The interview with Nigel Farage and the attempt to blame him for the riots was a new broadcasting low. Susanna Reid and Ed Balls demonstrated their complete bias and contempt even hatred of Farage. This can not be right can it? The bias problem goes deeper though as most of the Mainstream media is in bed metaphorically and often literally with the politicians. They are all institutionally biased to the left. You see this in the Israel conflict, the coverage of the USA election and Trump, Net Zero. Do I need to go on? Chris Kamara + Ben ShephardFootball pundit + TV presenterColleagues + FriendsChris Kamara has brought an infectious personality to our television screens for over 25 years. “Kammy” as he's known to TV audiences, started out as a pro footballer before becoming a manager and then joining Sky Sports as a reporter and pundit, most famously working with Jeff Stelling on Soccer Saturday. In 2021, Kammy received a crushing diagnosis of apraxia of speech, a rare neurological condition which affects the ability to speak fluently. His condition meant he was no longer able to continue in his much loved role at Sky Sports. He is now focused on his recovery, podcasting and campaigning for others in a similar situation to himself.Alongside Chris is his friend and colleague of 12 years plus, Ben Shephard. Ben and Kammy have worked together at Sky Sports as Goals on Sunday co-hosts and in the same capacity for ITV's Ninja Warrior UK series. Ben has been a familiar face on breakfast television for over 20 years and regularly co-hosts Good Morning Britain on ITV with his good friends Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid. His production company Triple Brew Media has made, “Lost for Words”, a documentary which tells Kammy's story and helps to explain the issues around apraxia of speech.Together, they talk about Kammy's struggles in coming to terms with his condition, how he wakes every day not knowing if he'll be able to speak and of course, there's some football banter about Ronaldo. We have just been subjected to the local elections with blanket TV coverage....personally I couldn't be less interested.....with BBC reporters being sent all over the country by planes and trains to do interviews in the street....well worth my licence fee.....I don't think. Then we have the big build up to Susanna Reid interviewing Boris `Johnson....which is the first interview he has done on ITV in 5 years....I switched it off half way through.....the only way it could have been worse was if Piers Morgan had interviewed him. After Kier Starmer has been going on and on and on about the Boris Xmas party....he is now being investigated for a similar "offence" a year ago.....and THIS is news.....it's like a bunch of school kids. I'm delighted for BP and Shell after they announced the billions they have made in profits....of course they have made billions...they have been ripping us off for years.....the rich get richer......diesel is £1.74 a litre which in real terms is £7 a gallon....it's a joke. And on the subject of rip offs....there has been many complaints from football fans over the price of tickets....apparently you can pay 100 quid to watch the cup final at Wembley....which doesn't include your travel etc....OR you can watch it on the telly for nothing.....I understand the overpowering loyalty of fans but to me it's just a football match...that's all....and you are not FORCED into being ripped off.......the answer is simple...don't go...and watch the prices amazingly come down. Prince Charles has been briefly appearing on the news at various events.....someone should tell his royal highness that the big brown overcoat he wears is not cool.....it belongs in world war 1.......and we understand that Harry and Andrew will not be appearing on the royal balcony as they are no longer members of the family....or something. Worst record of the week features Jess Conrad's Bad Jumper

We're guessing that if we polled the entire country and asked them which celebrity first springs to mind when they think of Instagram, Kylie Jenner would rank number one. And if you have want to know why that is, look no further than the 23-year-old billionaire's latest post. You don't see Jeff Bezos, seductively posing on a couch, his nipples barely concealed by an impossibly thin sheer fabric. But Susanna Reid has defended showing a “tiny bit of cleavage” on the ITV breakfast show, after accusations her trademark colourful dresses have become too revealing, insisting the looks she opts for are “presentable and appealing”. Reid explained that the programme's stylist chooses what she wears, but that “if it's too low, I'll say”. In the second of a new mini-series entitled 'Strictly Speaking', Kevin invites you into the conversation around some of the greatest dances, partners and moments throughout his Strictly Come Dancing journey! This week, Kevin revisits the second half of 2013's series which saw him appear for the first time on the show, and which saw him partnered with Susanna Reid. Kevin and Susanna managed to get all the way to the final, and performed several spellbinding dances along the way. In this week's show, Kevin talks you through the creative process behind each performance, as well as the impact of appearing for the first time on Britain's most popular television show. KEY TAKEAWAYS Many of us have been given the gift of time right now. Consequently, there has been a sense of pressure on people to achieve or develop in some ways. But if we need to be at peace, then we need to grant ourselves the permission to do that. In all performances, you're looking for the perfect balance of energy, artistry and emotion. Storytelling through dance can achieve all three, and the main job of any choreographer is to create that narrative experience. To achieve success, we should focus on the work itself instead of the expected outcomes. Only by living in the moment can we really exceed our expectations. Performances are sometimes executed in a non-traditional way in order to up the entertainment factor and win votes. It's a delicate balance between purist dance and mass appeal. Music is a crucial ingredient in the appeal of any dance. It is a vital way of involving the audience in the rhythm and soul of the performance. BEST MOMENTS ‘What I'm really interested in is what everyone chooses to do with this gift of time' 'To truly affect an audience, you've got to perform it well' ‘We need to show something dynamic!' ‘Dancing is an art. It's about expression. It's not a sport' VALUABLE RESOURCES Week 7 - Waltz - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VKqUPvdrXo Week 8 - Paso - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbNusScEDHo Week 9 - Cha Cha - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQhasI7mPVU Week 10 - Quickstep - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo1KlXnfLvo Week 11 - Argentine Tango - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVyNkpl8IQ4 Week 12 - Salsa - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoNheR7_n9k Final - Showdance - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jxe1KK_tw-8 The Kevin Clifton Show - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-kevin-clifton-show/id1475650764 ABOUT THE HOST Kevin Clifton is a professional dancer who has been performing & competing at the highest level for over a decade. In the first of a new mini-series entitled 'Strictly Speaking', Kevin invites you into the conversation around some of the greatest dances, partners and moments throughout his Strictly Come Dancing journey! This week, Kevin revisits his beginnings on the show; 2013's series, which saw him appear for the first time, and which saw him partnered with Susanna Reid. Listen as he talks about the creative process behind each dance, the behind-the-scenes stories of what really went on, and the impact of the show from a professional dancer's perspective. KEY TAKEAWAYS Perseverance was the key in the first year, where Kevin went from leading man of ‘Burn The Floor', to the back of the room as a new Strictly Pro. Through hard work and determination, he eventually began to move forward. One of the main lessons learned was to be as memorable as possible, as quickly as possible, whenever a series began. It's important to be the main part of the “coffee break” conversations on Monday morning. Techniques such as dropping to the floor, and making the partner seem higher, serve to emphasise their solo sections, and help to shift focus when needed. The audience of Strictly Come Dancing have never tuned in to see perfectly-executed examples of technique and ability. They come to be entertained. Entertainment should always be the priority. Even small factors, such as the order in which dancers appear, can make a huge difference to the reaction to a dance, and even to the popularity when it comes to the voting. BEST MOMENTS ‘I feel like I had to pay my dues in that first year' ‘As soon as you enter that territory of “remind me which dance they did”, then you haven't been memorable enough' 'This was my first taste of the show's big production narrative pieces!' ‘Just go for it with energy, and commit to the craziness of the number' ‘It's more important to be memorable than perfect' VALUABLE RESOURCES Week 1 - Jive - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF5SvHjYPkc Week 2 - Tango - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aepPe_Jpaf8 Week 3 - Viennese Waltz - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtK3YwjBrSs Week 4 - Samba - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff0g6P4slo4 Week 5 - American Smooth - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at1Y_PoNCrI Week 6 - Charleston - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxJx_LGOJqw The Kevin Clifton Show - https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-kevin-clifton-show/id1475650764 ABOUT THE HOST Kevin Clifton is a professional dancer who has been performing & competing at the highest level for over a decade. In 2017, Good Morning Britain anchor Susanna Reid presented her co-anchor (actually she calls him her TV husband), Piers Morgan, a gift. It was a copy of the book Ego is the Enemy. She thought he could use the book because Piers was “irritating, annoying, divisive, over-opinionated,” and “ready to start a fight in an empty room.” She meant it both as a compliment and as good natured (and true) feedback because anyone who has ever watched Piers Morgan on TV knows he has a big ego. Piers replied that he had no disagreement with her assessment but that he did resent the idea that ego was anything but a virtue. “Ego is your friend,” he said. “If you don’t believe in yourself folks, nobody else will.”Is he right? Is Ego a virtue? It almost feels petty, by way of an answer, to point out all the times Piers’s ego has gotten him in trouble. One notable time is, when interviewing an activist protesting Donald Trump’s forced separation of immigrants, he repeatedly tried to speak over her, and asked why she would protest against this when Obama had also deported immigrants. Instead of allowing her to explain he, egotistically, assumed he had her all figured out (indeed he called Obama her “hero”). It set the activist up for the perfect comeback: “I’m a communist, you idiot.” Believing you’re right is not the same as having your facts straight. As many of us embarrassingly learn. The mistake Piers (and a lot of people make) is that they conflate confidence and ego. Confidence is something you earn, by putting in the work, doing the research, by taking risks, and being effective when it counts. Remember Seneca’s line about how a person who has never gone through adversity is to be pitied, because they have no idea what they are capable of? What he was basically saying is that on the other side of difficulty is a gift—confidence. Simply believing that you’re capable of things you’ve never actually done or experienced, simply believing that you’re special and important without any evidence? Folks, that’s not your friend. That’s delusion! So let’s put this misconception to bed. Ego is the enemy. Confidence is the key. Evidence is better than belief, facts better than dreams. When you figure that out, you’ll be better at whatever you do in life, and probably piss fewer people off!

James Tomkins gives his update before Palace’s trip to Everton on Sunday, discussing the team around him and making the call for a big performance up at Goodison Park. If inane chat and stats is your thing then you’ll enjoy Statman’s usual dose of interesting facts ahead of the Toffees game. Palace TV’s Chris Grierson then talks to a host of Palace legends on their efforts during the Palace For Life Marathon March, including Andy Gray, Andy Johnson, Neil Shipperley, Saša Ćurčić and Mark Bright. Chairman Steve Parish also speaks on the fantastic charity effort and about why he took part. Finishing off, as ever, is Hodgson’s press conference where he answers questions from the media on team news, facing Everton and Palace’s recent form.
The High Low inbox was full of people asking us to cover the media coverage of Carrie Symonds, the former Tory comms director accused of having an affair with Boris Johnson. We discuss the ‘scarlet woman' trope, historically embodied by Monica Lewinsky, the then intern who was globally shamed for her affair with Bill Clinton (if you haven't watched her 2015 TED talk yet - DO IT.) Let's stop with the ‘tabloidese' whereby women accused of having affairs with famous, married men are party-loving sluts designed to attack the patriarchy. Here's a thought: let's cover women in the same way we do men? Also today, we celebrate the 18 year tenure - yes, 18 years - of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother. Whether 'civilian or celebrity' (our new favourite phrase), Big Brother was once a pop-culture phenomenon, at the vanguard of the zeitgeist. Rather than examine where it all went wrong (nothing lasts forever) we dive into the nostalgia and share our favourite bits plus YOUR favourite bits, as garnered from Twitter. Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid joins Fi and Jane for an iced latte and a chat about women in broadcasting, without any reference whatsoever to “those things that jut out at seaside resorts”. They discuss showing emotion on air, unwanted press attention, and their trip to the races with Clare Balding. Plus, Jane finally receives a damehood - of sorts - and Fi shares some light gynaecological anecdotage.
With 33 years in broadcast journalism under his belt, Neil Thompson began rising with the larks in 1993, as part of the GMTV launch team, and has been a stalwart of ITV early mornings ever since. In this in-depth interview, he discusses the multiple attempts to rescue the “disaster” that was Daybreak - lessons learned which resulted in the wholly rethought “live, inclusive, immersive” approach for Good Morning Britain; examines the successful pairing of “two alpha brains” Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, how their relationship works (both on and off-screen), and how viewers have embraced the tension - helping GMB make significant gains in the ratings war; and reveals how a typical show is put together... plus the secrets of Piers’ recent interview with President Donald Trump.

MPs have expressed concern about the future funding and growing commercialisation of the World Service. The BBC Trust has agreed that, subject to clearance from government, the World Service can broadcast a limited amount of advertising and sponsored content that is not news and current affairs, from 1 April, when the BBC moves to licence fee funding. Steve Hewlett asks Peter Horrocks about how the audience feels about adverts, and questions him over whether featuring commercial products would threaten the network's impartiality.Reports this week say ITV has held talks with BBC presenter Susanna Reid in a bid to revive its fortunes in the TV breakfast wars. It's understood Daybreak is set to have another presenter change, with Richard Bacon and Dermot O'Leary also reported to be in the running. It's the latest in a series of relaunches the programme has had since it began in September 2010 in a bid to pull in audiences. Steve Hewlett talks to former head of ITV Daytime Dianne Nelmes, and Liam Hamilton, launch editor and former executive producer of GMTV, about how to save flailing breakfast programmes. Reader's Digest is a 76 year old UK publication which, in its heydey, was one of the most popular magazines in the UK. Now, however, it's circulation has dropped to under 200,000. This weekend, it was bought for a nominal sum - said to be £1 - by entrepreneur Mike Luckwell. He says he wants to return the magazine to its glory days by boosting subscribers, offering direct marketing, and potentially putting the website behind a paywall. Steve Hewlett talks to him about how to reshape the magazine, at a time when circulation across the whole of the industry, is falling. Producer: Katy Takatsuki Editor: Andrew Smith.
