pablopablo - born Pablo Drexler - is a Madrid-based singer, songwriter, and producer. The son of two acclaimed artists, Jorge Drexler and Ana Laan, here he talks about how he found his own voice, sound, and artistic identity. His debut full-length album, Canciones en mi, is out now. The title is a bilingual play on words—“in E” (as in the musical key), and “in me”—and it perfectly captures the spirit of the record: introspective, expressive, and sonically bold. Pablo shares the story of growing up in a small town outside Madrid with a big, multilingual worldview. We discuss his early experiments in music and production, his years studying abroad, and his time touring and collaborating with artists like C. Tangana. He opens up about stepping away from the Drexler name—on the advice of his father—to make space for his music to be heard on its own terms. We dive deep into questions of identity, language, and legacy: Why does he now write exclusively in Spanish? What does it mean to create a sound that feels personal without being confessional? How do you balance the instinct to innovate with the desire to stay grounded? Along the way, we talk about the emotional clarity that comes with pressure, the power of building a sonic world, and the beauty of embracing simple ideas and making them feel new. At just 27, Pablo Pablo is already a Latin Grammy-winning artist, having contributed to major collaborations with Jorge Drexler, C. Tangana, and Nathy Peluso. But Canciones en mi is his proper introduction as a solo artist—and it's a striking one. This is a conversation about roots and branches, about staying true while branching out, and about what happens when you finally find the music that sounds like you. www.third-story.com www.leosidran.substack.com

This is a particular selection by Mestizo Sounds of music produced in Spain. The scope of the music covers from pop to dance with hip hop, flamenco rumba and rock. Mostly uptempo beat but also a couple of mid-tempo tunes with great lyrics (in Spanish). BLURB: "Spanish Bombs" was a song by the Clash in the essential album “London Calling”. Since then this has been the title adopted by some music compilers to select some of the most remarkable Spanish Music. My selection is based on my formative years as a music fan. Some of the tracks are from the era known in Spain as “La Movida”. This is a period between the late seventies and mid-eighties when the young people free of the political oppression brought by the dictatorship once Franco died in 1975 expressed themselves through music with the creation of hundreds of record Indi labels and bands influenced by the Punk and Post Punk movement in the UK and US. I have included a native style of music such as rumba Flamenca, always part of the most popular Spanish music played on the radio, especially in the summer season, with the classic song of A Chili Pu by Dolores Vargas “La Terremoto” from 1971. There is also a new millenium take on rumba with the track "Vacileo" produced by Macaco, a notable contemporary solo artist, who was a member of the internationally acclaimed band Ojos de Brujo. Extremoduro is one of the greatest bands of Spanish rock music. Their hard rock music influenced by Frank Zappa has always had a very strong lyrical aspect. Pop, Hip hop and Dance music are also included by various artists in most of the cases from this millennium. MUSIC 1- El coche de la Plas - PVP 2- Radio 222 - LOS ESQUELETOS 3- Otra Dimensión - ALASKA Y LOS PEGAMOIDES 4- La Casa de la Bomba - BRIGHTON 64 5- Baby me vuelves loca - GUADALUPE PLATA 6- A Chili Pu - DOLORES VARGAS “LA TERREMOTO” 7- Vacileo - OJOS DE BRUJO 8- Veneno en la Piel - RADIO FUTURA 9- Rolando - O'FUNKILLO 10- anonymous ( a track found in a cd made by amateur Spanish hip hop artists but there is no credits) 11- La Cocinera - MALA RODRIGUEZ 12- Buscando la luna - EXTREMODURO 13- Del Montón - SR CHINARRO 14- Futbol-In - JAVI P3Z ORQUESTA 15- Sube el tocadiscos - FUNDACION TONY MANERO 16- Como pudiste hacerme esto a mí (Remix) - ALASKA Y DINARAMA 17- Bombay - EL GUINCHO
