The CPGGUYS are joined by Kunal Nagpal, who serves as Chief Business Officer at InMobi, responsible for global business strategy, product management, enterprise partnerships and client success on the sell side. InMobi Exchange is a marketplace for buying and selling advertisements across apps that work with InMobi and Meson, a true publisher-first mediation platform was launched in 2022. Under Nagpal's leadership, InMobi Exchange became the second largest in-app exchange platform in the industry and has seen year-over-year growth of 39 percent in 2022.Episode sponsored by inmobiFollow Kunal Nagpal on LinkedIn at : https://www.linkedin.com/in/nagpalkunal/Follow InMobi on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/inmobi/Follow InMobi online at: https://www.inmobi.com/Kunal answers the following questions :1. What are the main mobile market trends and emerging technologies that InMobi is closely monitoring or investing in?2. How does InMobi differentiate itself from its competitors in the mobile advertising space? Whats your mojo? Why should brands pay attention?3. How does InMobi approach customer acquisition and retention in such a dynamic and competitive industry?4. How does InMobi address issues related to data privacy and security, especially in light of evolving regulations?5. You are an app-focused company and perhaps the only one at this scale and reach to work with a diverse set of advertisers. Is this an opportunistic play executed well or is this some sort of a strategic advantage 6. Can you share insights into InMobi's approach to innovation and product development?7. While on innovation, what is InMobi's take on Retail Media Networks (RMN) that seem to be getting a lot of attention and interest from clients, especially large CPG players? How do those fit into your own strategy? 8. Thinking of a different take on them, do you think RMNs are a high ROI sandbox within the open programmatic ecosystem or are they a version of a walled garden that interplays well with the open ecosystem?CPG Guys Website: http://CPGguys.comFMCG Guys Website: http://FMCGguys.comCPG Scoop Website: http://CPGscoop.comNextUp Website: http://NextUpisnow.org/cpgguysRetailWit Website: http://retailwit.comRhea Raj's Website: http://rhearaj.comDISCLAIMER: The content in this podcast episode is provided for general informational purposes only. Junio 13, 2021

We start off with another "What's that Sound?" so put your geeky-ears to the test and win a Hackaday Podcast T-shirt. Here are a couple of classic hacks to bring you joy: music based on Markov chains, and a squiggly take on the classic Nokia game of snake. For the more hardcore science geeks we dive into the B Meson news coming out of CERN's physics experiments. And after taking a detour in bristle-bot-based pen plotting, we unpack the hidden system of pipes that carry oil, gas, diesel, and more from the refinery to your region. Contemporary media leads us more than ever to an ‘acting at a distance,’ an acting entangled with the materiality of communication and the mediality of transmission. Action at a Distance (Meson Press, 2020) this crucial phenomenon thereby introducing urgent questions of human interaction, the binding and breaking of time and space, and the entanglement of the material and the immaterial. Three vivid inquiries deal with histories and theories of mediality and materiality: John Durham Peters looks at episodes of simultaneity and synchronization. Christina Vagt discusses the agency of computer models against the backdrop of aesthetic theories by Henri Bergson and Hans Blumenberg, and Florian Sprenger discusses early electrical transmissions through copper wire and the temporality of instantaneity. Marci Mazzarotto is an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of Digital Communication at Georgian Court University in New Jersey. In today's episode, we'll be talking to Kinga and David (mainly David, he did most of the talking) about their vegan hotel in Southern Spain. This lovely couple is Polish in origin and has lived and traveled all over the world. A couple of years ago, they did something that so many dream of doing; escaping the nine to five grind, the high stress, and city life in exchange for rural southern Spain. Without having jobs or a place to live they just loaded up the car and came down. I don't want to spoil the story, but in 2020 they are the owners of a vegan hotel in one of the stunning white villages in the foothills of the Sierras. Now, this hotel has actually been named by the Guardian in October 2019 as one of the top 20 best vegan and vegetarian hotels and B&Bs in Europe. I have visited although I have not stayed and I got to meet the lovely owners and they are so lovely! This is a little description of the hotel from the website and its location just to get your imagination flowing! "Meson Mudejar Vegan is located in Archez, a small village in the province of Malaga, on the foothills of the Sierra Almijara on the scenic Mudejar Route, which winds its way through some of the most picturesque white-washed villages.Archez has a beautiful valley setting. The River Turvilla runs through the village. Following the course of the river, a beautiful walk takes you up into the hills and into the neighboring village of Canillas de Albaida. Today, most of the village slopes are filled with vines, avocado, olive and fig trees, and the local farmers can be seen collecting their harvests. The character of the 18th Century building (one of the oldest in the village) – has been renovated in its traditional Mudejar style and offers you five enchanting rooms, all individually decorated. Meson Mudejar Vegan provides a great base for cycling, walking, running or any other type of active holiday. We are situated at 530 meters above sea level on the foothills of Sierra Almijara and Tejeda National Park. The setting is very impressive and the Mediterranean Sea is just 16 km drive away if you want to spend a relaxing day on the beach. Now, as we are all painfully aware, COVID19 has had a huge impact on Spain's tourism for the summer of 2020 and Meson Mudejar like so many other tour companies is really struggling. Their landlord is not giving them any rent relief and as such they are asking for support from the vegan community. I will link to the blog post in the description which talks more about their dilemma and there are many ways to supportBook a stay or buy a gift certificate (they have some incredible packages at heavily discounted prices). The dates can be changed so no need to worry and of course spread the word about even the existence for the hotel to anyone thinking about heading to Spain!Share this podcast and let any of your vegan and or cycling Iberophiles in your life know about it!I didn't realize when I scheduled this podcast that this is my second podcast in a week about Spain and third about Spain in total! Hopefully, you do not mind and are learning a little bit about this beautiful country!Learn more about what we talk aboutLocation of Kinga's and David's HotelInformation on the village that Meson Mudejar is located ArchezMalaga

According to the Madrid City Hall, El Ayuntamiento de Madrid the Spanish capital has 9,139 streets. This week I explore a handful of them with Spain travel consultant, Karen Rosenblum. At Netflix, we use machine learning (ML) algorithms extensively to recommend relevant titles to our 100+ million members based on their tastes. Everything on the member home page is an evidence-driven, A/B-tested experience that we roll out backed by ML models. These models are trained using Meson, our workflow orchestration system. Meson distinguishes itself from other workflow engines by handling more sophisticated execution graphs, such as loops and parameterized fan-outs. Meson can schedule Spark jobs, Docker containers, bash scripts, gists of Scala code, and more. Meson also provides a rich visual interface for monitoring active workflows and inspecting execution logs. It has a powerful Scala DSL for authoring workflows as well as the REST API. In this session, we focus on how Meson trains recommendation ML models in production, and how we have re-architected it to scale up for a growing need of broad ETL applications within Netflix. As a driver for this change, we have had to evolve the persistence layer for Meson. We talk about how we migrated from Cassandra to Amazon RDS backed by Amazon Aurora.
Listen to Ryan, an engineer and entrepreneur, describe the dual faceted methodology of Meson Capital in helping strong companies grow while using Machine Learning to identify potential Short positions in the public markets. Looking to build small companies (typically public companies) thru deep value evaluation, they have found that the impediment to growth of small companies with low valuations is usually poor managment, they look to improve/replace management to improve the company and stock price. With a core competency in identifying what drives change in companies and industries, they use this strength to increase the productivity and value of the company. Their second strategy is to apply Machine Learning to identifying potential short positions. This dual strategy can create opportunities in most any market condition. Listen to this very interesting conversation on the combination of activist investing and Machine Learning promtped shorting.

A measurement is presented of the ϕ×BR(ϕ→K+K−) production cross section at s√ = 7 TeV using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 383 μb−1, collected with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. Selection of ϕ(1020) mesons is based on the identification of charged kaons by their energy loss in the pixel detector. The differential cross section is measured as a function of the transverse momentum, pT,ϕ, and rapidity, yϕ, of the ϕ(1020) meson in the fiducial region 500 230 MeV and kaon momentum pK< 800 MeV. The integrated ϕ(1020)-meson production cross section in this fiducial range is measured to be σϕ×BR(ϕ→K+K−) = 570 ± 8 (stat) ± 66 (syst) ± 20 (lumi) μb.

One of the physics goals of the COMPASS experiment at CERN was to measure the contribution of gluons to the nucleon spin. To achieve this, it was proposed to scatter polarized Value{160}{GeV/c} muons on a polarized deuteron target and to detect $D$ mesons in the final state. The underlying process in this $D$ meson production is supposed to be the Gls{PGF}, where a virtual photon emitted by the muon interacts with a gluon from the target nucleon, producing a charm-anticharm quark pair. Fragmentation of a charm (anticharm) quark leads with high probability to the creation of a $DZ$ or $D^*$ meson, which COMPASS detects via the $D^0 to Kpi$ and $D^{*} to D^0 pi to Kpipi$ decay modes. From the longitudinal cross section spin asymmetries of the $D$ meson production and theoretical predictions for the Gls{PGF} cross section, the gluon contribution to the nucleon spin has been measured by the COMPASS experiment. The results presented in the thesis are the following. Based on data from the year 2004 a total visible cross section of TotalCrossSection, for the $D^*$ meson production, has been measured, with the error being dominated by systematic effects. It is validated that the $D$ mesons are indeed produced through the Gls{PGF} process, by comparison of measured $D$ meson kinematic distributions to the ones predicted by a theory (AROMA generator). A good agreement was found for the distribution shapes, which confirms that Gls{PGF} plays a major role. However, a $20%$ difference was found in the number of produced $DZ$ and $aDZ$ mesons (and for the $D^{*+}$ and $D^{*-}$ mesons as well) which is significantly larger than predicted by AROMA. Kinematic distributions of $D^0$ and $D^*$ mesons were compared with the background and also with the nearby $KTS$ resonance, using all longitudinal data taken in 2002-2006. The particle-antiparticle asymmetry has been studied as a function of several kinematic variables. The $20%$ excess of mesons decaying into $K^+pi^-$ over mesons decaying into $K^-pi^+$ was observed for all three mesons. The behavior of the $DZ/aDZ$ (and $D^{*+}/D^{*-}$) asymmetries as a function of virtual photon energy suggests that associated production of $D^{*-}Lambda_c^+$ or $overline{D^0}Lambda_c^+$ may be responsible for the observed effect. The longitudinal double spin asymmetries have been studied for the $D^0$, $D^*$ and $KTS$ mesons separately for particle, antiparticle and for the sum of particle and antiparticle. It was found that the asymmetries extracted for $D^0$ and $D^*$ mesons are compatible with zero. A 3-sigma deviation from zero asymmetry was observed for the $KTS$ meson. An investigation of the $KTS$ double spin asymmetry reveals a dependence as function of the Bjorken $x_{Bj}$ variable.
