In this new conversation, Dr. Robert Malone and Rav Arora discuss the complexities surrounding vaccine authorization, the divisions within MAHA, the implications of FDA policies, and the recent MAHA Commission report. They emphasize the need for a nuanced understanding of vaccine efficacy and the political dynamics influencing public health decisions. The discussion also touches on the future of vaccines, the importance of advocacy, and the challenges faced in the regulatory landscape. The Illusion of Consensus is a reader-supported publication. There was a time not so long ago when it seemed like the most consequential conversations in our society were happening on social media. But as the digital commons spawned mobs, performative posturing and rage-baiting, a lot of those conversations went private. That's one takeaway from the recent Semafor report on the private group chats between tech titans, business leaders and public intellectuals. Marketplace's Meghan McCarty Carino spoke with Amy Webb, founder and CEO of the Future Today Strategy Group, about the growth of what she calls the Splinternet.

I wrote a note in January regarding BKS (which I will not post because of some sensitive information), and here I share a summary, created by Google Gemini NotebookLM. SummaryRajeev Srinivasan argues that India can use technology to advance its traditional knowledge systems (BKS). He proposes developing a "BharatLLM" – a large language model trained on Indian texts – to preserve Bharatiya concepts and create a "Splinternet" of domain-specific text repositories. This would allow for machine translation into Sanskrit, protect intellectual property, and foster research in BKS. Srinivasan acknowledges challenges like access to computational resources and copyright issues, but believes that building these systems could benefit India's cultural heritage and technological advancements.=========The podcast above is also created by the same LM and its Deep dive audio output, which is amazing, and the male and female hosts are uncannily human. This episode of Yours Lawfully will explore the deeply controversial concept of the Spliternet. As the global internet and cyberspaces gain more prominence in our daily lives, deeper regulation by nation states and governments risk fracturing the internet from a global common 'world wide web' to national or regionalized siloed networks governed by a different set of laws across the world. How will this phenomenon affect the relationship the global citizenry has with the internet as a medium of global communication and information? Is the spliternet a possible future for the internet or is it a foregone reality? And if it is inevitable, what could be possible solutions to solve this problem?Join Omer Imran Malik, Sukriti Nigam and Cecilia Leung as they interview Professor Anupam Chander - an alumni of Harvard College and Yale Law School and one of the foremost global experts on information technology and surveillance law on how this much theorized doomsday theory is fast becoming reality and what can we do to understand it and tackle it as we enter the 21st century.
The once open and global internet could be beginning to fracture, due to varying forces such as geopolitics and regulations. It's an idea known as the “splinternet” - and the implications could be huge. CNBC's Arjun Kharpal and Tom Chitty discuss what this means for technology and our world in this episode of Beyond the Valley.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The Asia Pacific Internet Governance Forum is on in Brisbane with hundreds of delegates from the region gathering to discuss how to govern the unwieldy beast that is the world wide web of things. With many large states wanting to govern the online space on their own right, how can users get a seat at the table and prevent the internet becoming the splinternet? And how can we bring a human rights agenda to internet governance going forward? Brett Solomon is on the ground to report back.
In a week where: World Athletics bans transgender women from competing in international track and field competitions. France has multiple protests go violent after Macron's forced pension age rise. Jonathan Majors is arrested in New York for Alleged Assault. TikTok CEO is grilled for over five hours by US Congress. Humza Yousaf wins the Scottish National Party leadership contest. In Politics: (13:09) Boris Johnson is in the news again because we can't just have him go away. So since he wants attention, let's talk about how he got £5M 6 months after leaving office. In Tech: (25:16) With "The West" going on an all out offensive to ban TikTok, it's splitting the Internet as a whole, as if it wasn't already. In the first of two Life segments: (35:07) Creative people swear by a lot of things that help them when it comes to their creativity - like drugs - but apparently none of it makes you more creative.Lastly, in the 2nd Life segment: (48:55) Finding purpose in life is maybe the biggest task for anyone. To have that thing that you're built for. So here's something that might help you if you haven't found your purpose.Thank you for listening! Blockchain and financial applications have been linked from the beginning. When Satoshi Nakamato published the original Bitcoin white paper in 2008, he titled it, “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.” Today, the lion's share of crypto headlines are about financial losses. So it's understandable that people associate chains with financial assets. But open, public blockchains have massive utility beyond financial applications. One of the first innovators to recognize this potential was Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin*. In Ethereum, the Russian-Canadian computer programmer has conceived, developed, and upgraded a decentralized chain with smart-contract functionality and made it into a transformative piece of infrastructure that enables new forms of political, corporate, and social organizations. (USDC circulates on many blockchains; as of January 12, 2023, a majority of the supply circulates on Ethereum.) In a conversation they recorded this past September in San Francisco at Converge22, Circle's inaugural ecosystem summit, Vitalik and Jeremy Allaire reviewed Ethereum's important technological progress, impediments to scaling utility, and the new models of cooperation this base layer of trust can enable.

Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The shifting geopolitical economics following Russia's invasion of Ukraine has led to the reappearance of the word “Splinternet”. In recent years some countries have created the physical infrastructure to potentially run many internet services outside of the reach of the global network of networks most people know as the internet. As sanctions are imposed, popular websites and social networks blocked, and economic lines are drawn, could some countries like Russia and China withdraw completely, developing different protocols of connection within their borders – and maybe beyond - that might become incompatible with those of the current internet? Emma Taylor, CEO of Oxford Information Labs, drops into Digital Planet to discuss the fears. When scientists analyze fallen meteorites they provide invaluable clues about the history of our solar system. Antarctica is a good place to look as they are seldom disturbed, and arguably easier to spot. Yet It is a vast and hard to access area. Could big data and AI provide a guide to help researchers know where to look? Veronica Tollenaar and colleagues at the Glaciology Laboratory at the Université libre de Bruxelles, in Belgium think so. In a recent paper in the journal Science Advances, Veronica and her colleagues have described their algorithm for constructing a “where to go” list, rather like a treasure map, to rank the locations most likely to bear the rocky treasure. Whilst most games are obviously played for fun, many of them sure can feel like unrelenting hard work. Hours spent to “win” trophies or “earn” credits, are increasingly “sold” or transferred between players within these games. Could NFTs transform these sorts of activities into new economic structures? BBC's Chris Berrow reports. Presented by Gareth Mitchell with expert commentary from Ghislaine Boddington. Technical Production by Giles Aspen Produced by Alex Mansfield

Faith, Culture, and all things in between.Pastor Plek and Lizzie Turk tackle additional questions from our listeners in this bonus episode. Want to submit a question? Text 737-231-0605!Questions:- What's up Chris? I got a question for your podcast. For example don't eat shellfish, Why do majority of Christians follow the law of a man should not lay with another man yet other laws such as we shouldn't wear garments with mixed cloths, do not plant two types of seed in your field or your crops will be defiled. Just interesting why some laws matter more it seems.- Do you know of a scripture that confirms that our prayers are still alive before His Throne after we die? I know Almighty God is outside of time. Do our prayers expire?- What do you think about church in the Metaverse?- Can you explain how God viewed/handled sin in various times: Adam to Moses (before the Law), Moses to Jesus (after the Law but before the Spirit), and Jesus to now (with the Spirit and under the new covenant)? After reading Romans 5:13-14 I could use some clarity on how man's consciousness of sin, and God's view of sin worked between each of those times.Support the show (https://wbcc.churchcenter.com/giving)

Quaint: Quaint is a word used to describe the countryside where things are more traditional than in cities and life moves at a slower pace. Metaverse (lesson): On September 21, 2021, Japan officially launched its new Digital Agency, which is tasked with pushing the digitalization of the public sector. Keep in mind this is a government whose employees are in love with the fax machine. That's right. Fax machines are not extinct; they just all migrated to Japan - the land that forgot technology. While Japan is finally trying to get online, the Internet has died - it's now the Splinternet. First, it was blockchain technology made famous by Bitcoin and Ethereum. Even Facebook made an attempt at A World Currency. NFTs have boomed in 2021, and to be honest, everything will soon be replaced by the Metaverse. Members of the gaming community already know what I'm talking about. Come on, everybody, keep up. https://links.artisanenglish.jp/Metaverse --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/artisanenglishjp/message

The potential for a fragmented, decentralized global internet (or “splinternet”) is a concern on many levels. Two aspects of internet governance are at play here: the technical aspects of connectivity (or lack thereof), and content delivery — in essence, what material is permitted, censored, or filtered. As China, Russia, and authoritarian-leaning regimes advance top-down visions of the internet that reflect their national interests, will the internet fragment further? And what would moving away from the status quo of a free, open internet mean for global cybersecurity? To help make sense of these complex questions, https://www.aei.org/profile/shane-tews/ (Shane) is joined by https://cltc.berkeley.edu/about-us/researchers/nick-merrill/ (Nick Merrill), director of the https://daylight.berkeley.edu/ (Daylight Security Research Lab) at the University of California, Berkeley's https://cltc.berkeley.edu/ (Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity). “Some people, who travel frequently between the Earth and Mars, have often been quoted as saying the L Punk Attitude and movement began in the Mars Weather Wonderground, shortly after the city was rebuilt. The children of generations of grown ups and adults who lived their entire lives dependent on tick tock Neotek devices and extrema ad astra nano-tek, rejected all such electronic and solar powered devices out of hand. They saw their parents attachment to any such devices as leading to the destruction of their planet, and many went wandering in groups or pairs, out through Galactic Time, in search of themselves, or in other words, in search of their true selves, rather than in search of the typical well traveled places to take more selfies, and wallow in their online persona...The term L Punks is thought to be possibly derived from the word Luddite, describing a person who took part in the great machine rebellion of 1811 in England, in which all the clockwork and industrial factories in Great Britain were smashed and destroyed by mobs of Luddites, for fear they would take away the jobs and livelihoods from human workers on Earth.A similar rebellion took place when the Splinternet on Mars MP, or Mars Prior, had caused all the Digital Disc and LP record stores to fold up and go out of business overnight, due to most music being suddenly and widely available for free by satellite and other various elite connections. And then there are those who say the capital LP in LPunk does rather stand for LP or Long Play Vinyl recordings one might have found in the aforementioned disappearing and now hard to find anywhere, music and record shops. One or two or a few die hards say the L in LP stands for the L train in New York City, on Earth, for no special reason, as anarchy so often does require no special reason. And finally, I myself, personally know of one person, who says the L in LPunk stands for less bread, more taxes. A great slogan of the White Bread wars, and a common saying in the land of Faerie hidden in the forests of England on Earth and in the crystal caves of Mars AM, or Mars at the Moment. The LPunks live above and beyond the circle of technology with no input from any tick tock Neotek device...The LPunks like robots better than people because robots don't bleed as much when you bash them in the face. The LPunk main preference for social media is sitting in a pub chatting directly with friends. The only other acceptable form of communique, when a friend is not present is proceeding to a post office and sending a telegram.Lpunks live on cookies and milk or full or double cream when they can afford it. “Musique Mécanique par le Théâtre Électrique :: "We Don't Need Another Hero" by Terry Britten
