O novo episódio do podcast Rádio Decidendi já está no ar e traz uma palestra da professora Flávia Piovesan, da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, sobre a participação social e a promoção dos direitos dos grupos vulnerabilizados no âmbito dos precedentes. Ela destacou que os precedentes importam, primeiramente, por trazerem segurança jurídica, previsibilidade e estabilidade, mas também importam por promoverem isonomia, eficiência e efetividade jurisdicional, criando a ideia de um sistema jurídico único e íntegro.   A professora abordou a experiência do sistema interamericano em relação aos precedentes na proteção e na promoção dos direitos dos grupos vulneráveis. Segundo ela, tal sistema foi criado para funcionar a partir da participação social. "Por exemplo, ontem foi feito um painel sobre mudança climática, e a Corte Interamericana abriu um espaço para colher vozes das universidades, das organizações sociais e dos Estados", comentou. Para a especialista, é importante estender a interpretação constitucional a vários intérpretes. "Parece central na pavimentação, no desenvolvimento e na consolidação dos precedentes que haja esse movimento de baixo para cima, e não só de cima para baixo, pois é a partir da representatividade que o jurisdicionado vai se reconhecer nessa formação", disse. Carole Piovesan is the Managing Partner of INQ Law, which helps clients navigate complex data collection and use regulations. She counsels clients on matters including privacy, cyber readiness and breach response, data governance, ethical AI, and responsible innovation. As a member of the OECD.AI Policy Observatory, Carole helps shape data law, policy, and standards in Canada and globally, contributing to various organizations, including the Global Partnership on AI. As a seasoned litigator, Carole has represented clients within all levels of court in Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada. She teaches, speaks, and writes about cybersecurity, privacy, data law, and AI topics and has been featured on the CBC and other news outlets. Carole is an Adjunct Professor of AI regulation at the University of Toronto and the co-editor of Leading Legal Disruption. Carole was appointed by the federal Minister of Innovation to serve as one of six digital leaders in the national data and digital transformation consultations. Matheus is originally from Brazil and moved to the UK when he was 30 years old. We also discuss the mental process behind putting on one of his showcase music nights, the highs and lows and what happens behind the scenes. For Matheus's mental health, we discuss the impact that moving to the UK had on his mental health. We talk about why he felt he had to ‘prove' himself in the UK as an immigrant more than native-born English people in the workplace and to build his career. We also discuss his sexuality as a gay man and the struggles he had in accepting this growing up, bullying he experienced in school for it and his experience of therapy, which he has done for the last five years. We finish by talking about the positives he's found in tools like therapy as well as meditation, yoga and exercise in managing and improving his mental health. She is a member of the Data Governance Working Group for the Global Partnership on AI, as well as an advisor to several AI start-ups. In 2018, Carole was appointed by the federal Minister of Innovation to serve as one of six Digital Leaders in the national data and digital transformation consultations. In this role, she led consultations with businesses, academics, civil society and industry associations to inform the first national Digital Charter. Announced on May 21, 2019, the Digital Charter has led to significant proposed reforms to Canada's federal private sector privacy law.

Abstract: Intrinsically disordered proteins defying the traditional protein structure-function paradigm represent a challenge to study experimentally. As a large part of our knowledge rests on computational predictions, it is crucial for their accuracy to be high. The Critical Assessment of protein Intrinsic Disorder prediction (CAID) experiment was established as a community-based blind test to determine the state of the art in predicting intrinsically disordered regions in proteins and the subset of disordered residues involved in binding other molecules. A total of 43 methods, 32 for disorder and 11 for binding regions, were evaluated on a dataset of 646 proteins. The best methods use modern machine learning techniques and significantly outperform widely used first-generation methods across different types of targets. Disordered binding regions remain hard to predict correctly, which offers significant potential for improvement. Intriguingly, some of the top performing methods are also among the fastest. The state of healthcare right now has created physicians who are caught up with insurance and sick care. Because of this, these physicians have lost sight of being a true healer. On the other hand, physician’s assistants are in the trenches, focusing on helping patients in a meaningful way. What are the key differences between the approach a physician’s assistant takes and how a doctor treats patients? How can we not only optimize ourselves to be better, but restore what we had when we were younger? On this episode, biohacker and Regenerative and Age Management expert, AJ Piovesan, shares on using peptides, and overcoming the obstacle of sick care medicine.    Three Takeaways  Physician’s assistants try and buffer the physical and mental effects of ageing by giving people things their bodies can naturally use without interfering with their health with chemicals.  When it comes to weightlifting, it’s more about quality than quantity and how long you can keep a joint lubricated. The point about AI is, it is creating a system that can reduce operational cost and do things that other humans could otherwise do faster, more accurately and cheaper.   What are some of the big ethical considerations that we should think about?   We need to use the approach of data mindfully and responsibly. We also need to understand that artificial intelligence or the massive data sector that is being used for a predictive value will go forward. AI is using the data that existed 10 years ago and the questions would become, “what was 10 years ago and what would we like in the next 10 years look like”. For Cambridge Scandal exposed an issue that is not technically legal but it is a social issue about the use of data for collateral purposes and is not the original purpose of collecting the data. CBC Marketplace - are your Apps spying on you?   Carole shared the three main legal buckets to using artificial intelligence that consumers should be aware of and consider:   Input - when you are using a ton of data what you need to be thinking about as a business are: How your data is going to be used How is it collected For what purpose What is the nature of that data Where is the data being stored and is it secured?   Contract - if you are buying a system, you should be thinking about who is going to maintain it overtime whether you have the in-house skill to do so or somebody else to do so. If you need to maintain a third party relationship then you should think about how are you  going to manage that relationship over time and what does it look like overtime.
