A man wearing a "hoax" explosive device stabbed two people during a "terrorism-related" attack on a London street Sunday before he was shot and killed by police, authorities said.One stabbing victim was hospitalized with life-threatening wounds following the attack, which took place about 2 p.m. in the Streatham section, a combined residential and commercial neighbourhood about 8 kilometres south of central London, police said.Officers responded quickly to the stabbings because of a "proactive counter-terrorism operation" that was underway, London police said with elaborating.'Police said they believe the suspect's actions were related to Islamic extremism, but did not provide details.Karker Tahir said he was at work when he saw police chasing a man down Streatham High Road, the area's main shopping district."They kept telling him, 'Stop! Stop!'' Tahir said. "But he didn't stop, and then I saw that they shot him three times. It was horrible seeing it. The man was on the floor and it looked like he had something, which police said may be a device. Police came to us and said, 'You have to leave the shop because he has a bomb in his bag.'"Images shared on social media showed a man's body on the sidewalk outside a pharmacy. Emergency medical vehicles quickly filled the street and helicopters hovered overhead."The circumstances are being assessed,'' the Metropolitan Police tweeted. "The incident has been declared as terrorist-related."The drama far from central London marked a departure from recent terror attacks in the British capital that took place near high-profile landmarks such as London Bridge and Houses of Parliament.Investigators gave no immediate details on the attacker. But police declared the violence terrorism-related more quickly than they have in similar cases in the past, suggesting they may have had information about him.Bell Reberio-Addy, a member of Parliament who represents Streatham, said police assured her it was an "isolated incident."Stephen Roberts, a former deputy commissioner for the Metropolitan Police, said authorities would quickly try to search the suspect's home and seize any computer devices to scour his internet records. Tonight's special guest is Gillian Trebilcock from Victoria, Australia, here to talk about her work down under where she's an advocate against narcissism and bullying. Gill has spent most of her life as an outspoken rascal. She champions causes that need to be addressed and tells the truth even though it often gets her into a lot of trouble. She has been a Youth Worker, a Tibetan Buddhist nun, meditation teacher and priest for dying. She studied and practiced Chinese medicine and Chinese massage for most of her working life, has also grown tropical fruit and flowers and has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Humanities and is a qualified counselor. Gill is passionate about anthropology and positive psychology, Bullying and the Bystander effect. Gill's friends call her a horse whisperer, She breeds Haflinger horses and is writing a book with the working title ‘Men are like horses and should be treated as such'. Her friends say if anyone can make sure the Meek do in fact inherit the earth, it will be Gilly. Her current passions include Sustainability, Organic Farming, radio, the truth about the global impact of the Fukushima disaster, corruption in the family court system, healing from pedophiles and pedophilia and bullying as a social process. Gill has been co hosting for a number of radio shows and due to the kindness and support of Stephen Roberts from Cancel the Cabal is about to embark on her own show on Revolution Radio in Kentucky.
