Firefighter Ray Wynn died of cancer caused by the gear he wore to fight fires. He discovered this after he was diagnosed with cancer and began his research with his wife Jean. It will include 20 types of cancers- brain, lung, prostate, breast, esophageal, bladder, brain, cervical, colon, colorectal, kidney, leukemia, malignant melanoma, mesothelioma, multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkins's lymphoma, ovarian, skin, stomach, testicular, thyroid      This is a HUGE first step, and we are very thankful for all the support and hard work so many put into lobbying to get this legislation pushed through from the union reps, firefighters, lobbyist, surviving spouses and families,  Democrats and Republicans that worked together and voted for this much needed change.  We have many people that have supported these efforts, and I am proud of the accomplishments our Honoring Our Fallen Heroes ACT activism group made and are actively still working to help families.  Thank you from all our First Responder Families.

Ahmad Butler described the headache that he was dealing with as "Pain On The Brain" in February of 2015, a headache that was almost immediately checked out, and one day later Ahmad was undergoing Emergency Brain Surgery at St. Christoper's Hospital in Philadelphia. This surgery revealed that Ahmad was suffering from the Pediatric Brain Cancer Ependymoma. Ahmad lived for only 9 months after his diagnosis, passing away at 6 1/2 years old in November of 2015, and his Grandmother Latanya Morrison started the Ahmad Butler Foundation in 2020, a Foundation that she has been running with unyielding focus and passion.

These are heroic ballads from the borderlands that emerged between the 9th and 11th centuries, highlighting semi- mythological figures like the legendary Digenis Akritas. Passed down through performances at festivals and weddings -- often created and performed by or for rural peasants -- these songs provide rare insight into the lives, struggles, and values of marginalized medieval communities. Their transmission reflects both elite and popular storytelling styles, often mixing Homeric, Christian, and local themes. In Cyprus, these songs were adapted into the local dialect. They also included unique Cypriot experiences, like in The Song of Antzoules, which reflects Cypriot responses to events in Anemourion in Anatolia and subsequent Frankish rule. In Cyprus, the legend of Digenis is imprinted on the land itself, from his handprint on the Pentadaktylos to the rocks of Petra tou Romiou, once believed to have been hurled at Saracen ships by Digenis himself!
