Sometimes we hear churches find reasons why opening their doors to Christian schools or homeschool programs doesn't work for them. We've never heard of a church totally destroyed, only for the leadership to declare - "We must rebuild, and this time with a school!" That's the story of Victory Church in Bloomington, Illinois - home to Foundation Christian Academy. Hear from the executive pastor Jarrod Herald who shares how a 23,000 square foot church had to be completely leveled after a fire and what his father, the senior pastor of the church said God asked him to do in a dream when it was time to rebuild. She discusses the internal conflicts and fears associated with being overtly faith-forward in her content, highlighting the vulnerability that comes with openly sharing one's faith and beliefs.    Despite the challenges and hesitations, Lizette expresses her commitment to being more faith-forward in her approach to better serve Christian caregivers in the dementia community.   The speaker announces the rebranding of the podcast to focus more specifically on providing support to family caregivers of individuals with dementia from a Christian perspective. She emphasizes the importance of combining evidence-based practices with faith-based solutions to offer comprehensive guidance to caregivers.    Lizette invites both believers and non-believers to engage with the podcast, offering valuable insights and practical tips for managing caregiver stress and improving the caregiving experience.   In concluding the episode, Lizette encourages listeners to share the podcast with others in similar caregiving situations, seek support from their church community, and engage in open discussions about the challenges of dementia caregiving.    She highlights the significance of finding hope in faith, especially during the difficult journey of caring for someone with dementia.    Enjoy our podcast? It's Friday, March 1st, A.D. 2024.  This is The Worldview heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Afghan refugees find Christ amidst uncertainty In the aftermath of the Islamic Taliban's resurgence in Afghanistan, Afghan Christians seeking refuge in neighboring Pakistan have few choices, reports International Christian Concern. Many Afghans fled to Pakistan without visas, passports, or other identification. Sardar and his Christian family initially had difficulty getting into Pakistan after the Taliban takeover. He was abducted by the Taliban en route to the border and held until his family could pay a ransom. They managed to scrape the money together, devastating them financially. Once in Pakistan, Sardar and his family were not well received. Like the thousands of other Afghan refugees, they faced hunger and poor living conditions. With no means of work, they were at the mercy of Pakistan's refugee system. More than two years later, International Christian Concern has been caring for more 30 Christian families that fled Afghanistan for Pakistan. Plus, they've also been sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Islamic Afghan refugees in Pakistan who are spiritually open. One Christian leader said, “I started talking about the generosity of God and His sacrifice for all of humanity. These families were surprised that even God sacrificed His son for us. … I taught them about the unconditional love of Lord Jesus. They were all fascinated by this idea and His story.” In Romans 10:14-15, the Apostle Paul asked, “How, then, can they call on the One they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News!'” Within the last year, this Christian leader has baptized 22 Afghan refugees who recently professed faith in Christ. Christian school counselor, opposed to perversion, gets right to appeal A British school employee, fired for social media posts opposing homosexual and transgender materials in class, has won the right to take her dismissal to the United Kingdom Court of Appeal, reports Christian Daily International. Kristie Higgs, a 47-year-old Christian mother of two, won the right in a ruling late last month by Judge Elisabeth Laing of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. Higgs' attorneys had argued that her case should not be sent back to the same employment tribunal that had made serious errors. Higgs worked for seven years as a student counseling assistant at Farmor's School in Fairford, Gloucestershire, before her dismissal in 2019. In a video interview with the Christian Legal Centre, which is supporting her defense, she said, “It's shocking to think I've lost my job because of one parent who complained to the school because they didn't agree with what I shared on my Facebook page, and for the school to take sides with that parent is hard to believe.” HIGGS: “I was discriminated for my Christian beliefs. I was just sharing my concerns of what's coming into the schools and what was coming into my son's school.” Higgs shared and posted the disputed messages on her personal Facebook page after receiving an invitation on October 5, 2018, from the Church of England primary school that her younger son attended.  Entitled “Teaching the Equality Act in Schools,” the invitation read, “This year, we are using several story books to help our school community promote diversity and celebrate difference.” The letter invited parents to see the books and lesson plans at a school event. Higgs said only she, another parent, and a grandparent attended the viewing.   She saw books such as Jacob's New Dress by Sarah Hoffman, about a boy who likes to wear dresses. She said, “To me, it didn't seem to be that it was just about anti-bullying. There seemed to be something more underlying, with the Jacob's New Dress, how children could choose their own gender. I thought it was very confusing for my child because of our Christian beliefs.” That's why Higgs uploaded the Citizens Go petition link on October 24, 2018, which was headlined, “Uphold the right of parents to have children educated in line with their religious beliefs. Stop supporting LGBT indoctrination.” The petition was directed to then-U.K. Education Secretary Damian Hinds. In Psalm 56:3-4, David wrote, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, Whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?” HIGGS: “As parents, who are also standing up, especially [in] America, they're reading what's actually in the books. It's very concerning, very alarming, very harmful and it's got to stop!” When she was sent home, she said her school superiors “thought the posts I was sharing were homophobic and very negative, [saying], ‘Did you realize other parents would see these?'” First, she was suspended, then she endured a disciplinary hearing for six hours on December 19, 2018, and finally fired by letter on January 7, 2019, without warning, for “gross misconduct.” Kristie Higgs explained that not too long ago the Church of England school taught “my child God's way, and now they are changing it.” Democrats upset with Biden to vote “uncommitted” in primaries Organizers are pushing for Democratic voters to select or write in “uncommitted” on their ballots in upcoming primaries, spurred on by the success of a campaign in Michigan protesting President Biden's handling of the Israel-Hamas war, reports TheHill.com. More than 100,000 Michiganders cast a protest vote against Biden for an “uncommitted” ballot option in Tuesday's primary, underscoring the frustration many Americans feel toward the administration amid growing calls for a cease-fire. Now, activists are pushing for similar protest votes in states including Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Washington as they seek to dial up pressure on Biden to heed their calls or risk losing their votes. Wildfire in Texas Panhandle largest in state history On Thursday, a dusting of snow covered a desolate landscape of scorched prairie, dead cattle, and burned out homes in the Texas Panhandle, giving firefighters  brief relief in their desperate efforts to corral a blaze that has grown into the largest in state history, reports the Associated Press. The Smokehouse Creek fire grew to nearly 1,700 square miles. It merged with another fire and is just 3% contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. Gray skies loomed over huge scars of blackened earth in a rural area dotted with scrub brush, ranchland, rocky canyons, and oil rigs. In Stinnett, a town of about 1,600, Dylan Phillips, age 24, said he hardly recognized his neighborhood, which was littered with melted street signs and the charred frames of cars and trucks.  While his family's home survived, at least a half a dozen others were smoking rubble. Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott has issued a disaster declaration for 60 counties and plans to visit the Panhandle today. In this world we need more, not less, forgiveness. But seeking and granting forgiveness are not well understood and poorly practiced. One Christian counselor teaches that apologizing is the world's substitute for forgiving. He points out that there is not a single reference in the Bible to apologizing. It is an unbiblical concept. It allows the wrongdoer to tell you how he feels ("I'm sorry") without acknowledging his sin and it does not ask the one sinned against to grant forgiveness.

Aaliyah grew up a devout Muslim but now makes adult content for the online service OnlyFans. She's often pictured wearing a hijab. Aaliyah is her stage name. She's had death threats but believes that expressing her sexuality and making her own choices about her body are empowering. She has also had support from young Muslim women and couples. She was brought up in the UK as a Muslim and began to question her faith at the age of 12, when her parents got divorced. She says, “My work now is definitely a rebellion against my upbringing. I'm tired of being told how women should be”. Aaliyah still describes herself as Muslim, and feels that her sex work is more important than the version of Islam she grew up with. Can you be a sex worker and still follow your faith? Sex work has always challenged religion. Although it's broadly considered immoral within Christianity, Islam and Judaism, sacred texts carry some mixed messages. Women sex workers often see male religious leaders condemning them in public, whilst buying their services in private. In Bangalore in India, women at a sex workers cooperative think religion is compatible with their work. One Christian, who's a mother and wife, says her family don't know how she makes her living. “I can talk to God about it when I can't talk to my husband”. In Nigeria, a Muslim sex worker we're calling Zara operates in an area where sex work is illegal and dangerous. But she draws strength from her faith. “I know what God says about selling sex, that it's against the religion but he understands that I have to do it.”

In the first of this two-part audio documentary series, The Athletic's Adam Leventhal heads to the capital of Turkey's south-eastern province of Hatay - home of first-division side Hatayspor - where former Ghana international and Premier League winger Christian Atsu scored a last-minute free kick, just hours before the first earthquake hit on February 6th. Adam interviews head coach and former Turkish international goalkeeper Volkan Demirel, as well as various other people connected to Hatayspor, about their lasting memories of Atsu and how the football club is trying to help an entire community rebuild. It's a harrowing insight into the realities of surviving a natural disaster and the scale of the destruction. Produced by Adonis Pratsides Learn more about your ad choices. Show NotesJosh Parikh is an old friend of ours having contributed to our Discussion Groups over many years as a Christian Apologist who has always thought deeply about the issues and maintained intellectual integrity. He has been on a journey, especially having engaged with Biblical scholarship. This has overlapped with his time at Oxford University and continued since graduating. Like many, he has remained a Christian and has moved in a ‘progressive' direction. Josh recently gave a talk “A Tumultuous Period in Apologetics?” to the “Unbelievable Christian and Skeptic Discussion Group” in London, and we were eager to have him share that material on the show. Josh sees a crisis not just in the scandals such as with Ravi Zacharias but at a root conflict between the aims of apologetics in conservative Christianity and the commitments involved in genuine scholarship. We had so much to talk about that we will need 2 shows to benefit fully from Josh's wisdom. “ The paths we are going down are 2000 years old.” - John Imagine waking up knowing that today could be the day that you could be caught and found guilty by your family and by the court system and the only “crime” you are guilty of is following Jesus. About 1 in 8 Christians are in countries that it is illegal to follow Jesus openly. It's even higher in Africa at 1 in 6 (https://www.forbes.com/.../one-in-eight-christians.../...) On this weeks show Kurt and Chad welcome “Phillip” and his son John, to talk about following Jesus in North Africa, especially in Egypt and the challenges that come along with it, as well as the advantages, being in a place where the Gospel is not supposed to grow. In this part of the world, there's just ONE Christian missionary for every 400,000 people. “Phillip” was attacked physically as a young man in college because of his faith almost 50 years ago. It did not keep him from the faith, but spurred him on. His son is now following in his footsteps, on a path that leads to almost certain resistance, and God's power and grace. Would you lose it all from earth's perspective to gain it all from Heaven's? (That's the call on our lives!) To contact this ministry: streamsamb1@modernmail.net

In the end times, says Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ of glory, false teachers with their false doctrine will abound.None will be more eloquent than the so-called Anti-Christ, but there will be many, far too many with the eloquence of Satan who, were it not for the influence and protection of the Holy Spirit, would be able to persuade the very elect themselves. Many Christian scholars believe the end times are upon us. They have their beginning, and the time is short. The great prophetic events are near including the rapture, the advent of the Anti-Christ, Armageddon, and the second return of Jesus Christ, among others. Be ready, says the scriptures, be watchmen and women on the walls and joyfully await the return of the Lord on high. I trust you are a believer, a full believer in those biblical promises and you are:READY.Are you?In this turncoat day and age, there are those who believe that the gospel, the saving grace of Jesus Christ has lost its power, its ability to persuade and convince, and even its ability to bring the salvation message to a lost mankind. They are about the mission, these newly woke Christians, to change that, and backed by millions and millions of dollars, they are about the business of:REBRANDING OF JESUS.The Lord of all, in their view, has become the Lord of just some. Some others have been marginalized, excluded so these new Christian woke-rs say by far too fundamental conservative evangelicals that Jesus Christ needs to be rebranded, remarketed, and made available to especially the LGBTQ community, certain races and ethnicities. They change the dynamic of relationship, reverse the priorities of the gospel, and announce an all-inclusive, less demanding approach to inclusion, even to salvation and announce to all the world a newly prioritized gospel, a newly discovered message of Jesus Christ that:HE GETS US!  The gospel message is reversed. The Lord of glory, they say, is ready to embrace anyone, as they are, to love and accept them as they are, and consequently on THEIR terms rather than HIS. The real gospel, however, indicates that the real message is:WE GET HIM!That message for the re-branders is too strong, too exclusive, hurtful, and unwelcoming. So, in their infinite wisdom, they change it, reverse it, and announce to all the world, especially the LGBTQ community, that HE GETS YOU and He will accept you as you are, no matter whether how you live, believe, or interpret scripture conflicts with Him and His teachings (the Holy Bible). One Christian scholar rightly called such an approach BLASPHEMY. Another called it HERESY. Those who believe in the inspired Word of God know this nice-nice approach, an easy-going Jesus, not the demanding yet loving Savior of the scriptures, is WRONG, DEAD WRONG. Blasphemy indeed. A sad distortion of scripture, the moral message of our Lord's words (rebranding) constructed by the Evil One himself. The sad thing is these REBRANDERS have tens of millions of dollars behind them. In fact, they intend to spend as much as ONE BILLION DOLLARS in a three-year period to rewrite scripture, rebrand Jesus of Nazareth and the Christ of glory and spread this blasphemy worldwide. Many biblical scholars see this heresy as a very tangible sign of the END TIMES. HE GETS US is the fruit of false teachers, subtle, sound-good, soft and loving (all-inclusive) but:WRONG, DEAD WRONG!The Christ message is clear. All have sinned and come short. All need to recognize that, request forgiveness and reconciliation to a Holy God and the salvation offered by the crucifixion of the Son of the Living God. He does in fact get us, knowing our sinful nature (hate speech today), offering himself as the sacrifice for us, for our transgressions and the way, THE ONLY WAY to the FATHER. Anything which changes, eliminates, or waters down that truism corrupts the essential teaching of scripture itself, is inspired by Satan and is just plain:WRONG - BIBLICALLY WRONG!You can indeed come as you are to HIM. Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ of glory, will welcome you with open arms but only if you seek his forgiveness, his loving forgiveness and recognize your need and the emphatic statement of our Lord:EXCEPT A MAN OR WOMAN BE BORN AGAIN, HE OR SHE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD!That saving grace can and must change ways, habits, lifestyles, and former beliefs. His blood on the cross was a brutal price to pay, but the way to salvation and the only way to the Kingdom and the Father. Anything which REBRANDS this direct, unequivocal, absolutely true message is in fact blasphemy, heresy and:DEAD WRONG.  These rebranders with this message are indeed false teachers spreading a false gospel and with a billion-dollar campaign, will mislead so many. Signs of the end times my friends. I pray you defend against this heresy, this blasphemy, this reversal of the salvation message and stand tall for the biblical version, the only true version of the person and message of the Savior of the world:JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE CHRIST OF GLORY!He needs no rebranding. He only needs to be accepted and embraced AS HE IS!

Give to help Chris do Truce full time! Tennessee was the first state in the United States to crack down hard on the teaching of evolution in public schools. Others had dabbled, but Tennessee went all the way. The ACLU wanted to challenge the validity of the case in the courts. In order to do that they needed an educator to teach it, get busted, and be brought to trial. At the same time, the town of Dayton, TN needed a boost. After the biggest employer closed down it faced serious economic trouble. What if the men of Dayon could manufacture a court case to draw the attention of the nation? They found a young teacher named John Scopes and convinced him to participate in their scheme. They booked Scopes, even though he probably never taught evolution. The ACLU had its case. Soon William Jennings Bryan and Clarence Darrow hopped on board and it went from a publicity stunt to something for the history books. This is the event that some historians (wrongly) point to as the death of Christian fundamentalism in the United States until it was revived by the Moral Majority. One man fighting for the biblical idea of creation and another for godless atheism. But the real history is far more complex. Edward Larson, professor at Pepperdine University, joins us to discuss the trial and his Pulitzer Prize-winning book "Summer for the Gods". Parents, raise children to be responsible. Are you yourself? How do you change? “He who endures to the end shall be saved.” Church with Jesse Lee Peterson, Sunday, August 21, 2022: Jesse opens by recounting points from a meeting he had recently: Parents, raise your children with practical responsibility, so they're ready to face life and grow spiritually. Don't let them be dependent or try to be someone else. Question: Are you yourself? The world's religion is anger. One man says his wife secretly tells his son that Jesus was angry. The boy wishes his dad would tell her to “shut up” more. There's a difference between anger and discernment. It's a spiritual battle. One Christian lady doubts she can live without anger; she breaks down crying when Jesse tells her to forgive her mother. Her husband says he does not deal with anger, but she feels he angrily speaks to her in Bible study. Once you forgive, you can love others when they're wrong. Biblical Question: Jesus said: He who endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 24: 13). What does this mean? New Biblical Q: Are memories of you you? The parents and children were active church members. They loved Jesus. They believed they were sinners saved by God's grace. They also believed what the Bible says about gender, that God made us Male and Female, that we are born into as one of those two sexes. So, it was a gut-wrenching surprise when their twelve-year-old daughter decided one day that she was a boy and wanted to be called the pronouns 'they/them'. What's a Christian family supposed to do? The secular world celebrates the transgender ideology. At school "Grace" (not her real name) became popular, something she wasn't before. But when she transitioned back to being a girl, there was only silence. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, journalist Sarah Zylstra talks about her article in "The Gospel Coalition" and her interview with the family about their long journey of walking with Grace through becoming a transgender boy, and then what they did, and didn't do, that made Grace transition back to being their daughter. As more and more families face this situation, Zylstra's words shed much needed light on the murky waters of "Rapid-onset Gender Dysphoria." For this family, it was faith that gave them the strength to obey God, rather than the world. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

An imam (Muslim leader) in Bangladesh was reading the Quran when he came across the name of a person he didn't know much about: Isa (Jesus). As a local mosque leader, he felt he should learn more about this person mentioned in the Quran, so he asked around his village for a book about Jesus. He was given a New Testament and began to read—and soon recognized that Isa is far more than a prophet. He's the Son of God and the only way of salvation! But following Jesus can be dangerous in a place where Christians are persecuted, as this now-former imam learned. That's just one of the stories you'll hear this week from Matthew Hanson, VOM's regional leader for South and Central Asia. Matthew will also share what Christians in India are facing in the face of a Hindu nationalist government and a nationwide network of radical Hindus infiltrating churches, persecuting pastors or instilling fear in the local people to persecute their own neighbors because of their faith. In spite of that persecution, though, he says Indian Christians—including children—are responding with grace and boldness to their persecutors. You'll also hear the story of a Nepali missionary working in a difficult place—and how God miraculously helped her learn the language in only six months! Matthew will equip listeners to pray for our brothers and sisters in South Asia who are being disowned and threatened by family members because of the gospel. One Christian woman whose entire family rejected her said, “Jesus has given me life. He is real. He is the only God.” Pray believers in South Asia will continue to hold their confidence in Christ.
