bitcoin offers a revolution through decentralised money that can't be controlled or debased by governments. It enables borderless transactions without intermediaries. In countries with failing currencies, people naturally gravitate toward better money. Citizens in Cambodia, Venezuela, and Argentina already prefer dollars or Bitcoin over their rapidly devaluing local currencies. Our current money system incentivises excessive consumption rather than saving. Bitcoin encourages more responsible spending by preserving value over time, potentially reducing wasteful industries like fast fashion. BEST MOMENTS "We are in a financial debt spiral. If the debt's not paid off, the debt's getting bigger and if the debt's getting bigger, it's going to drive more inflation, which is going to have a widening gap in society." "I am a Bitcoiner because for me it is a peaceful revolution. It is a way to educate the people around money, educate the people around government, and peacefully protest. I'm not picking up a pitchfork or a gun, I am sending a transaction to you." "What happens when the government makes a mistake with their allocation of capital? They hide it, they lie about it, they spin about it, and nothing. They tax us more. They are terrible allocators of capital." "When the money isn't scarce, everything else is. I hold Bitcoin because it's scarce. I have very high conviction in 10 years time, everything I've got in Bitcoin is going to be worth considerably more than it is now." This week bumper show and one all about the people and not necessarily the lifting of trophies, despite the time of the season. First up a fan who has had a week he will surely always remember but perhaps not for the best of reasons. Dean Knight this time last week was a typical fan helping organise a supporters bus to a play-off chasing match at the weekend. On Saturday evening he was being rushed to hospital 120 miles from home after a bus crash left him and another 15 or so South Shields fans injured and shaken up. Thankfully, everybody survived and are on the mend, but it was the reaction from fellow fans, fans from all clubs even rivals that captured my attention and captured the heart of Dean as the non league football family pulled together. Talking about the non league family pulling together. My next guest is a Chairman who has been the focus of some ridicule since coming into the game. However, back to back promotions for his Real Bedford side and new investment from American Billionaires, suggest Peter McCormack might just be onto to something with his non traditional approach. Rounding it all up is The Non League Paper's Jon Couch, previewing the National League's final set of normal fixtures, managerial changes and the scrapping of FA Cup Replays in the proper rounds.
Today's episode begins with the biggest talking points from Paris Blockchain Week, as venture capitalist Tim Draper explains why it's not too late to buy Bitcoin and where it could be headed after the halving. Austin Federa from the Solana Foundation unpacks the reasons for Solana's network congestion issues, and a research report suggests that Bitcoin miners could sell up to $5 billion worth of BTC after the halving. In other news, the Winklevoss twins became co-owners of Real Bedford alongside Bitcoin podcaster Peter McCormack. The pair invested $4.5 million of Bitcoin into the English football club. Lastly, Cointelegraph's investigations team published an exclusive report revealing that the cryptocurrency exchange BingX allows sanctioned Iranian users to evade restrictions.Further reading:$250K Bitcoin? Co-host is Bert Slagter. Crypto investing veteran, Peter Dunworth, says Bitcoin should be worth at least $7 Billion dollars per coin. In an exclusive new interview with Peter McCormack on the What Bitcoin Did podcast he breaks down the math of how he thinks this is possible. “The first valuation framework is simple in that there's $6.3 trillion of global trade that happens on a daily basis, and if you divide $6.3 trillion by the 900 BTC that are minted on the day you get to $7 billion a coin.” Learn more about your ad choices. What if Bitcoin wasn't just for tech enthusiasts or the financially savvy, but a tool that could promote equality and sustainability? This engaging episode features Trey Walsh, host of the Progressive Bitcoiner podcast, set on debunking misconceptions and introducing broader, and often unheard, perspectives into the Bitcoin conversation. We dive into the thick of things, batting against erroneous narratives like Bitcoin's purported use in criminal activities and its supposed negative impact on the environment. Ever considered a career switch to the Bitcoin space? We unravel the challenges and triumphs of transitioning from the non-profit sector to Bitcoin ventures. As we recall the milestone 50th episode with Peter McCormack, we reflect on the support received from the community and the vital role of choosing the right guests in shaping the discourse. Trey's insights are not just enlightening, but they might just inspire your next career move! Yet, it's not all smooth sailing. We delve into the legal wrangle brewing between Coinbase and the SEC, dissecting the potential repercussions on Bitcoin and self-custody. We also discuss the promising prospects of a Bitcoin ETF and the importance of understanding that court battles are lengthy and headlines may not reveal the entire story. From navigating Bitcoin nodes to the future of lightning potentially replacing credit cards, this episode is a roller coaster ride through the Bitcoin landscape.0:00 - Progressive Bitcoin and Bitcoin Adoption10:57 - Discussion on Podcasting and Professional Experience18:26 - Coinbase, SEC, and Bitcoin Regulations25:25 - Exploring Bitcoin Nodes and Payment OptionsFollow Trey Walsh:https://linktr.ee/treywalsh

“Every species that becomes sentient and develops “When you tell people they cannot speak, that is when they scream. But when you tell people they cannot scream, that is when they tear things down.”— Vivek RamaswamyVivek Ramaswamy is an entrepreneur and author. In this interview, we discuss his thesis that social and political struggles are rooted in the rise of a managerial class dominating society at the expense of everyday citizens. We also talk about the need to revive a binding national identity, and how the social justice movement may be causing more harm than good.- - - -Public choice theory influenced a generation of conservatives around the world in the 1970s and 80s. In essence, the theory applied economic thinking to political behaviour. It undermined the notion of public interest: it was a nebulous irrelevance in relation to public policy as all individuals, including politicians and bureaucrats, work in their own self-interest.What resulted was the development of a managerial class that would be incentivized to achieve specific aims through monetary rewards. This class has grown since the 1980s to now represent, in some people's views, an oversized controlling force within society. However, their decision-making is increasingly outside of the purview and influence of ordinary citizens.Vivek Ramaswamy believes this friction between managers and everyday people is at the root of the current social and political struggles within society. Exacerbating these tensions are increasing incidents of managers being coopted by elites to do their bidding, undermining constitutional norms. Vivek believes that we are now at a defining moment when the defining principles of political organisation need to be reviewed. The ideals and principles of the United States, as laid out in the constitution, became a unifying force around which a vibrant national identity was developed. This, until very recently, facilitated and supported American hegemony. But, in short order, that binding sense of a united vision has been replaced by factionalised ideologies that threaten the viability of the American experiment. The fundamental issue is that the notion of Americanism has been allowed to wither. Vivek believes that to combat China and meet the other great challenges of our age, America must find again a shared national identity that eclipses current partisan divisions. In essence, the US must retrace its steps before venturing forward.

Catherine Austin Fitts originally freaked me out, but I now follow her like a Deadhead going to Grateful Dead concerts. Her Solari.com is for people who can either tolerate a conversion by blowtorch or who already understand the basics. She told us the bottom line about Malone, Desmet, and Breggin HERE (I downloaded and copied this podcast above). Her view is that Malone is sincere but has a ridiculously thin skin that would make his planned entry into politics inadvisable. I did. If you need a recap, recall that Robert Malone did a seminal interview with Rogan (# 1757). But after Malone sued Peter Breggin and other freedom movement people, I have viewed him with skepticism. Breggin observed that Malone and a psychologist named Desmet blame the worldwide disasters on a psychological angst they label "mass formation psychosis." Breggin believes this takes responsibility away from the global predators. He is also concerned that the psychosis tag could mean that people concerned about events might be labelled crazy, and in today's insane era, they might be given toxic psych meds. Next, Alex Epstein. I covered his “climate denial” work in prior posts and Cassandra's Memo. Government regulation and protesters cripple US nuclear power, and no new nuclear plants have been put into service here since the 1970s. The industry is scalable, and it is cheap without this burden. Small reactors could be brought on line in just a few years. Nuclear power plants produce so much energy—they operate over 90 percent of the time—that they pay back their construction costs in the first six (6) weeks that they are up and running. In this episode of the MONEY podcast, Peter talks to Rob about the spiralling debt problem in the UK, the failures of the government, the mistrust of the media right now as well as the role of both Bitcoin and traditional currency in society. KEY TAKEAWAYS The national debt is the second biggest bill the government has to pay but politicians aren't incentivised to pay it off so it just gets worse. We don't teach children the things they need to know to succeed in life, especially around money and finances. We need a government, but not in its current state. We can't trust the media anymore, generally speaking there is a real lack of proper journalism. Bitcoin is a way of peacefully protesting against the current central money systems. We have a system that benefits just the elites, traditional conservatism and capitalism doesn't exist in the UK anymore. The current government can seemingly find money for financial institutions but not for things that really matter to society, such as schooling and nurses. BEST MOMENTS “We're no spending more a year on debt than on education” “There is no incentive for bringing austerity” “Governments employ the most stupid people in our society” “I miss traditional conservative policies” “Bitcoin is the one thing they can't control” VALUABLE RESOURCES For access to Rob's FREE toolkit including video training and resources, head to bit.ly/robtoolkit http://rob.team bit.ly/Robsupporter https://robmoore.com/podbooks ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Maajid Nawaz is a charismatic man with riveting perspectives. Although he describes a hero's path for us, I am uncertain about his story. He denies current establishment ties but has worked with many evil actors. Since I am not an expert on politics, international relations, or recent history outside of medicine, I would like my readers to let me know what they think. This is a guest post from Peter McCormack's What Bitcoin Did podcast, which is the best introduction to Bitcoin. I have listened to many of his episodes and am using this interview with his kind permission. HERE is the link to the original discussion. I recorded this one at 1.25 speed. Nawaz is a British Pakistani who was a leader in an Islamist group. In December 2001, when he was 20 years old, he was arrested in Egypt. Although nonviolent, he was sentenced to five years for promoting their ideas and thrown in with some of the most notorious criminals in the Middle East. Some of the others who served time with him were just university professors advocating change. When he was not in solitary confinement or being forced to watch others being tortured with electric shocks, he studied. He learned enough from the other prisoners to get the equivalent of several degrees in international relations. Nawaz became convinced that the violent Islamist approach was a mistake, and when he was released from prison at 28, he renounced the extremist group.Luckily, his former colleagues decided not to kill him. He became a commentator and consultant and is now, at 43, a prominent critic of Islamism. He has testified before Congress. He knows George Bush, David Cameron, and was a senior advisor to Tony Blair. He trained the FBI, CIA, and similar British agencies. He has been on the Joe Rogan show. Lately, he has been labeled a “conspiracy theorist” and censored for telling the truth about Covid.Nawaz said he met many sincere underlings in the British and US government service. But he believes that all regimes and government agencies hoard power and wind up as corrupt tools of the powerful. After his experiences, Nawaz concluded that interference with the free flow of information had profoundly evil effects. He said that the best protection the world has now is the US Constitution.Support the show

Location: London Date: Thursday 13th January Company: Real Bedford Role: Chairman For years I have wanted to buy a football club in Bedford and get them in the football league. Now it's a reality as I have agreed to acquire Bedford FC and set up the first Bitcoin standard football club: Real Bedford. And, it's thanks to Bitcoin and its amazing community. There are two prime motivations. Firstly I want an opportunity to play my part and help spread the wider exposure, education, and adoption of Bitcoin. There are many great people I've been fortunate to interview over these past few years who have provided real value to the ecosystem. Secondly, I want to give something back to my hometown where I still live: Bedford. Like many small towns throughout the UK and around the world, it has gone through various waves of growth and contraction that have tested its identity. A football club that's able to compete at the highest levels could provide a positive focal point for the town and put it firmly back on the map. Don't be fooled into thinking this isn't without major challenges. I have never run a football club before, we're 9 leagues below the Premier League, I have other significant commitments, and there's widespread incredulity about my ambitions. But, this is a boys' own dream, and I want to take you along for the ride. In this interview, Bitcoin advocate and good friend of What Bitcoin Did Dominic Frisby talks to Peter McCormack, Chairman of Real Bedford. We discuss the dream to help Bitcoin and Bedford, learning to run a football club, and documenting the adventure.
