Today on the show we have Ryan Conway. Ryan is the founder of the Digital Tradesman and he helps build scalable, repeatable, and predictable sales systems and websites for contractors. Contractors are in a unique position in the world where they are typically not very technically savvy and don't exactly know what they need in terms of good digital marketing systems and so they spend a lot of time struggling through that and aren't able to get as many clients as they want. Ryan helps build these websites and systems so that these contractors can get to the work that they love most. Today on the show, we are going to be working together with him to craft a story that he can use to make his message reach them and showcase his value and why it is worth it to get an all-in-one solution with all of the systems built together instead of piecing little things here and there. I am going to take him through the interview process that I go through with all of my private clients and help him craft a story. In This Episode: I'm going to be crafting a story with Ryan on this episode today. Building a website is like building a house. There are all these different pieces that you need to figure out and connect. Just having a website is one piece. Don't focus so much on how we are going to do something but talk about the results you can get. And so much more!!! Joining them are Ryan Conway, The Athletic's Derby County writer, Tommy Wathen, the Sport Social Media Editor for the Mirror, Express and Star, as well as Rebecca Myers of The Sunday Times. Working in journalism and the media comes with incredible opportunities. The days are fast-paced, you get to speak to remarkable people and you can make a difference with your voice or your words. But it also comes with significant struggles - the long hours, risk of burnout, stress and also social media abuse. Mental health in journalism isn't often talked about but - particularly in the pandemic - it's something that needs a spotlight shone onto it. It's one of the reasons why the website Newsbreak was created during the pandemic as a place for journalists to share their mental health stories. There hasn't been a proper conversation and, with most of us trading newsrooms for our homes, isolation has also been a battle. In this podcast episode we look to unpick some of the mental health issues in the media as we all try and share some practical advice for what has worked for us, as well as how we individually cope with social media, which can be toxic at times. Above all, even those days where you struggle, the chances are you are not along and journalists can help each other during these unprecedented times. If you are struggling with your mental health here are some organisations who can help Samaritans: Phone 116 123, 24 hours a day, or email jo@samaritans.org, in confidence Childline: Phone 0800 1111. Jason and Cory sit down with Ryan Conway from The Athletic to discuss Derby County's season so far. Is it surprising the Derby County bottom of the league in November? How did he view the set of fixtures from the last international break until now? Where does the fault lie? It is solely a coaching issue? Or do the playing staff share some blame as well? We discuss Martyn Waghorn and Colin Kazim-Richards and discuss the changeover in players since last season. Is Ryan surprised that Phillip Cocu continues to makes rookie mistakes? We also get Ryan's insights on NFL positions of Derby players, his love of turtlenecks and his love for Derby and it's fans. Give it a listen today. Comment, rate, like, share and subscribe. Bleak. Abject. Excruciating. Just three of the more polite words we can use to describe Derby County's start to the 2020/21 campaign, as yet another defeat (that's seven in 11 games) leaves the Rams propping up the Championship. Chris, Richard and Tom are joined by Ryan Conway from The Athletic to assess just how on earth the Rams ended up in this position... and if they have enough to get out of it. There's also passionate, lively discussion of Derby's impending takeover by a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family - how it could completely transform the face and wealth of our club, while also bringing significant ethical concerns. Oh, and there's a quiz too. Enjoy SBW? RATE US ON APPLE PODCASTS! EMAIL: stevebloomerswashing@gmail.com @stevebloomerpod

On this episode, Troy talks to Ryan Conway about how Ryan started his career working with short sales, foreclosures and REOs. Ryan shares what it was like in 2007-8, when every neighborhood had at least a dozen foreclosures in it, and it was a highly beneficial option for a buyer to look for one. He also discusses his experience with short sales and bankruptices, and how he helped clients navigate unique situation. He explains why he doesn't think the current economic environment during COVID is the same, because most people do have equity in their homes, market values are high, there's low inventory, and the mortgages people have now are not sub prime. He also shares the hurdles he faced when he got successful enough to build a team, and what working with his mom as his partner was like.

This week I talked with Playmakers FC Podcast host, and Prost Amerika writer, Conor Dunford. We spoke just after a disappointing draw at home to Newcastle. The 5th consecutive match in which Saints failed to score. A match where the team denied him press access and dropped points to the side entering the day on the bottom of the table. It was, in part due to other circumstances in my life at the time, a hard podcast to record. And, none of it matters. Not the result, not Saints’ table position. Nothing. We recorded all of this before he or I knew anything of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of 5 people after Leicester City’s draw at home to West Ham. It put things into perspective, but that perspective doesn’t exactly show up on the podcast, and I just want to be very clear that we recorded the podcast without any knowledge of the crash. Since then, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to take my dad and my so to game 5 of the World Series, where the Red Sox clinched the title over the Dodgers. My son and my dad are both huge Dodger fans. He and I spent a lot of time in Dodger Stadium when I was a kid, so to be able to take him there for the pinnacle of the sport was truly special. To have my son be a part of it as well, and with the reminder that life is short and fragile fresh on my mind, I can say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Perspective is important. To the family of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and the supporters of Leicester City, and to all the people that are hurting from a loss, I’m sorry. I hope we can continue to come together and support those who need it, whenever they need it. You can follow Conor Dunford, Playmakers FC and Prost Amerika below. We also discussed grief and sport and there is a specific piece mentioned by Conor.
